ABSCESSED TOOTH, SWOLLEN CHEEK, AND HIGH FEVER

00:58
An abscessed tooth is a painful infection at the root of a tooth or between the gum and a tooth. It's most commonly caused by severe tooth decay. Other causes of tooth abscess are trauma to the tooth, such as when it is broken or chipped, and gingivitis or gum disease. My son had a cavity, so his cheek got really swollen. He also had a really high fever, which means his body was fighting an infection. He was seen by his dentist, and two different doctors. He took Tylenol and Ibuprofen for pain, and antibiotic every 12 hours. As the swelling went down alittle, his dentist removed his tooth. He feels fine now and looks forward to his dentist appointments, so the same thing does not happen again. What You Can Do?? Abscesses are always serious because the infection may spread to other parts of the body. Call your dentist for an appointment. If you can see or feel a pimple-like swelling on your gum, rinse your mouth several times a day with a mild salt-water solution. Use 1/2 teaspoon of salt in 8 ounces of water. This may help draw the pus out and relieve pressure. Even if the rinse seems to help, you still need to see your dentist as soon as possible. What Your Dentist Will Do Most gum abscesses will heal quickly after three things happen: The area is cleaned thoroughly. The trapped pus is allowed to escape. The infection is treated. If a fistula has formed, your dentist will trace it back to the source of the infection. Your dentist will insert a flexible, thin piece of material into the fistula. This will appear on an X-ray and show the dentist where the fistula leads. Once your dentist cleans out the infection, the fistula usually will close on its own. If the infection started inside a tooth, your dentist will make a small hole in the tooth. This allows the abscess to drain. The tooth will need root canal treatment, followed by a filling or a crown. If an abscess is very large or the tooth is badly damaged, you may need to have the tooth removed. A large abscess often will need to be drained. The dentist makes a hole in the gum through the bone that provides an exit path for any fluid or pus. This will reduce the risk of further spread of the infection. People with severe periodontal disease may have abscesses. Draining them helps the immediate problem. However, the periodontal disease needs to be treated to prevent another infection. Your dentist may give you a prescription for antibiotics and painkillers. These drugs will help the abscess heal and keep the infection from spreading. Love and Light to all! Thanks for watching! PLEASE SUBSCRIBE TO OUR CHANNEL! !!

For most babies, teething typically starts between 6 and 12 months. And, babies have their set of primary teeth by the age of three. As a parent, it’s natural to be concerned about the teething process and the resulting pain your baby might have. If you are concerned about the teething process, then this video is for you. Watch the video till the end. What Are The Signs Of Teething: Red and swollen gums, which are bruised and sore. Excessive drooling as the baby keeps every object in their mouth. Rubbing of the ear. Excessive biting and chewing due to the pressure of the eruption of teeth through the gums. Lack of interest in food or eating. There can be mild rashes around the mouth. Sometimes teething is accompanied by mild fever. Remedies To Soothe Your Baby’s Teething Pain: Give your child clean, wet, cool washcloth to chew on. You can give your child frozen teething rings, as the texture massages the gums and the chillness numbs the pain. If your baby is on solids, give mesh teethers with frozen foods inside. You can gently massage your baby’s gums with a clean finger or cold teething ring. Give acetaminophen or ibuprofen for infants above six months of age to reduce the pain. However, do it only if your doctor prescribes the medicine. Give your baby a new toy, and spend more quality time with them. Do anything that could distract their mind from the pain. **************************************************************** DISCLAIMER: The information in this video are provided for general and educational purposes only and do not constitute any legal, medical or other professional advice on any subject matter. Home Remedies for Toothache Relief

03:50
For more info: https://draxe.com/home-remedies-for-toothache/?utm_campaign=Youtube-Jan-2015&utm_medium=social&utm_source=youtube&utm_term=toothache Today I’m going to talk to you about home remedies for toothaches. Toothaches can be painful whether you have a sore tooth or your baby is teething. I have three top home remedies for overcoming toothaches fast. The first thing that is vital to alleviating your toothache is essential oils. The best essential oil you can use, according to medical literature, is clove oil because it has the highest amount of antioxidants in the entire world. For a teething baby, you may want to take equal amounts of clove oil and coconut oil and rub it on the gum area. Secondly, sea salt is a great natural remedy for toothaches. If you take some sea salt and gargle it with water, making sure it swooshes around the painful area, it can help heal with it’s natural antibacterial properties. Lastly, peppermint oil has menthol in it, which can help numb that painful area of your mouth. Reducing or eliminating excess sugar from your diet can also be effective when overcoming your toothache. If you really want to get rid of your toothache, I would recommend swooshing sea salt in your mouth, then rub a clove and peppermint oil mixture on the tooth. *This content is strictly the opinion of Dr. Josh Axe, and is for informational and educational purposes only. How to Heal Faster After Having a Tooth Removed

02:55
So you just had a tooth removed. The dentist probably rattled off a list of directions for you to follow but was talking way to fast and may have confused you with all the information thrown at you after an anxiety producing experience. I try to avoid the information overload with my patients but it's not always successful. Today's video goes into detail about what to do after having a tooth pulled so you can listen again in the comfort of your own home if you are confused. I've also posted the printed directions we give to our patients summarizing the most important things to do to promote faster healing.  Apply pressure with gauze to stop the bleeding After tooth extraction, it’s important for a blood clot to form to stop the bleeding and begin the healing process. That’s why we ask you to bite on a gauze pad for 30-45 minutes after the appointment. If the bleeding or oozing still persists, place another gauze pad and bite firmly for another 30 minutes. You may have to do this several times. If you run out of gauze, you may take a tea bag of any kind and firmly bite down on it for 30 minutes. Pink or blood-tinged saliva may be seen for 2-3 days following the surgery and does not indicate a problem. Minimize swelling to minimize discomfort Swelling is the body’s normal reaction to surgery and healing. An ice pack or an unopened bag of frozen peas or corn applied to the area will keep swelling to a minimum. Apply the ice to the outside of the face, 20 minutes on and then 20 minutes off, while awake for the first 24 hours. After the first 24 hours, stop using ice and use a warm moist heat compresses to relieve swelling and aid in muscle discomfort. The swelling will begin to decrease after the third day. Pain medication Unfortunately, it is normal to experience mild to moderate pain after a tooth extraction. Try to take some pain medication before the numbness wears off. Ibuprofen (Advil) or naproxen (Aleve), are both good over the counter medications to take that will also help to minimize swelling. Dr. Kamodia recommends 600mg of ibuprofen (3 tablets) every 6 hours for the first 3 days. If that is not providing enough pain relief, alternating the ibuprofen with extra strength Tylenol (500mg) will help. How to promote faster healing After the blood clot forms, it is important not to disturb or dislodge the clot as it aids healing. Do NOT smoke, suck on straws, or rinse vigorously for one week. These activities will dislodge or dissolve the clot and retard the healing process. Limit vigorous exercise for the next 24-48 hours as this will increase blood pressure and may cause more bleeding from the extraction site. Diet Your first day will consist of soft, cool foods such as: yogurt, applesauce, mashed potatoes, cottage cheese, and ice cream. Soup is a great option as long as it is room temperature. Avoid foods like nuts, sunflower seeds, popcorn, chips etc., which may get lodged in the socket. Focus on drinking lots of fluids and eating soft, nutritious foods. Long term healing The best way to prevent infection and ensure healing is to keep your mouth clean. Clean your mouth thoroughly after each meal beginning the day after surgery by rinsing GENTLY with warm salt water. Use a soft bristle toothbrush and toothpaste every morning and night to keep your teeth and the extraction site clean. This will speed healing and help keep your mouth fresh. After a few days you should feel fine and can resume your normal activities. If you have heavy bleeding, severe pain, or swelling that is not decreasing after 3 days please call our office immediately—(607)-785-1900.

How to Relieve Tooth Pain When Pregnant

02:21
Make sure you only use safe methods to relieve toothaches to protect both you and your baby's health while dealing with tooth pain. Step 1 Take acetaminophen according to package directions. While the American Pregnancy Association warns against taking ibuprofen or aspirin while pregnant, acetaminophen is safe to take as long as you heed proper dosing instructions when experiencing pain. It can help relieve pain on a short-term basis until you're able to see a dentist or talk to your obstetrician. Step 2 Chew on a whole clove, suggests TheLaborofLove.com. The clove oil that secretes from the clove can be worked into the sore tooth as a natural and safe way to relieve tooth pain when pregnant. Clove oil can be purchased in drugstores, but it can cause nerve damage when used in large amounts, so it's safer to chew one or two cloves at a time. You should notice a difference within a half hour of chewing cloves. Step 3 Gargle with warm water, which can temporarily and safely relieve mild pain. Step 4 Apply a topical antiseptic containing benzocaine to the affected tooth with a cotton swab, suggests MayoClinic.com. It's the same formula used on teething babies and is safe while pregnant. Look for a gel formula in the baby supply section of the drug store. Step 5 Schedule an appointment with your dentist if the pain doesn't subside within a day or two. While pain management techniques may be effective, you'll need to receive care if you have an abscessed tooth, cavity or other dental problem. Tell your dentist that you're expecting, and she'll make adjustments in the X-ray room and while working on your tooth so only safe products are used.

Beat Toothache Pain With These 5 Simple Home Remedies

04:01
Susana Home Remedies Beat Toothache Pain With These 5 Simple Home Remedies A toothache is a pain near your teeth. Sometimes the cause is dental, like cavities or gum disease. In other cases, the pain might be referred to the teeth but may stem from a non-dental cause. Either way, toothache pain is very uncomfortable, especially for children. If you or your child have a toothache, it’s time to make an appointment with your dentist as soon as possible. In the meantime, however, you’ll need to control the pain and discomfort. Here are some of your best options for controlling toothache pain. What Actually Causes a Toothache? Toothaches have several differential diagnoses, some of which are problems with the teeth and gums, and others which are referred as pain from non-dental causes. Some of the most common underlying causes of tooth pain include: Inflammation of the pulp, the dental tissue beneath the enamel, due to ongoing tooth decay. Dentin hypersensitivity, which occurs when the enamel has eroded to expose the dentin beneath it. Apical periodontitis, an inflammation of the periodontal ligament and alveolar bone. Dental abscesses, collections of pus that can lead to sepsis if left untreated. Alveolar osteitis, or “dry socket,” after tooth extraction. Temporomandibular disorder. Migraines. Myofascial pain. Angina pectoris, which refers pain to the lower jaw. These are just a few of the most common causes of toothaches. Your dentist will be able to accurately diagnose the issue. If it turns out it’s not your teeth or gums, you may need to see a different medical specialist depending on the cause of your pain. Home Remedies for Toothache Pain When you have a toothache, you may need to find ways to control the pain so that you can continue with everyday life until your upcoming dental appointment. Here are some of the best remedies for tooth pain. They cannot treat the underlying problem, but they can reduce the amount of discomfort that you experience. Tylenol, NSAIDs, or other OTC medications. Anti-inflammatories can come in handy for tooth pain. Taking an NSAID like ibuprofen or naproxen, or taking acetaminophen (Tylenol), can help reduce the pain. Saltwater. Many people report that toothache pain subsides if they swish saltwater around in their mouths. Salt has a long history of use as an anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial treatment. When you swish saltwater in your mouth, it lowers the pH temporarily, creating an alkaline environment that can kill bacteria. Unlike Listerine and other mouthwashes, it won’t irritate your mucous membranes. Hydrogen peroxide. Like saltwater, hydrogen peroxide can be used as a mouth rinse. It helps kill bacteria and cleans your gums, and may also help reduce toothache pain. Household spices and other kitchen ingredients. Many common kitchen ingredients purportedly reduce pain, although it’s not always clear what’s an old wives’ tale and what actually works. Vanilla and other flavor extracts can be dabbed on the affected area. They’re generally alcohol-based and can have a numbing effect. Garlic may also be helpful, as it has antimicrobial effects. This is also true of other Allium species, like red or white onions and leeks. Some people also like peppermint tea. The warmth can soothe a toothache, and the plant has mild anti-inflammatory properties that may be of modest benefit. https://youtu.be/zFVvX1OFb4o

I call this the 3-3-3 method for getting out of tooth pain fast, until you can see your dentist to do something about the toothache. Be sure to discuss with your doctor or dentist before you take ibuprofen (the generic name for Advil) and remember that tooth pain almost never goes away on its own -- if you're in pain, you'll have to see a dentist.

Wisdom Teeth Pain Relief /\ Home remedies for Wisdom Teeth Pain

Do you want wisdom teeth pain relief? When the wisdom teeth come in, they erupt through the gums, which can be painful in certain situations. You can also experience wisdom tooth pain if they grow in sideways or crooked, if they grow in too far to the side to cause them to push other teeth, or if your teeth are in any other way misaligned. There are multiple ways to stop pain caused by wisdom teeth. Subscribe my channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjPGXgOH-anpsvLMiw8NYdA Google+ https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/118041852373056007310/118041852373056007310 Facebook: https://web.facebook.com/Health-Tips-Page-1724798314435434/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/?lang=en Other videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HW0r0QGSvk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMuesRzj22M https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKNqwbfxzyc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KySzN3unQU 1. Use an ice pack for wisdom teeth pain relief. If you are experiencing pain, try holding an ice cube or some crushed ice on the tooth. This will only work if the tooth is not sensitive to cold. You can also wrap the ice in a cloth or latex casing, such as a small balloon or finger of a latex glove, and place that on your tooth instead. 2. Treat with salt water. Salt is a great substance to help heal skin. To make a gargle, stir ½ teaspoon of sea salt into four ounces of warm water until it dissolves. Pour part of the mixture into your mouth without swallowing. Move the solution in your mouth over to where the painful tooth is. Hold it in your mouth for 30 to 60 seconds. Don't swish forcefully. 3. Use a soft toothbrush. When you are suffering from tooth pain, brushing your teeth may hurt; however, you should always brush your teeth twice a day. If you are experiencing issues with pain, get a soft toothbrush. This will be gentler on your gums. 4. Massage your gums for wisdom teeth pain relief. If your teeth are coming through, your gums may hurt. To help your teeth along, try massaging the gums around where the teeth are breaking through. This will help alleviate the pain and ease the teeth through your gums. 5. Use apple cider vinegar. Mix ¼ cup of warm water and apple cider vinegar. Hold the solution in your mouth over the painful tooth for 30 to 60 seconds. Spit it out and repeat two to three times. Rinse with warm water. You can do this three to four times a day, but do not swallow the water-vinegar mixture. 6. Try fresh salves. There are some fresh ingredients that you use to help with tooth pain. Cut a small piece of garlic, onion, or ginger. Place it in your mouth, directly over your painful tooth. Once it is there, gently bite down on the piece to release the juice. The juice will help numb and calm your gums. 7. Use essential oils for wisdom teeth pain relief. Essential oils can help with your tooth pain. Use these on your fingers, then massage them into your gums with your fingers. You can also make a mouth rinse with a few drops of essential oils and a few ounces of water. Never swallow essential oils. 8. Treat pain with a teabag. Tea has properties that can help with your pain. To make a tea compress, soak an herbal tea bag in warm water. Once the tea is steeped, put the tea bag over the tooth. Keep it in place for five minutes. Repeat this process two to three times a day while you're in pain. 9. Try over-the-counter pain medication. When you tooth aches, you can take over-the-counter pain medication to help. These medications include aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil), acetaminophen (Tylenol), and naproxen (Aleve). As earlier as 17 weeks in uterus, you can see your baby putting their thumb in their mouth sometimes. This does not mean that your baby is going to erupt teeth the next day. Most babies get their teeth any time between four months and twelve months, so there's a wide range. It's really based individually, every baby is different. You usually see the gums getting swollen, and you see some white under the gums. You can actually see the teeth where they're coming in. So if you see that the baby's gums are swollen, or you see white at the edge of the rim of the gums, then you might know that your baby's tooth is going to erupt soon. But most three and four month olds don't have teeth. I would say the majority of babies get teeth around 6 months. Personally, my kids did not get their teeth until 12 months. So we had a lot of drooling going on for many, many months, but that's not a problem. If you have late teeth, that's also not a problem. There's a wide range of normal. So, right now, we do not recommend using any of the over-the-counter products, like numbing agents, because many children have been overdosed with numbing agents. The parents put too much numbing agent on the gums and it actually can numb their gag reflex. So we really recommend a cold teething ring, I'm a big fan of the old fashioned wetting a washcloth, freezing it in the freezer, and then giving it to the baby to bite on. They love that feeling, they suck the water out of it, and they love that feeling of the cold, crunchy washcloth on their gums. You can also massage your baby's gums with your finger. After 6 months, if a baby is erupting a tooth and really teething terribly, you can give some infant ibuprofen, because that has anti-inflammatory properties, and it will help the baby with the pain in the teeth. You can also use acetaminophen. You can massage your baby's gums to help with the pain a bit, and in addition, a lot of parents like to use herbal remedies that are sold over the counter. Just be sure to check with your doctor about any herbal remedy that you will use with your child. Herbal medicines are not checked by the Food and Drug Administration, they are only inspected by the U.S. Department of Treasury. So, I would bring any herbal medicine to your pediatrician, and check to see if it has been inspected by any regulatory board, and that the ingredients are safe for your child.

Toothache

02:26
Toothache Introduction Toothache refers to pain in and around the teeth and jaws that's usually caused by tooth decay. You may feel toothache in many ways. It can come and go or be constant. Eating or drinking can make the pain worse, particularly if the food or drink is hot or cold. The pain can also be mild or severe. It may feel "sharp" and start suddenly. It can be worse at night, particularly when you're lying down. A lost filling or broken tooth can sometimes start the pain. It can also sometimes be difficult to decide whether the pain is in your upper or lower teeth. When a lower molar tooth is affected, the pain can often feel like it's coming from the ear. Toothache in other upper teeth may feel like it's coming from the sinuses, the small, air-filled cavities behind your cheekbones and forehead. The area of your jaw close to the infected tooth may also be sore and tender to touch. It's also possible for periodontal disease to give rise to a "dull" pain. Periodontal disease is a bacterial infection that affects the soft and hard structures that support the teeth. When to see your dentist If you have toothache for more than one or two days, visit your dentist as soon as possible to have it treated. The longer you leave it, the worse it will get. If your toothache isn't treated, the pulp inside your tooth will eventually become infected. This can usually lead to a dental abscess, with severe and continuous throbbing pain. Painkillers, such as paracetamol and ibuprofen, may reduce the pain and discomfort while you're waiting for an appointment. Children under 16 years of age shouldn't be given aspirin. Find a dentist near you. What causes toothache? Toothache occurs when the innermost layer of the tooth (dental pulp) becomes inflamed. The pulp is made up of sensitive nerves and blood vessels. Dental pulp can become inflamed as a result of: tooth decay – this leads to holes (cavities) forming in the hard surface of the tooth a cracked tooth – the crack is often so small that it can't be seen with the naked eye loose or broken fillings receding gums – where the gums shrink (contract) to expose softer, more sensitive parts of the tooth root periapical abscess – a collection of pus at the end of the tooth caused by a bacterial infection There are a number of other conditions that can cause pain similar to toothache, even though the pulp isn't affected. These include: periodontal abscess – a collection of pus in the gums caused by a bacterial infection ulcers on your gums sore or swollen gums around a tooth that's breaking through – for example, when your wisdom teeth start to come through sinusitis – which sometimes causes pain around the upper jaw an injury to the joint that attaches the jaw to the skull (temporomandibular joint) Babies can also experience discomfort when their teeth start to develop. This is known as teething. Treating toothache The type of treatment you have for toothache will depend on the cause of the pain, so your dentist will examine your mouth and may carry out an X-ray to try to identify the problem. If your toothache is caused by tooth decay, your dentist will remove the decayed area and replace it with a filling. If your toothache is caused by a loose or broken filling, the filling will be taken out, any decay will be removed, and a new filling put in place. If the pulp inside your tooth is infected, you may need root canal treatment. This procedure involves removing the infected pulp and then inserting a special type of filling to seal the tooth and prevent reinfection. Your tooth may need to be removed if the toothache can't be treated using these methods or the tooth is wedged between another tooth and your jaw (impacted). Preventing toothache The best way to avoid getting toothache and other dental problems is to keep your teeth and gums as healthy as possible. To do this, you should: limit your intake of sugary foods and drinks – you should have these as an occasional treat and only at mealtimes; read more about cutting down on sugar brush your teeth twice a day using a toothpaste that contains fluoride – gently brush your gums and tongue as well clean between your teeth using dental floss and, if necessary, use a mouthwash don't smoke – it can make some dental problems worse Make sure you have regular dental check-ups, preferably with the same dentist. The time between check-ups can vary, depending on how healthy your teeth and gums are and your risk of developing future problems. Your dentist will suggest when you should have your next check-up based on your overall oral health. Children should have a dental check-up every six months so tooth decay can be spotted and treated early. Read more about taking care of your teeth and keeping your teeth clean.

Suffering From A Bloated Stomach? This Is Why And What You Should Do To Relieve Constipation

03:13
Suffering From A Bloated Stomach? This Is Why And What You Should Do To Relieve Constipation Can I ask you a simple question – do you feel bloated? Well, if your answer is yes, then you’re in the right place! Yes, if you are constantly dealing with bloated stomach, there are natural remedies and methods you can use to solve this problem. But first, I would like to say a few words about the most common foods and reasons that trigger bloating. Here’s what you need to know: First, you should know that dairy products can cause gas and bloating, so you should limit the amount of milk, cheese, yogurt and other dairy products, and switch to drinking coconut, almond, soy or flax milk. Yes, we all know that broccoli, cabbage and asparagus are loaded with healthy nutrients! But, did you know that they can cause gas, due to its raffinose content, a sugar that is undigested until it gets to the large intestine. This means one thing – you should consume these vegetables in reasonable amounts. You should also avoid beans, because they contain oligosaccharide, a sugar that is not digestible by the body. You can soak dry beans before cooking them to help eliminate some of their sugars. Did you know that apples and pears are fruits that are a rich source of soluble fiber, which is a good thing? But, the bad thing is that these fruits can’t be tolerated by sensitive stomachs! Which means that if you have sensitive stomach – you should definitely avoid these fruits. When we chew a gum or a hard candy, we usually swallow more often, which means that we are swallowing more air. Gums and candies that include artificial sweeteners can cause gastrointestinal problems. We all know that salty foods are loaded with sodium which makes you “keep” more water in your body. This means that you should lower the salt intake and make sure you do not consume more than 2300 mg daily. Carbonated drink like soda and beer release carbon dioxide, which causes bloating. Note: the expert say that the following 10 remedies have incredible digestive-healing properties and thus reduce the bloating shortly after taking them. Stress, poor diet and not enough good bacteria in the gut cause bloating, constipation and gas. These conditions are not dangerous, but make you feel bad and uncomfortable. https://youtu.be/mKw4dWW0OwU
