Dewey Beach Delaware Atlantic Ocean USA

Dewey Beach, Delaware, USA Dewey Beach lies on a small strip of land between the Atlantic Ocean and Rehoboth Bay, is about one mile long and two blocks wide. Despite its small size and low year-round population of about 300, it is not uncommon for 30,000 to descend upon the town during summer weekends. Numerous bars and restaurants line Coastal Highway (Delaware Route 1), the town's main street. The town of Dewey Beach, Delaware is a frequent summer vacation destination for Washington, D.C., residents (121.78 miles / 2 hrs 46 mins from The White House) Delaware it the second-smallest state in the United States after Rhode Island. The town hosts the Dewey Beach Music Conference during the last weekend of September. This event began in 2002 and has been a huge draw for unsigned bands from all over the country. In 2011, the NRDC Natural Resources Defense Council awarded Dewey Beach with a 5-Star rating in water quality. It is believed that the name was given to Dewey Beach following the 1898 Battle of Manilla (Spanish–American War) when Admiral George Dewey became a national hero. hashtag metadata tags #DeweyBeach #Dewey #Beach #DeweyBeachDE #DeweyBeachDelaware #Delaware #DE #ItsGoodBeingFirst #TheFirstState #FirstState #SussexCounty #summer #summertime #TheAtlanticOcean #AtlanticOcean #July #DeweyBeachAWayofLife #VisitDeweyBeach #AWayofLife #AmericanSummer #BeachTown #Town #USA HD Video Dewey Beach town, Sussex County, Delaware state, USA The United States of America country, North America continent July 25th 2015

Rehoboth Beach Delaware summer at the Atlantic Ocean USA

Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, USA Rehoboth Beach is a city along the Atlantic Ocean in eastern Sussex County, Delaware. The town of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware often bills itself as The Nation's Summer Capital due to the fact that it is a frequent summer vacation destination for Washington, D.C., residents (121.78 miles / 2 hrs 46 mins from The White House) Vacationers are drawn for many reasons, including the town's charm, tax free shopping and famous for its beaches, wooden boardwalk, eclectic shops, amusements, and sporting activities Rehoboth Beach is one of the principal cities of Delaware's rapidly growing Cape Region. In 2011, the NRDC Natural Resources Defense Council awarded Rehoboth Beach with a 5-Star rating in water quality. Out of the 30 states with coastline, the Delaware Beaches ranked number one in water quality in 2011. Rehoboth Beach is also known as one of the mid-Atlantic coast's popular LGBT Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender - gay-friendly getaways because of the large number of gay-owned and operated businesses and because of the gay-frequented stretch of beach near Queen Street, known as Poodle Beach. Dogfish Head Brewery's original brewpub is located on the town's main strip Rehoboth Avenue. Rehoboth (Hebrew: רְחוֹבוֹת‎) means "broad spaces." It appears three times in the Old Testament as a place name: a well dug by Isaac (at modern Wadi er-Ruheibeh) (Gen. 26:22), a city on the Euphrates River (Gen. 36:37; 1 Chr. 1:48), and one of the cities of Asshur (Gen. 10:11). Hence the name may have had a special appeal for the religious founders of the city, although the adjacent bay had already borne the name Rehoboth for at least a century before the town was founded. In September CAMP Rehoboth Community Center / Letters from CAMP magazine hosts an annual Labor Day weekend event called SUNDANCE with an fundraiser auction and dance party at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center. CAMP Rehoboth is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, gay and lesbian community service organization, originally developed to “Create A More Positive” relationship among all the people of the Rehoboth Beach area. Each October Rehoboth Beach hosts the Annual Sea Witch Halloween & Fiddlers Festival ( Happy Halloween - The Blessed Samhain Festival - Autumn Holidays Celebration) with a parade, Trick or Treat, and the very popular broom tossing event right at the beach. There is a summer bus service that makes it easy for beach goes to travel easily between Rehoboth Beach Delaware and Ocean City Maryland. Flume Gorge, Mount Liberty Mountain in Franconia Notch State Park, New Hampshire, USA

Flume Gorge, Mount Liberty Mountain in Franconia Notch State Park, New Hampshire, USA About Flume Gorge The Flume is a natural gorge extending 800 feet at the base of Mount Liberty. The walls of Conway granite rise to a height of 70 to 90 feet and are 12 to 20 feet apart. A trip into the Flume begins and ends at the Flume Visitor's Center. Guests can choose to walk through just the Gorge or do a two mile loop. The walk includes uphill walking and lots of stairs. The boardwalk allows you to look closely at the growth of flowers, ferns and mosses found here. Framed by a spectacular vista of Mount Liberty and Mount Flume, the Visitor Center houses the Flume ticket office, information center, cafeteria, gift shop, and the state park system's historic Concord Coach. A 20-minute movie showcasing beautiful Franconia Notch State Park is available for viewing. The Flume was discovered in 1808 by 93-year-old “Aunt” Jess Guernsey when she accidently came upon it while fishing. She had trouble convincing her family of the marvelous discovery, but eventually persuaded others to come and see for themselves. At that time, a huge egg-shaped boulder hung suspended between the walls. The rock was 10 feet (3m) high and 12 feet (3.6m) long. A heavy rainstorm in June of 1883 started a landslide that swept the boulder from its place. It has never been found. The same storm deepened the gorge and formed Avalanche Falls. New Hampshire USA New Hampshire is a state in the New England region of the northeastern United States. The state was named after the southern English county of Hampshire.
