G20 The G20 is below the base of your skull, in the hollows on both sides of the neck, between the two vertical neck muscles. Use your thumbs, fingers, or knuckles to gradually apply pressure into the hollows of your skull. Close your eyes as you tilt your head back slowly. Take long, slow deep breaths as you hold for two to three minutes. Direct the pressure slowly and firmly into the center of your head. Other Acupressure Points Now, there are lots of other acupressure points -- on your feet, arms, legs, and so forth. I’ve read mixed information and I think I’m doing something wrong because I’m not gaining any muscle, my belly looks fatter and worst of all, my sex drive is worse and it’s causing problems with my girlfriend. I’ve watched so many of your videos and I’ve applied your advice. I’ve gotten great results with my health. However, I don’t think you’ve ever answers this topic - Please help me Dr. Sam” Actually, I have addressed this question in the past, but not in detail or directly and that’s why I’m bringing this up today. And the truth is that I get a lot of questions about this topic. So the fact is that exercise can increase OR decrease your testosterone levels. It all depends on what you do, when, where, how often and for how long. And thus, you can gain OR lose muscle. Decrease OR increase belly fat. Gain OR lose strength. Increase OR decrease your energy levels. Improve or decline immune system. And you can increase or decrease your sex drive, libido and happiness. When I was younger, I would exercise 5-6x weekly. I would work out for at least an hour. I would lift heavy weights, I’d push hard and go to “failure” on all my exercises. I would also do cardio almost daily - for at least 30 minutes or more. Typically it was the bike, jogging, stairmaster, etc. It was a hard workout and I would always leave the gym feeling exhausted. However, I felt like I had a good, “honest” workout because I gave it my all and pushed as much as I can. I did this for years… The end result - sadly, I looked the same all the time!... I always seemed like I had a cold and I’d get sick often. I never had any energy to do much else -- I was just tired from my workouts. The end result is I looked “skinny-fat”. You know, not muscular or “lean”. It just didn’t look good. I was “puffy” and “squishy” all the time. And sadly, my sex drive was kinda “blah”. Granted, because I was YOUNG, it was still “okay”. However, compared to my friends - it was much lower. Then one day I decided to do a hormone test because I was just curious. Well, guess what -- my testosterone levels were low. Worst of all, my “negative” hormones were “high”... Thus, my hormones were not good, not optimal -- definitely not for a 23 year old man. ...When things should have been much better and I should have had super high testosterone levels. I realized then that without the right hormones - it doesn’t matter what you do, how much you exercise or what you eat -- you’re screwed! This is why steroids are so powerful. They give you “optimal” levels. However, you can make your own“natural steroids” from within, and not have any of the negative side-effects … IF you know what to do and more importantly, what NOT to do. So what does all of this have to do with the original topic of “exercise and increasing or decreasing your testosterone levels”?... Here’s the basic “short cuts” on the “do’s” and “don’ts” DO Lift weights! Keep your workouts short, 45 minutes or less. Workout no more than 4x weekly. Do one workout with heavier weights and lower reps - about 8-10 repetitions. And the next workout higher, about 12-15 reps. One week out of every month, reduce your sets and have easier workouts. DON’TS Eliminate or limit stressful cardio. This means no running, jogging, biking, etc. These all decrease your testosterone and increase stress hormones. Don’t kill yourself every workout, go to failure, pushing hard, etc. When you are “natural” and have “regular” genetics, you can’t push so much, so often… When I ask most people “what’s the opposite of testosterone”, people typically reply back with “estrogen”, the female hormone. However, this is not true. Actually, the opposite of testosterone is the stress hormone, cortisol. Cortisol does the opposite of testosterone. It decreases muscle and strength, increases belly fat, makes you tired and kills your sex drive. Statins also cause cataracts, which is a clouding of your eye lens and is a main cause of low vision among the elderly. Finally, statin drugs are known to cause cancer. Reason #3 - Deplete Important Nutrients Statin drugs deplete two very important nutrients in your body. The first is Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10). For example, doing too much cardiovascular exercise - like running, jogging, etc. can decrease your testosterone because of the increase in your stress hormone, cortisol. TWO things you do NOT want to do. One of the best forms of exercise for increasing your testosterone is lifting weights. However, too much of that isn’t good either. About 3-4x weekly, no more than an hour is just the right amount to increase your testosterone and help improve your libido and sex drive. The Non-Exercise, Exercise However, today I’m NOT going to discuss anything about lifting weights, cardio, etc. I’ve done that in the past. What I want to talk about is a very simple “non-exercise”, exercise... that you can do RIGHT NOW, while watching this video and that’s called, the Kegel Exercise. I call this the “non-exercise” exercise because it requires no gym, equipment or even real movement. Now, some of you may have heard of this. Unfortunately most do it incorrectly. Kegel exercises are done to strengthen the perineal muscles. To “flex” this muscle, it’s very simple. One way to describe how to do it is, by contracting your anus muscle, as if you’re trying to hold in gas. Go ahead and give it a try now... Another way to do it is stop peeing midway through. Thus, as you’re peeing, “contract the muscle” that will STOP the pee, midway through. That’s it - that’s a kegel exercise. Super simple, but extremely effective. You can literally do it anywhere, anytime and nobody would know. Sets & Reps You should do kegel’s about 3x a week to start with. Over time, slowly build up to 5x weekly. Just don’t do it every single day because like any muscle, it requires rest to gain strength. Contract the muscle (holding in gas or stop peeing) and hold for 3-5 seconds. Relax for 1-2 seconds. That’s ONE repetition Do this 10 of these, for 10 repetitions. That’s ONE set Do one set of 10 repetitions, 3x weekly. Then maybe the next week do 2 sets of 10 reps and work up to 3 sets of 10 reps, 3x weekly. You can do it all at once, or break it up 2-3x daily. Nothing it set in stone. What matters is consistency, persistence and patience. Benefits There lots of benefits when this muscle is strong Stronger, full erections Last longer, more stamina and the prevention of premature ejeculation. Stronger orgasms. Healthier prostate. Improvement for those who have overactive bladder or urinary incontinence. How To Improve Results Of course, doing the right exercises is a great start. But what do you do when you NEED more sleep? When you can’t seem to function on only 6 hours? When you have such a hard time getting out of bed in the morning? Well, Arnold Schwarzenegger jokes about this and says, “sleep faster”. However, the real question is why do some people need more sleep than others? And how can you sleep less and have even more energy? Well, the real reason is that healthy people need less sleep. When your body is healthy, it’s “fixing” everything in less time, you’re more efficient and you have better QUALITY of sleep. Unless you’re growing and you’re below the age of 20, you don’t need as much sleep. When you’re not healthy, your body is slow to recover because your body is either lacking in nutrients or your hormones aren’t optimized. Stop using all electronic devices, or least DIM the light on everything. I wear “blue blocker” glasses about 30-60 minutes before bed. Blue light keeps you awake. Don’t take sleeping pills or drugs. You may sleep longer, but the quality is less. Not to mention they cause long-term memory loss and dementia. Try to get to bed by 10pm and especially before midnight. This is when your hormones are optimized for sleep. Make sure your room is dark and preferably around 68 degrees. Cooler helps you sleep better. I wear eyeshades and ear plugs. Before going to bed, journal or write down what you’ve learned today and what you’re grateful for. If you don’t want to write it, at least think about it and FEEL it. Afterwards, there is a big drop in testosterone. So, why does this happen? Well, there are lots of reasons. Lower blood sugar due to glucose depletion in your muscles, increases your cortisol levels and can cause a decrease in testosterone. Stress on your nervous system (CNS) due to an exhaustive or overly strenuous workout, increases your cortisol and will cause a decrease in your testosterone. Not eating well, being depleted of proteins, fats and carbohydrates, causes stress on your body and again, raises your cortisol and decreases your testosterone. As you see - the common problem is STRESS and the increase in your cortisol hormone. There are 3 ways to fix this problem and reduce this from happening: Make sure you have enough food in your body, before AND after exercise. This means have a good, light meal about an hour or two before exercise. And make sure to eat carbs and protein soon after your workout, to replenish your empty glucose and protein levels. Keep your workouts short. No more than 30-45 minutes. No more than 3-4x weekly. Don’t kill yourself. You should leave the gym feeling GOOD and refreshed. Not as if you just got done wrestling Kingkong and you’re dead tired. Take vitamins and herbs after your workout, that are clinically proven to reduce cortisol and increase your testosterone. I bring this up because I get a lot of questions about this topic and to be honest with you, I’m not surprised. In fact, statistics show that this “medical condition”, is on the rise. Over the past 3 decades, gynecomastia has increased by 57%1 - which is crazy if you think about it. So if you have “gyno” - regardless of how small or big - you’re not alone because having gynecomastia is actually quite common these days. About 60% of boys get it during puberty 2 37% of men in their 30’s and 40’s have it 2 and a whopping 70% of men age 50 and older have it.2 Now, most people think the real cause is high estrogen. Yes, estrogen is definitely a major problem… However, the REAL cause is actually having low testosterone and more specifically, an imbalance in hormones - primarily between testosterone AND estrogen. Thus, the “ratio” is more in favor of estrogens, than testosterone. For example, you can have low estrogen and still get gynecomastia, IF your testosterone is ALSO low. So ideally you want HIGH testosterone and LOW estrogen. Guys with gyno actually have the opposite, LOW testosterone and HIGH estrogen - the ratio is backwards. But here’s where things get interesting and actually, really bad for guys who have man-boobs. So listen carefully… As your estrogen levels increase, your body tells your testicles to produce LESS testosterone. So, that’s bad news #1 What’s worse is that the body’s natural estrogen inhibitor,... the way your body tries to naturally lower estrogen internally, …. is by increasing the hormone - Dihydrotestosterone, also known as DHT… Which is a primary cause of balding and excess body hair (back, shoulders, etc.)!!! That’s bad news #2 So guys with gyno have More estrogen - more body fat, depression, etc. Less testosterone - smaller muscle, lower sex drive, etc. Higher DHT - balding, body hair, etc. But get this, the bad news continues… Because there’s another major hormonal imbalance typically seen with “man-boob” guys -- higher levels of the stress hormone, Cortisol … which further DECREASES testosterone levels even more, causing an even HIGHER ratio of estrogen, so on and so forth. That’s bad news #3 So the bad news keeps getting worse. The negative hormonal imbalances cause even bigger imbalances as you age and also as you get fatter,... which is further enhanced BY the hormonal imbalances. Simply stated, you’re kinda “screwed”. Which explains why it’s so much harder for you to gain muscle or lose fat … and why your sex drive keeps going lower ... and you lose more and more muscle every year. And basically, your aging and getting older, at a FASTER rate. So listen… I can go on and on about this topic because it also causes higher cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar, erectile problems, etc., etc. But by now I hope you get the point. So, let’s QUICKLY talk about solutions. Surgery Some people need to have surgery to remove the gyno. This is fine, especially if yours is big. Make sure you find an EXPERIENCED doctor who has done this surgery dozens and hundreds of times. However, regardless of the surgery, you still MUST improve your hormonal imbalance - which includes 3-4 solutions: Reduce Estrogen/Female Hormones First, you need to reduce your estrogen levels. This is done by Losing Fat: This is because fat cells increase estrogen levels. Eat Better Lots of foods increase estrogen -- such as soy products and animal protein, primarily because of all the hormones in the foods. For example, chick eat soy products and that gets into the chicken and then into you -- even the “organic, free range” junk So you need to eat more vegetables and healthy fats - such as coconut, nuts, seeds, avocados and so forth. And having hypertension is one of the leading causes of a heart attack or stroke.(1) Now, there are lots of ways to naturally lower your blood pressure and under this video, in the description area, I’ve listed some of my favorites. However, don’t go there yet because most people, including doctors, mistakenly consume less salt to lower blood pressure. However, low-salt diets typically don’t make much of a difference. What does make a big difference is lowering sugar in your diet and more specifically, “high fructose corn syrup” In a recent study in the journal Open Heart (2), the authors write: “Evidence from epidemiological studies and experimental trials in animals and humans suggests that added sugars, particularly fructose, may increase blood pressure and blood pressure variability, increase heart rate and myocardial oxygen demand, and contribute to inflammation, insulin resistance and broader metabolic dysfunction. Thus, while there is no argument that recommendations to reduce consumption of processed foods are highly appropriate and advisable, the arguments in this review are that the benefits of such recommendations have less to do with sodium—minimally related to blood pressure and perhaps even inversely related to cardiovascular risk—and more to do with highly-refined carbohydrates and sugars." The Problem Started In The 1970s Food and beverage manufacturers began switching their sweeteners from sucrose (table sugar) to corn syrup in the 1970s when they discovered that High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) was far cheaper to use in their products. In fact, HFCS is the #1 source of calories in America!!!( 3) It’s found in almost everything you can think of. More specifically, in sodas and fruit juices. But also in many pre-packaged foods. This also includes “healthy sugars” sweetened with agave. My Proven “Prescription” and Recommendation For You You must do your best to limit and eliminate all HFCS and to do this, make sure you read labels. Again, the LESS pre-packaged the food, the better. Limit your TOTAL fructose to 25 grams or less, that’s about 100 calories daily. This includes the natural fructose found in fruits. If you are already suffering from high blood pressure or signs of insulin resistance like diabetes, overweight and high cholesterol, you should be particularly careful to limit your fructose, including that from whole fruits, to 15 grams per day or less. That’s about 60 calories daily. So there you have it. Focus more on limiting your sugars, this includes fruit sugar, fructose … and especially “high fructose corn syrup” which is found in most pre-packaged foods, especially sodas and fruit juices. Decrease in waist circumference: 0.75 in (1.9 cm). Decrease in triglycerides: 26%. What’s interesting is that the placebo group actually gained 0.9 lbs (0.4 kgs), and their waist circumference slightly increased. According to this study, adding 1 or 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to your diet can help you lose weight. It can also reduce your body fat percentage, make you lose belly fat and decrease your blood triglycerides. How Does Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) Work? So the “secret” mechanism to how apple cider vinegar works has to do with optimizing some of your fat loss hormones. In fact, I have a great video about this topic. You can watch it by clicking the link below in the description area. However, don’t get there just yet… Apple cider vinegar works through 3 simple “weight loss” mechanisms. It acts as an appetite suppressant.2 So you feel fuller, longer because of the acetic acid in vinegar. It improves your blood sugar levels3. This causes stomach problems, gas, bloat, acid reflux and weight gain. And one of the reasons you gain weight is because 20 minutes of eating, typically signals your brain that you're full. When you eat slowly, you'll eat LESS food during that time…. Because your brain shuts off your appetite. 3 - Drinking Your Calories Drinking your calories is a big problem because it only takes a couple of minutes to have juice, soda, a "shake" or any other liquid that's loaded with lots of calories. Eating real food causes a "thermogenic" effects, thus increasing your body temperature and metabolism. Also, "drinks" are typically loaded with lots of sugars, which spike up your insulin levels and increase belly fat. 4 - Not Moving Enough Your body is made to move. Yet, most people just sit all day -- you're sitting at work, in your car, behind the computer, while eating and so forth. You need to exercise or "move" daily. Simply taking a brisk, 20-30 minute walk daily will increase your metabolism because it improves your hormones and reduces cravings. 5 - Not Eating Often Enough Most people skip breakfast, which isn't a good idea. But the bigger problem is that most people skip lots of meals and then when they do sit down to finally eat, they are so hungry that they'll eat anything and make poor eating decisions. By eating more often, you'll have more energy, better blood sugar levels and less cravings and hunger. Also, the more often you eat, the faster your metabolism because your body has to "turn on" to digest all the food. Thus, eat smaller meals, more often. This can be 3 regular meals like breakfast, lunch and dinner. Plus 2 smaller "snack" meals. You can eat the same calories, but spread it over 5 smaller meals and you'll lose fat and feel better too. 6 - Not Drinking Enough Water Most people don't drink enough water and thus, are walking around dehydrated. To make it worse, most people are loaded on caffeine products -- coffee, "energy drinks", tea and so forth. When you're dehydrated, your more tired and fatigued. This causes you to move less and burn less calories. Drinking water, especially cold water, causes a thermogenic effect, similar to eating more meals. Drinking water, especially before a meal, also reduces hunger pains and cravings. Because of this, I wanted to do a short video about 6 warning signs that can be noticed, about a month before an actual heart attack happens. Think of these as warning signs similar to those on your car’s dashboard, alerting you that something is wrong and you MUST take action right away and “check” everything before your car (or heart) breaks down and something goes terribly wrong. 1 - Shortness of Breath This happens because your lungs aren’t receiving the required blood to function correctly. One thing to know is that your lungs and heart work as a “team”. So, if one of them is having problems, it will affect the other. This is the reason shortness of breath is connected with heart issues. 2 - Chest Pressure Before a heart attack happens, chest pain or pressure will increase over time. This increase might happen over the course of a few hours or days, or maybe 2-3 weeks. This kind of pain can also be spread to your arms, back and shoulders. Some may think the chest pressure is stress or indigestion. However, if it’s increasing in duration and/or intensity, it’s best to get your heart and arteries checked right away. 3 - Dizziness and Cold Sweats The typical cause of dizziness and cold sweats, is due to less blood supply to your brain and that mean that there’s poor circulation. If your body is feeling clammy and unwell… and your brain isn’t working properly and everything is foggy and slow -- then all of these can be indicators for a heart attack. 4 - Flu or Cold Something interesting to note is that many people that survive a heart attack, claim that they experienced flu or cold-like symptoms before the heart attack happened. It’s not scientifically proven, but there’s a lot of anecdotal evidence to back it up. 5 - Body Weakness Less blood flow and poor circulation cause weakness, especially in your muscles. And remember, your heart is a muscle. Thus, it’s not getting the nutrients and oxygen it needs. This is one of earliest symptoms of a heart attack. 6 - Fatigue Feeling tired and fatigue, is similar to body and muscle weakness. The narrowing of your arteries, decreases blood flow to your heart AND brain and thus, you feel overly tired all the time due to lack of nutrients and oxygen. A Common Denominator. One thing to note is that these 6 warning signs are all caused by less blood flow and poor circulation. Stress, eating the wrong foods, being overweight, lack of exercise, high cholesterol, blood sugar and blood pressure are all contributing factors to a heart attack or stroke. And the minute anyone had even slightly elevated cholesterol levels, doctors were quick to prescribe these powerful (and harmful) drugs. However, in the past few years the truth has come out… The fact that statin drugs are very toxic and have numerous side-effects — such as memory loss, muscle pain, liver damage, diabetes, high blood pressure, impotence and more. Not only is this wrong, but it’s illegal in the US because… FDA Won’t Allow This In 2008, the FDA determined that red yeast rice products that contain more than trace amounts of monacolin K are considered as an “unapproved new drug” and cannot be sold legally as dietary supplements. And this was done primarily because the pharmaceutical companies didn’t want a natural ingredient to compete with their harmful drugs. Red yeast rice can’t cause any statin side-effects, if it doesn’t contain any “statin” in it. However, Red yeast rice still has numerous health and cholesterol-lowering benefits that is NOT related to monacolin K or lovastatin, and without any negative side-effects.2,5 So Consumer Reports was all wrong about Red Yeast Rice’s negative side-effects. Problem 1: Citrinin Some red yeast rice products contain a contaminant called citrinin, which can cause kidney failure in high dosages.4 So when purchasing any product containing Red Yeast Rice, make sure the citrinin is removed. Problem 2: Don’t Use It By Itself You never want to use Red Yeast Rice by itself because you’d have to use a very high dosage of it for it to work and be effective. Well, as estrogen and female hormones go up, it signals your HPTA system (Hypothalamic Pituitary Testicular Axis), to produce LESS testosterone. So now you know why your DHT (the hair loss hormone) levels go up, it’s to lower your “high” estrogen - the REAL problem! I’m sure you’ve heard some guys being referred to as “short, fat… bald and hairy”, right? Well, the “short and fat” is from higher estrogen. The “bald and hairy” is from higher DHT. Yes, genetics plays a big role here, but our environment can make things much worse and speed up the negatives. WHY Does It Go Up? So why does estrogen go up? Well, there are lots of reasons… Unfortunately, due to modern society, there are lots of environmental, “external” reasons… Such as the foods we eat, plastics, chemicals found in everyday stuff, electronic devices and so forth. The good news is a lot of you can control, but unfortunately there’s just so many things that are out of our control or it’s just not convenient - like staying away from electronic devices. That’s not doable for most of us. Then there are “internal” reasons. Typically, as men age there is an increase in the “aromatase” enzyme, which converts testosterone to estrogen. Which explains why a man’s testosterone starts to drop in his mid 20’s and really falls in his 40’s and beyond. So, aging is a cause... Additionally, the higher your body fat, the higher your estrogen levels because your fat cells produce their own estrogen independently. And this turns into a negative cycle because the fatter you are, the more estrogen you produce… And the more estrogen you produce, the fatter you become! How Can You Lower Estrogen? It’s actually very easy since I’ve done it hundreds of times over the past two decades. Eat more natural, organic foods. Less processed foods. Limit or reduce anything with plastics, such as bottled waters and tupperware I know it’s almost impossible to reduce electronic device usage. Unfortunately, researchers estimate that up to 80% of American do not get enough magnesium from their diet to replace the magnesium lost.1 Magnesium & Blood Pressure If you didn’t already know, 1 out of 3 Americans (33%) suffer from high blood pressure (hypertension).3 … which can increase your risk of having a heart attack or stroke. Sadly, ½ of these people don’t even know they have hypertension and less than 20% have this under control.3 However, the good news is that in a clinical study5, people who had the highest levels of serum magnesium, had a 48% lower risk of hypertension 69% lower risk of type 2 diabetes 42% lower risk for CAC, which is the hardening of your arteries. It was found in a human clinical study6 of more than 8,500 people that a higher intake of magnesium may decrease the risk of high blood pressure. Where To Get Your Magnesium From FOODS As far as best “magnesium-rich” foods, most of it is greens and vegetables: Spinach Beet greens Collard greens Turnip greens Broccoli Brussels sprouts Kale Bok choy Romaine lettuce Raw seeds: Pumpkin, sesame and sunflower have the highest Raw nuts: Cashews, almonds and Brazil nuts are the best sources Fatty fish: Wild-caught Alaskan salmon and mackerel are the best sources Unfortunately, getting optimal magnesium levels can be difficult because most foods are depleted of vitamins and mineral. I mean, I know it’s not good for health, but I don’t drink that much. These days, mainly on the weekends - like 2-3 drinks at the most. Well, maybe more at times (lol). But the reason I ask is because I notice it’s affecting my sex drive and my “hardness”. When I was younger, it wasn’t a problem, but for sure now. Is it the alcohol or just me getting older? Oh, I’m 36 by the way.” First, yes… aging has a lot to do with it because a man’s testosterone starts to drop in his mid 20’s. Since you’re in your mid 30’s at age 36, your testosterone has been slowly lowering for the past decade. However, the alcohol is just making things much worse and causing a FASTER drop in your testosterone levels and thus it’s killing your sex drive making you fatter and basically turning you into a woman! Let me tell you the 3 primary ways it’s doing this: Alcohol is a toxin - both to your body (liver, muscles, etc.) and your mind (neurons, synapses, etc.). As your body tries to metabolize alcohol (ethanol), it lowers the amount of NAD+ inside your liver and testes. This reduces the production of testosterone. The higher the quantity and frequency of alcohol usage, the lower the production of testosterone.1 Alcohol stimulates the brain to release beta-opioid endorphins, which is the reason why you get really relaxed after few beers. Sadly, those endorphins are also notorious for their negative effect on testosterone synthesis.2 Alcohol also causes an increase in your estrogen levels, which signals your testes to produce less testosterone.3 This also causes more belly fat, which indirectly produces even more estrogen. Thus, turning you into a “girly man”. Now, I’m not here to tell you to never drink. This is your life, your body, your future. My suggestion is to reduce the consumption of alcohol whenever possible. And if you’re going to drink, try to avoid beer because it tends to lower your testosterone the most due to the hops in the beer … They are very estrogenic and thus, causing the biggest imbalance between your male and female hormones. And lastly, the older you get, the bigger the problem alcohol is for your testosterone levels, as well as your overall health. In women, it is said to increase libido, perk up a low sex drive and may, because of the herb's glucosinolate content, enhance fertility. After 8 weeks, men in the maca groups reported heightened sexual desire [1]. Another study looked at 20 depressed men on SSRIs – antidepressants that often decrease sex drive – and found that daily maca extract “significantly increased self-reported libido”. A similar study looking at 45 women on antidepressants found maca had the same effect [3]. And some have even called Maca as “nature’s answer to Viagra”. Now, I wouldn’t go that far. However, Maca does work, IF you use the correct form and dosage. First of all, if you’re using the “root powder”, you’ll need at least 3000-5000 MGS daily. The “root” powder is never as potent or as effective as the extract form. So, your goal should be to get Maca EXTRACT, preferably at 6%... Which contains the beneficial chemicals (p-methoxybenzyl isothiocyanate and glucosinolate) causing the improvement in hormonal balance and increase of sex drive. Additionally, research has shown that Maca Extract works much better, when combined with other complementary and synergistic herbs and vitamins, such as Fenugreek, Tongkat Ali, Avena Sativa, Stinging Nettle and Tribulus extract, for optimal testosterone levels. Which is a MAJOR problem and causing factor for almost everything related to aging, especially as it pertains to hair loss. As this stress hormone goes up, your testosterone drops faster than brink in your swimming pool. And this is nature's way of preventing you from “procreating” and having babies. Based on thousands of years of evolution, your body thinks that because you are under a lot of stress, there must be a shortage of food or shelter ...or some other problem which can cause death. Thus, it’s not the best time for you to have babies. So as cortisol levels go up, your testosterone drops and so does your sex drive. Additionally, stress causes inflammation in the body. And inflammation, known in pattern balding as perifollicular inflammation, plays a significant, perhaps the most significant role in hair loss. If you’re sleep deprived, go to bed earlier. Eat 5-6 small meals daily to balance your blood sugar, which helps lower cortisol. Make sure you do something every day to relax, your own personal “hour of power”. That may be going for a walk outside, getting a massage, meditating, stretching, watching something funny or even taking a quick nap. So let’s get started: What you need to do is eat some FAT with all of your meals. However, the problem here is that people are either Eating NO fats, because they’ve been misled and brainwashed thinking it’s bad for them and it’ll make them fat. They eat the WRONG types of fats and thus, it’s making things worse and is actually the CAUSE for getting them fat and making them diabetic. So let’s discuss both of these quickly. Problem 1 - Eating NO Fats If you don’t have some fat with your meals, the carbohydrates you eat will quickly shoot up your blood sugar and thus, your insulin levels. This is NOT what you want because over time, your insulin receptors become “insensitive” and thus, your body needs to produce even MORE insulin to get the same “blood sugar lowering” effects and you eventually become diabetic. The benefit is that if you eat some healthy fats with all of your meals, you will quickly BLUNT the blood sugar spikes. This is because fat slows digestion. Thus, you’ll lower the glycemic index and load of the meal. The end result is lower blood sugar after your meals better energy levels and healthier insulin receptors Problem 2 - Eating The WRONG Fats The second problem is those who do eat fats with their meals, they eat the WRONG types of fats. So in the movie “Forks over Knives”, Dr. Greger1 states that “fat makes you insulin resistant”. This is based on studies performed in the 1930s where a group of participants ate a “fat-rich diet… in vegetable oils, butter, mayonnaise, and cream.” I’m not going to get into all the details. However, I mention this because these are NOT healthy fats. These are crappy fats. These are manmade fats. They’re fake. Not natural. These fats are treated, heated, hydrogenated and are trans-fats. YES, these fats are bad for you and will cause diabetes, in addition to dozens of other diseases and health problems. What you want to eat is some healthy fats: Raw nuts and seeds (hemp, flax, etc.) Avocados Coconut oil Extra virgin Macadamia nut and Olive oil Omega and fish oils Don’t heat your oils because it changes the structure of the molecule. And if you’re going to cook, stick with Coconut oil and macadamia nut oil. Also, fats create and improve your hormones, which is the KEY to a healthier body. By the way, you don’t need much fat with your meals. One way to describe how to do it is by contracting your anus muscle, as if you’re trying to hold in gas…. Another way to do it is to stop peeing midway through. Thus, as you’re peeing, “contract the muscle” that will STOP the pee, midway through. That’s it - that’s a kegel exercise. THAT is how you contact your perineal muscle My examples are based now how you can learn WHERE the perineal muscle is… and HOW you can feel and contract it. I am NOT wanting you to go to the bathroom, start urinating and then hold it and start doing the exercise that way. Once you know HOW to contract your perineal muscle … whether it's by “contracting your anus” or by “holding your pee”... Then you can just contract this muscle wherever you are, anywhere you are, any time you want to. Right now, as you’re sitting watching this video, you can do your kegel exercises by contracting your perineal muscle. You can do it while driving. While standing and waiting in line somewhere. Does this make sense? Q2: I also got a lot of questions about how should your penis be -- erect or flaccid or semi-erect? Remember, the exercise has NOTHING to do with your penis - it has to do with contracting your perineal muscle. Q3: I also got a bunch of people saying how they were getting “hard” or “erect” when doing these exercises. If you are, that’s totally fine and it’s normal. The kegels have lots of benefits - healthier prostate and better erections are typical and that’s because: The exercise is increasing blood flow and circulation to the area. It’s also strengthening the muscle that helps give you stronger, harder and fuller erections. So if you’re getting erect or harder, that’s a good sign. That means your penis is getting healthier and stronger … Enjoy! Q4: Another often asked question I got is “how long should these exercises take”? Well, just like working out at the gym, we start low and build up over time. I’ve given the “sets and reps” in the original video. However, you may just do it for 2-3 minutes at a time, 3x weekly. Then as you get stronger, you can do it for 5 min, 3x weekly. Then maybe do 5 min, 4x weekly and then eventually 5x weekly. You may do a “double split” workout where you do 3 min in the morning and then 3 min at night. Again, start low and build up every week. HOWEVER, just like any muscle, you also don’t want to exercise it every day. Exercise and then rest the muscle so you can see improvements. Q5: And the final question had to do with premature ejaculation, as well as improving your orgasims. Testosterone & Sleep As far as sleep and your testosterone levels -- most people don’t realize that the majority of your testosterone and other “repair” hormones is produced during sleep. Additionally, less sleep increases your stress hormone, cortisol … which opposes testosterone and thus, as cortisol rises, your testosterone drops. And the secret is getting into deep REM sleep (rapid eye movement). However, going to bed at the wrong times, eating the wrong foods or drinks, not having specific vitamins, minerals, herbs and amino acids will screw up your REM sleep and testosterone production. And in regards to how much sleep you need for optimal testosterone levels… studies have shown that men who sleep 4-5 hours on average, have 60% to 120% LESS testosterone than men who average 8-9 hours.1,2 5 Clinically Proven Ways To Get Better & Deeper Sleep Go to bed before midnight. You should actually go to bed around 9:30-10 pm because that’s your body’s natural circadian rhythm, which produces lower cortisol and higher testosterone. If that’s too early, at least get to bed before midnight. Wear blue-blocker glasses. Bright light and blue light from electronic devices prevents your body from producing melatonin. So dim the lights around your home and wear these orange, blue-blocker glasses an hour or two before bed. Eat a small, higher fat meal. One reason your body wakes up in the middle of the night is due to low blood sugar. About an hour or two before bed, have about 200 calories of some kind of protein, a healthy fat and a little bit of fruit to prevent blood sugar issues. No electronic devices in your bedroom. No wi-fi, cell phones, etc. because the electromagnetic field disrupts sleep quality and brain function.3 If you need an alarm, use a regular alarm clock if possible or use your cell phone, but put it on “airplane” mode. Sleep in a cold room with no underwear. As your body cools down, you produce more melatonin, the sleep hormone. And your testicles need to be a little cooler than your body temperature to produce optimal testosterone - that’s why no underwear. Sleep in complete darkness. This means no light, no clock, no night-light or anything. Have black-out curtains and wear eye shades if you can’t make this happen. Avoid alcohol, caffeine or any stimulants if you can.
