Obamacare May Force Individual Health Plans to Cancel
Obamacare May Force Individual Health Plans to Cancel
Health insurance and how it works
When I consider purchasing an individual health insurance plan for myself or my family, do I have any financial obligations beyond the monthly premium and annual deductible? Answers: It depends on the plan, but some plans have the following cost-sharing elements that you should be aware of. Co-Payments: Some plans include a co-payment, which is typically a specific flat fee you pay for each medical service, such as $30 for an office visit. After the co-payment is made, the insurance company typically pays the remainder of the covered medical charges. Deductibles: Some plans include a deductible, which typically refers to the amount of money you must pay each year before your health insurance plan starts to pay for covered medical expenses. Coinsurance: Some plans include coinsurance. Coinsurance is a cost sharing requirement that makes you responsible for paying a certain percentage of any costs. The insurance company pays the remaining percentage of the covered medical expenses after your insurance deductible is met. Out-of-pocket limit: Some plans include an out-of-pocket limit. Typically, the out-of-pocket limit is the maximum amount you will pay out of your own pocket for covered medical expenses in a given year. The out-of-pocket limit typically includes deductibles and coinsurance. But, out-of-pocket limits don't typically apply to co-payments. Lifetime maximum: Most plans include a lifetime maximum. Typically the lifetime maximum is the amount your insurance plan will pay for covered medical expenses in the course of your lifetime. Exclusions & Limitations: Most health insurance carriers disclose exclusions & limitations of their plans. It is always a good idea to know what benefits are limited and which services are excluded on your plan. You will be obligated to pay for 100% of services that are excluded on your policy. Beginning September 23, 2010, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (health care reform) begins to phase out annual dollar limits. Starting on September 23, 2012, annual limits on health insurance plans must be at least $2 million. By 2014 no new health insurance plan will be permitted to have an annual dollar limit on most covered benefits. Some health insurance plans purchased before March 23, 2010 have what is called "grandfathered status." Health Insurance Plans with Grandfathered status are exempt from several changes required by health care reform including this phase out of annual limits on health coverage. If you purchased your health insurance policy after March 23, 2010 and you're due for a routine preventive care screening like a mammogram or colonoscopy, you may be able to receive that preventive care screening without making a co-payment. You can talk to your insurer or your licensed eHealthInsurance agent if you need help determining whether or not you qualify for a screening without a co-payment. There are five important changes that occurred with individual and family health insurance policies on September 23, 2010. Those changes are: 1. Added protection from rate increases: Insurance companies will need to publically disclose any rate increases and provide justification before raising your monthly premiums. 2. Added protection from having insurance canceled: An insurance company cannot cancel your policy except in cases of intentional misrepresentations or fraud. 3. Coverage for preventive care: Certain recommended preventive services, immunizations, and screenings will be covered with no cost sharing requirement. 4. No lifetime maximums on health coverage: No lifetime limits on the dollar value of those health benefits deemed to be essential by the Department of Health and Human Services. 5. No pre-existing condition exclusions for children: If you have children under the age of 19 with pre-existing medical conditions, their application for health insurance cannot be declined due to a pre-existing medical condition. In some states a child may need to wait for the state's open-enrollment period before their application will be approved.

Health Care Insurance | Instantly Compare Affordable Health Care Insurance Plans and Save
Finding low cost Health Care Insurance is now easy. With http://BetterHealthInsurancePrices.com/compare you can instantly view plans side-by-side so you can choose the best option that meets your needs and budget. Learn about the 5 quickest ways to lower your health care insurance premium. 1. Adopt a healthy lifestyle Living a healthy life has many benefits. Your healthy lifestyle can easily help you in bringing down the health insurance premium. Exercise regularly, eat healthy diet, avoid smoking and heavy drinking — and your visits to the doctor will surely be minimized. The healthier you are, the lesser you are represented as a risk for the insurance company. 2. Shop for the best available price One of the best options to keep your premium lowest is to go out and shop around for the health care policy. This will ensure that you find the best available policy that fits in your budget. Do a thorough research before investing in any policy. You can get information from your friends and relatives or even Internet. 3. Take up plans with higher deductibles Insurance plans with higher deductibles tend to have lower premiums. Typically, deductible is the amount you are expected to pay toward hospital, doctor, and other medical bills. Taking up a plan with a higher deductible may not be a universally applicable idea. If you're generally healthy and do not fall ill very frequently, then you can take up this plan. This way you can keep your premium at a lower rate and avail basic health care facilities as well. But, if you have a history of some major consistent illness, avoid taking this plan. 4. Take up a policy early in your life The premium varies to a great extent with the age of the person. Try and get a policy as early in your life as you can. For example, if you buy a policy at the age of 25, then you'll have to pay lesser premium but, if you go for the same policy at the age of 50 you'll end up paying a raised premium amount. 5. Explore Affordable Health Insurance Coverage Options by Zip by using our comparison service At http://BetterHealthInsurancePrices.com/compare you'll be able to compare multiple health plan options from many insurance companies including Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Assurant, UnitedHealthOne, many Blue Cross and Blue Shield Companies, Time, Pacificare, World Insurance, Humana, Kaiser Permanente, Unicare, Vista Health Plans and more. Get The Best Health Insurance That’s Actually Affordable
Visit: http://healthamerica.legitgigs.online & apply for a free health insurance quote and compare rates from local and national carriers. In this video, I will share with you a resource that I found that will enable you to find good health insurance that is affordable for you and your family. As You Already Know, Health Insurance Can Be Very Expensive: Annual premiums for employer-sponsored family health coverage reached $17,545 this year, up 4 percent from last year, with workers on average paying $4,955 towards the cost of their coverage -- according to the Kaiser Family Foundation/HealthResearch & Education Trust. -Ref: Sep 22, 2015. Health insurance premiums are projected to increase in 2017. This is due to problems with the state exchanges are resulting in projected premium hikes in numerous states, including California and Michigan, driven by requested increases from insurers like UnitedHealth and Humana in the exchanges they are still involved in. An executive working for Deloitte (center for health solutions) told Politico that "a number of carriers need double-digit increases" next year due to the unpredictable and dynamic nature of Obamacare. But You Don’t Want To Get Just Any Cheap Health Insurance Right? The state exchanges are bleeding insurers. Among them are Humana, Premera Blue Cross and UnitedHealthcare–the largest health insurer in the country–that are leaving various state exchanges. Insurers like Aetna and Blue Cross Blue Shield and the nonprofit Kaiser Foundation are also raising questions about the programs viability and others, like Cigna and Anthem, have not been doing well in the exchanges. In fact, the poor results of the exchanges have made it likely that the bronze plans will be scrapped altogether. The reasons for the detrimental quality of the exchanges: high-cost risk pools and...ObamaCare #’s aren’t up to par. In testimony that Maryland Senator Barbara Mikulski called bone-chilling, Colorado mom Peggy Robertson recently shared with a Senate committee the unbelievable story of how a major health insurance carrier refused to insure her and what they suggested she do to make herself eligible for coverage. In 2007, Robertson was denied coverage by Golden Rule Insurance, a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group. In a letter explaining the denial, the company claimed that Robertsons previous C-section made her a financial risk for the company. If she had another C-section within the first three years of coverage, the company would not profit from her policy. It was a risk they werent willing to take and because the Colorado Insurance Division would not allow them to exclude C-section benefits for the first three years, they denied her coverage altogether. Robertsons story may sound all too familiar, but unfortunately it doesnt end there. In that same letter, Golden Rule went on to suggest what Robertson might do to make herself eligible for coverage: Get sterlized. That an insurance company would dare to even hint that a healthy woman should be medically sterilized so they can make a profit is, in the words of Senator Mikulski, morally repugnant. But lets face it, women already get the short end of the stick when it comes to health care coverage. Possessing a womb makes us a liability in the eyes of insurers and more than half of them dont even offer maternity coverage. Those who do will often raise the premiums of women who have had C-sections or, as in Robertsons case, refuse to cover them at all. Of course, women arent the only ones getting a raw deal from profit-driven health insurance companies. Americans are suffering all over under our current system of health care. But when the largest insurance company in the United States feels like they have a right to plan your family to benefit their bottom line, we have a serious problem. Term Life Insurance Quotes With No Medical Exam
Visit: http://paydayloansplp.co.uk/term-life-insurance-medical-exam/ Term Life Insurance Quotes With No Medical Exam. If you are looking for a phrase quote with no examination, then you've probably bought lifestyle insurance plan policy before and had to go through a actual or you are dreading that part now. A majority of insurance plan providers require a wellness check, which typically involves a nurse coming to your house (if that's what you prefer). They pull out a scale to weigh you and they check your size. The measure your hypertension and ask you a whole host of wellness concerns. And the part that many people dislike, they'll take some blood vessels and yes, you have to pee in a cup. So what if you don't want to go through with that? Well, thankfully that many lifestyle insurance plan policy organizations have introduced policies that require no wellness check. What are the benefits? • You can get up to $500,000 of insurance plan policy • No wellness check, only a few wellness concerns • No agent will call you or visit you • Instant protection, if you are eligible • Print your plan from the privacy of your home Are there any drawbacks? The premiums on a insurance plan policy without a wellness check are higher than if you were to take a wellness check. The reason for this is because the plan provider is taking a risk by insuring you without first checking your wellness. For some people, the extra cost is worth it if you don't want to wait the 4 to 6 weeks that it normally takes to get a insurance plan policy, or if you don't want to go through with a actual. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVJx_1wj7yQ What is the process? 1. Fill out an online program and answer some basic wellness concerns 2. Compare the rates based on the amount and phrase you choose 3. Submit your program, which can be approved in just a few minutes if you are eligible 4. Print your plan off right from your desktop computer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AN-V_yYAlCc What's the catch? You have to be in general great wellness to be eligible for a a plan without a wellness check. Minor medical concerns like hypertension or cholesterol (if it's well controlled with only one prescription needed) is usually ok, but If you have a major pre-existing condition, then you are better off going with a traditional insurance plan policy. https://www.truebluelifeinsurance.com/no-medical-exam-term-life-insurance/ Your size and weight must also be within the underwriting guidelines, which will vary with different insurance plan providers. Being slightly overweight is usually not an issue, though you won't be eligible for a the best rate, but if you are obese then you wouldn't are eligible. Also, a great deal of insurance plan you can get is $500,000 so if your need for insurance plan is greater than that, you'll have to go through with a wellness check. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oickh_W_6bw

Medicare Annual Wellness Visit Information For You
Go To http://www.InsuredMeds.com for FREE Quotes & Info Medicare Annual Wellness Visit Information For You If Medicare covers you, you have a number of free preventive care services available to you to promote your health and wellbeing. All Medicare beneficiaries are eligible for an annual wellness visit, a yearly appointment with your health care provider to update or develop a five to 10-year prevention schedule based on your needs. If you have been receiving Medicare Part B benefits for at least 12 months and have not had an initial "Welcome to Medicare" exam, you are now eligible for this free benefit. There are no deductibles or coinsurance payments associated with this visit. Be sure when you are scheduling the appointment you do not indicate you want a physical, which you will be charged for. This is not a head-to-toe physical, but more of a health risk assessment. The exam will include checking to be sure your heart, lungs and other body systems are working properly. You should be prepared to answer questions regarding your medical history, current medications, cognitive functioning, and any concerns you may have about your health. The health professional you choose will also take routine measurements like your height, weight and blood pressure. No charge for Medicare beneficiaries. If you have Original Medicare, in addition to the annual wellness visit, there are a number of preventative care services available to you with no coinsurance deductible if you see a doctor who accepts the assignment. The physician is not able to charge you separately for more than the Medicare covered amount for the service. If you are in a Medicare Advantage plan, your plan will not be able to charge you for preventative care services that are free for people with Original Medicare, as long as you see in-network providers. Other preventive services Depression screenings, diabetes screenings, heart disease screening, hepatitis C screening, HIV screening, medical nutrition therapy, obesity counseling, osteoporosis screening, sexually transmitted disease screenings, smoking cessation counseling as well as a number of vaccinations. Some of the other Medicare preventive services that can be provided without coinsurance or a deductible include: abdominal aortic aneurysm screening, alcohol counseling, breast, cervical, colon lung, and prostate cancer. These services will not be a part of your annual wellness visit, but may be suggested by your health professional as follow-up care following your visit. The best way to stay healthy is to live a healthy lifestyle by exercising, eating well, keeping a healthy weight, and not smoking. Preventive services like the annual wellness exam can help, too, by finding health problems early, when treatment works best. Call 1-800-MEDICARE for more information on any of these screenings or visit www.medicare.gov to get the most current information on what is covered. Medicaid for Children Leads to Better Outcomes Later in Life
The recent election has caused many to question whether significant changes are about to happen to Medicaid. Repeal of the Affordable Care Act would, of course, lead to the elimination of the Medicaid expansion, which could result in significant numbers of adults losing their coverage overnight. But even without repeal, many Republican replacement proposals also result in significant changes to Medicaid, whether it be through funding, eligibility, or benefits. So, again, let's talk about what Medicaid does, and whether it's long term benefits are worth it. This is Healthcare Triage News. What Will it Cost to Buy Insurance on the Marketplace?
What will it cost to buy health insurance on the ACA's Insurance Marketplace? Perhaps the biggest question patients might have, that question is answered in this, the ninth installment of the Texas Medical Association's video series explaining the new Health Insurance Marketplace (sometimes called "exchange") under the federal health law, the Affordable Care Act. The physician, Carlos "Hey Doc" Cardenas, MD, Chair of TMA's Board of Trustees, answers, "Here's a surprise, friend. The cost of your insurance depends on what you want to buy, but it also depends on you. The insurance companies can charge you more or less depending on where you live, how old you are, how many people you want to cover in your family, and whether you smoke. What you pay also depends on what insurance you choose. Buy a bronze or silver plan, and you'll pay less each month in premiums. But you will have to pay more of the costs when you actually use the insurance. The opposite happens with gold and platinum plans. They have higher premiums and lower out-of-pocket costs. Remember too, you can buy plans that cover more kinds of health care services -- but they will cost more. And your income determines whether you can get government help to pay for your insurance. To give you a rough idea of the costs and the amount of government help you might get, we put a calculator from the Kaiser Family Foundation on the our website at HeyDoc.texmed.org. Give it a try! For answers to more of your questions, stay tuned ... or go to healthcare.gov... or BeCoveredTexas.org ... or HeyDoc.texmed.org. For the Texas Medical Association, I'm Carlos "Hey Doc" Cardenas."

Proactive Healthcare versus Reactive Healthcare
Dr. Rodney Dunetz founder of the Dunetz Wellness Center and Acupuncture Boca Raton talks about Proactive Healthcare versus Reactive Healthcare. Americans spend an estimated $3 trillion on healthcare each year, which is nearly twice the amount of the developed world. Whether it’s going to the doctor for a routine “checkup,” getting a prescription for your back pain, or having a surgical procedure performed, healthcare is downright expensive. But these costs could be significantly reduced if Americans start focusing on proactive healthcare vs reactive healthcare. Memorial Awarded Grant To Provide Behavioral Health And Primary Healthcare Under One-Stop Clinic
Memorial Healthcare System is now providing residents in South Broward with integrated primary and behavioral healthcare under the same roof as part of a federally and county funded grant aimed at delivering personalized treatment plans for patients. The Mind/Body Wellness Project – administered by Memorial Outpatient Behavioral Health Center and South Broward Community Health Services– will form a Core Team that provides the services at its newly expanded outpatient clinic located in Hollywood, Florida. The federal grant, awarded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration with additional funding through the Broward County Department of Human Services, will provide for a dedicated nurse practitioner, an RN Care Coordinator, a Medical Assistant, an Integrated Care Manager/Social Worker, a Peer Wellness Coach and a Psychiatric Pharmacy Resident. The resources and personnel provided by the grant is now in addition to the center’s established multidisciplinary and multicultural team of licensed psychiatrists, advanced registered nurse practitioners, licensed psychotherapists and certified peer support specialists who use effective evidence-based approaches to help patients achieve their goals. Additional services will include nutritional services, exercise classes, smoking cessation and chronic disease self-management support. Each ancillary program is evidence-based and targets behavioral changes toward promoting health outcomes of the patient, said the center’s medical director, Clara Alvarez Villalba, MD. “Logistically, The Mind/Body Wellness Project and the Telepsychiatry will increase the access to a full range of medical care for patients. It will help improve coordination of care among providers.” The services are being provided at the Center for Behavioral Health, 3400 N. 29th Avenue, Hollywood, Florida. Additional clinical rooms have already been constructed and are now fully operational. As part of this initiative, telepsychiatry units will be installed at two South Broward Community Health Centers and one at Memorial Outpatient Behavioral Health Center so patients will be able to access behavioral health providers via video as part of their primary care visit. Project director David Freedman said having a clinic that provides both mental and physical healthcare will benefit patients who often seek help in one area, but not both. “While mental disorders including substance use issues are common in the United States, the burden of chronic illness is particularly concentrated among these patients,” Freedman said. Adults with both physical and behavioral health issues experience greater morbidity and mortality than those in the general population that do not have these co-occuring medical issues, Freedman said. Under the program, the Core Team will meet weekly to develop, oversee and manage a personalized treatment plan for each patient. Patients’ disease specific improvements will be evaluated initially to establish a baseline followed by six-month measurements of blood pressure, body/mass index, waist circumference, breath CO, plasma glucose, HgA1c, HDL and LDL cholesterol and triglycerides. Mental health symptom reduction and sobriety over time will be monitored as well. For more information about the program, call (954) 276-3455. About Memorial Healthcare System’s Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services The mental health professionals at Memorial Behavioral Health Services provide comprehensive psychiatric and psychotherapy services designed to get individuals on the road to psychological well-being. Innovative evidence based programs are available for both adults and children through a variety of inpatient and outpatient programs, and treatment plans are tailored to meet the specific needs of each patient. Various grant-funded programs are offered at Memorial Behavioral Health Services including the Rebel's Drop-In Center, a peer-run outpatient program that operates in partnership with the Broward County Department of Human Services and the Broward Behavioral Health Coaliton/ Florida Department of Children and Families. Memorial Behavioral Health Services also receives Ryan White funding and offers HIV support through psychiatric evaluation and medication management, individual counseling, intensive substance abuse outpatient services, mental health counseling and ambulatory (outpatient) detoxification. Additional funding for substance abuse treatment is made available through the Broward Behavioral Health Coalition/FL Department of Children and Families. Memorial Behavioral Health Services accepts many health care and managed care plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. Self-paying patients are also welcomed.
