Malaysia to swear in world's oldest leader- BBC News

03:15
Mahathir Mohamad is to become the world's oldest elected leader at 92, after a shock victory in Malaysia's bitterly fought election. He will be sworn in at 21:30 local time (13:30 GMT), according to the state news agency, Bernama. The former PM came out of retirement and defected to the opposition to take on his one-time protégé Najib Razak. His historic win has ousted the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition, which has been in power since independence in 1957. Jubilant Mahathir supporters filled the streets as the victory became clear. Mr Najib has said he will "accept the verdict of the people", but correspondents say a smooth transition to power is not a given after such a major political upheaval. Thailand cave rescue: New Footage released - BBC News

03:23
Sources in the rescue operation, including divers who took part, told the BBC that the boys were heavily sedated ahead of the rescue to prevent them panicking in the dark, narrow, underwater passageways. They were then strapped to one of two rescue divers tasked with shepherding each boy through the underwater parts of the system, and bundled into stretchers to be carried through the dry parts. There were conflicting reports in the hours after the rescue about the extent to which the boys had been medicated before they were brought out. The Thai prime minister on Tuesday denied reports that they had been sedated, saying the boys were given only light anti-anxiety medication commonly provided to soldiers. But several sources have since confirmed that the boys were only partially conscious as they were brought out. Please subscribe HERE http://bit.ly/1rbfUog
