Here is a first lesson for students studying photography. It’s aimed to assist teachers delivering photography to a new class. We’ll look at how the science of photography hasn’t changed since it’s invention in the 1830’s, whilst referring to examples from the past, and discuss what the essentials of photography actually is. There will also be several tasks to set students on their way to a great photography course. These include making a camera obscura out of a shoe box and studying the early pioneers of photography! The lesson is also accompanied by a lesson plan via the link below: https://goo.gl/PQdfvx For more teaching resources, check out our online Photography for Schools course by clicking the link below. https://www.theschoolofphotography.com/photography-for-schools If you enjoyed this video, make sure to subscribe to the channel to never miss future uploads. Now what digital zoom physically is, it's not the zoom that's actually happening when I'm using this lever here, which is physically moving the elements in the lens. Digital zoom literally just takes the sensor within the camera and zooms in on that sensor. So basically, yes, you're going to get closer to whatever it is you're photographing, but you're going to lose quality and you're going to lose resolution along the way. For that reason I always recommend never using digital zoom, because if you really do want to go in and get closer, that's always something you can do after the fact in a program like Photoshop, that way you have a larger file with more data that you can crop in or crop out how you want. So if you're even thinking for a second about using digital zoom, don't do it.

Nicky Hockly talks about mobile learning at the 2010 IATEFL Annual Conference in Harrogate, UK, and argues that "Learners are coming to class increasingly wired up: iPods, MP3 players, mobile phones, digital cameras... How can teachers integrate this technology into classroom teaching? This workshop looks at some of the resources that students can access on their mobile devices, and also at the video and audio that they themselves can produce in class, using mobile technology."

This is a photography tutorial for beginners. In this video, you will learn about the three things that affect the exposure of an image. After watching, you'll know exactly what the aperture, shutter speed and ISO do. Video Summary There three things that affect the exposure of an image: The APERTURE, SHUTTER SPEED and ISO. You need to find the perfect balance between these three elements to get the right look that you want, as well as the right exposure. The aperture affects the amount of light that comes into the sensor and the depth of field. The depth of field will determine how much of the image is in focus. The shutter speed will determine the length of the exposure. The longer the shutter speed, the more light comes in, and the shorter the shutter speed, the less light comes into the image. It also determines the amount of blur that appears in the photo. A longer exposure is more susceptible to blur and camera shake. The ISO is the sensitivity of the sensor to light. Lower ISOs mean that the sensor is less sensitive and therefore going to need more light to expose an image. Higher ISO requires less light to expose and image, but adds noise the the image. Noise will saturate color, making them look unrealistic. Getting the right exposure is all about balancing these three elements. It will take time, but if you learn the basics, it gets easier! Leave comments and questions in the comment section! I'm always happy to help! Thanks! LINKS! www.froknowsphoto.com/should-your-camera-shoot-without-a-card This is a tip for everyone with a DSLR. One of the first settings you should change in the camera even before you set it to RAW is to turn on the CARD LOCK in the menu. What this is doing is making sure that you do not shoot any pictures without a memory card in the camera. You would think it defaults to this but for some reasons it doesn't. I learned my lesson very early on when shooting film when I forgot to load a roll of film and started to shoot. I probably took about 20 shots before I realized I did not have film in the camera. So do yourself a favor and LOCK that bad boy up so you don't make the same mistakes I did!!! Be sure to join the conversation and sign up for the Forum on www.FroKnowsPhoto.com Do you like the shirt I am wearing, you can pick one up at www.froknowsphoto.com

The first tip I would give you is be observant. Notice the subtle nuances, the relationship between the bride and the groom, and hone in on those moments and those nuances. Just look for things out of the ordinary. Get different angles. Get low. Get high. Another really good way to get great candids is to just blend into the scene. Don't be obnoxious. Don't be up in people's space. Because if they see you you're not going to get a candid. It's going to be a forced, posed picture. I spend a lot of time when shooting any event positioning myself as a fly on the wall just blending in and taking in the scene. I worked for a photographer for a while who said no matter what he's shooting the first thing he does is get a lay of the land. Again, what that means is just taking into account everything that's there including the relationships and nuances, and using that to his advantage as he shoots the event. A lot of times, especially the weddings, it's easy to anticipate when the couple might kiss, they might hug, or they might dance. Look for special moments outside of the wedding, too. Maybe they're whispering in each other's ear at a table or something. If you're looking for something like that you can catch it from across the room and have them have no idea you even got it. Another really great way to get good candids is to make sure that you're comfortable with the people you're photographing and they're comfortable with you. With a wedding especially you want to kind of develop a relationship before it. Get to know the people. Don't act like a business proprietor photographing a client. Make it that you're there because you want to be there and you want to get these great photographs. And make sure they know that. The more they know that the more comfortable they're going to be with you and the better photographs you'll get overall.

If you have a DSLR of any kind you can take photos just like the ones in this video - right now. You do not need an expensive camera to take pictures like this. You just need a basic DSLR. A lot of people think that you need the best gear to take the best photographs. Now that is completely untrue. If you have the best knowledge and your own creativity and ideas and you know about things like: - Compostion - Light you can make way better pictures than someone who doesn't know these things. They might have a twenty thousand dollar camera, but the camera is not important. You see, in trick photography and special effects: http://trickphotographyvideos.com/photography-video-tutorials you want to focus more on creative ideas and less on the gear. The gear is just a tool. A good photographer will know how to use the basic fundamental principles of photography to take a good image with any camera. All DSLRs have a manual mode and that is what this course teaches you to use to create artistic images. So if you have a DSLR in your house right now - no matter what it is or what it's called - you will be taught how to use it to create artistic images like those shown. They were all taken with a Nikon D50 camera, which was the first entry level DSLR that Nikon released in 2005.They don't make it any more but you can get it on Ebay for a few hundred dollars. A basic entry new camera will also take cool pictures. For example by raising the shutter speed your camera will be on for longer - several seconds - and you can move a light around and record light trails. This technique is called light painting. Most people thing that they can just move a light around and it's done. Actually it's a whole art form on it's own. There are dozens of diffent lights that can be used and all of them have a specific use. You have to know how to move the lights in certain ways to create certain shapes. The course shows you how. If you have Photoshop you can get really creative, in addition to just using your camera. Photoshop is only required for about one third of the effects so don't worry if you don't have it. You can still do many many tricks inside the course.
