Gynecomastia, also known as the Man Boobs is a common disorder of endocrine system in which there is non cancerous increase of male breast tissue. It is thought to be caused by an when the female sex hormone increases a little too much as compared to the it's male counterpart, the androgen. Man boobs are common in new born babies but it hardly stays for 2-3 weeks. Then, it is also common in older males due to natural decline in testosterone. But, it is a major problem when it comes to adolescents. As many as 70% of them getting affected by it. Poor nutrition, side effects from medicines and use of steroids may also lead to man boobs. If you're body is in the middle of growing, I personally believe that it's that much easier to grow your muscles and in general effect what your ultimately going to grow into. As a teen especially if your a younger teenager like 13 or 14 you have so much time in which you can effect what you will look like as an adult. This is actually exactly the age that I started working out, and let me tell you when I started I was not by any means, athletic, lean, muscular, or genetically gifted. The #1 thing that I did to turn this all around, and I want you guys to really focus and pay attention to this, the #1 thing that I did was I just got started, and...this is important... I didn't stop. Being and looking fit is a lifelong process, and the cool thing is if you start early in your teens it's gonna pay off big time when you get older. As an adult there is so much confusing information out there about fitness, and as a teenager since your probably brand new to the fitness world it's even more confusing. You don't need the ultimate teenage workout program to start you just need to stop making excuses and get started on almost any program. When I was 14 I probably benched less than everyone in my high school gym. Even though I felt embarrassed, I still came in and did it again and again and again. And after a few years, I was benching way more than most of the people that started off stronger than me. Listen to me...consistent action will beat natural or genetic advantages over time. You may think it's unfair that somebody in school can eat whatever they want and not workout hard and still be so much more fit than you are. In reality the truth is that these people might not have a genetic advantage, they may have been working hard playing sports their whole life or they may just have been more active than you without you even knowing it. All the while you were playing video games. Regardless if you put in the work daily starting now, by the time you're all grown up you could easily come out way further ahead even than the truly genetically gifted in any area of life you choose including fitness. Okay so now that you know it take daily consistent action to have long term success, I want to give you the 3 action steps that you should take daily to get to your goals. #1 Try to avoid eating anything that isn't real food that grew naturally from the Earth. If you have a box with a picture of food on it and you look at the ingredient list and there's a bunch of ingredients that you can't even pronounce, that does not fall under the category of real food. Real food is brown rice, wild caught seafood, yams, chicken, turkey, quinoa, oat meal, fruits, vegetables, and pretty much anything that is the single ingredient. It's not made up of ingredients it is what it is. Salmon is salmon, and rice is rice. Pasta is not pasta. Its flour, and a whole bunch of other ingredients. If you simply stick to real food, include a lot of green vegetables, and exercise throughout the week this should be enough to have you moving in the right direction. How Much Should I Weigh you ask? "What should I eat" or "How much should I weigh?" Today I'll be answering how much you should weigh and the rest of my videos will discuss the more complicated issue of what you should eat. I made this the first video in my What Matters for Healthy Weight Loss Series because I thought you should know how much you should weigh before you try to lose weight. I want to give people a target weight range to shoot for, so that I don't have a bunch of people that are already at a healthy weight trying to lose weight in an unhealthy way. I know our culture's version of beauty is sickly skinny and air brushed to some twisted version of ideal. I beg you to put your health first. Before I get into anything else, I want to say that if you are overweight, you don't have to get into the ideal body weight range to make a difference in your health. For heavier people, losing just 10% of your body weight can make a huge difference in your health. Don't let perfect be the enemy of good -- Just because it may not be realistic for you to reach and ideal weight, you can still do a lot for your health. So lets get to answering how much you should weigh. Several factors play into how much you should weigh like your age, gender, height, muscle mass, frame size, and current weight. Height in Meters^2 1. Age 2. Gender 3. Height 4. Muscle Mass 5. Frame Size 6. Current Weight The most popular indicator for showing what a healthy weight is Body Mass Index or BMI. BMI is a ratio of your height to weight using the following equation. BMI = Weight in Kilograms (Height in meters)^2 BMI equals weight in kilograms over height in meters squared. Here is a BMI chart so that you can check your BMI. For adults a healthy BMI is considered from 18.5 to 25. Under 18.5 is considered underweight, 25-29.9 is overweight, and 30 is considered obese. A lot of people complain that BMI isn't accurate because we know someone that clearly isn't unhealthy and overweight but is classified as overweight by BMI. And they are right, BMI isn't perfect because it doesn't account for age, gender, muscle mass, and frame size. It only uses height and weight so it shouldn't be used for the individual, for you -- however, when looking at large groups of people and collecting thousand of BMIs, it is a good indicator of body fat. So I just said that BMI isn't good for the individual, so how do you know what a healthy weight is for you? The best way to determine a healthy weight for you is to calculate your ideal body weight. The equation for ideal body weight takes weight, height, gender, and frame size into account so it's much better than BMI. First I want you to get an idea of your frame size. Wrap your thumb and middle finger around the top part of your wrist, just above the bump. If you can't get your fingers around your wrist all the way, you have a large frame size. If you can barely touch your thumb and finger, you have a medium frame size. If your fingers overlap, then you have a small frame size. Now that you know your frame size, calculate your ideal body weight with the following equation: Women: 100 lbs + (5 lbs x height in inches over 5 feet tall) +- 10% Men: 106 + (6 lbs x height in inches over 5 feet tall) +- 10% So for example, a 5'5' woman has an ideal body weight of 125 lbs plus or minus 10 percent, which comes out to a weight of 112-138 lbs. If this woman has a small frame size, a healthy weight might be closer to the lower range of that weight range. A larger frame would be at the high end of the weight range. A medium frame size closer to the middle. Also, if this woman was muscular, like an athlete, she would be healthy on the higher end of this weight range or even slightly above this weight range because the extra weight is muscle. A woman over the age of 65, especially over the age of 75, would be healthier at the high end of this weight range because older people have less muscle mass and if they carry a little extra weight, then it's actually healthier because it protects them from losing as much muscle mass as they age. Try not to get attached to one specific number. A healthy weight is always a range. I hope this has given you a little more insight into what a healthy weight is for you! I would like to say that body fat percentage and amount of muscle mass are also very useful because it is possible for you to be at a healthy weight and still have too much body fat, but they are hard to determine because more of the easy tests like the scales that tell you your bodyfat percentage aren't very accurate. If you do have access to accurate body fat testing, here is a reference table for body fat percentages:

For confirmation, look at the National Weight Control Registry (NWCR), a database of 4,000 men and women who have lost 30 or more pounds and kept it off. Only 9 percent reached and maintained their weight-loss goal without exercise. Most people in the register chose walking as their form of exercise. 2. Eat breakfast The most effective diabetes diet includes breakfast. Skipping breakfast can lead to overeating later in the day when you become ravenous. This can sabotage weight-loss plans and cause blood sugar levels to surge. Studies show that eating breakfast, especially if it's cereal, is associated with better weight loss. A common characteristic among the NWCR participants is that most of them ate breakfast. 3. Cut calories The exact number of calories that people on a diabetes diet should consume depends on a number of factors, including age, gender, current weight, activity level, and body type. A reasonable goal for people with type 2 diabetes is between 1,200 and 1,800 calories per day for women and between 1,400 and 2,000 calories per day for men. 4. Feast on fiber Does your diabetes diet include lots of fiber? If so, you're doing your type 2 diabetes a favor. Generous amounts of fiber help lower blood sugar levels and speed weight loss. In one study, adults who consumed the most fiber-rich foods had the least amount of body fat. Aim for three servings per day of fiber-loaded fruits, vegetables, beans, and whole grains. Toss fiber-rich legumes, like chickpeas and black beans, into salads, chili, and soups. 5. Eat mini-meals A diabetes diet structured with three or more small meals daily is better than a diet plan that includes only one or two big meals. Large meals can cause blood sugar levels to surge, while eating smaller meals more frequently will keep glucose levels lower after eating. Plus, a diabetes diet consisting of mini-meals spread through the day will help control hunger and calorie intake, leading to faster weight loss.

Due to our work schedules and other daily activities, many of us find it very hard to follow strict diets, and some may even convince themselves that building muscle is not for them. But here I come, to bring you this video with the best, highly practical and simple tips that will make your muscles grow once and for all in a way that is in sync with your busy lifestyle. 3 Goals to Go After Your diet must meet these 3 objectives: 1) Provide your body with the nutrients it needs in order to recover and grow. This may seem obvious, but it is VERY IMPORTANT. If your body can´t find enough proteins, fat, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals to sustain itself, it can hardly be expected to build massive muscles. 2) Boost your natural anabolic hormone levels. Testosterone is THE main anabolic hormone, but growth hormones also help forge muscle. If your anabolic hormone level is low throughout the day, you will build very little muscle. This is why the food you eat must raise the levels of these hormones. 3) Decrease catabolic hormone levels Cortisol is the queen of catabolic hormones. These hormones are responsible for turning muscle into energy (decreasing them while at it) and accumulating body fat. Your diet must avoid reaching high levels of these hormones, because otherwise, all your efforts will be in vain. Now, 9 simple tips to put these 3 objectives into practice: 1- Add the following foods to your diet in order to gain muscle and burn fat: fish, whole eggs, egg whites, oats, potatoes (not fried), yogurt, walnuts, almonds, peanuts, broccoli, olive oil and green tea. 2- Breakfast abundantly, as it is one of the 2 most important meals of the day. Make sure to include a good amount of proteins, as well as fat (animal and vegetable) and complex carbohydrates. 3- Your second most important meal of the day is the one you have 15-30 minutes after working out. At this moment, your body is in a critical state known for its high catabolic hormone level; which means you must consume simple carbohydrates (I strongly recommend honey) along with proteins (such as whey protein, one of the only supplements that actually work, or boiled egg whites). 4- Make sure that you consume both vegetable and animal fats throughout the day. Doing this increases testosterone levels noticeably, helps build muscle, and reduces body fat. 5- Some foods with healthy vegetable fat you should eat are walnuts, peanuts, olive oil, and avocados. 6- Have foods with healthy animal fats: whole eggs, chicken breast, fish, and lean red meat. 7- Eat every 3 hours, having 6 meals a days is the best-case scenario. 8- If you are not able to cook very elaborate meals, such as if you must lunch at work, prepare a shake and carry it in a bottle. Include fresh fruit, oats, dried fruits and yogurt. Another great snack to take along with you are egg, tuna or chicken breast sandwiches on whole wheat bread. 9- Introduce these changes to your diet gradually: don't try to change it all from one day to next. However, if you’re an active person consuming 1600-2000 calories a day, you want carbohydrates to be about 40% of your overall intake of calories, 30% protein, and 30% fat. These numbers can fluctuate depending on if you’re trying to burn fat, build muscle, or just stay fueled. In general, the amount of carbs you consume per day should be between 500-800 calories, which is 120-200g of carbohydrates. A lot of people today are saying carbs are bad for you. However, carbohydrates are important for energy and cellular function. They can be harmful if you overload on carbohydrates, which is what a lot of people do today. I would encourage you to start a food diary for 3-7 days and write down what you're eating on a daily basis. Then monitor your daily overall intake of fat, protein, and carbohydrates and see how your body does. Then, try adjusting these proportions based on what you’re trying to achieve. Try getting more grass-fed animal products, more fruits, more vegetables, more sprouted nuts and seeds, more coconut products, more raw fermented dairy products and overall real foods. Tip If the 150-pound woman is active four days a week, her activity level would be moderate. Multiplying her basal metabolic rate of 1,472 by 1.55 gives her a calculation of 2,281.6. Step 6: Calculation equals the total calories to maintain weight Factor the basal metabolic rate by the activity factor to give you the number of calories per day you can eat to maintain your current weight. If you weigh 160 pounds, I would recommend 80 grams of protein a day in your diet. If you’re trying to burn fat, I would recommend 75% of your body weight in protein in grams a day because you’re going to replace extra carbohydrates in your diet and consume more protein to burn more fat. If you weigh 160 pounds, then you would consume 100-120 grams of protein a day. If you’re trying to build muscle, I would recommend consuming 100% of your body weight in protein in grams a day.
