Watch more How to Deal with Ear Problems videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/508261-Preventing-an-Ear-Piercing-Infection-Ear-Problems Body piercing in general has become very fashionable these days, and a significant amount of that piercing occurs on the outer ear. Typically, and classically, ears were pierced down here, and this lower part of your earlobe is fat. The upper part has cartilage in it. If you get an infection in your earlobe where there's fat, you take the piercing out, you put hot compresses on it, and it will almost always resolve. This is a fairly resistant area to severe infection. When you pierce through cartilage, however, the possibility of severe infection goes up, and if it occurs, it requires much more aggressive therapy, often with oral or intravenous antibiotics. So, the first thing is, when you have your ears pierced you want to be sure that whoever's doing the piercing cleans your ear thoroughly with an antiseptic, such as alcohol or iodine solution, before they do the piercing. You want to be sure that the earring that's put in through the piercing is a high quality metal which lowers the likelihood of infection. If there is any redness, or crusting, or drainage around the piercing it means that there's an infection. And the first step is to just soak the area well, keep it clean, buy some over the counter antibiotic ointment such as Bacitracin, and put it around two or three times a day. That will generally resolve the problem. However, if it doesn't, it may be necessary to take the piercing out and be more aggressive with your therapy. Unfortunately, when such an infection occurs and you have to take the piercing out, the likelihood is that the hole will scar over, and you'll have to start over at step one after the infection is resolved.

Gluten intolerance, also called gluten sensitivity or Celiac Disease- when it’s in its most severe form- can have symptoms that range from no symptoms to life threatening or debilitating chronic health problems and anywhere in between. Often, these symptoms are not consistent from person to person and this is part of what makes gluten testing or Diagnosing Gluten Sensitivity so difficult for medical professionals. Gluten sensitivity and intolerance can manifest as much more than just IBS-like symptoms and stomach problems. That’s why doctors are more likely to dismiss the idea that you even have this because if they don’t hear about digestive problems as your chief complaint, then it must be something else. More than 55 diseases have been linked to gluten, the protein found in wheat, rye, and barley. It's estimated that 99% of the people who have either gluten intolerance or celiac disease are never diagnosed. But how can you tell if you really are gluten intolerant? For some, eating this mainly wheat-derived protein is just fine, while others experience a full range of symptoms, some of which can make life nightmarish. If you have experienced at least 7 of these 10 symptoms after eating foods containing gluten, it might be time to think about modyfying your diet. Allergy symptoms occur when your immune system overreacts to something that is harmless to most people but triggers a reaction in anyone sensitive to it. This substance is known as an allergen. Allergies can be seasonal (worsening during certain times of the year, such as pollen allergies in the spring) or perennial (occurring year-round). Common allergens include weed or grass pollen, dust mites, animal dander, mold, insect stings and a variety of food types, such as eggs, shellfish, nuts and grains. If you come in contact with something to which you are allergic, your immune system considers it dangerous and releases a chemical called histamine to counteract it. The release of histamine can cause a variety of symptoms, including a skin rash, headache, sneezing, runny nose, swelling, nausea and diarrhea. The most severe reaction, known as anaphylaxis, can be life-threatening. If the allergen is something you breathe in, your reaction will most likely affect your eyes, nose and lungs. If the allergen is something you consume, you’re more likely to have symptoms in your mouth, stomach and intestines. *In the process of updating descriptions, please be patient* Links: (http://acaai.org/allergies) http://www.anthonysommer.ca Subscribe to my new YouTube channel which will be used as an avenue towards sharing my accumulated occult knowledge without censorship or corruption: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCG54ccJuTKZs5Ha-IYBJFg?sub_confirmation=1 Please read my FAQ: "http://www.anthonysommer.ca/faq.html"

http://blockcenter.com/Allergy-Testing-and-Behavior.html The symptoms of allergy are most often thought to be runny nose, watery, itchy eyes and sneezing. However, the allergy cells, called mast cells, are found through out the body, including the lungs, the skin, the bladder, the muscles and the brain. This is why each of these body areas can be affected when exposed to certain allergens. One person may get a runny nose, while another gets asthma, and still another gets hyperactivity or learning problems. Studies have found that children with allergies perform less successfully in school than those who do not have allergies. By skin testing one allergen at a time, as is done at The Block Center, the patient and the doctor can tell exactly what part of the body is affected and in which symptoms are caused by each allergen. When the allergens are identified, a treatment plan can then be determined.

Sinusitis, also known as sinus infection or rhinosinusitis, is a very common condition where the paranasal sinuses are inflamed, causing congested nose, headache and facial pain. Paranasal sinuses are air cavities in the bones of the skull. There are four pairs of sinuses located on either side of the head. They are the maxillary, frontal, ethmoid, and sphenoid sinuses. The sinuses are lined with respiratory epithelium producing mucus. The mucus drains into the nasal cavity through small openings. Impaired sinus drainage has been associated with inflammation of sinuses. When a sinus is blocked, fluid builds up, making it a favorable environment for bacteria or viruses grow and cause infection. A typical sinusitis symptom is described as a dull pain or constant pressure commonly localized to the affected sinus. The pain may worsen when the person bends over or while lying down. Symptoms often start on one side of the head and spread to the other side. Acute sinusitis may be also be accompanied by thick nasal discharge of yellow greenish color. Sinusitis can be caused by: - Allergy(allergic rhinitis): allergens such as pollen, pet dander… may trigger inflammatory response of the mucosa of the nose and sinuses, resulting in excess mucus production, nasal congestion, sneezing and itching. - Infection: infection usually occurs as a complication of a common cold. Impaired sinus drainage due to inflammation of nasal mucosa during a cold often leads to infection of the sinus itself. Cold-like symptoms plus headache, facial pain or pressure are common complaints. - Other conditions that cause blockage of sinus drainage. These include: structural abnormalities such as deviated nasal septum; formation of nasal polyps. Treatments vary depending on the cause of sinusitis: - For allergy: intranasal corticosteroids are commonly used. - For viral infection: symptom relief medications such as nasal spray for irrigation and decongestion; other conservative treatment for common cold such as rest and drinking plenty of fluid. - For bacterial infection: antibiotics may be prescribed. - For recurrent or chronic sinusitis due to structural abnormalities or nasal polyps, nasal surgery may be recommended to clear up the drainage canal.

Allergens like pollen are nothing more than foreign plant antigens. The stimulus for sneezing gets triggered when allergens first enter the nasal tissue. Pollen allergens encounter the plasma cells in the nose, which respond by producing antibodies. These antibodies attach to mast cells, which are white blood cells containing the chemical histamine. As more antibodies are produced, they cause the mast cells to release histamine. Histamine then produces allergy symptoms. A stuffy and runny nose, sneezing and watery eyes help to remove the invading pollen. Medications called antihistamines may be used to help alleviate severe allergy symptoms. What Is an Allergy? It's what happens when your immune system reacts to something that’s usually harmless. Those triggers, which doctors call "allergens," can include pollen, mold, and animal dander, certain foods, or things that irritate your skin. Allergies are very common. At least 1 in 5 Americans has one. What Happens During an Allergic Reaction? It starts when you come into contact with a trigger that you inhale, swallow, or get on your skin. In response, your body starts to make a protein called IgE, which grabs onto the allergen. Then histamine and other chemicals get released into the blood. That causes the symptoms you notice. What Are the Symptoms? Your symptoms depend on how you’re exposed -- through the air, your skin, food, or through an insect sting. If you’ve got a nasal or skin allergy, common symptoms include: Itchy, watery eyes Sneezing Itchy, runny nose Rashes Feeling tired or ill Hives (a rash with raised red patches) Food allergies can also cause stomach cramps, vomiting, and diarrhea. If an insect sting was the trigger, you’ll have swelling, redness, and pain where it stung you. Symptoms can range from mild to severe. Most go away shortly after the exposure stops. Mild ones may be almost unnoticeable. You might just feel a little “off.” Moderate symptoms can make you feel ill, as if you’ve got a cold or even the flu. Severe allergic reactions are extreme. Is It Anaphylaxis? The most severe allergic reaction is called anaphylaxis. It affects your whole body. Symptoms can include: Hives and itching all over Wheezing or shortness of breath Hoarseness or tightness in the throat Tingling in the hands, feet, lips, or scalp Anaphylaxis is life-threatening, so call 911 right away. If you have an epinephrine auto-injector, use it and repeat after 5 to 15 minutes if your symptoms haven’t improved. You’ll still need medical care right after you give yourself the shots, even if your symptoms seem to stop, because a delayed reaction could still happen. Allergies, also known as allergic diseases, are a number of conditions caused by hypersensitivity of the immune system to something in the environment that usually causes little or no problem in most people. These diseases include hay fever, food allergies, atopic dermatitis, allergic asthma, and anaphylaxis. Symptoms may include red eyes, an itchy rash, sneezing, a runny nose, shortness of breath, or swelling. Food intolerances and food poisoning are separate conditions. Common allergens include pollen and certain food. Metals and other substances may also cause problems. Food, insect stings, and medications are common causes of severe reactions. Their development is due to both genetic and environmental factors. The underlying mechanism involves immunoglobulin E antibodies (IgE), part of the body's immune system, binding to an allergen and then to a receptor on mast cells or basophils where it triggers the release of inflammatory chemicals such as histamine. Diagnosis is typically based on a person's medical history. Further testing of the skin or blood may be useful in certain cases. Positive tests, however, may not mean there is a significant allergy to the substance in question. Early exposure to potential allergens may be protective. Treatments for allergies include avoiding known allergens and the use of medications such as steroids and antihistamines. In severe reactions injectable adrenaline (epinephrine) is recommended. Allergen immunotherapy, which gradually exposes people to larger and larger amounts of allergen, is useful for some types of allergies such as hay fever and reactions to insect bites. Its use in food allergies is unclear. Allergies are common. In the developed world, about 20% of people are affected by allergic rhinitis, about 6% of people have at least one food allergy, and about 20% have atopic dermatitis at some point in time. Depending on the country about 1–18% of people have asthma. Anaphylaxis occurs in between 0.05–2% of people. Rates of many allergic diseases appear to be increasing. The word "allergy" was first used by Clemens von Pirquet in 1906.

Allergy is an overreaction of our immune system to usually harmless substances like peanuts, milk, pollen, etc. These substances are called allergens. Now, our immune system has white blood cells or lymphocytes which protect us from foreign invaders such as bacteria, viruses, parasites, etc. These invaders are called antigens. When a lymphocyte detects an antigen, it produces antibodies. Antibodies destroy antigens and thus, protect us. Now, if an allergen such as pollen is inhaled by an allergic person, the lymphocytes of the allergic person for unknown reasons think that the allergen is an antigen. Hence, lymphocytes overreact and produce antibodies which start attacking the allergen. Besides this, as a protective response, some immune cells also trigger production of excess mucus resulting in running nose. They even give rise to itching throat and watery eyes, thus causing an allergy.

It's that time of year and for allergy sufferers, there's a lot of sneezing, coughing, sniffling and headaches. "As to what is causing the headache, some people have sinus pressure, that can cause a headache," warns Dr. Avery Wright, a Lee Memorial Health System family practice physician. And in some cases, that means migraines. "For example, some people have migraine headaches that are triggered by sinus pressure which is started by allergies. So, if we can prevent your allergies to pollen or whatever it is, then we can avoid the sinus pressure." Sometimes the weather changes combined with the pollen in the air can make the problem worse. "It comes down to the pressure issue. Pressure changes can affect the sinus cavities." This can make migraine pain more intense. "Ear pain; sensitivity; tenderness behind the sinus. So yeah, in that sense it can certainly cause headaches - weather changes." If you find that you are suffering from frequent headaches or your headaches are affecting your daily life, you are encouraged to see your doctor. An adjustment in your medication may be all that you need to relieve the pain. http://AmaRegenMed.com Hi my name is Allen and I came to AMA Regenerative Medicine for treatment of my chronic sinus infection. Over the last 8 to 10 years I’ve been suffering from chronic sinus infections. The infections all stemmed originally from my perennial allergies so everyone seemed to think that, that is what was causing the infection and there wasn’t anything that could be done for it other than load me up on steroids and antibiotics. Then over the last three years the sinus infections just continued to get worse and worse and I wasn’t able to get any kind of reprieve. Then someone told me about ozone therapy so I cam to AMA Regenerative Medicine to give ozone a try. I had ozone injections into my sinus cavities as well as did ozone insufflation directly into my nose. After just a couple of weeks the ozone injection and insufflation treatments have made a tremendous difference. I can breathe through both sides of my nose again. I can actually sleep through the night. I had all kinds of issues trying to sleep. There would be three to four nights a week that I couldn’t sleep because of the constant drainage from the sinus infection. That’s gone. Because of the constant drainage I always felt sick to my stomach. That’s gone. The ozone treatments have been a miracle for me. That’s my story. Because it kills bacteria, viruses and fungi, and also reduces inflammation, ozone is highly useful in managing your upper respiratory infections, acute and chronic sinusitis, and allergic nasal and sinus symptoms. The treatment procedure is very simple and very safe. Ozone in low concentration is drawn up into a syringe, and pushed into one nostril while the other nostril is compressed. Both nostrils are then compressed for about ten seconds. The patient then breaths out through the nostrils, expelling the ozone. The procedure is repeated for the other nostril, and continued for a total of 3 insufflations on each side. We avoid inhalation of ozone into the lungs, where it can be irritating. In affected patients there will be a discharge of mucus, sometimes in large amounts. The quantity of mucus discharged indicates how much inflammation is present. Afterwards the patient is often able to breathe more easily through the nose. We also assist in the Valsalva maneuver, where the patient tries to exhale with the mouth and nostrils closed. This opens the Eustachian tubes, allowing for the entry of ozone, equalization of pressures and relief of ear pain. The procedure can be repeated daily for acute infections, or once or twice a week for chronic problems such as allergies. Often antibiotics, which would otherwise be prescribed, can be omitted. We recommend ozone nasal insufflation in combination with a cleansing nasal solution such as Xlear nasal spray and a natural antihistamine such as stinging nettles or butterbur. Who is an owner of Grewal Pet Shop and Farm, Main Road, Adampur. In this video, he tells about Cure Skin Infection in the Hindi Language. 1.A dog skin infection can either be bacterial or yeast related but both are easily treated. Yeast infections are very common in warmer weather so are often misdiagnosed as allergies. If your dog is bothered by itchy ears and paws, and is scooting across your floors, then you're likely dealing with yeast. 2. On the other hand, bacteria infections are often secondary infections to allergies as they frequently occur when your dog breaks the skin from lots of scratching. 3. And, of course, you need to know which one you're dealing with to get the right treatment plan. But when you do, both types are fairly easy to treat. 4. Here's how I can help. Take a few minutes to review the symptoms chart to get a clearer idea of what type of skin infection your dog may be suffering from. 5. Bacterial infections are frequently a secondary condition to allergies caused by the dog itching and constantly scratching. The more the dog scratches with allergies, the more chance there is of him breaking the skin, which can lead to a dog skin infection. 6. If you have a dog that loves to play in muddy puddles or just enjoys swimming, then you may be no stranger to skin infections. Dogs that spend a lot of time being damp and dirty are pretty good candidates for bacterial or fungal skin infections. 7. Have you noticed a rather pungent "yeasty" smell coming from your dog?.....Even after bathing her? If this is the case, then you are most likely dealing with a yeast (fungal) infection. 8. An important note here, even If your dog's skin infection seems to ONLY affect your her ears, you will still have to bathe with an antifungal shampoo. Otherwise, the problem usually comes right back as soon as the ear drops stop. Thanks for watching our video. Please like this video if you liked it. Do you have a tongue and a thumb? If you do, you already have everything you need to clear your sinuses in less than 20 seconds! A stuffy nose often occurs as a symptom of another health problem such as a sinus infection or the common cold. Usually, these health problems are minor i.e. allergies, nasal polyps, chemical exposures, environmental irritants and hay fever. When the lining in the sinus cavities gets inflamed due to irritants, bacteria or viruses, your nasal passage swells and gets blocked up, making it hard for you to breathe. Nasal Congestion usually clears up within a week, but with this natural remedy, you may not wait that long to breathe easy ever again! How to clear your sinuses in 20 seconds Ready to breathe easy? Follow these simple steps: Push your tongue against the top of your mouth and place your thumb between your eyebrows. Apply pressure with your thumb for 20 seconds. Your sinuses will begin to drain. How does it work? You might be wondering how a little pressure on a bone can lead to a drain of sinuses. It has a scientific reason behind the technique. According to Lisa DeStefano, D.O., an assistant professor at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, this technique causes the "vomer" bone to rock back and forth. The back and forth motion loosens congestion, allowing your sinuses to drain. If the technique mentioned above doesnít work for you, donít rush to your drug store for a solution just yet! Try these four natural home remedies. You may already have these ingredients at home. 1. Organic Apple Cider Vinegar Mix eight ounces of warm water with two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and one tablespoon of honey, or take one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar three times daily. You sinuses should clear up in a few days. You could also mix half a cup of apple cider vinegar with half a cup of water, heat it on the stove, and inhale the steam with your mouth and eyes closed. 2. Turmeric Turmeric contains curcumin, which contributes to this spiceís anti-inflammatory properties. Sprinkling some turmeric on your next meal can help to treat the nasal inflammation that his blocking up your sinuses. 3. Nasal Saline Rinse This is not the most comfortable solution, but many people rely on a saline rinse to clear up their sinuses. The mixture can consist of a quarter teaspoon of sea salt/pickling salt with one cup of warm water. This rinse gets poured through one nostril and out the other to clear the sinuses. If you have never done a saline rinse before, ask someone for assistance and read and follow the instructions on the package very carefully. 4. Oregano Oil Oregano oil isnít as widely available or as cheap as the above natural remedies, but if you happen to get your hands on this oil, simply ingest it, or steam it over the stove and inhale it to effectively clear up your sinuses. This oil is an effective sinus infection treatment. This dog has Contact Dermatitis from grass allergy. It is painful and itchy. Other body parts can be affected, ears, tummy, any part that comes into contact with the grass, or whatever allergen is causing it. If this is not treated the dog will chew at it till it bleeds leaving it open to infection. I am not a vet, I followed the treatment plan given to me by my vet. Some immediate relief can be given to the dog by bathing in Aloveen Oatmeal Shampoo, towel drying and applying Aloveen Oatmeal Intensive Conditioner, and massaging extra conditioner onto the affected parts. Don't let the dog have any contact with grass for at least a week after this bath, if it gets out and gets exposure, no matter how brief, wash the dogs paws in the same products immediately. The next video will show the rash 3 days after exposure was elimated. DISCLAIMER: Please contact your vet for advice on what products to use on your dog. I am not endorsing or advocating the use of the products I have named. This is what I used and it worked but I'm sure there are many other products that work. The main thing is not to use anything strong that may cause further irritation.

Take Dr. Berg's Advanced Evaluation Quiz: http://bit.ly/EvalQuiz Your report will then be sent via email analyzing 104 potential symptoms, giving you a much deeper insight into the cause-effect relationship of your body issues. It's free and very enlightening. Dr. Berg talks about post-nasal drip. There are 2 different situations; (1) post nasal drip which occurs all year around and (2) seasonal post nasal drip. POST-NASAL DRIP - ALL YEAR AROUND *Take oregano oil -you need to add this in a netti pot In this video I did before - I use garlic - now I am recommending adding oregano oil to it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNM_NXwOkcQ POST-NASAL DRIP - SEASONAL *Take a version of vitamin C (calcium ascorbate with bioflavinoids) to break down histamines to help clear out mucus. It's possible it could be related to acid reflux or GERD, however, it is another symptom of low stomach acid. When the body loses acid, the pH shift to alkalosis, a condition that supports allergies and sinus problems. Apple cider vinegar is another remedy for this. How can ear/body piercings affect your joint replacement? It happens almost weekly in my allergy clinic. I get a referral from an orthopedic surgeon asking me to rule out allergy to nickel metal in a patient waiting for a hip or knee replacement. An allergic reaction to nickel is one of the most common causes of an itchy skin rash. It can also cause other changes in the skin, such as redness and blistering. Allergic reactions to nickel are increasing in North America and Europe. The allergy may develop at any age, and is more common in women than men. It’s estimated that in the U.S. alone over 2.5 million adults and a quarter million children are allergic to nickel. You may think, why should I worry about nickel?

http://www.healthybalanceddiet.org Common Symptoms of an Allergy • Eyes Allergies can be seen in the eyes such as redness and itching of the conjunctiva which sometimes results to watery or dry eyes. In cases where allergies are severe, the symptoms of allergies around the eyes may appear inflamed and can turn to a black or bluish shade. Physicians would prescribe antihistamines or antibiotics in the form of eye drops. • Nose, Sinuses, Airways During the course of an allergic reaction, the nasal mucosa or the walls of the nose swell especially if its allergic rhinitis and the sinuses swell too. The most common symptoms of an allergy are the congestion of the sinuses, nasal obstruction and nasal discharge. The airways constrict especially during asthma causing difficulty in breathing as well as dyspnea, sneezing and coughing. • Ears A common symptom of allergy in the ears is the feeling of fullness. At times, some people complain of pain and even hearing problems because of the drainage that the Eustachian tube (an inner part of the ear) lacks. • Skin Allergies manifest in the skin in the form of hives and rashes such as eczema. Click here to book for my upcoming workshop on "Understanding and managing your pets skin allergies - the natural way" http://www.caninevitality.com.au/canine_vitality_workshops/ Hi there, Lyndall Pinchen, Canine Naturopath from Canine Vitality back again today to share with you this week’s post “Yeast or allergy- what is causing your dog to itch?”. If you are living in the Southern hemisphere, it is starting to get colder as we go into our Winter months. However, I am still regularly seeing itchy dogs coming into clinic regardless of the season. Can you relate to that? Is your dog itching and scratching whether it’s summer of winter....essentially all year round??. So I wanted to look at what is often confused as ‘allergies’ in our dogs- an infection that can often be resistant and difficult to get on top of- and that’s YEAST! In today’s post we’ll look at what yeast infections are, how they develop and how they can often mimic allergies in your dog. And I’ll give you some tips on how to help overcome these too! So let’s dive in and take a closer look at yeast infections. In my clinic I see so many dogs coming in that have some sort of yeast infection. Commonly this will be a recurrent ear infection, or incessant paw licking. But yeast can affect many other areas of your dogs body. Dogs that suffer from yeast infections may be generally itchy all over or even suffer from hotspots. Their skin may appear blackened or there maybe be black ‘spots’ on the skin that don’t wash off and you may also notice rust like stains on areas where there has been excessive licking. There is often hair loss around the tail and back areas. And then there is that classic yeasty smell – a bit like a combination of mouldy socks and corn chips all rolled into one. Once you have smelled this you never forget it!!In addition, there may be internal gut symptoms like bloating, bowel changes. The symptoms of yeast infections can be minor or become deeply chronic over time if left untreated or if incorrectly diagnosed. So what causes yeast to be such an issue? Well, firstly it’s important to note that every dog (much like every human) has a healthy population of yeasts living in the gut and on the skin including ears, genitals and between the paw pads. Now as long as your dog’s immune system is strong and healthy, the yeast will never cause an issue as it lives in harmony with thousands of other normal microbes that are also present. However, problems arise when the immune system starts to become compromised and stressed, yeast populations start to rise and become out of balance.
