For many different reasons you may have decided to pursue a course of birth control pills, and for a variety of other reasons, you may have decided to stop taking them. However, when you stop taking "The Pill" you risk a major acne breakout. The good news is that it's treatable. In this episode of DermTV, Dr. Schultz discusses the causes of post birth control pill acne as well as how to treat post birth control pill acne. Subscribe to DermTV: http://www.youtube.com/dermtvdotcom http://DermTV.com Connect with DermTV: http://www.facebook.com/dermtv http://www.twitter.com/dermtv [TRANSCRIPT] There are lots of ways to treat acne breakouts, such as with topical skincare products, pills, and even treatments in a dermatologist's office. Amongst the pills, some birth control pills can control acne completely, and a few, like Ortho Tri-Cyclen, are even FDA approved for treating acne. But if you're taking an acne friendly birth control pill, and you decide to stop it, you risk a major acne breakout. Today I'll tell you how to treat it if it happens to you. Stopping birth control pills can cause major acne breakouts because the extra estrogens in the pill partially suppress your androgens, which are the hormones that cause excess oil production... and excess oil production is the root cause of acne. So stopping the Pill causes oil production to rapidly ramp up. Then add previously idle pore bacteria, which now have this new surge of oil to feast on, and the pus pimples and cysts are off and running, causing the exasperating outbreaks. Controlling this unwelcomed regression to aggressive adolescent acne often requires a three-pronged approach. First, you need a regular, topical routine consisting of an acne cleanser and toner, along with spot treatments for individual blemishes. These treatments can contain topical antibiotics, salicylic acid, resorcinol, benzoyl peroxide, or other pimple fighting ingredients. Also be sure to apply a light-weight glycolic serum or lotion to your entire face at bedtime to help prevent and treat clogs. Second, you'll probably need oral antibiotics to neutralize the pus and cyst-forming potential of the flourishing pore bacteria. And third, regular visits to a dermatologist to clean out clogs, pimples and cysts will result in faster control. Yes, you've substituted one pill for another, but the antibiotic is only temporary and can be discontinued after your post-Pill acne is finally under control. Which can take just a few months! [ABOUT DERMTV] Everyone can have beautiful, healthy, and younger looking skin, and DermTV, the Internet's daily skincare video show, will demonstrate how by revealing expert tips and techniques and by providing real solutions for real skincare issues. 10 Side Effects of Birth Control Pills that Your Doctor May Not Tell You Birth control pills, commonly referred to as “the pill,” are considered one of the safest methods to prevent unintended pregnancy. They are a highly effective contraceptive when taken correctly (at the same time daily). According to a 2012 National Health Statistics Reports, 62 percent of women of reproductive age were using contraception between 2006 and 2010. There are two types of contraceptive pills, both of which consist of synthetic forms of hormones produced naturally in the body. The pills either contain progestin alone or estrogen and progestin together. These hormones regulate a woman’s menstrual cycle, and their fluctuating levels play an essential role in fertility. Apart from preventing pregnancy, there are many pros of using birth control pills, including reduced menstrual cramping, regularity of menstrual cycle, acne-free skin, and lower risk of ovarian cysts as well as ovarian and endometrial cancer. However, birth control pills can have many side effects, which doctors may not tell you. Before starting on a pill, it is important to understand both the pros as well as the cons.

Diane 35 for 500 pesos only 3 Boxes and up for 450 pesos each only (Mercury Drug Price= 750) MANUFACTURED IN BRAZIL IMPORTED IN THAILAND 21pills/banig (1month cycle) Diane 35 is an oral birth control medication which is also used to treat acne. There are several side effects associated with the use of this pill. It is important to consult with your physician concerning the risks and also report any form of side effects immediately. This birth control pill is available in Europe, Asia and Canada. It is not available in the United States. What are the uses of the pills? What are the possible side effects? **What Are the Uses of Diane 35? The Diane 35 pills can be used for the following: Pregnancy prevention Treating symptoms associated with PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder) in women who prefer using oral contraception methods Treatment of moderate acne in women above the age of 14 For women who experience painful, heavy and irregular periods **How does Diane 35 Work? Diane 35 pills are classified as oral contraceptives. This is a daily hormone intake that makes the body think that ovulation has begun. This ensures that eggs in the ovaries do not mature preventing them from being released each month. The hormones also thicken the mucus on the walls of the womb making it hard for sperm to cross to the womb for fertilization. The Diane 35 pills also make the lining of the uterus unsuitable for implantation of the egg in case fertilization occurs. **How Should You Take Diane 35 Pills? It is advisable to have a pill of Diane 35 every day with a glass of water. Make sure you take the medication at the same time each day. Each Diane 35 pills pack has 21 pills for 21 days every month. You are then allowed seven days off before you can begin taking the pills again. These seven days are the time you should have your menses. You are required to begin taking the pills on the eighth day even if you are still on your period. In case you experience diarrhea or vomiting within 4 hours of taking the pill, treat this as a missed dose. Use emergency contraceptive methods for the following seven days. The Diane 35 pills should be taken on a continuous basis for effectiveness. If Diane 35 pills are used for treatment of hirsutism or acne, you may have to take the pills for several months before the condition clears. Avoid using an additional contraception pills. This exposes you to over-dose of hormones. **How Long Should You Take Diane 35 Pills? It is important that you take the Diane 35 pills for as long as it is recommended by the doctor for effective contraception method or acne treatment. After a few months, the acne will disappear. However, for severe acne, you may be required to take the pills for longer. Even after the acne has healed, you may have to remain under the pill for a few more months. After these months have lapsed, you will be required to start using another type of contraceptive pill. Watch more How to Pick a Birth Control Method videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/510802-Benefits-of-Birth-Control-Birth-Control Learn about the benefits of birth control in this Howcast video. Aside from preventing pregnancy, depending on the birth control option that you use, there are lots of benefits related to birth control use. Some of the pills that you use will make your periods very, very short and very light and predictable. They prevent endometrial and ovarian cancer. And if you're going on a cruise with your boyfriend and you decide you don't want to have your period that month, you can take the pills continuously, skip the placebo, and start a new pack of pills, and you don't get your period that month. And while that sounds strange and concerning that you don't get your period, it is perfectly safe to skip your period so long as you're taking your pills consistently. And there are other forms of birth control that you can use that can have the same benefits as well. My favorite benefit of birth control is what it does for your skin. The birth control options that have the best effect on your skin, meaning that you have the least amount of acne, are birth control options that have both estrogen and progesterone. These birth control options do wonderful things for your skin. The changes in your hormones that cause you to have changes in your skin are no longer a problem when you take combined hormonal birth control options.

Simple handwritten Contraceptive (Birth Control) lecture for medical students taking the USMLE. Will be looking at how contraceptives work and the pharmacology. Also the different contraception methods, such as Oral contraceptive, Intrauterine Devices, Implants. Contraception is a method of females to prevent pregnancies. There are several contraceptive methods, however, there is no 100% full proof method. Tier 1 failure rate is less than 1%, Tier 2 have a contraceptive failure rate 2-3% and finally tier 3 is the barrier method and they are about 80% effective. Tier 1 is made up of Intrauterine devices (mirena, Copper), DMPA, Implanon (subcutaenous) and sterilization (tubal ligation or vesectomy). Tier 2 are the Oral Contraceptive Pills, Patches and Rings, and they are made up of comboniation or just progesterone. Tier 3 is the barrier methods include condoms, diaphragm and the spermicidies which prevents implantation. Can also prevent STDs and HPV. Intrauterine devices are implantedin the uterus. They are made up of mirena and copper. Mirena secretes levonogestrel which is a type of progesterone that has three effects. Thickens the cervical mucosa which prevents sperm form ascending into the uterus. The endometrial wall is also thickened that decreases the chance of implantation. Increase tubal motility so it is not in blastocyst and it can't implant into endometrium. Copper Intrauterine device leads to inflammation response which causes the same effects. Mirena can work up to five years, whereas copper can work for 10 years. In Mirena there will be decrease bleeding and cramping. However, Copper can increase bleeding and cramping. Contra-indications to Intrauterine Devices is pregnancy, history of breast cancer, leiomyomas, any uterine infection such as PID and endometritis, especially chlamydia. Any bleeding where the cause is unknown. Relative complications are anatomical uterine anomalies (size and shape), Heart Disease because sometimes perforates and then bleeding can affect the heart. Any history of ectopic pregnancy. Finally there may be complications such as expulsion of the device within 1 month. Perforation, ectopic pregnancy, infection (PID) which usually happens within first 2 months. Sterilization and generally irreversible. Tubal ligation and vesectomy are the two methods. Vesectomies are more effective. TIER 2 are the hormonal methods there are two types which are known as combined and progesterone only. In combined there is pill patch and ring. In Progesterone only there is pill injection and implant. No LH surge means there is no ovulation and there is atrophy of the endometrium and therefore there is no implantation possible. Cervix becomes thick and edematous and prevents sperm from coming in. Combined method is when there is estrogen and progesterone. The pill can begin any day however effects won't begin for 7 days. 21 days and 7 days off. Off days are for the withdrawal bleed. Also helps regulate and normalize the menstrual cycle. The nuvaring enters the vagina and slowly releases estrogen and progesterone. Every three weeks it needs to be removed for 1 week. Patch also slowly release estrogen and progesterone under the skin which gives 60% greater than pills. Progestin only method in pill form is a daily pill that is continuous which causes irregular breakthrough bleeding. Injection form Depo-Medroxyprogesterone Acetate (DMPA) is injected into the skin and slowly released and it lasts for three months. Implanon is implanted subcutaneously and slowly releases etanogestrol and lasts for 3 years.

To pill or not to pill? That is the question. Hormonal Birth Control Pills Hormonal or chemical birth control pills will be explained in this video, with the pros and cons of each type. But before I demonstrate the different types, I would like to explain to you how hormonal birth control pills work. When a lady is pregnant, ovulation (or egg release) does not occur. That’s how our body’s system normally works. The hormones in a woman’s body are balanced in a certain way that makes the hormones that stimulate the release of the eggs – called the ovulation hormones – to become inactive during pregnancy. So we thought: If we give the woman pregnancy hormones in pills, we will be able to inhibit ovulation, in other words: to stop it from happening, which, in turn, would prevent the pregnancy to occur. So the scientists decided to put the pregnancy hormone and the female hormone in a pill. This gives us an idea about the first type of birth control pills. This type consists of synthet-ic forms of hormones – the pregnancy hormone progesterone (called progestin) and the female hormone oestrogen. On the other hand there’s another type of birth control pills that consists of the pregnancy hormone only, and in a very small amount. It is called the mini Pill or the Progesterone-Only Pill (P.O.P.). The pills I will talk about are not the only hormonal birth control methods. We can take other forms of chemical or birth control at the doctor’s office, which would have the same mechanism of action. So, back to the pills. Let me explain them now. Let’s start with a combined pill. “Combined” because it has a combination of hormones. Let’s know more about it. The combined pill consists of progestin – a synthetic progester-one (the pregnancy hormone) – and oestrogen (the female hormone). You will need to take a pill daily for 21 days, starting from the 7th day of your menstruation. Even if you’re still bleeding, you must start using the pill. Take a pill daily for 21 days and stop the pill for 7 days, taking into consideration that your period cycle is 28 days. The combined pill is a good birth control choice in cases of: • You don’t mind to take hormones for birth control • You usually suffer from pains [I’m not sure about what comes here → 2:40] during menstruating, since it will ease the dysmenorrhea. • If your period is not regular, this will regulate it. • You bleed heavily during the period: it will decrease the amount of bleeding, which in turn might prevent you from becoming anaemic. • If you have acne: this might improve your skin condition. • You’re not a smoker The combined pills are not good if you … don’t wish to take any hormones … are Breastfeeding … are a heart patient … have hypertension or high blood pressure … have risk of thrombosis or atherosclerosis … have had diabetes for more than 20 years … have a liver or gall bladder disease … have a history of breast cancer in the past 5 years … are suffering from recurrent migraines or have the symptoms that proceed mi-graine, called the aura … are overweight … have been taking medications such as antibiotics, epilepsy medications or anti-depressants All these may weaken the effect of the combined pill. Always read the patient in-formation leaflets. This birth control method is 99% effective, on condition that the pill is taken on the same time every day. The other type is the mini Pill or the pill that... This is the English Version of the video. You can watch the Bulgarian version by simply fallowing my page! Hi everyone - So I finally got my hands on Yasmin birth control pills for good or lets hope for good. I do have a hormonal dis-balance which I need to take care of and my gynecologists prescribed these to me. I want to mention that my problem is a light form of hersoitism and ovarian cysts that are considered hormonal dis balance. Now I am very sensitive to the male hormone in my body and I need to create more female hormones so that I can stop gaining weight or getting unwanted hair on places women shouldn't get. I wanted to start the course earlier but I was prescribed Diane 35 a different birth control pill that was not good for me. It made my lymph nodes swallen and very painfull an dmy menstrual cycle went really bad. So I wanted something lighter especially when I have lost my mom of breast cancer. I am still consernd about that though but I have no other choice than taking hormone pills. So If you have any diea what are the side effects, if you took them on a long run please share with me here your impression. That will not only help me but a lot of young women that are just starting to take Yasmin for first time. Thank you for the comments and have a blessed May - Natalie p.s. Oral Contraceptives (OC) or Birth Control Pills are known to have numerous side effects that are very well known to us, but recently medical professionals started to see more and more ER, PR-(neg) breast cancer (Estrogen Receptor, Progesterone Receptor) The reason for the increase of this type of Breast Cancer is unknown. Here is one possible contributing factor: oral contraceptives. I found few interesting articles on this topic: 1. "Long-term use of contemporary OCs and current use for ≥ 5 years was associated with an increased breast cancer risk among women ages 20 to 44. Risk may be greater among younger women and for ER(-) and triple-negative breast cancer, but these findings require confirmation." read it here https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=24633144 2. “Results indicate that the oral contraceptive formulations used in recent decades increase breast cancer risk in African American women, with a greater effect for ER(-) than ER(+) cancer. Mechanisms to explain the adverse influence of oral contraceptive use on ER(-) breast cancer need to be elucidated.” Read it here: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20647407 In this video i talked briefly about other contraceptive possibilities Stay healthy Doctor Veronica

OVARIAN CYSTS TREATMENTS An Open Letter to Any Woman Looking for Effective Relief From Ovarian Cyst Symptoms Without Resorting to Birth Control Pills, Pain Killers, or Surgery” http://www.mojoreview.club/ovarian Ovarian cysts are fluid-filled growths in a woman’s ovaries. The development of an ovarian cyst/s may happen in just one or both of the ovaries. Usually ovarian cysts are harmless and will go away on their own, but sometimes ovarian cysts can become so large that they rupture, or cause damage to the ovary. Very large ovarian cysts can cause displacement of the reproductive organs. Damage from a ruptured ovarian cyst may cause scar tissue build-up, and/or the formation of adhesions, attaching the ovary to other parts of the internal body. Ovarian cysts are most common in women of childbearing years, but can rarely develop in postmenopausal women. A woman’s ovaries are about the size and shape of an almond. It is amazing that something so small and delicate can hold thousands of eggs at birth. It is also quite amazing that something so small can develop a cyst. Thankfully, there are natural remedies that can help the body to rid itself of the cysts naturally, without surgery. Types of Ovarian Cysts Functional Ovarian Cysts A woman’s ovaries contain thousands of follicles that house immature eggs (ovum). During the menstrual cycle each month, as ovulation nears, a select number of follicles are signaled to grow (mature) for ovulation. An ovarian cyst that forms due to a malfunction in follicle maturation is known as a functional cyst. There are two types of functional cysts: Follicular cyst: This happens when the follicle fails to rupture and release the egg at ovulation, instead it continues to grow, forming a cyst. Corpus Luteum cyst: After ovulation, once the egg is released, the follicle changes to what is called the corpus luteum. The development of a corpus luteum cyst happens when the opening in the follicle where the egg was released seals off and then causes the corpus luteum to accumulate fluid and grow into a cyst. Other Types of Ovarian Cysts There are other types of cysts that form on the ovaries, but they are not related to the menstrual cycle. _________________________________________________________________ ovarian cysts treatments at home, ovarian cyst treatments alternative, ovary cyst treatments, ovarian cysts treatment options, ovarian cysts treatment natural, ovarian cysts treatment for pain, ovarian cysts treatment without surgery, ovarian cysts treatment during pregnancy, ovarian cysts treatment cost, ovarian cyst treatment guidelines, ovarian cysts symptoms, ovarian cysts pain, ovarian cysts causes, ovarian cysts cure, how to cure ovarian cysts, how to treat ovary cysts, _________________________________________________________________ Dermoid cyst: These cysts are considered complex and develop from cells that produce human eggs. Because of this, these types of cyst may contain hair, teeth, or skin. They are rarely cancerous. Cystadenomas: This type of cyst develops from ovarian tissue and is filled with liquid or mucous. Endometriomas: This type of cyst forms when displaced endometrial cells attach to the ovary and form a growth (endometriosis). This type of ovarian cyst is commonly called a chocolate cyst. Polycystic ovaries: A polycystic ovary develops many small cysts in a row, on the surface of the ovary, which looks like a strand of pearls. Polycystic ovaries are associated with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). In the case of polycystic ovaries, the ovaries may become enlarged, typically twice the size of normal ovaries. PCOS is fast becoming a leading endocrine disorder among women. Not all women diagnosed with PCOS have ovaries that have these types of cysts. What Causes Ovarian Cysts? • Irregular menstrual cycles • Hormonal imbalance • Hypothyroidism • Cigarette smoking • Early menstruation (11 years or younger) • BMI above 30 • Infertility treatment with gonadotropins has been found to cause multiple large ovarian cysts in some women • Use of Clomiphene (Clomid, Serophene) has been shown to increase the risk for development of Corpus Luteum cysts • Use of Tamoxifen for breast cancer Signs and Symptoms of Ovarian Cysts Most women that have ovarian cysts don’t even know; typically there are no signs or symptoms. Most ovarian cysts are discovered during a routine physical exam. intro music Credits : http://www.accelerated-ideas.com/freemusictracks/aisearchtracks.aspx?stxt=intro Ending Voice : http://www.fromtexttospeech.com/ And http://www.accelerated-ideas.com/freemusictracks/aisearchtracks.aspx?stxt=intro Subscribe us: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCc-Np29NUqD7QBQVtMe2LeA/videos

Watch more How to Pick a Birth Control Method videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/510835-What-Is-Yaz-Birth-Control Learn what Yaz is in this Howcast video about birth control. Yaz is a combined birth control pill that has both estrogen and drospirenone. You may not be familiar with the name drospirenone, but it causes the same effect on the lining of the uterus as progesterone, but the medication is different. If you are considering Yaz as a form of birth control, talk to your doctor or your nurse practitioner. Although it is a slightly different formulation than your everyday birth control pill, it is equally as effective as the birth control pills you're familiar with. Some of you may be wondering what is the difference between Yaz and Yasmin. More importantly, what is the difference between Yaz, Yasmin, and the birth control pills that you may be taking? Yaz and Yasmin have estrogen, just like the regular birth control pills you're familiar with. The difference is that the Yaz and the Yazmin have drospirenone. That component of the birth control pill is different than the regular birth control pills you may be familiar with. The difference between the Yaz and the Yasmin, however, although they both contain estrogen and drospirenone, the balance between estrogen and progesterone are different and the amount of active pills versus placebo pills are also different. If you are considering Yaz and Yasmin as a form of birth control pills for you, you may want to talk to your doctor or nurse practitioner about the difference between the Yaz and Yasmin. They're both equally as effective as the regular birth control pills that you're familiar with, but it may be a better birth control option for you.

05:38 - I am a 24 year old female with acne on my face, back and shoulders. My skin was clear before I went on the birth control pill at age 17, which I was only on for a few months. I also have very thin hair (both my parents have thick hair, so it's not genetic) My menstrual cycle is short and very painful. I was put on psych meds against my will from age 7 to 15 including topamax, lithium, abilify, seroquil and too many others to even remember. I was obese during this time and consumed a diet of mostly fried and processed meat. After getting myself off the drugs, I lost 100lbs, became anorexic and lost my menstrual cycle for three years. Today, I am a healthy weight (130lbs @ 5'3")but still have the issues I mentioned. Nothing very serious, but I'd like to take charge of my health while I still have youth on my side, before having children and before it gets more serious. 32:39: My question was : 'is it safe for a person to take upper circulation immediately after having a stroke with bleeding in the brain and when the parathyroid is low henve the weak connective tissue? Wouldn't a heavy flow of blood in the capillary cause them to break and hemorrhage again? 53:00 - Dawn - Could you please do an in-depth video on living with one kidney and adrenal? I truly believe in my heart that your protocol will and does work. However I have been struggling with it for over 5 years have spent thousands of dollars on herbs and consultations only to become discouraged and angry. I live in Michigan, had my kidney removed about 10-12 years ago due to kidney cancer. I currently I'm walking with a limp and loss of balance. Really need some help getting on compatible detox diet I have been unable to achieve any significant filtration. But I refuse to give up on this program cuz like I said I really believe it's the answer. Or maybe do you have someplace down there in Florida a person could come and stay to detox where the resources are readily available? I hope you're able to do it in depth video talking about what it's like living with one kidney and maybe in-depth diet suggestions other than just fruits Berry melons. 01:11:25 - Colleen - I have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Stage 2, in some of my lymphs. The National Health Service (NHS) are pushing for a mastectomy, I am trying to do tamaxafin for a few months to shrink the lump while doing the grape/melon/berry fast. 01:15:25 - If I have a couple of tattoos does that make it impossible for me to full detox? Or what kind of negative effects do tattoos have? 01:16:24 - First I have to say that you are amazing! Thank you for giving me hope for healing my husband and for knowledge. If my mom was still physically here she would be so happy to know that we think on a higher level. My husband has cirrhosis stage 4 liver failure, 29 ys old. And we need a little help with liver regeneration… 01:27:58 - Raphael - I am 23 years old. I had a hair transplant in Dec. 2015, but my hair is still going away the same way before it. I have hair loss since I was 18. All the male people in my family are balding at the 20's. I am getting frustrated over it…

When topicals just don't work, many dermatologists will recommend antiobiotics to treat their patients' acne. But if you take antibiotics and they cure your acne, do you have to then continue taking them forever? And how do you get the best improvement from antibiotics from acne? In this episode of DermTV, Dr. Schultz answers these questions. Connect with DermTV: http://www.facebook.com/dermtv http://www.twitter.com/dermtv [TRANSCRIPT] When topical products and treatments just don't bring my patients' acne under control, of the three most commonly used oral medications - antibiotics, birth control pills and Accutane - antibiotics are virtually always my go to first choice. Compared to the other two options, antibiotics have many fewer side effects, work faster - often in just a few weeks - and are easier to use. But when antibiotics actually do bring your acne under control, do you need to continue to take them forever? And if you do discontinue them, will your acne just rebound and breakout all over again? Fortunately, the answer to both is no. I like to explain this by saying that your skin has a memory. When it's "used" to breaking out, it continues to, and when it's used to not breaking out, it tends to stay clear for quite a while. For the scientists out there, you could call this the inertial theory of acne! So when your acne is controlled with antibiotics, and stays clear for a few weeks, you can gradually decrease the dose until you are no longer taking it and still maintain acne free skin. The theory is that when your skin has stopped breaking out and gotten used to not breaking out, by gradually decreasing the dose, you sort of "fool" the body into thinking you're still taking the full dose. So instead of taking a pill twice a day, you go down to once a day for two weeks, then perhaps once every other day for two weeks. And then, under your doctor's guidance, you can finally stop the antibiotic. By this time, your skin has gotten so used to not breaking out, that your acne stays quiet for at least many months and sometimes even longer. So if your dermatologist suggests treating your acne with oral antibiotics, give them a chance. The treatment will only be temporary, and you may well become acne free for a long time to come. For years women have been telling anecdotes about how they feel their personalities changed after going on the pill. Some of them experience serious mental health problems, which they believe is directly caused by taking hormonal contraception. A new review of 30 years of research has concluded that progestin contraceptives do not cause depression. The new study, published in the journal Contraception, concludes that progestin pills aren't linked to women developing depression at any age. This contradicts a large study from Denmark that found women had a 34% increased risk of depression by taking the pill. http://www.businessinsider.com/a-new-study-says-this-birth-control-pill-doesnt-cause-depression-2018-2 http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com

This animated video is an informative presentation that talks about a birth control method for Men- Vasectomy. A vasectomy procedure is a permanent method of birth control for men also known as male permanent sterlisation, in which the surgeon cuts and seals off a section of the male reproductive tract in order to prevent sperm from exiting the man’s body during ejaculation. Vasectomy is one form of sterilisation. In a conventional vasectomy, a scalpel will be used to make a small incision on one side of your scrotum, the thin skin pouch that houses the testicles. Your physician will isolate the vas deferens and lift it through the incision. At this point you may feel a pulling sensation, the vas deferens will be cut and a small piece may be removed. Next, the newly cut end of the vas deferens will be tied, sealed with surgical clips or cauterised. The vas deferens will be returned to the scrotum and the incision is closed with the stitches. The same steps will be repeated on the other side of the scrotum. In the non-scalpel method, your doctor will use a special ringed instrument to hold and expose the vas deferens.
