My Website/Blog: http://www.meejmuse.com A recent new article by Marie Claire regarding this contraceptive. http://au.lifestyle.yahoo.com/marie-claire/features/world/article/-/16839237/yasmin-pill-side-effects-the-dangers-of-yaz/ UPDATE (7/1/14) After 2 years of being off the pill, I still have much more irregular periods that I used to have before the pill, and still suffer from acne breakouts (though not as bad as the initial stage right after I stopped), however apart from this I feel my body has come back to normal. Please research contraceptives and the different kinds of pills before deciding which you are going to take, if you must! Love you guys. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Hi beautiful ones :) This is my longest video on Youtube! I was very sleepy so please forgive my lack of energy. Many of you requested me to share with you my personal experience with the pill in my last Winter Hits and Misses Video (http://youtu.be/cJ5_m0nRUM0). In no way is this medical advice. I'm just talking to you guys here like a friend or sister :) Please see a professional medical practitioner for a proper consultation for your decision of contraceptive method. I'd like to remind you that these things happened to me AFTER I stopped taking the pill - while I was on it I was perfectly fine. Also, in no way am I discounting that it could work for others. I still hope it helps those who were wondering about the pill, and help inform you of the possibilities before you make your own decision. xox Love Jen SOME OF MY RECENT VIDEOS♥ Sydney IMATS 2012 Haul & Vlog! http://youtu.be/GEg362QUvKU Outfit of the Day - Casual & Comfortable http://youtu.be/6brpx6qS5ew MORE OF ME!♥ Website & Blog: http://www.meejmuse.com Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/meejmuse Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/meejmuse Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/meejmuse Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/meejmuse

Watch more How to Pick a Birth Control Method videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/510842-How-to-Stop-Your-Period-with-Birth-Control-Birth-Control Learn how to stop your period with birth control in this Howcast video. You call your doctor and you say, "Doc, I'm going on vacation with my boyfriend. How do I prevent my period from coming? I'm in that phase of my cycle where if I take my placebo pills, I'm going to get my period." Well, this is one of my favorite questions to answer because it gives the patient the power of deciding when or when not to have her period. And when you're on birth control pills, you have that option. When you're taking a conventional birth control pill, one that has 21 days of hormones and 1 week without hormones, what you can do is take the pills continuously. What that means is that you take 21 active pills, and instead of taking the week of placebo pills, throw the pill pack away and start a new pack of pills. When you do that, you can skip your periods and not cause any harm to your body. It does not affect the contraceptive effectiveness of the pills, and it does absolutely no harm to your body. If you are considering skipping your periods with the birth control pills and you are uncertain of how to do it, call your doctor or your nurse practitioner. We are happy to provide that information for you to make your life easier, and there is nothing wrong with making your life easier when you're on birth control pills.

10 Side Effects of Birth Control Pills that Your Doctor May Not Tell You Birth control pills, commonly referred to as “the pill,” are considered one of the safest methods to prevent unintended pregnancy. They are a highly effective contraceptive when taken correctly (at the same time daily). According to a 2012 National Health Statistics Reports, 62 percent of women of reproductive age were using contraception between 2006 and 2010. There are two types of contraceptive pills, both of which consist of synthetic forms of hormones produced naturally in the body. The pills either contain progestin alone or estrogen and progestin together. These hormones regulate a woman’s menstrual cycle, and their fluctuating levels play an essential role in fertility. Apart from preventing pregnancy, there are many pros of using birth control pills, including reduced menstrual cramping, regularity of menstrual cycle, acne-free skin, and lower risk of ovarian cysts as well as ovarian and endometrial cancer. However, birth control pills can have many side effects, which doctors may not tell you. Before starting on a pill, it is important to understand both the pros as well as the cons.

To pill or not to pill? That is the question. Hormonal Birth Control Pills Hormonal or chemical birth control pills will be explained in this video, with the pros and cons of each type. But before I demonstrate the different types, I would like to explain to you how hormonal birth control pills work. When a lady is pregnant, ovulation (or egg release) does not occur. That’s how our body’s system normally works. The hormones in a woman’s body are balanced in a certain way that makes the hormones that stimulate the release of the eggs – called the ovulation hormones – to become inactive during pregnancy. So we thought: If we give the woman pregnancy hormones in pills, we will be able to inhibit ovulation, in other words: to stop it from happening, which, in turn, would prevent the pregnancy to occur. So the scientists decided to put the pregnancy hormone and the female hormone in a pill. This gives us an idea about the first type of birth control pills. This type consists of synthet-ic forms of hormones – the pregnancy hormone progesterone (called progestin) and the female hormone oestrogen. On the other hand there’s another type of birth control pills that consists of the pregnancy hormone only, and in a very small amount. It is called the mini Pill or the Progesterone-Only Pill (P.O.P.). The pills I will talk about are not the only hormonal birth control methods. We can take other forms of chemical or birth control at the doctor’s office, which would have the same mechanism of action. So, back to the pills. Let me explain them now. Let’s start with a combined pill. “Combined” because it has a combination of hormones. Let’s know more about it. The combined pill consists of progestin – a synthetic progester-one (the pregnancy hormone) – and oestrogen (the female hormone). You will need to take a pill daily for 21 days, starting from the 7th day of your menstruation. Even if you’re still bleeding, you must start using the pill. Take a pill daily for 21 days and stop the pill for 7 days, taking into consideration that your period cycle is 28 days. The combined pill is a good birth control choice in cases of: • You don’t mind to take hormones for birth control • You usually suffer from pains [I’m not sure about what comes here → 2:40] during menstruating, since it will ease the dysmenorrhea. • If your period is not regular, this will regulate it. • You bleed heavily during the period: it will decrease the amount of bleeding, which in turn might prevent you from becoming anaemic. • If you have acne: this might improve your skin condition. • You’re not a smoker The combined pills are not good if you … don’t wish to take any hormones … are Breastfeeding … are a heart patient … have hypertension or high blood pressure … have risk of thrombosis or atherosclerosis … have had diabetes for more than 20 years … have a liver or gall bladder disease … have a history of breast cancer in the past 5 years … are suffering from recurrent migraines or have the symptoms that proceed mi-graine, called the aura … are overweight … have been taking medications such as antibiotics, epilepsy medications or anti-depressants All these may weaken the effect of the combined pill. Always read the patient in-formation leaflets. This birth control method is 99% effective, on condition that the pill is taken on the same time every day. The other type is the mini Pill or the pill that... Watch more How to Pick a Birth Control Method videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/510836-What-Is-Yasmin-Birth-Control Learn what Yasmin is in this Howcast video about birth control. Yasmin is a form of birth control pill that has estrogen and drospirenone. Now, the regular birth control pills that you're familiar with have estrogen and a form of progesterone. So instead of having progesterone or a form of progesterone in the Yasmin, the drug is called drospirenone, which is different than the progesterone but acts similar to progesterone in helping prevent pregnancy. So if you're considering Yasmin for your form of birth control over that of the birth control pills you're taking currently or to start as your first type of birth control, you may want to talk to your doctor or nurse practitioner about the difference between Yasmin and the birth control pills that you're familiar with. Yas and Yasmin are highly effective forms of birth control. They both contain estrogen and drospirenone, but in different balances between the estrogen and drospirenone. There's a difference in the number of placebo or sugar pills between Yas and Yasmin. If you're considering those options as your new form of birth control, you should call your doctor or nurse practitioner to discuss the difference between the Yas and Yasmin, and also to discuss the difference between those two forms of birth control versus the other estrogen and progesterone pills you may be familiar with.

Watch more How to Pick a Birth Control Method videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/510809-How-Does-The-Pill-Work-Birth-Control Learn how The Pill works in this Howcast video about birth control. Birth control pills are probably one of the most well-known forms of birth control that we prescribe in the office. It is a highly effective form of birth control, but it requires motivation on the part of the user to take the pills correctly. Birth control pills come in a pack. It can be a round pack or a square pack, and it usually comes with about 28 pills. Depending on the formula, some of the pills are active and some of the pills are not active. You'll need to review that with your doctor to make sure that you are taking the pills correctly. You take one pill every day, at the same time every day. Towards the end of the pack, you may have what's called placebo pills or fake pills. Those placebo or fake pills will be the interval that you'll have your period. Again, there are many different formulations of the birth control pills. Depending on where the placebo pills are, you will notice that you will get your period around that time. You may notice that your pill pack only has 3 weeks worth of pills or 21 pills. If that's the case, it may be that instead of having placebo pills or sugar pills or fake pills, depending on who you speak to, you may not take any pills at all for one week. That leaves a lot of responsibility on you as the user to know exactly when you stop the hormone pills and when you start the new pack of pills. This may be a little tricky, but once you get used to using the pills on a regular basis, this will no longer be an issue. If you have any questions about the way your pills are formulated, if you're concerned about where your fake pills are, whether you have enough hormone pills in your pack, or whether or not you have placebo pills, bring your pills with you to an appointment with your practitioner or your doctor, and they will help you figure out how to take the birth control pills correctly.

Oral contraceptive pills have to be taken regularly. There is no question of missing a pill. Irregular or regular missing of pills can land up in a pregnancy and continuing the pills on a pregnancy is not advised. So missing of pills is not a question. So once a girl is started on oral contraceptive pills, the awareness should be given that there is no question of missing the pill. So if the girl misses one pill, then take it as soon as you remember and continue the pack as required. But if the patient has missed 2 pills, then the first pill is the thrown away, not taken and the second pill is taken as soon as the patient remembers. But the packet has to be continued as usual. You do not stop the packet as you require the packet for the pill free period. Since the patient has missed 2 pills, then the patient is advised to take barrier contraceptive along with the oral contraceptive pills. So if 2 pills are missed, the first pill is thrown away. The second pill is taken as soon as she remembers. The packet is continued as such, the next 7 days, the barrier contraceptive along with the Oral contraceptive pills is continued. Third thing, if there is a pregnancy, contraceptive is not advised and it is not to be taken.

Birth control pills have got abortion potential. It can cause miscarriage in the early pregnancy. That is even before the embryo gets implanted. This is not because it has got adverse effect on the embryo. This is because it has affected the uterine lining where the baby goes and implants. So because of that early miscarriages can happen. Also whenever a baby gets pregnant with birth control pills we should be cautious about ectopic pregnancy because of changes which take place in the fallopian tubes. But when the pregnancy successfully happens it goes to the extent of four months of pregnancy, abortion cannot happen because the birth control pills do not have any adverse effect on the foetal development.

Hi everyone - So I finally got my hands on Yasmin birth control pills for good or lets hope for good. I do have a hormonal dis-balance which I need to take care of and my gynecologists prescribed these to me. I want to mention that my problem is a light form of hersoitism and ovarian cysts that are considered hormonal dis balance. Now I am very sensitive to the male hormone in my body and I need to create more female hormones so that I can stop gaining weight or getting unwanted hair on places women shouldn't get. I wanted to start the course earlier but I was prescribed Diane 35 a different birth control pill that was not good for me. It made my lymph nodes swallen and very painfull an dmy menstrual cycle went really bad. So I wanted something lighter especially when I have lost my mom of breast cancer. I am still consernd about that though but I have no other choice than taking hormone pills. So If you have any diea what are the side effects, if you took them on a long run please share with me here your impression. That will not only help me but a lot of young women that are just starting to take Yasmin for first time. Thank you for the comments and have a blessed May - Natalie p.s. You have some questions about oral contraceptives, and exactly how they work, and how things work with the sugar pills that are at the end of a 28-day pack. Oral contraceptives are very effective at preventing pregnancy when taken as prescribed. When taken as prescribed, the chance of getting pregnant is less than 1%. However, a lot of women miss pills or don't start pills when they should, and so they end up getting pregnant 8% of the time. The pills that you take in your pack contain hormone that help to suppress ovulation, and they're given at specific times in your cycle to prevent ovulation. So it's important to start on the first day that you're supposed to start, and then at the end of a 28-day pack, the last 7 pills are sugar pills, but a lot of people like to have those available, because it just makes it so you're used to taking a pill every day and you don't forget to start on day 1 of your next cycle. Basically, you're able to get pregnant (or you're fertile) for 6 days out of each month - 5 days leading up to ovulation and on the day of ovulation. And ovulation typically happens about mid-cycle, and so of a 28-day cycle, you'd probably ovulate on day 14 and be able to get pregnant for 5 days leading up to that day, because sperm can actually live inside a woman's reproductive tract for 3 to 5 days. So you could potentially have unprotected intercourse on day 9 and actually get pregnant if you ovulate on day 14. It's possible, but the chance is low - about 5%. The chance of getting pregnant increases when you have intercourse closer to ovulation. The chance is actually greatest on the day before ovulation at about 30% to 35%. But of course, this all only applies if you're not taking contraceptive pills, using any other forms of contraception, or if you're not taking it as prescribed. Then you might ovulate, and pregnancy is possible. To specifically answer your question, you're not going to get pregnant when you're on your period, because you're not ovulating and that will never fall during your fertile window. So I hope that this has all clarified it for you. If you have more specific questions, call your doctor, and based on their knowledge of your situation, they'll be able to give you the best advice. And if you have more questions for me in the future, feel free to ask them on our Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/IntermountainMoms, and recommend us to your friends and family too.

Birth control pills are an effective form of contraception. They usually come in a round pack or a rectangular pack, and it's up to you, the user, to make sure that you take the pills on a consistent basis in order for them to be effective. Unfortunately, all forms of birth control have side effects, and most of these side effects will improve if you continue to take the pill over a period of time. You may experience some headaches, some nausea, and some breakthrough bleeding when you're using this form of birth control. If you experience any side effects regarding blood clot formation, such as chest pain, leg swelling, leg pain, headaches that don't go away with Tylenol, any visual disturbances, although these side effects are extremely rare, they do happen to some patients. You should stop the birth control when you experience those side effects and call your doctor. Let me reiterate. Those side effects are extremely rare, and while the headaches and the breakthrough bleeding and the nausea are annoying, they will usually get better if you continue to take the pills consistently over two or three packs of birth control.

Many women want to know how fast they're going to get pregnant after they stop taking oral contraceptive pills. You can actually ovulate the next month after you've stopped taking the pills. Most women are pregnant within about 3 months. All women are usually pregnant by 12 months after they've stopped taking the pills. You mentioned specifically that you've been on birth control, a lot of different types. Your body's trying to get regulated by using these birth control pills and it would be best to keep in close contact with your doctor because it sounds like what they're trying to do is increase your chances of getting pregnant. But in order to do that, you need to have your cycles better regulated. Keep in close contact with them if you have more questions and good luck with everything. If you do have more questions for me in the future though, feel free to ask them on our Facebook page at facebook.com/intermountainmoms and recommend us to your friends and family, too.

Birth Control and Hair Loss http://www.hair-loss-treatments.com.au/ http://www.brisbanehairloss.com.au/ http://www.hair-loss-sydney.com.au/ email@example.com When it comes to hair, it is all about body balance. Medical form of birth control is changing a natural body function, and in certain females, can cause a disruption which effects the hair cycle and triggers diffuse hair loss. The time frame is three months after the birth control was introduced, the normally growing hair are shocked into a premature shedding phase, along with normal daily shedding hairs. The result is diffuse hair loss, it is not permanent, and should stop after 3 months. The formula is; hair loss may start 3 months after starting or stopping birth control, will continue for 3 months, may lose up to 300 hairs a day, hair loss should stop after 3 months, hair will lose volume and feel thinner, hair should return back to normal hair cycle and natural hair density within 12 months. Birth Control and Hair Loss: • Hair Loss can occur 3 months after starting or stopping birth control • Hair Loss will continue for 3 months • This is not permanent hair loss • Is diffuse hair loss, it is all over the scalp not in patterns or patches • Hair loss should stop after 3 months • Hair cycle and normal hair growth should return within 12 months It is important not to be reactive when this happens and stop the birth control because of the hair loss as this can trigger another round or diffuse hair loss. One should also understand it was the introduction or retraction of the birth control that triggered the body change, not the birth control directly that caused the hair loss. The same rule applies for all prescription medication and does not affect every individual. Also to be noted, birth control is exactly that, birth control and should not be used for any other reason. Using birth control to address hair loss will result in quite the opposite effect and should not be used to control acne, as this is a skin or hormonal problem. The health of the individual will determine the extent of the effect when it comes to hair loss and in turn, hair regrowth. Most cases of diffuse hair loss from starting or stopping birth control have other associated elements, such as stress and low iron. If the body is battling other problems at the same time, it can affect the hair regrowth. As Absolique Hair Health Clinic Trichologist, I can guide you through starting and stopping birth control by planning ahead, checking the state of the hair cycle, growing healthy hair, checking and supporting health and making sure you don’t make abrupt changes with birth control. It also has to be considered that birth control may be medically recommend to treat other health concerns and working together with your doctor, healthcare provider and Trichologist is important. You mentioned that for the better part of your life, you've had irregular periods and you're trying to have a baby so of course you're frustrated because this makes it very difficult to know when you're ovulating or if you're ovulating at all so that you can time intercourse with ovulation and conceive and achieve your dreams of having a baby. It sounds like you sought help from a doctor and that's good. That's always the first step because they can ask you questions about your history, perform an exam, and then decide what treatment is most appropriate for your situation. You brought up thoughts about birth control pills and how they do regulate you while on the pill but then you're wondering if when you stop taking them you stop being regular. Sometimes birth control pills are prescribed to women who are irregular because it does regulate their cycles long enough, at least for a couple of months, for a woman to try to get pregnant once she's gone off the pill. On average, it takes most couples about six months to get pregnant. You can actually get pregnant any time after you've stopped taking the pill if you're ovulating and you time intercourse just right with ovulation. As soon as you stop taking the pill, it doesn't take months and months for your body to return to normal cycles. In fact, like you were mentioning, it can regulate you at least for a couple of months and your cycles might start to spread out and become longer and longer and become more irregular again but there might be a window of opportunity where you could get pregnant if the stars align and everything comes together just right. Talk with your doctor again and based on their knowledge of your situation, they can recommend other treatments that might be more appropriate for you or if you want a second opinion from another doctor, that's okay to do, too, if desired. Good luck with everything and if you have any other questions for me in the future, feel free to ask them on our Facebook page at facebook.com/intermountainmoms and recommend us to your friends and family, too.
