DESCRIPTION: What happens when men with prostate cancer and prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PIN) are placed on a relatively low-fat diet supplemented with ground flaxseeds? Slowing the Growth of Cancer (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/slowing-the-growth-of-cancer-3/) is good, but how about Cancer Reversal Through Diet? (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/cancer-reversal-through-diet/) In other words, if one plant could do that, what about a whole diet chocked full of plants? See my video series that goes from Ex Vivo Cancer Proliferation Bioassay (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/developing-an-ex-vivo-cancer-proliferation-bioassay/) (actually Engineering a Cure http://nutritionfacts.org/video/engineering-a-cure/) to The Answer to the Pritikin Puzzle (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/the-answer-to-the-pritikin-puzzle/). What about for breast cancer? See Breast Cancer Survival and Lignan Intake (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/breast-cancer-survival-and-lignan-intake/). The Effects of Flaxseed Supplementation On Prostate Cancer

Simple dietary changes can be beneficial for prostate health: https://www.menlify.com/dietary-changes-for-prostate-health/ Flaxseeds are high in lignans also known as phytoestrogens. Many health experts believe that because phytoestrogens are similar to our own estrogens, including them on a typical diet may affect the risk of certain hormonal related cancers like prostate cancer. There were studies conducted in the U.S. and Europe, but haven't found any clear answers on the link beween phytoestrogens in diet and prostate cancer. According to researchers, the majority of the people on these Western countries don't consume enough phytoestrogens, which is why researchers have difficulty determining the link. On the other hand, most Asian countries where people consuming phytoestrogens in their diet as their typical eating habit that include foods like soy, prostate cancer rates are low. However, according to researchers this does not prove cause and effect. Video with the YouTube Video Editor via Creative Common License

(All proceeds Dr. Greger receives from the sales of his books, DVDs, and speaking engagements go to support the 501c3 nonprofit that runs NutritionFacts.org.) DESCRIPTION:All men should consider eating a prostate-healthy diet, which includes legumes (beans, peas, lentils, soy); certain vegetables (like garlic and onions); certain seeds (flax seeds); and the avoidance of refined grains, eggs, and poultry. For background on BPH (enlarged prostate), a condition that affects millions of men, see yesterday's video-of-the-day (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/some-prostates-are-larger-than-others/). If flax seeds alone can so dramatically affect prostate cancer cell growth, what about an entire diet based on plants? See Ex Vivo Cancer Proliferation Bioassay (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/developing-an-ex-vivo-cancer-proliferation-bioassay/) and Is It the Diet, the Exercise, or Both? (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/is-it-the-diet-the-exercise-or-both/). In tomorrow's video-of-the-day Prostate vs. a Plant-Based Diet (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/prostate-versus-a-plant-based-diet/), that same question will be explored for BPH. What else can flax seeds do? See Breast Cancer Survival and Lignan Intake (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/breast-cancer-survival-and-lignan-intake/), Flax and Fecal Flora (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/flax-and-fecal-flora/), and Just the Flax Ma'am (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/just-the-flax-maam/). Flax Seeds and Testosterone: Do Not Eat These Seeds...

04:29
Download my 100% free testosterone foods grocery list here - https://www.truthnutra.com/30foods Flax Seeds and Testosterone: Flax seeds have become strangely popular in the mainstream lately, mostly due to their omega-3 content. However, literally everyone overlooks hormonal health, in general, and therefore has missed the boat on the negative impact a specific compound in flaxseeds has on human endocrine balance. Let's talk about one of the side effects of flax seeds. This compound has an extremely powerful ability to lower human testosterone levels, and flax seeds contain them in an 800-fold amount over most other foods. Keep watching to find out what this compound is… Flaxseeds are incredibly dense in a compound known as lignans. They contain roughly 800x the amount of lignans as most other foods. Why is this a problem? Well, most people don’t realize this, but lignans are highly estrogenic. They’ve been shown to lower both free and total testosterone levels, as well as suppress the 5 alpha reductase enzyme activity. They increase production of SHBG, which is the protein that binds free testosterone, rendering it inactive. The studies done on flaxseeds make the overwhelming conclusion that flaxseeds and hormonal health are not exactly a match made in heaven. In fact, unless you’re a woman with excessive body hair growth, you’re going to want to stay far away from these pesky little estrogen-bombs. Flaxseeds have historically been used by medical researchers specifically to lower excess testosterone levels in women with a condition known as hirsutism, which is characterized by excessive facial hair growth. For example, this study demonstrated that daily consumption of flax seeds for 4 months annihilated total testosterone levels by 70% and free testosterone levels by 89%. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2752973/ In a similar study done on men, the subjects exhibited a not-as-extreme but still significant drop in total testosterone of 15% and free testosterone by 20%. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11445478 Unless you’re specifically looking to biologically castrate yourself, flax seeds should probably not be a staple food. Once again, mainstream nutrition advice has failed to properly inspect the important, and potentially damaging effects a food can have on the human endocrine system before touting it as a “superfood” and if anything, this just highlights our need to remain vigilant before trusting surface-level advice from mass media outlets or traditionally-educated nutritionists who all learn from the same sources. With that in mind, I have a gift for you… All this conflicting advice around nutrition can be confusing for people, so I want to make things simple and straightforward. Flax Seed: Estrogen Rich Foods To Avoid

22:10
Flax seed is one of the most terrible “so called health foods” you can eat. Compounds in flaxseeds work against your health. Get ready, because we’re about to Bust this Flaxseed myth once and for all! It’s important we first cover the breakdown of a handful of key compounds that are found in all flaxseeds and high in the vegan diet. Lignans: Lignans are phytoestrogens that have been shown to directly inhibit steroid synthesis while increasing estrogenic activity in the body. Flaxseeds are the richest known nutritional source of lignans. Genistein: Genistein is an isoflavone phytoestrogen that also increases estrogenic activity in the body while inhibiting important reproductive functions such as spermatogenesis and steroid hormone synthesis in men, while increasing uterine weight and and causing endocrine dysfunction in the female reproductive systems in women. Daidzein: Daidzein is another common isoflavone phytoestrogen that has been shown in the research to have similar anti-reproductive effects in both men and women. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10325492 (Shows interference with bioavailability and and steroid metabolism, and have estrogenic activity. Also states flax seed is the richest source of these lignans.) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7490559 (shows use of dietary lignans and isoflavones to reduce 5 alpha reductase.) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2752973/ (Shows a significant reduction in androgen levels due to flaxseed supplementation.) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19064574 (This study showed a significant decrease in serum cholesterol, which we know later leads to decreased steroid production.) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18328014 (Shows lowered total and ldl cholesterol in postmenopausal women.) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11445478 (Shows significant decrease in cholesterol, testosterone, and free androgens.) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2826899 (Shows one of the lignans found in flaxseed enterolactone has a negative correlation with testosterone, as well as a positive correlation with SHBG.) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1314077 (Although support it for having a slight chance of anti cancer effects this study shows these compounds are able to compete for the type 2 estrogen receptor.) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22943974 (shows flax increase 17 beta estradiol but has no effect on how the pen15 develops.) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26337632 (Lactating rats fed flax lead to hypercorticosteronaemia in adult male offspring.) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21448850 (Shows exposure during feeding of rats can have an impact on thyroid hormone metabolism in adult male offspring.) https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/01635580801971864 (Shows flax lowers shbg steroid hormone in obese women.) https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1207/S15327914nc391_8 (Shows decrease in 17 beta estradiol and estrone sulfate but increase in prolactin in postmenopausal women.) https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/00984109909350177 (Shows flaxseed potential to alter reproduction in a dose dependent manner) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25163581 (This case study showed a woman went into anaphylactic shock after ingesting linseed containing bread.) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23550019 (Endocrine disruptors and phytoestrogen underlie a suit of adverse human health effects. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12943716 (Consumption of phytoestrogens alter hormone sensitive hypothalamic brain volumes in mice.) https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/0022473187902007 (Shows an inverse correlation with high fiber to excretion of estrogen.) https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/096007609390022O (Shows inhibition of aromatase.) http://joe.endocrinology-journals.org/content/147/2/295.short (Shows that lignans and isoflavones inhibit 5a-reductase.) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8049151 (Shows another reduction in aromatase activity. Most of these studies are supporting the fact that these effects can lower cancer risk so I think there is a form of dogma throughout this research that has been done.) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8594308 (Phytoestrogens like flaxseed oil modulate shbg steroid binding protein and effect the delivery of this protein to s*x steroid dependent cells.) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/29699226 (Shows a decrease in LH, FSH, and estradiol in postmenopausal women.) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9039826 (Shows genistein (phytoestrogen) causes increase in uterine weight and has an effect on mammary glands and HPA axis.) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12629420 (Perinatal exposure to genistein had lasting alterations in the masculinization of the reproductive system in rats.) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10022277 (Shows phytoestrogens are endocrine disruptors just like any exogenous form of hormones.)

AGAINST CANCER By Consuming GREEN TEA & Linseed (FLAXSEEDS). How to PREVENT & CURE CANCER NATURALLY?

10:26
PREVENT and CURE CANCER with Green tea, and flaxseed. Flax has roots dating back to ancient Egypt and China, making it one of the oldest fiber crops to be recorded. Flaxseeds are a rich source of nutrients, such as manganese, vitamin B-1, and omega-3 fatty acids. Although researchers are still exploring the potential health benefits of flaxseed, some people think it protects against a number of conditions ranging from diabetes to prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer affecting American men. Approximately 1 in 7 men will be diagnosed with this disease. The health benefits of flaxseed This fiber-rich food can help you manage your blood sugar levels. The omega-3s found in flaxseed may help lower blood pressure and reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease. Dietary lignans are estrogen-like compounds that can benefit women’s overall health. Many of flaxseed’s benefits come from its high-fiber and omega-3 content. It’s also rich in phytochemicals known as lignans. These phytochemicals are in many fiber-rich foods and considered a natural antioxidant. Although more research is necessary, it’s been suggested that eating flaxseed can help: reduce cholesterol levels manage hot flashes improve blood sugar in obese men and women with prediabetes relieve constipation boost cardiovascular health Some people think the dietary lignans in flaxseed contribute to the seed’s cancer-fighting properties. This may be because lignans are a type of phytoestrogen, which is similar to the hormone estrogen. Because of this, lignans may be beneficial for people with hormone-linked cancers. This includes prostate cancer. What the research says Flaxseed consumption may reduce the risk of prostate cancer. Researchers in one 2014 study found that flaxseed might help maintain overall prostate health and reduce the risk of an enlarged prostate. If you’ve already been diagnosed with prostate cancer, flaxseed consumption may be an effective complementary treatment. Researchers in one 2013 study concluded that the lignans in flaxseed might prevent cancerous cells from spreading in men with localized prostate cancer. Men receiving radiation treatment for prostate cancer may also benefit from flaxseeds. Researchers in one 2007 animal study looked at the potential radioprotective effects of flaxseed oil. Researchers found that mice treated with flaxseed oil had a longer lifespan after radiation than mice in the control group. These mice also had fewer radiation-related deficits in weight. Research regarding flaxseed’s effect on prostate cancer is ongoing. Overall, health experts still aren’t sure why flaxseeds and other lignans may help with prostate health and cancer prevention. How to use flaxseed Flaxseed is available in many forms. Although you can purchase flaxseed supplements or capsules, many people opt to add flaxseed to their diet. It’s thought that the most benefit can be derived from ground flaxseed, as whole flaxseed may pass through your system undigested. You can buy flaxseed at most grocery or health food stores. If you buy whole flax seed, you can grind the seeds in a coffee grinder to maximize their potential health benefits. If you store them in an airtight container, ground flaxseed can last several months. You may keep whole seeds fresh by storing them in the refrigerator. You can add flaxseed to your diet in several ways. You may consider adding about a tablespoon of ground flaxseed to: breakfast cereal yogurt smoothies Some raw or unripe flaxseeds contain toxins. Although flaxseed is generally safe when you eat it in small amounts, consuming more than 5 tablespoons, or 50 grams, of whole flaxseed per day may cause mild side effects. If you wish to eat a larger amount, toast, cook, or bake the seeds. Although this will destroy the toxins, this may decrease the potential nutritional benefits. Risks and warnings Risks Consuming large amounts of flaxseed may cause mild gastrointestinal discomfort. Flaxseed may affect your blood sugar or blood pressure. You shouldn’t eat flaxseed if you have a bowel disorder. Most people can eat flaxseed or flaxseed oil without experiencing any side effects. You should stay hydrated when consuming flaxseed. The seed is naturally absorbent and eating it can lead to dehydration if you don’t use moderation when consuming it. If you consume over 5 tablespoons of certain raw or unripe flaxseeds, you may experience mild side effects, including: bloating a stomachache indigestion gas You shouldn’t eat flaxseed if you have in inflammatory bowel disease, diverticulitis, or frequent diarrhea. Flaxseed may lower your blood sugar levels, so people with diabetes or hypoglycemia should exercise caution. You should also consult your doctor before eating flaxseed if you’re taking anticoagulants or blood pressure medication.

(All proceeds Dr. Greger receives from the sales of his books, DVDs, and speaking engagements go to support the 501c3 nonprofit that runs NutritionFacts.org.) DESCRIPTION: A randomized double-blind placebo-controlled clinical trial of flaxseeds in breast cancer patients finds flax appears to have the potential to reduce tumor growth in just a matter of weeks. The population data I mention at the beginning is from the previous video Flaxseeds & Breast Cancer Survival: Epidemiological Evidence (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/flaxseeds-breast-cancer-survival-epidemiological-evidence/). And before that, the role lignan phytonutrients may play in prevention: Flaxseeds & Breast Cancer Prevention (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/flaxseeds-breast-cancer-prevention/). I have some more videos coming up on the role diet plays in angiogenesis, the formation of new blood vessels to enable tumors to grow, but I have touched on it already in Cancer as an Autoimmune Disease and How Tumors Use Meat to Grow: Xeno-Autoantibodies. The results here are similar to what was found with the other class of phytoestrogens found in soy (Breast Cancer Survival and Soy). A study similar to this was carried out in prostate cancer patients: Flaxseed vs. Prostate Cancer (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/flaxseed-vs-prostate-cancer/). This is the final video of a series on flax. Also feel free to check out the ones on diabetes (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/flaxseed-vs-diabetes/) and sensitive skin (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/flaxseeds-for-sensitive-skin/). (All proceeds Dr. Greger receives from the sales of his books, DVDs, and speaking engagements go to support the 501c3 nonprofit that runs NutritionFacts.org.) DESCRIPTION: Benign prostatic hyperplasia, or BPH—an enlarged prostate gland—affects 80% of older men, but like many other Western chronic diseases it appears to be a consequence of our diet. The reference to diet affecting the growth of prostate cancer is covered in Tuesday's Ex Vivo Cancer Proliferation Bioassay (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/developing-an-ex-vivo-cancer-proliferation-bioassay/), with a follow-up in yesterday's video-of-the-day (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/is-it-the-diet-the-exercise-or-both/). Until today I only had one BPH video (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/just-the-flax-maam/), in which flax seeds were found to work as well as the leading drug without any of the adverse side effects. In tomorrow's video-of-the-day, Prostate vs. Plants (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/prostate-versus-plants/), I'll explore other foods that have been found to help. Then on Monday, Prostate vs. a Plant-Based Diet (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/prostate-versus-a-plant-based-diet/), will replicate the prostate cancer experiments with normal prostate cells to see if eating healthier can also slow their growth. I have more than twice as many videos on women's health (http://nutritionfacts.org/topics/womens-health/) compared to men's health (http://nutritionfacts.org/topics/mens-health/), but these next few days will help close the gap! What happens in your body if you consume 2 tablespoons of flaxseed

03:48
This is what happens in your body when you consume 2 tablespoons of flaxseed every day. For centuries, flaxseed has been consumed as food. Rich in unsaturated oils and fibers, flaxseed is used by ariuric medicine in the fight against rheumatic diseases, urinary tract irritation and digestive and respiratory disorders. Flaxseed oil is rich in omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids and contains linoleic acid (omega 6) and oleic acid (omega 9). The nutritional deficiency of essential fatty acids can cause. dysfunction of the thyroid adrenal glands, deficiency in growth, increased blood cholesterol, dry skin, skin diseases, psoriasis, acne, scarring, alopecia, weakening of connective tissue and joints, Multiple sclerosis, prostate hypertrophy, Diarrhea and gallstones. Flaxseed contains trace elements, amino acids, minerals, monosaccharides, alpha-linolenic acid, fibers, lignin, unsaturated oils, proteins, among other elements. SOME BENEFITS: Reduces the rate of sugar in the blood. It helps to lose weight, because it promotes satiety. Fight against constipation. Reduces bad cholesterol. Prevents degenerative and cardiovascular diseases (atherosclerosis). Prevents anemia and malnutrition. Prevents several types of cancer (breast, prostate, colon, lung). Prevents and assists in the treatment of asthma, dermatological conditions (such as lupus erythematosus) and nephritis. Helps fight against rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis. All these benefits can be obtained by simply consuming two tablespoons of flaxseed every day. To preserve the nutritional and therapeutic properties of flaxseed, crush it in the blender and consume the meal immediately. Add fresh bran to brown rice before serving, yogurt, salad, soup, vitamin, juice. Use it also in the preparation of cakes and breads. Eat Few Pumpkin Seeds Before Bed And This Will Happen

03:25
Let’s be honest – most of us crave a snack every once in a while. Instead of reaching for a candy bar in between meals, try keeping a healthy snack handy. Not only do pumpkin seeds make a crunchy and satisfying treat, they also provide some amazing health benefits for the body! 1.Restful Sleep Pumpkin seeds are a rich source of tryptophan, an amino acid (protein building block) that your body converts into serotonin, which in turn is converted into melatonin, the "sleep hormone." Eating pumpkin seeds a few hours before bed, along with a carbohydrate like a small piece of fruit, may be especially beneficial for providing your body the tryptophan needed for your melatonin and serotonin production to help promote a restful night's sleep. 2.Plant-Based Omega-3 Fats Pumpkin seeds, along with other nuts and seeds, are a healthy source of plant-based omega-3’s. Getting an adequate amount of Omega-3’s in your diet can help reduce your risk of heart disease and give your immune system a healthy boost. 3.Anti-Diabetic Effects Pumpkin seeds may be especially beneficial in individuals who are diabetic or pre-diabetic. Studies have shown that pumpkin seeds can help improve insulin regulation in the body to prevent diabetic complication by decreasing oxidative stress. 4.Anti-inflammatory Benefits Research has shown that pumpkin seed oil provides anti-inflammatory benefits for the body. One study found that pumpkin seed oil performed just as well as the anti-inflammatory drug indomethacin in treating arthritis, without the dangerous side effects. 5.Zinc for Immune Support Pumpkin seeds are a rich source of zinc (one ounce contains more than 2-mg of this beneficial mineral). Zinc is important to your body in many ways, including immunity, cell growth and division, sleep, mood, your senses of taste and smell, eye and skin health, insulin regulation, and male sexual function. Zinc deficiency is associated with increased illness, chronic fatigue, depression and acne, among other health issues. 6.Magnesium for Heart Health Half a cup of pumpkin seeds contains nearly the full recommended daily amount of magnesium. Magnesium is needed for a wide range of functions in the body, including proper bone and tooth formation, DNA and RNA synthesis and the pumping of the heart. Proper magnesium intake benefits blood pressure to help prevent sudden cardiac arrest, heart attack and stroke. 7.Heart and Liver Health Pumpkin seeds are rich in healthy fats, dietary fiber and antioxidants, all of which can provide major benefits for heart and liver health. A healthy intake of Omega-3 fatty acids can help protect against both liver disease and heart failure. Antioxidants also play a role in keeping the heart and liver healthy and strong. 8.Prostate Health Pumpkin seeds have long been valued as an important natural food for men's health. This is in part because of their high zinc content, which is important for prostate health (where it is found in the highest concentrations in the body), and also because pumpkin seed extracts and oils may play a role in treating benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH, or enlarged prostate). Research suggests that both pumpkin seed oil and pumpkin seeds may be particularly beneficial in supporting prostate health.

DESCRIPTION: Young women at high risk for breast cancer given just a teaspoon of ground flaxseed a day showed fewer precancerous changes. Today starts a three-part video series on the role flaxseeds may play in the prevention and treatment of breast cancer. I covered their role in prostate cancer in Flaxseed vs. Prostate Cancer (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/flaxseed-vs-prostate-cancer/) and Was It the Flaxseed, Fat Restriction, or Both? (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/was-it-the-flaxseed-fat-restriction-or-both/). When I say "why isn't it just like the fiber story" I'm referring to the previous video Fiber vs. Breast Cancer (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/fiber-vs-breast-cancer/). The graph comparing the lignin contents of various foods is from this video: Breast Cancer Survival and Lignan Intake (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/breast-cancer-survival-and-lignan-intake/). Sorry if I covered the UTI-breast cancer connection a little fast—more background on the role our good bacteria play in Flax and Fecal Flora (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/flax-and-fecal-flora/). As I note in the Flaxseeds For Sensitive Skin (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/flaxseeds-for-sensitive-skin/) video, ground flax stays fresh even at room temperature for at least a month. Natural Foods To Improve Prostate Health

03:46
Follow us on Twitter: @foods4health1 Recipes4Health: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2bZhXBHIb51n1fE3VWPmcQ/videos To learn more about the health benefits of food, visit: http://www.benefitsoffood.blogspot.com Although prostate disorders and concerns tend to show up as men get older into their 40’s and beyond, this doesn’t mean younger individuals should not take prostate health into consideration as well. Prevention is very important in this regard, and fortunately, there are foods we can consume that can not only keep us healthy overall, but specifically promote the health of our prostate. These foods are quite popular in most diet and consist of many different foods groups, so choosing the right foods for you to enjoy can be done so quite easily. Always discuss with your medical practitioner other treatment and prevention methods when it comes to prostate health. Now, lets discuss some foods that can promote prostate health when consumed consistently. 1. First, green tea has many different health benefits for our bodies, one of which is promoting prostate health. Studies have shown that men who regularly drink green tea daily can reduce the risk of developing prostate disorders and even reduce the chances of developing prostate cancer. This is often associated with the powerful antioxidant compounds found in the tea called catechins, a powerful and potent polyphenol that eliminates unwanted bacteria, boosts our immune system and even help reduce the risk of prostate cancer. The catechin EGCG is especially important when it comes to prostate health. 2. Berries can also be especially helpful in promoting prostate health. Consuming strawberries, raspberries and blueberries helps us to get a wide-range of important antioxidant compounds that can help to prevent damage in the body, reduce free radicals and even reduce some types of cancer. The high level of vitamin C and antioxidants can even help to reduce the risk and symptoms of prostate swelling and promote urination. 3. Salmon isn’t just a great source of healthy fats, but it can also help to promote the health of our prostate. Studies have shown that a diet that is rich in omega-3 fats can actually help to boost overall prostate health and may even help to lower the risk of developing prostate ailments and cancer. This is often attributed to the wonderful anti-inflammatory effects of salmon and its ability to inhibit tumor growth. 4. Nuts such as brazil nuts can also be especially important when it comes to the overall health of our prostate. Brazil nuts are loaded with healthy nutrition for our bodies and can help to reduce the risk of disease and increase energy. Even more importantly for prostate health, Brazil nuts are packed with selenium. In fact, just a couple of Brazil nuts daily will provide more than 100% of the daily recommended value of selenium, so be sure to consume them in moderation. Some studies have shown that selenium can help to promote the health of our prostate and may even help to reduce swelling and the risk of prostate cancer. 5. Lastly, surprising to some, but watermelon can also help to promote prostate health. How To Eat Flax Seeds Regularly In Your Diet

02:43
Most of us under estimate flax seeds but they contain lots of nutrients. You just need to know how to eat flax seeds regularly. These seeds contain fibre content. Most of us seldom consume enough fibre and that is why simply including these seeds will help you get some fibre. And then they also contain omega 3 fatty acids which can reduce inflammation. Also, certain studies claim that flax seeds can reduce the risk of prostate cancer and breast cancer. Also, women who reach the phase of menopause can consume flax seeds to reduce hot flashes. Now, let us discuss about certain ways to include flax seeds in your diet. Tip #1 Grind a teaspoon of flax seeds and add them to your cup of coffee and drink it. This is a good way to consume flax seeds. Tip #2 If you are eating sandwiches for breakfast, simply mix powdered flax seeds to mayonnaise and spread the mixture on your breads. Tip #3 You can add a teaspoon of powdered flax seeds to a bowl of yoghurt before consuming it. Tip #4 Along with almonds and walnuts, you can also add a spoon of flax seeds to the bowl of morning cereal. Tip #5 Another good idea is to sprinkle the powder of flax seeds on your pasta. Tip #6 Your puddings and ice creams may also taste better when you sprinkle flax seed powder on them. These are some good ideas to get more nutrition from flax seeds. Tip #7 Mix a few drops of honey to flax seeds powder and smear it on your pancakes before eating them. Omega 3s, Prostate Cancer, and Atrial Fibrillation

Vitamin D3 Supplementation Treats Prostate Cancer

04:33
Patients with low risk prostate cancer under active surveillance may benefit from vitamin D3 supplementation at 4000 IU per day according to an article in the Journal of Endocrinology Metabolism. In patients with Gleason 6 prostate cancers, those treated with 4000 IU of vitamin D3 for one year, 55% had a decrease in Gleason findings or fewer positive biopsies, 11% were without change, and 34% were somewhat worse. The PSA scores did not change in these patients. Levels of vitamin D less than 20 ng/ml showed a strong correlation with increased risk for death. We know that vitamin D increases differentiation of cancer cells. Besides treating Gleason 6 prostate cancers with vitamin D, there are other approaches that could be of value, such as an alkaline diet, use of modified citrus pectin, flax seed oil, lifestyle strategies, mushrooms, antioxidants, vitamin C and K. There are many articles supporting this approach such as one done by Dean Ornish, MD. Take Dr. Saputo's Cancer Health Assessment Once you have cancer you want to know what you can do to get rid of it and keep it gone! In this Health Assessment we will ask you questions about what treatment(s) you have undergone, which complementary and alternative treatments might be of interest to you, what lifestyle factors could help slow down or prevent a recurrence, and what you might want to consider if your cancer is causing pain or if your situation is terminal. http://doctorsaputo.com/a/cancer-health-assessment

(All proceeds Dr. Greger receives from the sales of his books, DVDs, and speaking engagements go to support the 501c3 nonprofit that runs NutritionFacts.org.) DESCRIPTION: Researchers set to find out what it was about a flaxseed-supplemented lower fat diet that so effectively appeared to decrease prostate cancer growth. If the title of this video made no sense to you, make sure you see the first half of Flaxseed vs. Prostate Cancer (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/flaxseed-vs-prostate-cancer/). This reminds me of the experiment described in Is It the Diet, the Exercise, or Both? (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/is-it-the-diet-the-exercise-or-both/) in which researchers try to tease out the individual effects of a similar composite treatment—a plant-based diet and walking—on the growth of prostate cancer cells in vitro. The difference between what researchers say they're testing and what actually gets tested (like the "low" fat diet here) comes up over and over (for example in EPIC Study http://nutritionfacts.org/video/epic-study/). In the next video Flaxseed vs. Diabetes (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/flaxseed-vs-diabetes/) we'll see what hope our 7th leading killer has against the humble flax seed. 6 Side Effects Of Chia Seeds You Should Heed

03:05
Please watch: "10 Home Remedies For A Burned Tongue!" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrB8jSRufkw --~-- 6 Side Effects Of Chia Seeds You Should Heed https://youtu.be/BzsKVWsxKmI The tiny chia seed can help with weight loss, diabetes, and hypercholesteremia. Each serving gives you a healthy dose of fiber, protein, and omega-3 fatty acids. Unfortunately, it may bring on constipation, flatulence, diarrhea, and an allergic reaction. Chia seeds can also cause thinning of your blood. They could even be a choking hazard if you don't prep the seeds correctly. 1. Can Cause Constipation Or Diarrhea: Chia seeds are very high in fiber content – at nearly 11 gm per ounce serving, it takes care of a sizable chunk of the American Dietetic, Association’s recommended fiber intake of 38 g for men and 25 g for women for the day. But a high-fiber diet doesn’t work for every body type. Too much fiber in one go can lead to flatulence, constipation, and diarrhea. 2. Can Make You Choke: Chia seeds have gained notoriety as a choking hazard. As one Time magazine report highlighted, incorrect consumption can lead to complications. When you don’t presoak your chia seeds or eat them without roasting, you run the risk of gagging or choking on them. You may even end up in the ER as a result. 3. Can Prevent Blood Clotting: As they are loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, chia seeds can act, as natural blood thinners, preventing your blood from clotting. If you are already taking blood-thinning medication like warfarin, steer clear of chia. For the same reason, avoid chia seeds right after a surgery to avoid excessive bleeding. 4. Can Worsen Your Diverticulitis: People with diverticulitis develop bulging sacs, or pockets called diverticula along the lining of the large intestine. These get inflamed and try to push out through the colon wall, causing pain (usually on the left side of the abdomen), bloating, or diarrhea. 5. Can Set Off An Allergic Reaction: Chia seeds have a lot of protein in them and that’s bad news if you are allergic to the protein in chia. For those with a nut or seed allergy, chia seeds may be off the table. Reactions can range from skin rashes and hives to watery eyes, vomiting, and diarrhea. Also watch out for repetitive coughing, wheezing, difficulty swallowing, and a hoarse throat. 6. Can Trigger Prostate Tumors: A 2010 study claimed, that the omega-3 fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid did not increase prostate cancer risk, and that it even marginally decreased the risk. But a recent 2013 study indicates that eating foods high in omega-3 fatty acids – like chia seeds which contain alpha-linolenic acid – could trigger the formation of prostate tumors. This could imply an increased risk of prostate cancer. THANKS FOR WATCHING MY VIDEO. SUBSCRIBE MY CHANNEL FOR MORE VIDEOS. Source: www.curejoy.com
