It is a fat soluble compound which generally acts as an anti-oxidant. You may also hear it referred to as tocopherol or tocotrienol, alpha tocopherol being the most important form. The therapeutic benefits of supplementing with vitamin E appear to be few, if any. It's effects on cancer as a whole are not well understood and the evidence to support supplementing for this purpose are insufficient. One large scale study was stopped because it was found to increase the risk of prostate cancer. The Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) is 15 mg per day in adolescents and young adults, although supplementation is not recommended for the general population Vitamin E has may be referred to other names including tocopherol, tocotrienol, alpha tocopherol, and gamma tocopherol. It is a known antioxidant against reactive oxygen species.

Vitamin E - High Yield Review

14:56
In this video I have done a high yeild review on tocopherol the vitamin E. Vitamin E is a collective term for tocopherols and tocotrienols. Alpha tocopherol is biologically most active form of tocopherol and is a powerful reactive oxygen species scavenger, that is tocopherol has antioxidant property. tocopherol prevents lipid peroxidation. it prevents LDL oxidation and thereby atherosclerosis. Deficiency of tocopherol is seen in lipid malabsorption disorders like cystic fibrosis. Tocopherol deficiency leads to spinocerebellar ataxia, hemolytic anemia, skelatal myopathy, retinopathy, polyneuropathy. Vitamin/Supplment Safety Part 1 Vitamin E

07:06
The issue of vitamin and supplement safety continues to be a popular item in the national media. When you are confronted with these articles, keep in mind a couple of key points. #1 newspapers, radio, TV etc. exist to sell advertising space. It is far more effective to keep you afraid because you will be more likely to be drawn to the story if fear is involved. #2 Pharmaceutical companies make money on your misery. A healthy person is their great enemy. Let's jump right to the conclusion and for that I am quoting Michael Long, ND of Optimum Integrative Health. "Even with totally irresponsible use, you would be hard pressed to be killed by your vitamins... In truth, studies are published every day showing the safety and health promoting effects of vitamins, especially when used responsibly (i.e. used for a specific purpose, after objective testing showed a deficiency), and according to the evidence. If you want to focus on something that will actually kill you, open your medicine cabinet and look at the drugs that stare back at you. Close to 1 million people die in North America every year as a direct result of adverse effects from prescription drugs. The safety record of pharmaceutical drugs is not even comparable to vitamins." The European Union has put a number of the likelihood of problems from taking supplements. Their data has suggested that pharmaceutical agents are 62,000 times more likely to cause serious harm or death than supplements. To put that in perspective let's say that if one person died of taking some supplement or vitamin, at the same time the entire population of the Carson Valley in Nevada would be wiped out. If that doesn't convince you of supplement safety, consider that you are more likely to drown in your bathtub than die of taking a vitamin or supplement. I will divide this talk into two parts, one to deal with vitamin E and prostate cancer and one to discuss fish oil and prostate cancer. The topic of vitamin E and prostate cancer reverberates around the web from some "studies" completed in 2011. From this study, men taking vitamin E were 17% more likely to contract prostate cancer than those who didn't. Sounds ominous, doesn't it? Doctors around the country picked up on this news and told their patients and many doctors went on talk shows and had interviews with high profile TV shows to sound the alarm. This study used a form of E called all-rac-alpha-tocopheryl acetate that has little or nothing to do with natural mixed tocopherols that you get from quality supplement companies. The medical community at large continues to show a surprising level of ignorance when talking about synthetic versus natural vitamins. This doesn't make sense considering how much these doctors pay attention to detail when it comes to selecting a new putter. These same doctors would be horrified to find that their new Jaguar had its leather seats replaced with vinyl. But when it comes to selecting vitamins for a study, any cheap vitamin variant will do. Several sources have listed this all-rac-alpha tocopheryl acetate form of vitamin as having significant health problems. Now we can add another, increased risk of prostate cancer. So don't make the same mistake and confuse a natural form of vitamin E with its synthetic counterparts. It is also important to get mixed tocopherols as the alpha form can displace the gamma tocopherol that has significant anti-cancer properties. We have known since the 1990's that too much alpha tocopherol can be a problem. One study at the Johns Hopkins School of public health showed that men with the highest levels of gamma tocopherols had a five-fold decrease in prostate cancer. By selecting the alpha form of this vitamin imposter, cancer increased for two probably reasons. One is the reduction of the protective gamma tocopherol and also the action of a petro-chemical toxin. Remember I said that a healthy person is a great enemy of the big pharma. The FDA is taking steps to pull helpful supplements off the market and it appears that they are using these poor research projects as ammo to help promote this cause. At OVitaminPro.com our priority is providing you with confidence that your supplements are of the highest quality. If you are working with us, we will take great care to be sure that you are getting the supplements that will move your health in the proper direction.

How to Use Vitamin E Capsules on Skin | Skin Care

00:57
Watch more Natural Skin Care videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/502209-How-to-Use-Vitamin-E-Capsules-on-Skin-Skin-Care Vitamin E is an excellent anti-aging ingredient that promotes cellular regeneration. In this video, organic beauty products expert Spirit Demerson explains what kind to buy and how to use it. You can use Vitamin E capsules on your skin. Vitamin E is an excellent anti-aging ingredient for the skin and it promotes cellular regenerations so it helps healing of the skin. The other great thing about Vitamin E capsules is that there are other plant oils that are great for the skin that are rich in Vitamin E but Vitamin E capsules are so widely available you can even pick them up when you're traveling. If you're using Vitamin E for your skin, you want to make sure the bottle specifies that it's natural Vitamin E and not synthetic which has actually been linked to cell damage. Vitamin E gel caps can simply be split open with a knife and the oil inside can be applied directly to the skin. Vitamin E is irritating to some skin types so make sure you do a patch test first.

Most of the health benefits of vitamin E described above come from studies involving only form of vitamin E called alpha-tocopherol, which is only one of eight forms. Recently, researchers have focused more attention on other forms of vitamin E as well, with particular focus on tocotrienol, which some consider the “the 21st century vitamin E.” (9) Alpha- and beta-tocotrienols have been found to be the least active forms overall, while delta- and gamma-tocotrienols are the most active. Recent findings suggest that it’s not that alpha-tocopherol is harmful, but it may interfere with absorption of other forms of vitamin E, including other tocopherols and tocotrienols that are needed for heart and cognitive health. (10) Vitamin E deficiencies (meaning intake of all isomers) have long been thought to be rare, and when they do happen, it’s commonly believed that it’s almost never caused by a poor diet. However, some experts believe that many people today are actually not getting enough vitamin E from their diets in natural form, especially too little tocotrienols. There are specific situations that may lead to a vitamin E deficiency due to malfunctions in terms of how nutrients are absorbed. A premature infant who is born weighing less than 3.5 pounds is in danger of a vitamin E deficiency, but a pediatrician who specializes in the care of newborns will typically evaluate the nutritional needs of an infant to help spot and treat this early. People with fat absorption problems, which is a common problem for those who struggle with inflammatory bowel disease, may also struggle with a vitamin E deficiency in some cases.

Vitamin E Benefits for Men

02:40
The Benefits of Vitamin E for Men Vitamin E is comprised of a group of fat-soluble compounds that have antioxidant properties. It is found naturally in many foods, and it can also be added to the foods or used as a supplement. The most active form of vitamin E is Alpha-tocopherol, and it is the most 'popular' form. Vitamin E plays an important role in maintaining our health, though its deficiency is rare. Its main role is an antioxidant, and it prevents the oxidation of bad cholesterol (LDL), which is responsible for plaque buildup in the arteries. Due to its antioxidant properties, vitamin E protects cells from the damage, caused by free radicals, which can lead to heart disease, stroke and cancer. The Benefits of Vitamin E for Men 1. Heart Disease Prevention According to a Finnish study, people with higher vitamin E intakes, have lower mortality rate from coronary heart disease. But this study refers to the cases where food was used as a source for vitamin E, and the result may not be the same for the supplements. 2. Cancer Protection Free radical damage is the common cause for cancer development. Vitamin E may have an ability to prevent the cancer formation in the stomach, along with stimulating the body’s immune function. 3. Prevention of Cataracts According to one study, the lens clarity was better in those people, who had higher levels of vitamin E in their blood. The interesting thing is that this effect was not confirmed in smokers, which could mean that smoking prevents the body from getting the benefits of vitamin E. 4. Male Fertility For a successful conception, there must be enough sperm and it must have energy and motility to get the job done. Research shows that there is some correlation between the proper levels of vitamin E and the overall sperm health. 5. Skin Health Antioxidant properties of Vitamin E protect the skin from premature aging, and help maintain its health and elasticity. #menshealth #vitamine #cancer #cataracts #heartdisease #malefertility #vitamins ------------------------------- In our channel "Agnistoka: you will find more interesting and useful videos on yoga, ayurveda, better health and self-development. What is Vitamin E?

ADD YOUR SUCCESS STORY: https://www.drberg.com/add-client-success-story Take Dr. Berg's Free Keto Mini-Course: http://pxlme.me/-i717vtY or go here: https://www.drberg.com/how-to-do-ketosis Download Keto Essentials https://m.me/drericberg?ref=w2128577 In this video, Dr. Berg talks about Vitamin E. Vitamin E is essential for heart health and the way that you become deficient in vitamin E mostly is by consuming refined carbohydrates in the form of breads, pasta, cereal, crackers, etc. Vitamin E is unique as it can travel right through the cell. Make sure to get the whole vitamin E complex and not just the individual. He also talks about the different parts of vitamin E complex. Different Parts of Vitamin E Complex: • Alpha Tocopherol – this is mainly used by the liver. This antioxidant travels with LDL or the low density lipoprotein. LDL is protein that is carrying cholesterol, triglycerides, vitamin E and other fat soluble vitamins. LDL then helps protect the arteries, to help the cholesterol from being oxidized, it can also help decrease the risk of heart disease, stroke, and cancer because it is an antioxidant. • Gamma Tocopherol – This antioxidant has protective factors against smoke. Gamma Tocopherol helps protect the risk of cancer. But when you smoke, this deplete this antioxidant at the same time. This antioxidant also helps decrease certain risk of cancer and supports arteries. • Tocotrienols – This helps support cholesterol or lipids, it also helps decrease breast cancer and is very important to the skin health. Source of Vitamin E: • Wheat Germ Oil • Seeds • Nuts • Vegetables I wanna touch on vitamin E. Vitamin E is really essential to heart health. The way you become deficient in vitamin E is mostly by consuming refined carbohydrates in the form of breads, pasta, cereal, crackers, biscuits, waffles, pancakes, things like that. Vitamin E is unique as it can travel right through the cell, other antioxidants can't quite do that. Now there are different parts of vitamin E complex and I always recommend when you get vitamin E make sure you get it in the complex and not as one fraction apart of vitamin E complex. I will not just get Alpha Tocopherol, I wanna get the whole complex. Alpha Tocopherol is mainly used by the liver and this antioxidant could not just travel on its own, it needs a shuttle. It actually hops on board with the LDL. low density lipoprotein, this are called bad cholesterol. Well guess what? This antioxidant is inside this shuttle bus, LDL is basically a protein that is carrying cholesterol, triglycerides, vitamin E and other fat soluble vitamins. It is not cholesterol by itself, it is a protein carrier. So what happens is this (Alpha Tocopherol ) antioxidants is inside this shuttle bus to help protect the arteries, to help the cholesterol from being oxidized, it can also help decrease the risk of heart disease, stroke, and cancer because it is an antioxidant and all of these three types of conditions start out with all these oxidation or break down or free radical damage. Then you have something called Gamma Tocopherol. This antioxidant has protective factors against smoke but Gamma Tocopherol helps protect or decrease the risk of cancer somewhat. The other thing is when you smoke, this deplete this antioxidant at the same time. What Is Vitamin E? Why Is Vitamin E Necessary? Facts About Vitamin E

08:14
What Is Vitamin E? Why Is Vitamin E Necessary? Facts About Vitamin E What Is Vitamin E? Vitamin E is a powerful, fat-soluble antioxidant that helps protect cell membranes against damage caused by free radicals and prevents the oxidation of LDL cholesterol. The term vitamin E encompasses a group of eight compounds, called tocopherols and tocotrienols, with various subsets of each, that comprise the vitamin complex as it is found in nature. Each of these different compounds have distinct chemistries and biological effects. Why Is Vitamin E Necessary? Vitamin E is necessary for structural and functional maintenance of skeletal, cardiac, and smooth muscle. It also assists in the formation of red blood cells and helps to maintain stores of vitamins A and K, iron, and selenium. It may have a positive effect on immune health, protect against the oxidative damage that can lead to heart disease, have preventive effects against cancer, help relieve symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease, and may help prevent some diabetes-related damage, particularly to the eyes. What Are The Symptoms Associated With A Vitamin E Deficiency? vitamin e deficiency Symptoms of a vitamin E deficiency include greasy stools, chronic diarrhea, and an inability to secrete bile. Traditionally upheld is the belief that vitamin E deficiency is rare in humans. People who cannot absorb dietary fat or who have rare disorders of fat metabolism cannot absorb vitamin E. In addition, premature or very low birth weight infants (less than 3.5 lbs) and individuals with rare genetic abnormalities in the alpha-tocopherol transfer protein may also be at risk for a vitamin E deficiency. However, a 2015 study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition suggests that vitamin E deficiency might be more common than we thought. Those with metabolic syndrome, approximately one of three people in the United States, could be chronically deficient in vitamin E. Its findings suggest that while vitamin E appears to be readily available in the bloodstream of those with metabolic syndrome, it’s not finding its way to the tissues where it’s needed, resulting in a hidden deficiency. More research needs to be done, but these preliminary findings underscore the importance of this essential vitamin. How Much Vitamin E Does An Adult Need? According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the U.S. Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) for adults older than 14-years is 15 mg (or 22.4 IU); pregnant women of any age should get 15 mg (or 22.4 IU); and breastfeeding women of any age should take 19 mg (or 28.4 IU). Dr. Weil recommends supplementing with vitamin E that provides a minimum daily dose of 80 mg of the whole complex, including the four mixed tocopherols as well as the four mixed tocotrienols. It should provide at least 10 mg of tocotrienols. If you can’t find that, look for a product with mixed natural tocopherols (up to 400 IU daily). Avoid dl-alpha-tocopherol, the synthetic form. How Much Vitamin E Does A Child Need? The NIH’s RDA and Adequate Intake (AI): Infants 0-6 months, 4 mg/day (6 IU/day) Infants 7-12 months 5 mg/day (7.5 IU/day) children 1-3 years, 6 mg/day (9 IU/day) children 4-8 years, 7 mg/day (10.4 IU/day) children 9-13 years, 11 mg/day (16.4 IU/day) How Do You Get Enough Vitamin E From Food? Good vitamin E food sources include vegetable oils, avocados, spinach, sunflower seeds, wheat germ, nuts, and whole grains. Risks Associated With Too Much Vitamin E Except for an anticoagulant effect, vitamin E has no known toxicity or side effects. There was a meta-analysis conducted by John Hopkins in 2004 that raised some concern about higher daily intakes, but this was most likely associated with pre-existing health conditions. Vitamin E in very high doses may interfere with the body’s ability to clot blood, posing a risk to people already taking prescribed blood thinners. Benefits Of Vitamin E For Men Vitamin E is comprised of a group of fat-soluble compounds that have antioxidant properties. 5.
