This video is beginning Feldenkrais lesson by Annie Thoe to improve barefoot walking, improve flexibility in the feet, foot and ankle alignment, and overall balance for the foot, ankle and leg. Great for lightening your step, agility, and graceful movement. Also, ground your nervous system to feel calmer, grounded and peaceful. Practice outside or indoors, though outdoors provides greater "grounding" in the electrical connection of your nervous system with the earth or "earthing." Great for skeletal alignment. This shared reading video takes place in a kindergarten classroom using the story, "I Went Walking." Shared Reading is a great time to bring the students to the carpet for a short amount of time (10 minutes) and have everyone's eyes on one text. Each day is focused on a specific reading foundational skill and reading literature standard. As I introduce the book, I want to emphasize how we are using the pictures FIRST by looking at the cover, back of the book, title, and even the title page to "get our brains ready" before we even start reading the book. We are doing inferential work by looking at the pictures and thinking which animals will come up next and how the little boy feels at the end when all the animals follow him. The text nicely lends itself for students to chime in because the structure of the book has great repetition. It's evident that this kindergarten class has structures and routines in place thanks to Mrs. Hackman who is an awesome kindergarten teacher! The students are highly engaged and are able to retell the story across their fingers.

Learning how to fall down and get back up This video is not meant to be an instructional video, I am just sharing the exciting moment when I got to start teaching my nephews how to stilt walk, I don't get to see them very often. They also each had a chunk of one on one time with me before I left them to their dad to walk around "on their own". http://shop.pegstilts.com/disclaimer.aspx This was a stilt walking lesson with my nephews in NY, it was their first time on strap on Peg Stilts. This video shows you how to play through quick chord changes when playing walking bass. In this video I outline an easy technique which uses something known as a chromatic approach note. A chromatic approach note is simply a note that is either a semitone lower of higher than the one you want to play. In this example I am using a semitone lower than the note I want to play. When playing a I-vi-ii-V chord progression in D, our chords are Dmaj7, Bmin7, Emin7 and A7. To play through these quickly using the chromatic approach note technique start by playing the root note of the chord and then play a chromatic approach to the next chord. If you do this between every chord change then you end up with an alternating pattern of Root note (R), chromatic approach (C) R,C,R,C and so on. We'll use the Dmaj7 to Bmin7 part of the progression as an example. We'd begin by playing D (R) then Bb (C) as it's a semitone below our next chord of Bmin7. This is followed by B (R) then D# (C), E(R), G#(C), A (R), C# (C) and then D (R). This is a great technique to use when navigating songs with quick chord changes such as "Oleo", "I Got Rhythm" (or any "Rhythm Changes" song) or if you want to try something a little more complex then use John Coltrane's "A Moments Notice". Using this technique can be a little tricky at times as you have to know your fretboard very well but stick with it. One of the best ways to practice this is to simply use it on as many tunes as you can! Good luck with the practice and leave me a comment to tell me how you're getting on! Did you enjoy this video? Playing Walking Bass Jazz Guitar Comping is really a great full way to comp in a duo setting. The walking bass really helps you lay down the groove and you can add the chords to make the harmony clear but also as accents in the rhythm. All The Things You Are is a great jazz standard to check this out on and you probably are already familiar with the song. Playing these two layers at the same time is challenging in this lesson I am going to discuss some of the things that you want to check out like playing bass lines over several bars of one chord. Adding variation in the bass line rhythms and dealing with higher tempos. 🔴 Subscribe for more free Jazz Guitar Lessons and Videos: https://bit.ly/JensLessons ☑️ Support me on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/jenslarsen/ ✅DOWNLOAD A FREE E-BOOK with 15 II Valt I licks! This is the review lesson of a Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement. Once you experienced the original lesson, you can repeat it in a short time. See below for the procedure. Enjoy the lesson. Thanks. ==================================================== Title: Drop the jaw and walking The jaw hangs on the skull or the head with the help of the neck and the hyoid bone but many of us don’t let that happen. We are usually unaware that we clench the jaw unnecessarily. Through this lesson, you learn to notice how you clench the jaw by lifting and dropping it in the slightly different directions. In other lessons, we learned it on the back( https://youtu.be/FfIFjjCbbrg ) and on the stomach(https://youtu.be/U1gO9r5Dz10). This lesson is the last of the series to integrate this learning into walking. ==================================================== FACEBOOK: https://goo.gl/P9Xhso Twitter: https://twitter.com/prognob Instagram: https://goo.gl/W4Cgqh Move With Awareness: https://goo.gl/64tcIN ==================================================== Nobuo Noguchi is Feldenkrais Practitioner in Kawagoe, Japan. The point of becoming free of the strongholds that resist the Spirit given life of grace is not to get free and then walk away. We have been set free so that we can live in greater union with Jesus through His Spirit. The new creation life works by 100% grace and by 100% guidance. We have all been guided by the Lord in many ways all of our lives; we need to learn to recognize and cooperate with those "un-self-conscious" ways. He also has many ways of leading us as we consciously seek His guidance. Interested in digging deeper? This is part of BrELT English as a Lingua Franca Week. ----- When we leave behind the monolingual bias, a new world full of possibilities emerges. The webinar will discuss some of these possibilities by exploring the concepts of ELF and translanguaging, showing how they are connected, and providing practical ideas of how to use translanguaging practices in the classroom. Michelle Ocriciano is an Academic Manager in sunny Brisbane, Australia. She has been part of the ELT world for 19 years in a variety of roles including teaching EAP, IELTS and Cambridge. She holds a B.A. in English and Linguistics, a Graduate Diploma in TEFL and an MA in Technology in Language Teaching.
