ATOPICA® (cyclosporine capsules) USP MODIFIED Mode of Action

03:32
See video to learn about Atopica’s Mode of Action. To learn more, go to atopica.com/dogs/veterinary. Canine atopic dermatitis is an inflammatory disease that causes a dog’s skin to become inflamed and itchy. ATOPICA, used in the control of canine atopic dermatitis, accumulates in the skin. Its principal action is to suppress T cell activation and cytokine production at the site of inflammation. The overall effect of ATOPICA is a reduction in the number and activity of pro-inflammatory cells, helping stop the inflammation before it starts by targeting cells that initiate the allergic response¹. 1.Forsythe P, Paterson S., 2014. Ciclosporin 10 years on: indications and efficacy. Veterinary Record Focus 172. 2: 13 –21 ATOPICA is indicated for the control of atopic dermatitis in dogs weighing at least 4 pounds. IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION Do not use Atopica in dogs with a history of neoplasia, with a hypersensitivity to cyclosporine, or in reproducing dogs. Atopica is a systemic immunosuppressant that may increase susceptibility to infection and development of neoplasia. For use only in dogs. Capsules should not be broken or opened. Wear gloves during administration and wash hands after administration. Gastrointestinal problems and gingival hyperplasia may occur at the initial dose. Safety and effectiveness has not been established in dogs less than 6 months or 4 lbs. Use with caution in dogs with diabetes mellitus or renal insufficiency, and with drugs that affect the P-450 pathway. Killed vaccines are recommended. The most common adverse events are vomiting and diarrhea. Please see the product insert for full prescribing information. http://bit.ly/2HWD7Jb USCAHATO00083

Blood Stem Cells - immune-mediated keratitis

12:11
At present many eye pathologies have the alteration of the eye's privileged immune system in common. The eye's privileged immune system has the objective of protecting the eye from infections, minimizing inflammation and activating a process of complex interrelations, making it complicated ,if not impossible, to fully understand . The more we investigate micro-organisms, innate immunity, adaptive immunity, receptors, substances produced by involved cells, etc..., the more this process's evolution appears to be so structured and interconnected that we have to continually revaluate it. Today's treatment for immunomediate illnesses of the eye is the immunosuppression through drugs such as glucocorticoids, cyclosporine A, tacrolimus, doxycycline , etc.... As an alternative we propose immunoregulation using blood stem cells that know the organism and are able to make decisions, acting by orchestrating the healing of the eye behaving like a small pharmaceutical company that produces the right drug at the right time in these complex interrelations. IMMUNE-MEDIATED KERATITIS Immune-mediated keratitis is a non ulcerative corneal disease characterized by some of the following clinical symptoms: vascularization, edema and inflammatory cell response within the cornea and absence of uveal pathology. In the pathological process there may be temporary painful erosions, but normally the pain is minimal with respect to the dramatic symptoms. This is a pathology with unknown causes but connected to damaging the immune privileged system of the eye surface. The immune-mediated keratitis are nonspecific pathologies, classified by clinical presentation and progression, inflammation and response to antiinflammatory and immunomodulatory therapy. Mentre inizialmente la terapia funzionava rapidamente e le ricadute si presentavano dopo periodi lunghi, One in three cases doesn't respond to treatment and has to undergo surgery. Here we present the case of a 6 year old dressage horse affected by immunomediated keratitis that was treated for 15 months with eye drop cycles of tobramicine, dexametasone, cyclosporine A, and NSAID (flunixin meglumine ) I.V. At the beginning the therapy functioned rapidly and the relapses appeared after long periods but in the end the mare improved only during the treatment and for three days after its suspension. Furthermore the corneal lesions continued to worsen. The owner and the veterinary were frustrated because the relapses became more frequent with more serious symptoms. The decision was taken to try blood stem cells. The horse was given three cycles in four months. In the following two years there were no relapses and now the eye is completely recovered. The horse now participates in high level dressage competitions and has recovered the time lost during the illness. Given that immunomediated pathologies are frequent and are part of human ophthalmic pathologies, how much benefit could our blood stem cells therapeutic protocol give us?i In the cases in which surgery is necessary we are evaluating together with Dr. Riccardo Stoppini, one of the best Italian ophthalmic equine veterinary, how much this could improve the results.

rant tiem, ho-bags!!! XD http://lacigreen.tv for more! OTHER SITES: http://www.facebook.com/officiallacigreen http://www.twitter.com/gogreen18 http://www.dailybooth.com/gogreen18 http://www.myspace.com/gogreen18 http://www.blogtv.com/people/laci In response to the common quote: "A key that opens many locks is a good key. A lock that's opened by many keys is a bad lock." This quote is a profession of EVERYTHING that this video is talking about, and if you feel the need to recite it, I don't think you get it. To even THINK of women/men in terms of the lock/key analogy indicates sexual oppression in the form of gender policing and heteronormativity. CHECK YOURSELF FOO. :) To those who are asking if I've ever been called a slut, YES of course. I'm a sexual liberal. I get called a slut a lot on YouTube, but only once in real life. When I went through puberty, my breasts grew seemingly over night. After that, all the girls I hung out with started calling me a "slut" behind my back. I was an ultra-virginal 14 year old and I didn't know the first thing about sex. It was weird and hurtful then. I understand it now though, especially after working with kids the same age as I was. thanks to Robot Science for the music!
