One by one, nearly all the state psychiatric hospitals were boarded up or bulldozed, but Massachusetts leaders broke their promise to replace them with something better — or much of anything at all. The failed mental health care system has led to a public safety crisis, including scores of murders by disturbed people, police shootings, and embattled institutions from courts to hospitals confronting a tidal wave of mentally ill people. What is PATHOLOGICAL LYING? What does PATHOLOGICAL LYING mean? PATHOLOGICAL LYING meaning - PATHOLOGICAL LYING definition - PATHOLOGICAL LYING explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. SUBSCRIBE to our Google Earth flights channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6UuCPh7GrXznZi0Hz2YQnQ Pathological lying (also called pseudologia fantastica and mythomania) is a behavior of habitual or compulsive lying. It was first described in the medical literature in 1891 by Anton Delbrueck. Although it is a controversial topic, pathological lying has been defined as "falsification entirely disproportionate to any discernible end in view, may be extensive and very complicated, and may manifest over a period of years or even a lifetime". Defining characteristics of pathological lying include A definitely internal, not an external, motive for the behavior can be discerned clinically: e.g., long-lasting extortion or habitual spousal battery might cause a person to lie repeatedly, without the lying being a pathological symptom. The stories told tend toward presenting the liar favorably. The liar "decorates their own person" by telling stories that present them as the hero or the victim. For example, the person might be presented as being fantastically brave, as knowing or being related to many famous people, or as having great power, position, or wealth. Some psychiatrists distinguish compulsive from pathological lying, while others consider them equivalent; yet others deny the existence of compulsive lying altogether; this remains an area of considerable controversy. Diagnosing pathological lying can be difficult. Psychologists are trained to understand the issues this diagnosis presents as a disorder. It is listed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, third edition. It is a stand-alone disorder as well as a symptom of other disorders such as psychopathy and antisocial, narcissistic, and histrionic personality disorders, but people who are pathological liars may not possess characteristics of the other disorders. It has been shown through lie detector tests that PF (pseudologia fantastica) patients exhibit arousal, stress, and guilt from their deception. This is different from psychopaths, who experience none of those reactions. People affected by antisocial disorder lie for external personal profit in the forms of money, sex, and power. PF is strictly internal. The difference between borderline personality disorder and PF is that BPD patients desperately try to cope with their feeling of abandonment, mistreatment, or rejection by making empty threats of suicide or false accusations of abandonment. Pathological liars do not feel rejected; they have high levels of self-assurance that help them lie successfully. Unlike those with histrionic personality, pathological liars are more verbally dramatic than sexually flamboyant. Narcissists think they have achieved perfection and are unempathetic to others. PF patients do not show these anti-social behaviors; they often lie because they think their life is not interesting enough. The only diagnosis in our current system where purposeless, internally motivated deception is listed is axis I factitious disorder. This diagnosis deals with people who lie about having physical or psychological disorders. People with PF tend to lie about their identities and past history. Since the symptoms do not match up, the individual may go undiagnosed. Though they could well be diagnosed under the catch-all rubric of unspecified personality disorder (ICD-10 code F69) or perhaps even better under ICD-10 code F68.8 "Other specified disorder of adult personality and behaviour" as this defines itself as "This category should be used for coding any specified disorder of adult personality and behaviour that cannot be classified under any one of the preceding headings". Here the specified disorder is the lying for psychological reasons (not material ones e.g. money etc.) and the behavior would also need to meet the necessary conditions to be viewed as a psychiatric illness. Lying is the act of both knowingly and intentionally or willfully making a false statement. Normal lies are defensive and are told to avoid the consequences of truth telling. They are often white lies that spare another's feelings, reflect a pro-social attitude, and make civilized human contact possible. Pathological lying can be described as a habituation of lying. It is when an individual consistently lies for no personal gain. ...

10 Disturbing Facts You Didn’t Know About Munchausen Syndrome By Proxy | list 10 Munchausen syndrome by proxy (MSBP), also known as factitious disorder imposed on another, is a psychological disorder in which a caregiver fakes or induces medical symptoms in a person under her care. The term “Munchausen syndrome by proxy” was first used in 1977 by a doctor named Roy Meadow who suspected a patient’s mother of poisoning the boy with salt. Many people simply consider this condition to be child abuse in a clinical setting. MSBP was named after Baron Munchausen, a fictional character somewhat based on the real-life Karl Friedrich von Munchhausen who lived in the 18th century and was a renowned storyteller. A writer later “embellished” these tales to include impossible but entertaining stories of Baron Munchausen, the literary character, traveling to the Moon and riding a cannonball. That’s how the name Munchausen became associated with fantastic or exaggerated tales. After being depicted on hit televisions shows like Scrubs, Law & Order, and Body of Proof, MSBP exploded into public awareness. However, while you probably have heard about MSBP, the following facts are guaranteed to shock and disturb. 1-Like Mother, Like Child 2-Medical Knowledge Is A Must 3-Victims May Play Along 4-One Is Not Always Enough 5-Surveillance May Be The Key 6-MSBP Can Take Years To Discover 7-We Don’t Know What Causes MSBP 8-The Abuser Is Usually The Mother 9-MSBP Can Be Fatal . . . Watch America's Lawyer featuring Mike Papantonio on RT: https://www.rt.com/shows/americas-lawyer/ An Appeals Court in Texas has overturned the conviction of a man due to the fact that the sentencing judge repeatedly administered electric shocks to the defendant with a collar, shock collar, that they had on him. Actually it's around his waist. But this was happening while the defendant was appearing in court. Now, to set this story up just a little bit, understand, judge is talking to the defendant. Defendant is apparently pretty scary guy, his own lawyer said, "The guy freaked me out. I didn't know what he was gonna do, he was acting crazy. I was concerned that he was gonna take a television set, which was near him and use that as a weapon." So the point being, the guy's obviously out of control, but explain how far the judge went with 50,000 volts, by the way. Yeah, this isn't just a little shock, this is a belt that goes around your waist and it's disturbing that three times he hit him. And the transcript from the court, the guy says, "I have a mental illness" and the judge says, "Hit him again." Shocks him three times with this belt. Now I tell you, I've got a dog at home that barks incessantly, and I went to get him one of those shock collars and I decided not to use it, 'cause I thought, "This isn't right." Here we have somebody sitting in court, no matter what kind of animal he is, we don't shock people, only in Texas. Well ... But you don't shock people. I mean it's ... We weren't there, okay. We weren't there. But as I read this story ... The transcript says a lot. The transcript says a lot. "I have a history of mental illness." "Hit him again" the judge says. Yes. The guy's in open court. He says, "Judge, I have a history of mental illness" and they hit him with 50,000 volts. For the third time. The defense lawyer's standing there saying, "I'm freaked out by this." He doesn't even object. Well, look, they're running 50,000 volts through his body, you think he's gonna act a little unusual. Well, the defense lawyer's name was Billy Ray, so only in Texas do you have a defense lawyer, Billy Ray, he doesn't object to his own client getting shocked until ... Yeah. Well part of the transcript. This is the transcript. This is the defendant, "Judge, I have a law suit pending against you." "Deputy, hit him with a shock." So the deputy hits him with 50,000 volts. Well, the end of the story is exactly what you would think. The guy gets a new trial. I mean, you can't stand there and jolt 50,000 volts ... What is it? Am I overstating that number? It's 50 ... It was ... No, it's 50,000 volts, running through his body in little increments. Not enough to kill him, but enough to get his attention. So the Appellate Court said, "Look, the guy has a right to be in trial. He has a right to be there while he is being accused of whatever. He has a right to defend himself." And so those constitutional rights were taken away when you shocked him like a dog to the point where he couldn't even think ... I wouldn't do that to my dog. I mean, and the call from the Appellate Court, "a stun belt is a device meant to ensure physical safety. It is not an operant conditioning collar meant to punish a defendant until he obeys the judge's whim." No ... Only in Texas. Looking back, if they call it the stun belt and it delivers a 50,000 volt shock. So the judge, he might have had some fun shocking this guy, he might hate ... The guy was there on child abuse, he was apparently a serial child abuser. And no doubt the judge ... Not a good guy. Not a good guy. But we don't shock ... His defense lawyer's saying, "The guy is freaking me out because he's acting so crazy." The judge says, "Hey, I can fix that" and zaps him.

Let’s Talk About 7 Health Findings on Autism 1. Autism is Present in Brain Scans The Autism Society, based in Maryland, notes that autism is more than a behavioral disorder. It actually shows up on brain scans. For this reason, the society says autism is accepted as a brain abnormality. The size and shape of a child’s brain with autism is notably different from a “neurotypical” child, adds the society. While autism shows up in a scan, there’s still no single cause that has been pinpointed, explains the source. 2. Genetic Links May Exist The same source notes that there could be a “genetic vulnerability” to developing autism. The Autism Society explains that families where autism is present have a pattern of “related disabilities” that supports the theory that autism has a genetic basis. The source notes that researchers are scanning for irregular genetic codes in children with autism. However, it does state that people with certain medical conditions (i.e., tuberous sclerosis and congenital rubella syndrome) appear to me at more at risk of developing autism. 3. Higher Risk for Premature Babies According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, autism is present in more children born prematurely than on the expected birth date range. Research has shown that babies born before 37-weeks of pregnancy could have a higher chance of being autistic. That being said, medical professionals can diagnose autism in children younger than 18-months, with a more definite diagnosis at 2-years of age. 4. The Gastrointestinal Link While there are brain irregularities with those who have autism, other research reveals a possible link to gut bacteria, according to Scientific American. The magazine explains that researchers found that up to 90-percent of autistic people also have gastrointestinal problems, including inflammatory bowel disease. Another condition of the gut that may be linked to autism is called “leaky gut”, adds the scientific source. It refers to a condition where the intestines are overly permeable, leaking contents into the bloodstream. Scientists are looking at whether gut bacteria could be a driver of autism. 5. The Immunity Dysfunction Clue With offices across the U.S., Autism Speaks notes that many individuals with autism also display immunity problems. The research cited by Autism Speaks centers on how chemicals that boost immunity cells enter the brain. The research found that these chemicals are low in babies and toddlers with autism. The conclusion is that there are “important interactions” between brain nerve cells and immunity cells, such as how brain neurons develop and connect to other neurons, according to the article. 6. Vaccines Don’t Cause Autism Celebrities, including Jenny McCarthy, have boldly stated that vaccinations are the cause of autism, while many other Hollywood figures have become “anti-vaxxers” due to concerns. This has influenced many Americans into avoiding vaccines, which is an unwise move according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The CDC claims studies have proven no link between the two. The specific ingredient studied in vaccines is called thimerosal, which is mercury-based and helps prevent contamination of vaccine vials. The CDC notes that several funded studies show no increased risk to developing autism from thimerosal. 7. Autism Might Not be a Disorder at All While autism is widely accepted as a social barrier, some experts say it’s not an abnormality– it’s just a different way for the brain to function. This “neurodiversity” theory dictates that people just see the world in different ways, and that autism should be regarded this way. American science writer, Steve Silberman, is a leader of the recent neurodiversity discussion, according to Maclean’s magazine. Instead of treating autism as a problem and spending money on finding a cure for, Silberman says we should be using resources to improve the quality of life for those with autism. Facts about Dutch youth care services: That children without any form of research, juvenile court authorization or reason are taken out of the house with police violence, with all the psychological consequences. The court appointed youth care guardians have no difficulty with breaking the law which among other measures, to destroy reports from specialists, perjury, falsification of reports by experts, defining personality disorders by non-experts, collecting bonuses (3% of salary) for out of home placement of children, etc. That juvenile courts only have three quarters of an hour per child's case and decide not to make finding truth. They go blindly on the judgment of child and youth care. The Guardians take children from their home solely on opinion of others, they themselves almost never see the child nor the parents before. The parents whose child has been placed out of the house very rarely or never allowed to see the child and there is no guidance to help them with this. Guardians don't take any effort to place children back, they don't not work with parents and children to achieve this goal. The rights and wishes of the child are not respected, if heard by both the guardian or by the court. Dutch court allows youth-care to violate article 5 of the European constitution so parents do not have the chance to defend themselves. The police refuses to enforce the law and denies parents the right to file a criminal case against the youth care organization. The original author's parlance has been left intact. State CPS takes attorney's kids in retaliation for defending mother ! Defense Evidence disappears ! Falsified documents ! Lies from corrupt CPS workers ! Criminal activity by judges ! CPS workers blow whistle on CPS corruption ! The other point is, how many of those CPS scumbags are using illegal drugs ???!!! CPS scumbags are getting paid to take children from caring parents !!!!!!! "Social Workers getting paid extra per child taken from parents and placed into adoption be in part motivation for the FLDS raid?" "CPS are like trolling prostitutes looking for children who they can rip away from their parents so they can buy and sell those children for profit. It matters not if those children are loved, or not. The job of CPS is to snatch and grab these children without due process without the parents receiving due process so they can sell those children to the highest bidder. Yes, CPS gets up to $40,000 per child by the federal government thanks to Bill Clinton and the bill he signed tagged the Adoption and safe families act. When CPS snatches these children they immediately look for ways to harass, coerce, or force the parents to sign them over so they can in turn sell them. This is a disgrace and a travesty for not only the children but to those parents who love them." https://protectingourchildrenfrombeingsold.wordpress.com/2010/01/30/social-workers-getting-paid-extra-per-child-taken-from-parents-and-placed-into-adoption-be-in-part-motivation-for-the-flds-raid/ ""It wasn't uncommon for caseworkers to falsify their reports. I couldn't believe that they were allowed to do it, but I was told by my supervisor to hush. And I was threatened."" "Child protective service, or CPS, workers are the elite of DFACS. They have protection from the state. Some of the laws have changed in the past few years since I left because of the press coverage of the 500 children who were killed — 500 children in our state were murdered by their families, children who had all been reported to DFACS but whose cases weren't followed through. But for the most part you can't prosecute CPS. They have immunity. Here's an example: If a CPS worker took a child away from its parents for a short time and put him or her in a foster home, and then the child was abused physically or sexually in the foster home, it would be logical to think that the parent could prosecute. In October, a Harris County jury convicted Robinson for falsifying CPS records, concluding that she’d lied when she said she’d interviewed key sources in the case and that she left the young girl in danger. http://projects.statesman.com/news/cps-missed-signs/wrongdoing.html

The early 1900s was an amazing time for Western science, as Albert Einstein was developing his theories of relativity and psychology was born, as Sigmund Freud and psychoanalysis took over the scientific mainstream. Karl Popper observed these developments firsthand and came to draw a distinction between what he referred to as science and pseudoscience, which might best be summarized as science disconfirms, while pseudoscience confirms. While the way we describe these disciplines has changed in the intervening years, Popper’s ideas speak to the heart of how we arrive at knowledge. -- PBS Digital Studios wants to get to know you better! Susan Hyman, M.D. Neurodevelopmental and Behavioral Pediatrician University of Rochester Medical Center Topics: Autism spectrum disorders, behavioral pediatrics, neurodevelopmental disabilities Susan. L. Hyman, M.D., has three decades of experience treating and researching autism spectrum disorders and is the chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics committee on autism, frequently acting as a spokesperson for the organization. Hyman's recent research has focused on the diet and nutrition of children with autism and on the most effective behavioral treatments for the developmental disorder. She is well-versed in current research of the genetic and potential environmental causes of autism and of the important role of parents in treating children. Hyman is no stranger to controversy, wading into the hot topic of vaccines and their lack of association with autism in the national media. Her research on the gluten- and casein-free diet, popular for children with autism, showed that the diet had no impact on their behavior when they don't have gastrointestinal issues. Hyman works with colleagues at the University of Rochester on the differences in language development and taste and smell for children with autism. When the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced the sizable jump in autism prevalence rates in 2012, officials tapped Hyman to help explain the development to the national media.

“The child had had the vaccine, had developed a very high fever, had started screaming, had then gone to sleep for days on end, and woken up never the same… A clear history of a disease process.” Dr. Andrew Wakefield describes the study that was published in The Lancet - later retracted - that looked at the MMR vaccine, children with autism and their gastrointestinal disease. Although not discussed in this video, Dr. Wakefield had found that the MMR combo vaccine contributed to the problems in autistic children, and he had recommended at the time that the MMR combo vaccine be administered separately. This sparked a worldwide concern about the MMR vaccine, a drop in vaccination, concern that the MMR vaccine causes autism, and ultimately a relentless attack on Dr. Wakefield that cost him his medical license and reputation because he questioned vaccine safety. On 12-22-2017 NET CUA and DHS Social workers pretended they were doing another safety check for December 2017 and instead wanted to remove a child from the pre-adoptive home with no court order based on DHS upper management recommendation without seeing the child or visiting the home. After Dr. Harris filed a grievance against NET CUA and DHS they retaliated and took her child without any basis. The mom Tamiera Harris refused and asked them to leave. Tamiera stated why are you all trying this when you know the child is safe, healthy and happy. The social workers called the cops. The cops proceeded to enter and search the home without a warrant. The police acknowledged that child was safe and that social workers had no court order to remove the child. In fact, pre-adoptive mom had a physical custody order decree and the last court order stated the child was to remain in the pre-adoptive home. However, the Police spoke to DHS which is the Child Protective Services Agency in Philadelphia upper management then proceeded to remove the child. The Police took the child from pre-adoptive mom's hands. The NET CUA worker Miriam Colon then picked up the child. Pre-adoptive mom then confirmed again that they did not have an order to remove the child and that she would pursue a lawsuit if they left out of her home with her child. #JusticeforTamia *Update: This baseless, unlawful removal was due to pre-adoptive mom prepayment of rental lease. The child was removed 3 days before Christmas. Prepaying bills is not a safety issue and NET CUA, DHS and Philadelphia police conducted this unlawful removal with no regard to pre-adoptive mom and child 4th and 14th amendment rights. This was indeed a crime committed by NET CUA and DHS in the State of Pennsylvania. Update 3-22-2018 NET Community Care and DHS completely changed their story and claimed they removed the child because there was no car seat inside the home and they did not see mayo or mustard in the refrigerator. They said the refrigerator was too clean and they kept seeing the same things such as water, milk, juice, cereal and frozen foods over and over again. When the mom went to court to fight this claim some weird way the original Judge who was on the case was switched off and a new judge Joseph Fernandes was assigned. This judge had no history of the case and told Dr. Tamiera Harris she had no standing. The judge then kicked her lawyer and witnesses out of the court. He then allowed the opposing side to present numerous claims. This was not a fair hearing and deprived Dr. Harris the ability to have a lawyer to cross-examine witnesses and to present evidence to refute the claims. Dr. Harris has appealed to the superior court of PA. Thankfully Dr. Harris kept all visits on a video recorder and have pictures of her home, food orders, and the child in her car seats. This child came from a six-figure home where she had a blessed life and she was maliciously removed in error twice in 1 year. Dr. Harris has decided to pursue a federal lawsuit.

Located at Chennai, India, Oxford home exists for a decade providing care and shelter for mentally ill, aged men and women. Its a non-profit organization, not associated with the Government, due to various bureaucratic problems that might arise henceforth. So the whole trust runs on the money provided by the patrons of the patients. It provides shelter for 200 people, many of whose patrons have absconded by falsifying information about residential address, financial information etc. Unable to run the charitable trust, there is a big shortage of resources for most of the people, which includes food, clothing, medicines, and finance. Anybody who wants to help can contact Dr.Rajan, who founded this home, at his website www.oxfordtrust.org. A correction in the website is the contact e-mail of Dr.Rajan, which would be email@example.com. Petra Destinee analyzes current DCF policy. Petra shows that DCF policy is not being adhered to by the very agency that was set up to help families and children. She explains how the agency's very language is so vague and how it is left up to interpretation which leads to abuse in the system. There is no concrete rubric or best practices that the social workers use to ensure the safety of the child and the reunification of the family. Petra furthermore, reads a very painful letter from a young girl who lost two of her sisters to DCF,. A child or children should only be taken away from the family if it is verified beyond a shadow of doubt that raped or tortured (Physically Abused) by parents. This should not be done at the whim of the social worker because she may be having a bad day. Parents should also be given the opportunity to keep the child in the house if the two has not been proven and monitored for limited time. In all cases the parents should be helped in whatever way possible and whatever the cost to keep the child from experiencing separation anxiety and other mental illnesses that may occur as a result of them being removed from the home.

Wahkohtowin means "everything is related." It is one of the basic principles of Cree Natural Law passed through language, song, prayer, and storytelling. The elders explain that by following the teachings of Wahkohtowin individuals, communities and societies are healthier.
