Is Coffee Bad for You?

05:11
For more info: https://draxe.com/coffee-nutrition-facts/?utm_campaign=Youtube-Jan-2015&utm_medium=social&utm_source=youtube&utm_term=coffee One of the most common questions I’ve been getting recently is, “Is coffee bad for you?” The answer is, yes … and no. Coffee is beneficial because it contains massive amounts of antioxidants, which help slow the aging process and protect you from free radical damage. Coffee also helps stimulate the liver and increases circulation, helping blood flow to the brain. Coffee can be harmful in some ways because of the amount of caffeine it contains. The caffeine in coffee can overstimulate the body, burn out your adrenal glands, and overtax your body. About 80% of people in the world will struggle with thyroid problems or fatigue issues. For this group, I wouldn’t recommend coffee because it will burn out your adrenal glands. However, if you’re generally healthy, then drinking coffee in moderate amounts can be fine, and even good for your health. I wouldn’t recommend drinking coffee past lunch time because it can affect your sleep cycle that night. Depending on the condition of your body, if you’re suffering from an autoimmune disease, coffee can make your disease worse. If you’re pretty healthy, looking for a pick-me-up, or looking for more antioxidants, then coffee can provide you these benefits. When picking out your coffee beans, I would recommend choosing all natural, organic coffee because it’s one of the most highly sprayed plants in the world. Lastly, if you’re looking for a great substitute for coffee, I would suggest drinking matcha green tea because it has great benefits and one-third the amount of caffeine. *This content is strictly the opinion of Dr. Josh Axe, and is for informational and educational purposes only. 5 Foods That Destroy Your Hormones and Skin

04:06
Once we leave the teenage years, we may think acne is a thing of the past. But later in life, an imbalance of hormones can shake things up and acne takes center stage again. An endocrine imbalance is the culprit responsible for triggering hormonal acne. Women in mid-cycle and/or right before their periods are easy prey. These are the two times a month when estrogen and testosterone spike. These two hormones can accumulate if not properly detoxed. And when estrogen dominates, the complexion is fertile ground where inflamed skin and acne can thrive. Luckily there is a natural solution that may provide relief. The first step is to pay attention to your diet. The food you ingest can disrupt your hormones which in turns, produces inflammation. But on the flip side, the right kinds of food can balance hormones and soothe your skin. In today’s video we’ll examine the foods which work for and against your hormones. Foods to Avoid 1. Soy Soy has been on the suspect list of instigating acne. If you think you are sensitive to soy, try eliminating it from your diet and see if your condition improves. It contains phytoestrogens which can create a hormonal imbalance. 2. Dairy Excess dairy consumption can contribute to a surplus of hormones that can lead to acne. Dairy is also a primary cause for leaky guy syndrome. 3. Gluten Like dairy, Gluten can disrupt hormones. It can create intestinal inflammation and produce a domino effect of health issues. 4. Caffeine Caffeine is a kick-starter for millions every morning. Yet it often comes with a tradeoff. It can take its toll on your skin’s immune response. A steady combination of coffee and tea can strip away many essential vitamins which are essential to maintaining a vibrant complexion. 5. Canola, Sunflower, Safflower and Vegetable Oil If you have acne-prone skin, put these oils on your radar as ones to avoid. They have certain nutrients that can ignite a fire storm on your complexion, especially during peak estrogen days. The Best Foods for Your Complexion 1. Avocados Avocados contain a substance that can bring hormone levels back under control. Adding avocados to your diet can be a natural defense system to ward off inflammation. 2. Turmeric Another spice you may already have in your kitchen cabinets is Turmeric. Besides its natural ability to reduce inflammation, pain and swelling, it’s also a remedy for your skin. 3. Chia Seeds One of the highest sources of omega-3’s in nature can be found in this gluten-free grain. These little marvels can stabilize blood sugar, improve insulin sensitivity and keep blood pressure spikes in check. 4. Cinnamon In your spice rack, you may already have a secret weapon. Cinnamon. This aromatic spice contains anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties that help regulate hormones. 5. Pomegranates Mood swings can be tempered by eating Pomegranates. They produce the same estrogens that female ovaries do. They also are rich in anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. -------------------------------------------------------- Disclaimer: The materials and the information contained on Natural Cures channel are provided for general and educational purposes only and do not constitute any legal, medical or other professional advice on any subject matter. Caffeine is More Like an Illegal Drug Than You Realized...

10:48
If you asked people what the world’s most popular drug is, what would the most common answer be? Many people will say marijuana, or cannabis if they’re pretentious potheads. There will be some people that get closer by saying tobacco or alcohol. Probably fewer than say weed, because when most of us hear the word drug we think of illegal drugs. However, none of these are correct. The right answer: caffeine. We don’t think of drinking coffee as doing drugs, but that’s what it is. So read on to find out more about the only recreational drug that your parents will encourage you to take with that Starbucks gift card they send you at Christmas. →Subscribe for new videos every day! https://www.youtube.com/user/toptenznet?sub_confirmation=1 Help us translate our videos: https://www.youtube.com/timedtext_cs_queue?msg=10&tab=0 - Learn more why you might want to help: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/6052538 Find more lists at: http://www.toptenz.net Entertaining and educational top 10 lists from TopTenzNet! Warning Signs That You're Zinc Deficient

05:53
For more info: https://draxe.com/zinc-deficiency/?utm_campaign=Youtube-Feb-2015&utm_medium=social&utm_source=youtube&utm_term=zincdeficient Today I’m going to share with you the five warning signs that you’re zinc deficient. About 75% of people in the world are deficient, so being deficient in zinc is very common. The 5 warning signs you’re zinc deficient: 1.) If you get sick a lot or have immune system issues 2.) Have leaky gut (http://draxe.com/7-signs-symptoms-you-have-leaky-gut/) 3.) If you struggle with diarrhea or IBS 4.) Thinning hair 5.) Inflammatory skin issues like acne, eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis One of the biggest factors in causing zinc deficiency is high levels of emotional stress. The second most common cause of zinc deficiency is over-exercise. The third most common reason your zinc deficient is if you’re pregnant or breast feeding. Lastly, if you’re older, you may tend to have malabsorption, which causes a zinc deficiency. In order to get more zinc in your diet, you need to consume more zinc-rich foods. The top 5 zinc-rich foods are pumpkin seeds, oysters, grass-fed beef, sprouted nuts and seeds, and peas. Additionally, probiotics are a key supplement to take when zinc deficient because it can help your overall absorption of nutrients. For more information on zinc deficiency, you can check out this article: http://draxe.com/zinc-deficiency/ *This content is strictly the opinion of Dr. Josh Axe, and is for informational and educational purposes only. Is coffee bad for you ? Shocking Side Effect of Coffee | Caffeine | Bad Effect of Coffee

03:51
Is coffee bad for you ? Shocking Side Effect of Coffee | Caffeine | bad Effect of Coffee.. Coffee is safe for most adults. Drinking more than 6 cups/day might cause “caffeinism” with symptoms such as anxiety or agitation. People who drink a lot of coffee every day may need to drink more coffee to get the same effects. They may also become “dependent” on coffee to the point that they develop withdrawal symptoms if they suddenly stop drinking it. Here are 10 side effects of coffee. 1.Pre3 gnancy Caffeinated coffee is probably safe for pregnant women in amounts of 2 cups per day or less. This amount of coffee provides about 200 mg of caffeine. However, drinking more than this amount has been linked to an increased risk of miscarriage, premature birth, and low birth weight. These risks increase as the amount of coffee the mother drinks during pregnancy increases. 2.b*ea*t-feeding. Drinking 1 or 2 of cups of coffee per day seems to be safe for breast-feeding mothers and their infants. But the caffeine in larger amounts can irritate a nursing infant’s digestive tract and also cause sleep problems and irritability. 3.Children. It may be unsafe for children to drink caffeinated coffee. The side effects associated with caffeine are usually more severe in children than adults. 4.Ble 3ding disorders. There is some concern that coffee might make bleeding disorders worse. 5.Heart disease. Drinking unfiltered (boiled) coffee increases the amount of cholesterol and other fats in the blood, and also raises the level of homocysteine, all of which are associated with an increased risk of developing heart disease. Some research suggests an association between heart attacks and drinking coffee. 6.Diabetes. Some research suggests that caffeine contained in coffee might change the way people with diabetes process sugar. Caffeine has been reported to cause increases as well as decreases in blood sugar. Use caffeine with caution if you have diabetes and monitor your blood sugar carefully. 7.Diarrhea. Coffee contains caffeine. The caffeine in coffee, especially when taken in large amounts, can worsen diarrhea. 8.Glaucoma . Drinking caffeinated coffee increases pressure inside the eye. The increase starts within 30 minutes and lasts for at least 90 minutes. 9.High blood pressure . Drinking caffeinated coffee might increase blood pressure in people with high blood pressure. However, this effect might be less in people who drink coffee regularly. 10.Thinning bones (osteoporosis) . Drinking caffeinated coffee can increase the amount of calcium that is flushed out in the urine. This might weaken bones. If you have osteoporosis, limit caffeine consumption to less than 300 mg per day (approximately 2-3 cups of coffee). Taking calcium supplements may help to make up for calcium that is lost. Postmenopausal women who have an inherited condition that keeps them from processing vitamin D normally, should be especially cautious when using caffeine. Coffee might be unsafe when given rectally as an enema. Coffee enemas have been linked to cases of severe side effects including death. -------------------------------------------- Images are licensed under CC, ------------------------------------------- Blog : https://webhealthremedy.blogspot.com/ Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/Health-Remed... Top 4 Drinks That Make Intermittent Fasting EASIER - Drink This, Not That!

07:33
The Science Of Six Pack Abs: http://go.sixpackabs.com/scien0831 Subscribe To Thomas's Channel: http://www.YouTube.com/TheTDeLauer I'm talking about what to consume and what NOT to consume when it comes to intermittent fasting. Thomas DeLauer here today with SixPackAbs.com to get right down to the science, as always, of what things you need to be taking in that will not break your fast and that need to be eaten during the eating window. Let's get right to it: 0:20 - What CAN you consume while you're intermittent fasting? - 0:20 #1 - 0:40 - Apple Cider Vinegar. The acetic acid found in apple cider vinegar helps with mineral uptake in the body. That's crucial because while in a fasted state your body technically is being mineral deprived. 1:35 - Acetic acid helps your body absorb as many nutrients and minerals as it can. 1:45 - Polyphenols act as a prebiotic-type substance, increasing the amoung of healthy bacteria in the gut, such as Lactobacilius and Bifidobacteria. #2 - 2:07 - Sea Salt Water Do NOT drink sea water - rather, add sea salt to your water throughout the day. 2:25 - Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt to a 1 gallon jug of drinking water. 2:34 - Sodium/Potassium Ion Exchange & Sodium/Potassium ATPase 3:04 - You can also add a small amount of cream of tartar 3:20 - How to tell if you're potassium deficient: 3:26 - Craming up during a workout = potassium deficiency; cramping up after a workout = magnesium deficinecy #3 - 3:41 - Green Tea Tea will not break a fast. 3:51 - Epigfallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) & Cholecystokinin (CKK). CKK increases the level of dopaine in the brain, which decreases hunger. 4:13 - Catecholamine #4 - 4:33 - Coffee Coffee will not break a fast either. Remember this is in reference to black coffee, free of artificial or natural sweeteners, creamers, milk, etc. 4:48 - Black coffee blocks adenosine. When adenosine is blocked the amount of other neurotransmitters like norepinephrine and dopamine actually increases, leading to enhanced firing of neurons. 5:08 - Coffee increases the number of receptors for Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). 5:50 - Despite increasing receptors, caffine also inhibits the release of GABA, which contributes to the feeling of alertness. 5:56 - What NOT to drink during a fast - 5:56 6:18 - Creamers and sugars will break your fast, so no creamers, sugar, or sweeteners in your coffee. 6:23 - BCAA's or branched-chain amino acid mixes will break a fast. 6:45 - Avoid sugar alcohols - e.g. diet sodas containing truvia It's essential that you stick within these rules to keep in a fasted state to truely get all the benefits from I.F. Have you been putting those additives into your coffee? Drinking BCAA's? Or even drinking those "zero" energy drinks? Let me know if you have by leaving a comment via Facebook at http://sixpackabs.com/4-drinks-that-wont-break-a-fast-what-to-avoid-while-intermittent-fasting/ As always, keep it locked in here at SixPackAbs.com by making sure to: Like, Share, & Subscribe to the channel. (He started experimenting with low carb paleo about 7 years ago) Website: http://meatheals.com/ This video is a break down of what I thought to be common concerns when it comes to the carnivore diet, recently popularized by Jordan Peterson & His daughter Mikhaila Peterson. Some might call it "extreme" or "dangerous" or "a really bad idea," but is it? Many people are having several health conditions healed by eating this diet, some are having improvements despite having been doing a paleo diet or keto diet. People are having relief from arthritis, psoriasis, and various inflammatory conditions, and yes they are experiencing weight loss too. But what about nutrients? Isn't a lack of vitamin C going to give them all scurvy? What about constipation due to no fiber? And why would cutting out plants heal people? This is what the video addresses. What Happens to Your Body When You Start Eating Honey Every Day

09:06
Honey is the only product which contains all the necessary ingredients to keep you alive and healthy: vitamins, enzymes, minerals, and water. Today, we are exploring all of its benefits and healthy properties. Honey is sweet, made by bees, and Winnie-the-Pooh loves it. But do you also know that honey has existed for millions of years? That honey will never spoil if kept in an airtight container? We at Bright Side have been looking for quite some time for such a product, and it turned out to be natural honey. And we're definitely going to eat a spoonful of it every day from now on! TIMESTAMPS Clearer skin 0:51 Loss of excess weight 2:37 Lowered cholesterol level 3:44 Stronger heart 4:27 Better memory 5:08 Sounder sleep 6:03 Healthier stomach 6:28 Relieved nervous tension 7:14 Honey and garlic combo 7:44 SUMMARY Honey and garlic combo When combined with another natural remedy with strong antiseptic and healing properties — garlic — the power of honey will increase tenfold. Garlic-infused honey will boost your immune system and keep you in good health. You're going to need the following ingredients: • 3-4 heads of garlic • 1 cup raw honey • a small jar with a lid Separate the garlic heads into cloves, and remove their outer layers. Put them into the jar, and then pour honey over them. Remove bubbles if necessary. Cover the jar with a lid, and put it away to infuse for a few days. Take one spoonful a day on an empty stomach, and you will feel energized and healthy like never before. Hopefully, you are already running to your kitchen or the nearest store to start your honey-based treatment. But remember just one thing: like overindulging in anything else, eating too much honey can cause some serious problems. Maybe you have noticed that in all the recipes all you need is one or maximum two spoonfuls of honey. No wonder. If you eat more, it can dramatically increase your sugar level, cause allergy, or lead to putting on excess weight. Therefore, eat it moderately! Why You Should NOT Drink Alkaline Water

02:55
Take Dr. Berg's Free Keto Mini-Course: http://pxlme.me/-i717vtY or go here: https://www.drberg.com/how-to-do-ketosis SUGGESTION: Drink filtered water, spring water from bottles BPA-free. I am recommending not using an actual machine, which artificially makes alkaline water. VIDEO ON PH: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHfYr... Dr. Berg talks about alkaline water. The problem is, in nature water does come in an alkaline state because of the minerals. When you artificially make water alkaline, you split apart the water molecules with electricity to make it alkaline but without the minerals. Its the minerals that add the "x" factor in water, not just H2O. There are problems long term that can occur with drinking artificially make alkaline water - the neutralization of body acids (stomach, large intestines and urine). I have found that some people who drink alkaline water end up with a urine of a pH of 9, completely off the scale when it should be 5-6. This breads microbes. Making your entire body alkaline can create problems with electrolytes (affecting the heart), the muscles, and slow digestion, because you need a strong acid stomach. How to Overcome Adrenal Fatigue

06:58
For more info: https://draxe.com/3-steps-to-heal-adrenal-fatigue/?utm_campaign=Youtube-Nov-2014&utm_medium=social&utm_source=youtube&utm_term=adrenalfatigue In this video, I’m going to walk you through the steps to overcome adrenal fatigue. Most fatigue problems and adrenal insufficiency come from issues with the adrenal glands. About 80% of the population deals with this common problem. There are several warning signs that indicate you may have adrenal fatigue. If you struggle with fatigue, are stressed, anxious, have trouble with concentration, poor memory, thyroid issues, or gained mysterious weight, you may have adrenal fatigue. There are three steps you will want to take to get rid of adrenal fatigue for good. The first starts with your diet. Foods to get out of your diet are caffeine, sugar, and hydrogenated oils. Foods that are high in vitamin B12 and magnesium are going to support your adrenal glands and blood sugar levels, so you will want to add these foods into your diet. Foods like coconut oil, coconut milk, coconut, olives, olive oil, raw dairy products, grass-fed butter, organic meats, loads of vegetables, and seaweed are all crucial to your diet as well. Secondly, you will want to support your adrenals by taking supplements like adaptogenic herbs (such as ashwagandha, holy basil, and licorice root), which will help your body adapt and deal with stress. Additionally, a vitamin B complex, magnesium, vitamin D, selenium will support the healing of your adrenals. Lastly, you should focus on lowering your stress levels. Try getting 8-10 hours of sleep a night, reflect and address your stressors, add fun activities into your routine, and exercise. If you follow these three steps, you will be well on your way to naturally healing adrenal fatigue. 18 Harmful Foods We Often Give to Children

10:23
How to Keep Your Child Healthy. Proper nutrition is super important for your children’s health and well-being. If you wish them well and don’t want them to settle for unhealthy food choices that they are likely to repeat as they become older, pay attention to this video. It turns out some common foods we consider healthy are actually really bad for your kids. Here’s a list the foods that are harmful to children as well as wholesome alternatives. Even milk, juice, yogurt and cereal can be dangerous. Junk food is not surprisingly loaded with salt, sugar, and saturated fat. When consumed regularly, this deadly trio could cause obesity, high cholesterol, and cardiovascular diseases. However, when consumed daily and in large amounts, they may increase the risk of heart disease, diabetes, high cholesterol, and spikes in blood pressure. -Chicken nuggets must go because they’re packed with preservatives, calories, salt, and a bit of sugar. -Potato chips contain loads of sodium and fat. Chips should never land in your grocery basket, and they should stay out of your child’s life as well. -Ketchup is made from sugar, corn syrup, food coloring, and extra fat. -Mac and cheese contains sodium, food preservatives, and noodles stripped of fiber. This same goes for canned spaghetti and ramen in plastic packages. -Canned tuna contains high levels of mercury, which is dangerous for their health. -Cake, cookies, doughnuts, candies, and fruit snacks can cause tooth decay and cavities. -According to the FDA, unpasteurized milk carries dangerous bacteria such as salmonella, E. coli, and listeria. And indeed, immediately following caffeine consumption, you will feel a boost in energy. Yet, the story of how coffee relates to energy levels (and fatigue) is more complex than it seems on the surface. I'll give you a clue why I say this: Every day, thousands of people do Google searches with questions like "why does coffee make me sleepy?", and "coffee makes me tired?", and "can coffee make you tired?" The truth is that while coffee and caffeine do give an immediate boost in energy, daily consumption of coffee is actually slowly degrading your energy over time without you realizing it. How to Get Taller Naturally: The Real Science Behind Increasing Your Height

04:39
To support our channel and level up your health, check out: Our Fast Weight Loss Course: http://thehealthnerds.com/the-science-of-fast-weight-loss-course Our Better Health Basics Course: http://thehealthnerds.com/food-health-happiness Today we’re going to be talking about how to get taller naturally and what the science says about increasing your height. Let’s get into it by starting with some myths about height growth as there are quite a few • Jumping rope • Drinking tons of milk • Playing certain sports like basketball or swimming • Hanging upside down from the ceiling like Spiderman. • Doing yoga or certain types of exercise • Putting salt in your shoes All of these things are NOT going to make you taller and things like caffeine, diet coke, and weight lifting will not stunt your growth. http://www.nytimes.com/2005/10/18/health/the-claim-drinking-coffee-can-stunt-a-childs-growth.html These are all complete myths and have the same scientific credibility of bigfoot. So, can I actually get taller naturally after puberty? Natural growth usually stops between ages 18-25 when your bones ossify and your epiphyseal plates seal off. Once those plates are sealed, 90% of potential growth is done. What factors effect growth? Roughly 60-80% of your height is determined by genetics while the other 20%-40% is determined by nutrition and hormone secretion. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/how-much-of-human-height/ Here are 5 Important Factors for Naturally Height Growth and Maximizing Your Current Height 1. Eat a lot of calories, including protein. After the world war II, Japan added in a lot more fish protein and calories into their natural diets and because of this, saw the average height of the country increase by 3 inches. http://www.westonaprice.org/health-topics/inside-japan-surprising-facts-about-japanese-foodways/ Countries like Denmark have also shown that the height of the country increases as it’s wealth and consumption of calories grows. http://www.randalolson.com/2014/06/23/why-the-dutch-are-so-tall/ So eat lots of whole natural foods especially during those early years for more growth. 2. Sleeeeeeeeep Especially during the hours of 10pm-2am because those are the most important hours for height hormone secretion. Both human growth hormones and testosterone play vital roles in the height and they have massive spikes during that time of rest. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3065172/ So if you’re a young person, those late nights on the hotline bling are not cutting it if you want to be tall. 3. Get lots of vitamin D Go out in the sun and get up your natural vitamin D because this hormone also plays a major role on testosterone secretion. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21154195 On the days you’re not out in the sun you can supplement with vitamin D3. 4. Don’t consume crap While factors improving height is still hotly debated, it is well known that certain foods and substances do stunt one’s potential growth. Sodas contain phosphorous which has been shown to lower bone density. Soy products like tofu and soy sauce contain phytic acid which can reduce the absorption of calcium. Children who too much sugar tend to be shorter than their peers. http://www.livestrong.com/article/554090-does-sugar-permanently-stunt-the-growth-in-children/ Finally smoking doesn’t seem to help either as it’s been documented to stunt the growth of teenage boys. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/03/080331135155.htm If you just focus on consuming lots of dark leafy greens, fresh fruits, whole proteins, healthy fats and having the occasional treat, you will be fine! 5. Improve posture This is something you can do at any age that will improve your height. Just stand with your butt, shoulders, and back of you head against a wall for 20 minutes a day. This is the correct posture for your spine and may feel a little weird the first time you do it. This process alone can add 2 or so inches to your height depending on how much slouching you do. Also, consider doing some Yoga and stretch out those hip flexors that get weakened from sitting all day! Closing thought nerd family: What’s much more noticeable than one’s height is how one carry’s themselves. There are plenty of tall people who appear short and shorter people who appear tall based on their confidence, presence, and overall energy. While there’s not much one can do to improve their height, how you feel, look and love yourself is completely in your control. It may not make you any taller, but it can help you shed excess weight, feel better about yourself, and start to love the way you look. #1. Don’t fall for myths or common ploys #2. Consume plenty of calories and healthy proteins #3. Sleep lots #4. Get in vitamin D daily #5. Don’t consume crap #6. Stand tall nerds!

What Does Sugar Do To Your Body? 10 Proven Negative Effects of Sugar

05:05
To support our channel and level up your health, check out: Our Fast Weight Loss Course: http://thehealthnerds.com/the-science-of-fast-weight-loss-course Our Better Health Basics Course: http://thehealthnerds.com/food-health-happiness Today, we’re going to be answering the question of what does sugar do to your body and the 10 negative effects of sugar. #1. Sugar can give you wrinkles and adds age to your face Scientists from the Leiden University Medical Centre, in the Netherlands, measured the blood sugar levels of 600 men and women aged between 50 and 70. In fact, for every 1mm/liter increase in blood sugar, the perceived age of that person rose by five months. http://www.research.leiden.edu/news/looking-older-blood-sugar-plays-a-role.html #2. Sugar is Also Associated With Acne Foods ranked high on the Glycemic Index such as sugar and refined carbs have been associated with greater amounts of acne on the face and body according to the latest research. A study of Australian men showed that those who ate a diet with a low glycemic load saw a great reduction in overall acne. It was a small study with only 23 men but is still food for thought. https://www.aad.org/media/news-releases/growing-evidence-suggests-possible-link-between-diet-and-acne #3. Sugary drinks cause an 83% increase in developing type II diabetes In one study of 91,249 women showed those who consumed 1 sugar-sweetened beverage a day had an 83% increased risk of developing type II diabetes compared to those who had only 1 a month. #4. People who eat sugar are at a much higher risk of cancer There has been a direct link seen between breast, and colon cancer with sugar consumption. http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/0306987783900956 http://cebp.aacrjournals.org/content/6/9/677.short This is likely due to the fact that insulin is one of the key factors behind the growth and multiplication of cells, and sugar spikes insulin to abnormally high levels. #5. Sugar Can Ruin Your Teeth A study by the American Journal of clinical nutrition showed that sugar destroys the healthy bacteria in our mouth. This can cause tooth erosions and may dim that bright smile. http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/78/4/881S.full What about sugar and weight gain? There are 5 proven reason sugar leads to added weight gain... #6. Sugar is the premier definition of empty calories. It has no real nutritional value, no nutrients, no minerals, no proteins, and no fiber. Because of this lack of nutrients… #7. Sugar makes you feel hungry In a study by Yale University, those that consumed sugar had an INCREASED appetite and desire for more food. http://yaledailynews.com/blog/2013/01/15/overeating-linked-to-sugar-consumption/ So not only does sugar fill you with empty calories, it makes you want more of those calories. This process happens because sugar screws up hormonal levels in the body. Which leads to #8. Sugar blocks leptin and raises insulin to supernatural levels Leptin is a hormone in charge of telling us we’re full and need to stop eating. It also tells us we have energy and should go out and use that energy. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18703413 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15111494 Sugar consumption blocks this hormone from doing its job and from reaching the brain. http://nutritionandmetabolism.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/1743-7075-2-5 9. Sugar causes belly fat Numerous studies have shown direct links from sugar to increased accumulation of belly fat. Despite knowing all this, it’s hard to stop eating sugar because http://www.jci.org/articles/view/37385 http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19248858 #10. Sugar is addictive Similar to drugs like cocaine, scientists have now shown that sugar causes a very similar release of dopamine in the brain. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2235907 http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2851032/ Studies on neuroplasticity have shown that drug users have similar behavioral addictions to those addicted to sugar. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3139704/ Point black. Sugar is ADDICTING and comes without the immediate social repercussions of frequent drug use. That’s why it’s so hard to stop eating it. How much should you eat per day? None. There is not a reason to be eating this food in your diet, but only on the rare occasion as a treat. What about fruit? Fruit has fiber, vitamins, minerals, water, and tons of nutrients that refined sugar does not have. http://www.bmj.com/content/347/bmj.f5001 Sticking to whole sources like apples, oranges, and berries are a better idea. What should you do if you can’t stop eating sugar? I think this subject needs to be covered in greater detail, so either next week or sometime soon we will be making a video about breaking sugar addiction if that’s something you guys want.

How to Naturally Overcome Vitamin B12 Deficiency

07:33
For more on Vitamin B12 foods, you can check out my article: https://draxe.com/top-10-vitamin-b12-foods/ In this video, I’m going to talk about how to overcome Vitamin B12 deficiency and the health benefits of Vitamin B12. Surprisingly, about 40% of the population is deficient. Some of the big warning signs that you are Vitamin B12 deficient are if you struggle with low energy, fatigue, lack of focus, poor memory, poor cellular function, autoimmune disease, anemia, or thyroid condition. The biggest reason most people have Vitamin B12 deficiency is because they don’t have a healthy digestive system to digest this vitamin properly, also known as leaky gut. If you can’t absorb nutrients and vitamins properly, then you won’t be able to absorb the vitamins you need for optimal health. People who struggle with leaky gut or digestive issues, vegans or vegetarians, and people who don’t have enough probiotics in their diet all tend to have a Vitamin B12 deficiency. Some of the benefits of Vitamin B12 include red blood cell formation, which is vital to heart health, cellular function, and supporting the brain and nerve system. If you want to overcome Vitamin B12 deficiency, then you must follow these specific steps: 1. Consume more Vitamin B12-rich foods (liver, wild-caught fish, grass-fed lamb and beef, and raw dairy products) 2. Take a Probiotic (increases absorption) 3. Heal your gut (getting inflammatory foods out of your diet) 4. Supplementation (Vitamin B12, B complex, desiccated liver supplement) If you can follow these steps, you will notice improvements immediately and overcome your Vitamin B12 deficiency. *This content is strictly the opinion of Dr. Josh Axe, and is for informational and educational purposes only. What Will Happen If You Eat Nothing for 7 Days

10:52
How to Fast. What if you decided to quit eating for an entire week? Would it be dangerous for your body? Nowadays, many people prefer to stick to periodical water fasting, so they don't consume any food and drink apart from water. Water fasting should last for no more than a couple of days, and you should consult with a doctor beforehand. Among its benefits are lower blood pressure, improved insulin and leptin sensitivity, lower cholesterol levels, and weight loss. The first and most important thing is not to jump into a long session of water fasting right away. Your first experience with it should last for about 2 days. As you plan your 7-day water fasting, try to pick a low-stress time in your life. Doing this during exam season or when you're moving house isn't the best time. TIMESTAMPS What will happen to your body if you stop eating 0:58 What will happen after the first 6 hours 1:59 What will happen after 3 days 2:47 What will happen after a week 3:29 What will happen after a month or up to 70 days 3:46 What is water fasting 4:52 What is intermittent fasting 6:00 How to perform a water fast 7:31 What to do after you’re done with fasting 9:22 Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY -For the first 6 hours of your “no food” period, everything's going to be just fine. -After 6 hours, your body begins to starve since there's not enough glucose in your blood. -After 3 “no food” days, your brain goes to another extreme and starts to break down your body's protein. This happens because proteins release amino acids, which can be converted into the glucose your body so desperately needs. -After one “no food” week, your immune system becomes extremely weak because it isn’t receiving any vitamins or minerals. -Starvation may lead to death after almost a month or up to 70 days. -There's one rule when it comes to water fasting: you don't consume any food and drink apart from water. According to specialists, water fasting should last for no more than a couple of days, and a consultation with a doctor beforehand is obligatory. -If you want to water fast because of the weight loss factor, you have another option: intermittent fasting. This means eating nothing (or just a few calories) for a certain period of time and then eating as usual for another period. -The first and most important thing is not to jump into a long session of water fasting right away. Your first experience with it should last for about 2 days. Listen to your body carefully during your first water fasting. -When you're done with your fasting, you should break it slowly. Easily digested foods like soups, juices, pureed fruit, white rice, and mashed potatoes are the best products for your first 2 days. POTASSIUM: The MOST Important Electrolyte - MUST WATCH!

Your heart, your fluid, your energy, your nutrients in and out of the cell is dependent on the sodium and potassium pump. However, potassium is the most difficult to get from the diet. High levels of cortisol (stress), insulin, sugar, diuretics, excessive salt, surgery, all can deplete potassium. However, you need between 7-10 cups of salad or veggies to get your daily requirement of 4700mg. Hey guys, Dr. Berg here. I want to do a video on the most important electrolyte. Let me explain what an electrolyte is, if you ever take salt and put it in the water and dissolve it, the sodium and chloride disconnect and they become two separate minerals and that fluid is very electrically conductive. Basically electrolytes have to do with minerals that help conduct electricity in the body. They help with a lot of different things. As far as the electrolytes, it will be like potassium, sodium, magnesium, calcium, chlorides, and all those minerals. Potassium out of all the electrolytes is the one that we need in a very large quantities. Why is that? Why do we need potassium in a large amount? I am talking 4,700 mg to 6,000 mg every single day and that is equivalent to 7 to 10+ cups of salad or vegetables every single day. Let’s go dig further into exactly to why we need potassium. There are something in the body called sodium-potassium pump. It is built in a little protein connected to an enzyme, it forms a whole enzyme in the surface of your cells and you will have between 8,000 to 30million of this little tiny pumps and they are little generators that generate electricity to allow things to go through the cell so it take a lot of energy, in fact the energy of 1/3 of your diet goes to running those pumps. You also have another pump in the stomach called the hydrogen potassium ATPas, it is basically another pump that is built with a potassium that allows you to create stomach acid to help you digest. This pumps are also in the muscles, nervous systems and the pumps in the nervous system used about 60% of your body’s chloric intake of energy. In other words, these pumps are really critically important in exchanging nutrition, glucose, amino acids and other minerals to allow them to transport in other cell. Potassium is essential for building the pumps to allow these functions right here, they charge the cell electrically, so your cells have a certain voltage to allow things to work and go in and out of the cell to create different energy. In fact your energy that you have that controls your metabolism is controlled partly by these little pump. So it charges the cell electrically, it gives you energy. It helps the muscle contracts and relax because it allows calcium to go into the cell as well. It controls the transport of calcium. DR. Calcium is not what your BONES need the most- Markus Rothkranz

Calcium is not the reason for most peoples bone problems. They are lacking three other essential things that are much more important than calcium. In fact, most people have far too much calcium in their bodies which are literally turning to stone. Too much calcium is bad for you. What you really need is to have better absorption. Magnesium is the best way to facilitate calcium absorption. The conventional wisdom was that bone loss is due to calcium deficiency. "After 40 years, it has become clear that taking calcium alone does not stop or even slow bone loss and does not prevent osteoporosis." Silica is more important for bones than calcium https://www.hindawi.com/journals/ije/2013/316783/ Bamboo is one of the best sources for Silica http://link.springer.com/article/10.1023%2FA%3A1018557605910 http://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007%2F978-94-017-2923-9_9 Bamboo is a silicon accumulating plant. In leaves, the major place of silicon, Si, deposition is the epidermis, with the highest concentration of Si in silica cells. In bamboo roots, the deposition of Si is found only in endodermal cell walls. The silicification of leaves and roots was examined in the economically important bamboo plant Phyllostachys heterocycla, using an environmental scanning electron microscope coupled with X-ray microanalysis, as well as gravimetric quantification. The content of Si on a dry weight basis measured by gravimetric quantification was 7.6% in leaves and 2.4% in roots, respectively. Moreover, quantification of EDX data showed high Si impregnation of the inner tangential endodermal walls. Si content in this part of the root endodermal cell walls was even higher than that in the outer leaf epidermal walls, where conspicuous deposition of Si often occurs in grass plants.

L-Carnitine | How to Mobilize Fat & Enhance Brain Health - Thomas DeLauer

08:50
L-Carnitine is So Much More Than Just Fat Loss! I'm all about boosting the body, the brain, and business, and L-Carnitine does just that. Learn more about my thought process at http://www.ThomasDeLauer.com Acetyl-L-carnitine is an antioxidant and amino acid naturally produced in the body and is one of many forms of carnitine. Carnitines help shuttle fat to mitochondria to be burned to produce energy. They also help to shuttle the waste products away during the process. Different carnitines have different functions. Acetyl-L-carnitine is mainly used for brain health purposes as it is able to pass through the blood-brain barrier due to the acetyl group. Acetyl-l-carnitine is used for a wide variety of disorders regarding brain health: Alzheimer’s, depression, age-related memory loss, thinking problems due to Lyme Disease and alcoholism, Down syndrome, nerve pain, etc. It is also used in men for low testosterone and infertility. Acetyl-L-Carnitine vs L-Carnitine, and Fat Loss: The body can convert acetyl-L-carnitine to L-carnitine and visa / versa. Do not substitute one for the others. Benefits are based on the kind of carnitine that you take. L-Carnitine is primarily taken for fat loss as it helps to mobilize stored fat and move it to the mitochondria for use as energy. 95% of the carnitine in the body is found in skeletal muscles. By increasing muscle carnitine concentration you increase muscle fat oxidation, thus burning more stored fat rather than glucose. Until recently, studies did not support that increased dietary carnitine would lead to increased muscle carnitine concentration. A 2011 study in The Journal of Physiology found that after 6 months of L-carnitine feeding combined with carbohydrate consumption led to a 21% increase in muscle carnitine content. This study further showed that this increase had an effect of muscle metabolism during exercise. Following low intensity exercise it was found that less muscle glycogen was used. There was no measure of lipid oxidation, but it follows theoretic models that lipid metabolism would take the place of the glucose metabolism. The study also found an increased level of muscle lactate following high intensity exercise. What was very exciting was the finding of a performance enhancement: work output was increased by 11% during a 30 minute trial. Further studies are needed - complication with how long studies need to be held to see an impact of carnitine supplementation. How it Helps Brain Function: Mitochondria are the energy power plants of the body and brain, and their decay has been linked to many age related diseases. Supplementation may help mitochondria produce energy in tissues like the brain. One study fed rats acetyl-L-carnitine - reversed age-related declines in L-carnitine levels and also reversed some age-related changes in liver mitochondrial function. Another study found that the supplementation of acetyl-L-carnitine and alpha lipoic acid led to memory improvement, reduced oxidative stress and improved mitochondrial energy metabolism. It is also used to synthesise acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter in the brain. Acetylcholine has been shown to boost memory. Antioxidant and anti-Inflammatory agent properties: A 2010 study on alcohol induced oxidative damage in the brain found that acetyl-L-carnitine served as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent. Oxidative damage and inflammation in the brain are known to cause injury in the brain. Tips: Take acetyl-L-carnitine in the morning to promote healthy brain functioning.Pair with alpha lipoic acid, an antioxidant that is known to rid the brain of free radicals. References: 1. How to Lower Uric Acid Naturally

04:09
High levels of uric acid in the blood, also called hyperuricemia, can result from either increased production of uric acid in the body or decreased excretion of it through the kidneys. It can further lead to problems like gouty arthritis, kidney stones and renal failure. Factors that can contribute to a high uric acid level include a diet high in purines (purines are broken down into uric acid), excess alcohol consumption, renal insufficiency, obesity, underactive thyroid, genetics, diabetes, acidosis, and certain other diseases. There are some tips and natural remedies that can help reduce and control uric acid levels. 1. Apple Cider Vinegar Being a natural cleanser and detoxifier, apple cider vinegar can help remove wastes like uric acid from the body. It contains malic acid that helps break down and eliminate uric acid. Add one teaspoon of raw, organic, unpasteurized apple cider vinegar to a glass of water. Drink this solution two or three times a day. You can gradually increase the amount of apple cider vinegar up to two tablespoons per glass of water and continue this remedy until your uric acid levels come down. 2. Lemon Juice Though it may seem that lemon juice will make the body more acidic, in actuality, it produces an alkaline effect and helps neutralize uric acid. Plus, its vitamin C content also helps lower uric acid levels. Squeeze the juice of one lemon into a glass of warm water. Drink it in the morning on an empty stomach. Continue for at least a few weeks. 3. Cherries Cherries and dark berries contain chemicals that help reduce uric acid levels. Eat one-half cup of cherries daily for a few weeks. You can also drink one or two cups of tart cherry juice for about four weeks. For even better results, add blueberries, strawberries, tomatoes and bell peppers to your diet. 4. Baking Soda Baking soda, is highly beneficial for lowering uric acid levels and reducing gout pain. It helps maintain the natural alkaline balance in the body and makes the uric acid more soluble and easier to flush out of the kidneys. Mix one-half teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of water. Drink up to four glasses of this daily for two weeks. You can drink it every two to four hours. Do not take this remedy on a regular basis. Also, do not take this remedy if you suffer from high blood pressure. People age 60 or older should not drink more than 3 glasses per day. 5. Olive Oil Most vegetable oils turn into rancid fats when heated or processed. The rancid fats destroy the vital vitamin E in the body, which is essential for controlling uric acid levels. Opt for cold-pressed olive oil rather than using vegetable oil or butter. Olive oil contains monounsaturated fats, vitamin E and antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory benefits. 6. Water Drinking plenty of water helps optimize uric acid filtering. It helps dilute the uric acid and stimulates the kidneys to eliminate excess amounts from the body through urine. Drinking adequate water regularly can reduce the risk of recurrent gout attacks. Drink at least eight to 10 glasses of water throughout the day. Also, include more fluids and fresh, water-rich fruits like watermelons, strawberries and tomatoes, and vegetables like cucumber, lettuce and celery in your diet. 7 Food Combinations That Can Ruin Your Health

10:01
We got familiar with diet specialists’ recommendations and put together 7 food combinations you’d better avoid. These food combinations can affect your digestion system badly and even make you sick. 😱 TIMESTAMPS Sandwiches with coffee 1:14 Tomatoes with cucumbers 2:30 Potatoes with meat 3:34 Pasta with minced meat 4:41 Beer with nuts 5:38 Dairies with pineapple 7:06 Milk with banana 8:06 SUMMARY - Unfortunately, when you say hello to cheese sandwiches and coffee, you also say goodbye to all the healthy properties of cheese. The main reason is that the simple carbs in bread prevent calcium from being digested properly and bringing help to your nervous and cardiovascular systems. Moreover, if you add instant coffee, there will be no benefit to your health at all! - The latest research actually shows that combining these two vegetables can disturb the biochemical pathways of your body. This can lead to excessive calcination and swelling, and the vitamins contained in both vegetables won’t be digested properly. Above all, these products have different digestion time, which again, confuses the system. - Potatoes with meat: the starch contained in potatoes demands alkalotic digestive fluids, and the proteins from meat demand acidic ones. So, when put together, they just get stuck inside your stomach and can bring such disorders as heartburn, belching, gas, and many others. - Just like with potatoes and meat, the same reasoning applies to minced meat with pasta. The salivary glands produce ptyalin and amylase, which transform the starch carbs in pasta into simple sugars. - Salty products contain a lot of sodium, so your body increases the fluid loss, and you get thirsty. That increases the likelihood of having more and more pints of beer. On the other hand, beer, as the third most consumed drink in the world after water and tea, has a couple of bad effects on your system as well. - Pineapple and dairy don't really go well together. Sour fruits make your digestion work slower, especially in the morning. Besides, pineapple contains bromelain, an enzymic complex which can cause intoxication when combined with dairy products. - Combining bananas with milk, as a smoothie or milkshake may disturb your digestion process as well as your sleep pattern. Also, different flavors of these products confuse your digestion system and result in different kinds of imbalances. Drinking Apple Cider Vinegar Before Bedtime Will Change Your Life For Good

04:45
Although Apple Cider Vinegar has an overpowering acidic taste, you don’t have to drink it straight to benefit from its amazing properties. Some of those properties include raw enzymes and the promotion of good bacteria in the digestive tract. In order to avoid the taste, some people will substitute Apple Cider Vinegar for regular vinegar when pickling their favorite vegetables, or pair it with olive oil to make a salad dressing with a little kick. However, by simply diluting Apple Cider Vinegar or adding it to tea before bedtime you can significantly improve several areas of your health. Consider a few ways that ACV helps if you take it before bedtime: 1. Halitosis You know that awful taste in your mouth that you wake up with in the morning? It’s probably due to too much bacteria in your mouth. Drinking one tablespoon with eight ounces of water and a slice of lemon before bed, will keep that bacteria at bay and let you wake up more refreshed. 2. Lower Blood Sugar Some people have difficulties sleeping because of a peak in their blood sugar level at night. It’s one of the leading causes of insomnia, and it also impedes the body from burning fat. Apple Cider Vinegar lowers blood sugar levels because it increases insulin sensitivity. If you aren’t already on blood sugar medicine, try taking two teaspoons of Apple Cider Vinegar right before bed each evening and see if you don’t have a more restful night. If you are taking prescription medication for diabetes, please speak with your doctor before using this natural remedy. 3. Hiccups This nice trick overrides nerves in your throat that are responsible for hiccups. If these nerves have to deal with powerful taste in Apple Cider Vinegar, hiccups become less of an issue. For this, you’ll need to drink one undiluted teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar. 4. Sinus Relief If you’ve got a stopped up nose because it’s pollen season again, don’t forget about Apple Cider Vinegar. Rather than reaching for an over-the-counter decongestant, rely on the B vitamins to work with the potassium and magnesium in Apple Cider Vinegar, to loosen up your sinuses so you can breathe easier. 5. Drop Unwanted Pounds More and more people are incorporating Apple Cider Vinegar into their weight loss regimen. However, did you know that not getting a good night’s sleep is also associated with being overweight? Researchers now know that Apple Cider Vinegar inhibits the body when it tries to convert starches into calories. Not only that, but it also reduces your appetite. The pectin it contains actually makes you feel more satisfied, so when it’s time to go to bed and your hungry, sip a little Apple Cider Vinegar tea to feel satisfied and sleep better. 6. Reflux Remedy When your stomach is void of the necessary amount of acid, it tends to move around to do the job that the full amount would easily do. When that happens, some of the acid can sneak up the esophagus and burn your throat. Apple Cider Vinegar helps to replace that stomach acid and balance your intestinal tract. Try a tablespoon with a full glass of water about an hour before lying down. 7. Sore Throat Apple Cider Vinegar is a powerful anti-bacterial. Its acidity helps kill bacteria that live in the back of your throat. If you have a sore throat, in thirty minute intervals, take one teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar. About an hour before bed, drink one teaspoon. After thirty minutes, drink another. Finally, drink the third just before bed. 8. Restless Legs If you have restless legs or are often plagued with leg cramps in the middle of the night, it’s probably a sign that you’re not getting enough potassium in your diet. By adding two tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar to eight ounces of water, you can quickly boost your potassium levels and avoid these annoying issues. 9. Upset Stomach Sometimes a simple remedy like Apple Cider Vinegar can settle an upset stomach. Again, by helping restore the pH level in the digestive tract, you can rid yourself of excess gas and even stomach cramping. Try a warm cup of water with one teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar to calm an upset stomach.
