How To Take Synthroid Properly | Best Way To Take Levothyroxine Correctly | When To Take Thyroid Medication After Eating Hey guys! This weeks video is all about how to take your thyroid medication properly to get the most out of it. Levothyroxine is a medicine used to treat an underactive thyroid gland (hypothyroidism) which affects 1 in 70 women and 1 in 1,000 men in the UK. The thyroid gland makes thyroid hormone which helps to control energy levels and growth. Levothyroxine is taken to replace the missing thyroid hormone. KEY FACTS: • Levothyroxine starts working straight away, but it may be several weeks before your symptoms start to improve. • The most common side effects of levothyroxine are caused by taking a bigger dose than you need. Your doctor can lower your dose to help reduce any side effects. • Before you start taking levothyroxine, your healthcare professional will do a blood test to see what dose you need. Once you start taking the medicine you'll have regular blood tests to see how well it’s working. HOW AND WHEN TO TAKE: • Unless told otherwise by your prescriber or healthcare professional take levothyroxine once a day in the morning, ideally at least 30-60 minutes before having breakfast or a drink containing caffeine like tea or coffee. • Both breakfast and caffeinated drinks can stop your body taking in levothyroxine properly so it doesn't work as well. • If you can't take it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach take levothyroxine at least 2 hours after eating food. • If you buy any medicines, check with a pharmacist that they are safe to take with levothyroxine. Levothyroxine should not be taken at the same time as indigestion remedies or preparations containing calcium or iron (which are contained in some vitamin products). These types of medicines reduce the amount of levothyroxine absorbed by your body. Leave at least 2-4 hours between taking your dose of levothyroxine and any such preparation. • Soya interferes with thyroxine absorption, therefore if you are taking thyroxine you should try to avoid soya. If you wish to take soya, there should be as long a time interval as possible between eating the soya and taking the thyroxine. • Avoid products such as kelp, as they may interfere with thyroid function & wellbeing. Kelp is derived from seaweed and is naturally high in iodine. Because of this it is sometimes marketed as a "thyroid booster" and can be purchased in dry preparations and tablets. As with iodine itself, it is of no health benefit to those with thyroid disease. • Levothyroxine medication interactions link - https://bnf.nice.org.uk/interaction/levothyroxine.html BLOOD TESTS: Your healthcare professional will do regular blood tests to check the levels of thyroid hormones in your body before and after starting levothyroxine. These will allow your doctor to adjust your dose to suit you. At the start of treatment you can expect to have blood tests often. Once your hormone levels are stable, you’ll usually have a blood test after 4 to 6 months, and after that once a year. You may need blood tests more often if you: • Are pregnant • Start or stop a medicine that can interfere with levothyroxine • Have any symptoms that could mean your dose is not quite right MISSED DOSES: If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it's almost time for your next dose. In which case just skip the forgotten dose. Do not take 2 doses together to make up for a missed dose. If you forget doses often, it may help to set an alarm to remind you. You could also ask your pharmacist for advice on other ways to help you remember to take your medicine. Want to see more videos about everything health and pharmacy? We have to modulate the dose depending on the response and for us the control of sugar is determined by your blood sugar levels, the control of thyroid hormones in the body is actually determined by the levels of TSH, T3 and T$ levels, in which the most sensitive is the TSH levels,. Now the TSH levels is low, that means you have hypothyroidism, and if you have TSH levels which is high, that means you have hypothyroidism. That means the thyroid hormones level in your body is low, and the treatment obviously involves the replacement of thyroid hormones. We have thyroxine hormones which are available in the brands in the strength like 100 micrograms and 125 micrograms and so many other doses. So initially a dose of thyroxine is started and the TSH level is monitored. The TSH level is the most sensitive. So that’s what we monitor most of the time. Make sure that the TSH level which is monitored is in an early morning sample, in an empty stomach, because that is a very sensitive index. In any case, if there is a fluctuation, it is always better to go for another testing called the TSH with the free T4and free T3 level estimation. This is more sensitive than the normal T3, T4 testing which is done. In any case, when you have a fluctuation in the levels of hormone in the body, it is imperative that you go and meet either an endocrinologist or an ENT specialist who has got a good experience in the management of the thyroid levels, so that he can give you a proper treatment and control the thyroid hormones levels in the body, because thyroid hormones level estimation or the presence in the body is very important. The thyroid is responsible for very vital functions of the body and the control of this level is very important in the body.
6 Thyroid Pain Symptoms | You Should Not Ignore Descriptions of thyroid pain symptoms: About 4.6 percent of the United States population suffers from underactive thyroid . The risk for developing hypothyroidism and infertility is higher in women over age 50 and postpartum females. If you have multiple signs and symptoms of this problem, ask your doctor to check your thyroid hormone levels and get treatment of thyroid. Here are the signs and symptoms that you have an underactive thyroid. 1. Unexplained Weight Gain Weight gain without any change in diet or physical activity may indicate low levels of thyroid hormones. These hormones help regulate basal metabolism and thermogenesis as well as the metabolism of fats and glucose. An underactive thyroid contributes to a lower metabolic rate, which may cause excess weight gain. If you have unexplained weight gain, it is essential to consult your doctor to determine the exact cause and get hypothyroidism treatment weight loss. 2. Dry and Flaky Skin If you are following your usual beauty and skin care regimen and haven’t changed any of the products you use but your skin is dry and itchy, it could be a symptom of hypothyroidism or thyroid dry skin. The change in skin texture and appearance can be due to reduced blood circulation, one of the side effects of having low thyroid hormones. In addition, a slowed metabolism due to low thyroid hormone production can reduce sweating. Without proper sweating, the skin becomes dry and flaky. As these skin signs are rather nonspecific and often subtle, people tend to ignore them or attribute them to other causes. It is best to consult your doctor to see if there is an underlying health condition causing these skin changes. 3. Muscle Soreness and Pain People suffering from hypothyroidism often experience muscle weakness, pain, stiffness, or cramping. There may also be general joint pain. Low metabolism disrupts how your body burns energy, which can affect how your muscles feel after doing your regular exercises. Low thyroid often increases inflammation that may be contributing to your muscle and joint pain. In fact, about 40 percent of the hypothyroid patients had predominantly sensory signs of a sensorimotor axonal neuropathy early in the course of thyroid disease. 4. Hair Loss hypothyroidism hair loss and Proper functioning of the thyroid gland is essential for the development and maintenance of the hair follicles, and an underactive thyroid can result in significant changes in hair growth and texture. It may also affect eyebrows and body hair. The thyroid hormones thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3) modulate several aspects of hair anatomy, from the hair growth cycle to the hair’s pigmentation. If you are worried about hair loss and other hair-related issues, see your doctor to get your thyroid checked. 5. Constant Fatigue and Tiredness Fatigue and extreme tiredness are very common in people who have an underactive thyroid. When low thyroid hormones flow through the blood, cells do not function properly, leading to less energy, fatigue and constant tiredness. These symptoms persist even after getting proper sleep and rest. A 2012 study published in the European Journal of Endocrinology notes that autoimmune hypothyroidism patients had significantly higher levels of fatigue as compared with differentiated thyroid carcinoma patients health thyroid. 6. Menstrual and Fertility Problems Women with hypothyroidism may experience menstrual as well as fertility problems. Thyroid hormones have a great influence on menstruation, thyroid pregnancy, lactation and even uterine involution after childbirth. In fact, the study puts emphasis on the assessment of thyroid function in all patients with menstrual disorders to avoid unnecessary interventions like curettage and hysterectomy. Infertility can also be due to undiagnosed thyroid conditions. For any change in menstrual pattern as well as problems becoming pregnant, it is important to get your thyroid checked. Organic Icelandic Sea Kelp: https://shop.drberg.com/organic-sea-k... Take Dr. Berg's Advanced Evaluation Quiz: http://bit.ly/EvalQuiz Your report will then be sent via email analyzing 104 potential symptoms, giving you a much deeper insight into the cause-effect relationship of your body issues. It's free and very enlightening. Dr. Berg talks about Intermittent Fasting and your thyroid. Many people are concerned about intermittent fasting because they think they will lower their calories and damage or slow the already slow thyroid. As long as you keep the calories the same or keep your nutrients the same and eat less frequent meals - you will not slow the thyroid. In fact, intermittent fasting can help convert T4 to T3 improving the thyroid. I do recommend doing a ketogenic diet with intermittent fasting. Selenium (Nutritional or Brewers Yeast), and iodine is best for the thyroid, and I recommend taking sea help. Make sure your sea kelp is organic is clean. You may want to avoid doing too many cruciferous vegetables as they could slow the thyroid even more. Vitamin A and D are also vital for the thyroid and "Virgin Cod Liver Oil" is the best for that. How To Take Metformin Without Side Effects | When Is The Best Time To Take Metformin | How To Build Up Metformin | Metformin 500mg Side Effects Constipation Diarrhea Hey guys! This weeks video is about metformin and the importance of slowly building up your dose to the prescribed dose to help reduce it's side effects when you're first started on it. Metformin is a medicine used to treat type 2 diabetes and sometimes polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Type 2 diabetes is an illness where the body doesn't make enough insulin, or the insulin that it makes doesn't work properly. This can cause high blood sugar levels (hyperglycemia). PCOS is a condition that affects how the ovaries work. KEY FACTS: • Metformin works by reducing the amount of sugar your liver releases into your blood. It also makes your body respond better to insulin. Insulin is the hormone that controls the level of sugar in your blood. • It's best to take metformin with a meal to reduce the side effects. • The most common side effects are feeling sick, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach ache and going off your food. • Metformin does not cause weight gain (unlike some other diabetes medicines). • Metformin may also be called by the brand names Bolamyn, Diagemet, Glucient, Glucophage, and Metabet. HOW AND WHEN TO TAKE: It's best to take metformin tablets with a meal to reduce the side effects. Swallow your metformin tablets whole with a glass of water. Do not chew them. Metformin tablets come in different strengths. Your doctor will tell you how many tablets to take a day. DIFFERENT TYPES OF METFORMIN: Metformin comes as 2 different types of tablet - standard-release tablets and slow-release tablets. Standard-release tablets release metformin into your body quickly. You may need to take them several times a day depending on your dose. Slow-release tablets dissolve slowly so you don't have to take them as often. Your doctor or pharmacist will explain what type of metformin tablets you are on and how to take them. Metformin is also available as a liquid for children and people who find it difficult to swallow tablets. Liquid metformin is called by the brand name Riomet. WILL MY DOSE GO UP OR DOWN: Your doctor will check your blood sugar levels regularly and may change your dose of metformin if necessary. When you first start taking metformin standard-release tablets you will be advised to increase the dose slowly. This reduces the chances of getting side effects. (See video for explanation on how to build up dose slowly) If you find you can't tolerate the side effects of standard-release metformin, your doctor may suggest switching to slow-release tablets. HOW TO COPE WITH SIDE EFFECTS: • Feeling sick - take metformin with food to reduce the chances of feeling sick - it may also help to slowly increase your dose over several weeks. • Diarrhoea or vomiting - have small but frequent sips of water. It may also help to take oral rehydration solutions which you can buy from a pharmacy or supermarket to prevent dehydration. Don't take any other medicines to treat diarrhoea or vomiting without speaking to a pharmacist or doctor. • Metallic taste in the mouth - if you find that metformin is giving you a metallic taste in the mouth, try chewing sugar-free gum. If you find you are suffering from side effects talk to your doctor about switching to a slow-release tablet. MORE INFORMATION ABOUT METFORMIN: Visit the following links to learn more about metformin and serious side effects or allergies which will need medical attention. https://beta.nhs.uk/medicines/metformin/ https://patient.info/medicine/metformin-for-diabetes Want to see more videos about everything health and pharmacy? Click Here to Subscribe: http://Bit.ly/ThomasVid Website: http://ThomasDeLauer.com Fasting Effects on Metabolism and Thyroid- Thomas DeLauer… Thyroid Functions: The function of the thyroid gland is to take iodine, found in many foods, and convert it into thyroid hormones: thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3.) Thyroid cells are the only cells in the body which can absorb iodine - these cells combine iodine and the amino acid tyrosine to make T3 and T4. T4 (Thyroxine) is a prohormone and is inactive - when it is converted into its active form, T3 (Triiodide Thyronine), it can exert its action on the body metabolism in each and every cell in the body.It is released into the bloodstream and is transported throughout the body where it controls metabolism (conversion of oxygen and calories to energy.) Thyroid and Fasting: Many people with thyroid conditions, especially hypothyroidism, are concerned about the way intermittent fasting may affect thyroid function. There is a considerable amount of research examining the impact of fasting on thyroid function, but there is relatively little information regarding the role that intermittent fasting has on the thyroid gland. Most scientific articles include experiments in which a fasting state was created by 10 days or more without food - this is clearly not the same thing as intermittent fasting and is more closely related to starvation. Results from Longer Term Fasting Studies: A 2014 study from the European Journal of Endocrinology and a 2008 study from the journal Thyroid both found that fasting decreases the concentration of T3 thyroid hormone while thyroxine (T4) and free T4 levels stay the same or only decrease slightly - thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) does not increase. Triiodothyronine (T3) is a thyroid hormone that plays vital roles in the body's metabolic rate, heart and digestive functions, muscle control, brain development - it affects almost every physiological process in the body. Thyroxine (T4) is the main hormone secreted into the bloodstream by the thyroid gland. It plays vital roles in digestion, heart and muscle function, brain development and maintenance of bones. Thyroid-stimulating hormone (also known as thyrotropin or TSH) is a pituitary hormone that stimulates the thyroid gland to produce thyroxine (T4), and then triiodothyronine (T3) which stimulates the metabolism of almost every tissue in the body. What the Studies Mean: Multi-day (near starvation) fasting does change the level of the most active thyroid hormone (T3), but T4 (the precursor to T3) and the hormone used to test for thyroid function (TSH) are unchanged. So, multi-day fasting does affect the hypothalamus-pituitary-thyroid axis, just not on the hormones that affect thyroid function in the body. Fasting changes levels of thyroid-releasing hormone (TRH) and leptin, yet other values are held relatively constant over several days. Fasting and Ramadan: Muslims fast during the month of Ramadan - for one month, they only eat after the sun has set. They follow a pattern of intermittent fasting - fasting for 8 to 12 hours during the day followed by nourishment. A study published in the Journal of Medical Sciences evaluated the effect of Ramadan fasting on serum levels of some hormones among 42 Jordanian healthy male students. The fasting did cause a few changes in blood measurements such as blood glucose, HDL and LDL; however, most markers were unchanged. More importantly, it had no significant effect on T3, T4, or TSH levels - there were slight detectable changes in these values, but they stayed within normal limits. How To Test Blood Sugar | How To Check Blood Glucose | How To Check Blood Sugar Levels | Blood Sugar Test Procedure | How To Check Sugar Level | Blood Sugar Test Procedure | How To Use Lancet | How To Use Glucose Meter Hey all, this weeks video is a thorough guide on how to test your blood sugar levels properly. I've also included some really useful tips which I believe everyone should know. Let me know how you get on with my guide by leaving a comment below. If you have any friends or family who would also benefit from this video then feel free to spread the word. Thanks for watching. BLOOD GLUCOSE TESTING: Blood glucose testing, also known as blood glucose monitoring, is one of the main tools involved in controlling diabetes. Not everyone with diabetes will test their blood glucose levels but it is regarded as being very beneficial for helping to make diet and medication dosing decisions. If you are on any medication that can lead to hypoglycaemia (most notably insulin), you should test your blood glucose levels. WHAT IS A LANCING DEVICE: Lancing devices are used to obtain samples of blood for glucose testing using a lancet. A variety of lancets are on the market, the most common of which are automatic lancing devices (Used in the video). TESTING BLOOD GLUCOSE METER & TESTS STRIPS: Control solutions are used to check that the meter and test strips are working together properly and that the test is performing correctly. Most control solutions last 90 days after opening, please check yours for the actual date. The acceptable range of glucose for that solution is listed on the back of your test strip vial or control solution. USEFUL TIPS: Please watch the full video for all of them but here are some important ones, • Use a new lancet every time you use your lancing device. I know it's time consuming but if you don't change, it's going to hurt more and you're at risk of a skin infection. • Diabetic patients tend to build a collection of different blood glucose meters over time. It’s really important that you only ever use one meter to build up a trend of results because different meters will give slightly different results. HOW TO TEST BLOOD GLUCOSE: • Prepare your kit for testing. • This should include: your meter, test strip, lancing device, cotton wool, monitoring diary and sharps bin. • Ensure that the lancing device is primed with a new lancet. • Wash and dry your hands - to ensure that the result is not influenced by any sugars that may be present on your fingers. • A fuller drop of blood will be obtained if your fingers are warm, so it’s worth warming your hands by washing with warm water and rubbing them for 10 seconds. • Put a test strip into your meter, make sure it switches on and is ready. • Prick your finger with the lancing device at the sides of the finger as there are less nerve ending here than at the tips or the ‘pads’. Switch fingers regularly to prevent thickening of the skin. You may want to avoid using your little finger due to the skin being thin. • If your hands are warmed up you shouldn't need to squeeze your finger for a blood drop, if necessary apply light pressure to the surrounding area until a blood drop appears. Squeezing too hard can interfere with results. • Wipe away the first blood drop with clean cotton wool and use the second blood drop for testing (careful not to smear the drop). • Gently touch the blood drop with the test strip in the meter, wait a few seconds for result to appear. • If the test is successful, clean any blood off your finger – with the cotton wool if necessary. • Record the result/details in a monitoring diary. • Dispose of the test strip and ensure that the lancet used is put into a sharps bin. For more details, click here: http://dietvsdisease.org/how-to-lose-weight-with-an-underactive-thyroid/ To subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/c/DietvsDiseaseOrg?sub_confirmation=1 Losing weight and keeping it off can be a struggle. Especially if you have an underactive thyroid. Your metabolism has slowed down and you’re almost always feeling tired. In this video we're looking at 4 steps required to successfully lose weight with hypothyroidism. TITLE - How To Lose Weight With Hypothyroidism Slide - 1. Optimise Your Thyroid Medication If your medication is not helping to correct thyroid hormone levels, as well as relieve symptoms, then weight loss goes from difficult to impossible. Determine what type of medication is better for you, and also find the optimal dose required. While Levothyroxine is on average more effective, dessicated thyroid is a useful alternative that is reportedly much better tolerated. There is no difference between taking your thyroid hormone meds in the morning vs evening. Choose whatever is easier for you to have it on a fasting stomach. SLIDE 2. Cut Back on Added Sugars and Refined Starches I need to begin with this clarification: Carbohydrates are not inherently bad for you. That is, they do not make you fat or sick on their own. That said, carbs in the form of added sugars and highly refined starches are unhealthy and unnecessary. They offer almost zero nutritional benefit and make up a large portion of the excess calories we consume. Cutting back on added sugar is the most simple and direct way to cut out excess “empty” calories. This is done by limiting intake of junk foods, flavoured drinks, alcohol, white bread, most cereals, and a good portion of packaged food in your supermarket’s “health food” aisle. Now it’s unrealistic (and unfair) to expect yourself to completely avoid added sugar every day of the year. But you need to begin taking actionable steps that help you cut back and form healthier habits. Start by not having junk foods at home, or at least keep them out of sight in a cupboard you never use. 3. Base Meals Around Vegetables and Protein If you want to lose weight with an underactive thyroid, vegies and a source of protein should be the foundation of almost every meal you make, and plated first when serving. The main benefit of protein is that it’s much more satiating than both fat and carbs. That means it has a unique ability to reduce appetite and therefore your overall caloric intake too. STUDY - http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8862477, http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15466943 Studies show high protein diets may also reduce obsessive thoughts about food by 60% and cut desire for late-night snacks by half (3, 4). Foods high in protein include meat, seafood, eggs, nuts, legumes (beans) and dairy. Protein is also the muscle-building nutrient, so a high protein diet complements regular exercise. Nutrient-dense meals are even more important for those with hypothyroidism and other autoimmune diseases, where nutrient absorption and deficiency are more common. Emphasis goes to green leafy vegetables, mushrooms and cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage. As a general guide, the protein portion of your meal should be the size of your palm, and salad/vegetables the size of your hand. This would leave about 1/4 or less of your plate for healthy carbs if you so choose (such as rice or potato). 4. Increase Your Intake of Selenium and Zinc Selenium and zinc are two critical nutrients directly involved in thyroid function and metabolism. Selenium is an essential mineral that helps the body to recycle iodine. That’s the reason the thyroid has the highest selenium content (per gram of tissue) of all our organs. It’s thought that low selenium levels contribute to hypothyroidism through alternate mechanisms related to iodine. For this reason it’s fundamental to eat a diet that contains many selenium-rich foods, such as: Brazil nuts Tuna and sardines Beef and chicken Eggs Legumes Zinc is an essential mineral required to regulate TSH, which is a hormone from the brain that controls how much thyroid hormone your thyroid produces. In fact, the metabolism of zinc and thyroid hormones are closely interlinked, which is why a deficiency can lead to alopecia (hair loss). While zinc deficiency is very uncommon in the developed world, it’s still recommended to eat a variety of zinc-rich foods (8). This includes: Oysters and shellfish Beef and chicken Legumes, nuts and seeds Milk and yoghurt. Okay so I hope you found those 4 tips useful... In all honesty I've only JUST scratched the surafce here, there are certainly more steps to follow on after these ones. To find out more you can click the link in the description or on the youtube card where I've written about hypothyroidism and much more detail. Dietitian: Joe Leech (MSc Nutrition)

Low thyroid problems are also commonly called underactive thyroid problems. The medical name for this condition is hypothyroidism. The thyroid controls multiple bodily functions. One of its most important is regulating metabolism and metabolic processes. Someone with low thyroid problems experiences a "lowering" of metabolic function, characterized by reduced energy levels, sluggishness and listlessness. Weight gain is common. One of the most common low thyroid problems is a condition known as Hashimoto thyroid disease, or simply Hashimoto's. This is an autoimmune disorder. In other words, the body's own immune system attacks the thyroid and damages thyroid tissue. As a result, the thyroid produces fewer hormones. Causes of low thyroid levels Low thyroid levels can be caused by the following conditions. Tissue loss Hyperthyroidism is sometimes treated with radiation, which can cause tissue destruction. Surgery Thyroid gland removal surgery can also cause hypothyroidism. Exposure to abnormal amounts of iodides Iodides can be found in cold and sinus medicines, a heart medication known as amiodarone, or certain contrast dyes given before some X-rays. Lithium Lithium is frequently used as a treatment for manic-depression. Hypothyroidism may be a possible side effect. Antithyroid antibodies Certain physical diseases and conditions tend to cause hypothyroidism. Diabetes, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and chronic hepatitis have antibodies that reduce thyroid hormone production. Thyroid hormone production deficiencies When the thyroid isn't producing enough hormones, the thyroid gland may begin to enlarge. This condition is called a goiter. It's often visible as swelling in the front of the neck. Low Thyroid Symptomss The human body has to produce a certain level of thyroid hormones to maintain energy levels. Therefore, someone with low thyroid problems will often feel fatigued and sluggish. Signs and symptoms of low thyroid may be different at various ages. Newborns and infants will probably have the following symptoms: constipation, poor feeding, jaundice (a yellowing of the skin and eyes), signs of tiredness and irritability. Some of the same signs and symptoms will appear in adults, but there are also likely to be others: a reduction of intellectual ability constipation deeper, hoarse voice depression dry skin fatigue and exhaustion hair loss increased weight lack of appetite low tolerance to cold temperatures puffiness around the eyes Treating low thyroid problems is relatively simple. A thyroid hormone pill known as Levothyroxine, when taken once a day, will usually relieve symptoms. Work with your doctor to determine the proper dosage. Improvement is possible in approximately 7 days or even less. But generally, it takes about a month.

If you are struggling with your thyroid disorder and still having symptoms, this video is for you! After working with thousands of thyroid patients over 10+ years, I began seeing some common mistakes that were being made. Most of the time, the thyroid patient did not have any idea about the mistake. If you have Hypothyroidism and Hashimoto's Disease, make sure to speak with your doctor about the medication you are on. Find out if the medicine is only a T4 hormone (Synthroid/Levothyroxine) or a T4/T3 medicine (Armour or a compounded formula) because some patients need T3, while others may need T4. In order to know what medication you need, your doctor needs to run a full thyroid panel (scroll down to the bottom of the blog page to download all 67-blood markers I run on every patient): https://askdrking.com/do-you-have-expensive-urine/ If you are having any gastro-intestinal symptoms (bloating, constipation, flatulence, and/or diarrhea), make sure you work with a health care professional that understands food sensitivities and cross-reactive sensitivities. If you KNOW you have Hashimoto's Disease, you may find this blog post interesting: https://askdrking.com/you-can-still-eat-pizza-with-a-thyroid-disorder-under-one-condition/ Hashimoto patients MUST stay away from gluten due to the molecular structure of the gluten molecule being almost identical to the thyroid gland's tissue. LEARN how yoga poses can help you to treat THYROID disorders like like Hypothyroidism & abnormal THYROID levels! Can yoga be helpful for thyroid treatment? One of the most common thyroid diseases is Hypothyroidism, which results from the thyroid gland producing an insufficient amount of thyroid hormone known as thyroxine. Major symptoms of hypothyroidism are fatigue, tremor, nervousness, concentration problems, sweating, increase in bowel movement and rapid weight loss. Thyroid problems are more prevalent with the women especially after the pregnancy or menopause. Hatha Yoga offers several poses to stimulate the thyroid gland & treat hypothyroidism and get rid of thyroid problems in women and men effectively. Here is a list of 5 thyroid exercises you can follow to get rid of hypothyroidism/hyperthyroidism: # Sharvangasana / Shoulder Stand - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKNoV4whglc # Halasana / Plough Pose - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmerP6a8McE # Bhujangasana / Cobra Pose - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LK6OqTIqlZs # Dhanurasana / Bow Pose - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUA8TCfUlgw # Ustrasana / Camel Pose - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XcwltuAtz8 Thyroid Disease: The thyroid or endocrine glands consists of two connected lobes. The thyroid gland is found in the neck, below the thyroid cartilage(which forms the Adam's apple). The thyroid gland controls how quickly the body uses energy, makes proteins, and controls how sensitive the body is to other hormones. It participates in these processes by producing thyroid hormones, the principal ones being triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (sometimes referred to as tetraiodothyronine (T4)). These hormones regulate the growth and rate of function of many other systems in the body. T3 and T4 are synthesized from iodine and tyrosine. The thyroid also produces calcitonin, which plays a role in calcium homeostasis. People can suffer from hyperthyroidism. An overactive thyroid, is defined as an overproduction of the thyroid hormones T3and T4. This condition is most commonly caused by the development of Graves' disease, an autoimmune disease in which anomalous antibodies stimulate the thyroid to secrete excessive quantities of thyroid hormones. The disease can progress to the formation of a toxic goiter as a result of thyroid growth in response to a lack of negative feedback mechanisms. It presents with symptoms such as a thyroid goiter, protruding eyes (exophthalmo), palpitations, excessive sweating, diarrhea, weight loss, muscle weakness and unusual sensitivity to heat. The appetite is often increased. People can also suffer hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism is the underproduction of the thyroid hormones T3 and T4. Hypothyroid disorders may occur as a result of # Congenital thyroid abnormalities # Autoimmune disorders such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis, # Iodine deficiency # The removal of the thyroid following surgery to treat severe hyperthyroidism and/or thyroid cancer. Typical symptoms are abnormal weight gain, tiredness, baldness, cold intolerance, and bradycardia. Hypothyroidism is treated with hormone replacement therapy, such as levothyroxine, which is typically required for the rest of the patient's life. Yoga for Thyroid Problems: Practicing Yoga for thyroid problems is a natural way to get rid of this medical condition. Video # 2 in a weight loss with hypothyroidism video series. This video represents an actual hypothyroid patient from my practice who lost 40 pounds over 6 months with before/after pictures. You will immediately notice her changes in the picture above and I walk you through in detail how YOU can get these types of changes as well. Hypothyroid patients almost always have difficulty with weight loss due to a variety of reasons. Most patients wrongly believe that their weight loss problem is due primarily to a lack of thyroid hormone and that's where they are wrong. Low thyroid hormone by itself causes a slow metabolism but it also causes and encourages other hormone imbalances. Specifically it leads to insulin resistance, leptin resistance and even estrogen/progesterone imbalances. It is these changes that make future weight loss impossible. So that means focusing on thyroid hormone alone generally won't result in significant weight loss. Even adding on NDT or T3 to your regimen will likely result in 5-10 pounds of weight loss at MOST. Compare that to focusing on the other hormone imbalances and you can see the advantage in this case study above. I show you exactly how to test for the following hormone imbalances: 1. Adrenal related issues (checking cortisol levels) 2. Thyroid resistance (by checking free T3 and reverse T3) 3. Low testosterone (by checking free and total testosterone) 4. Estrogen dominance (by checking estradiol + progesterone) 5. Checking for leptin resistance (by checking fasting serum leptin levels) 6. Checking for insulin resistance (by checking fasting insulin and Hgb A1c) I also go over the treatment for each of these conditions and show you how the patient above was able to get these results. This particular patient has Hashimoto's thyroiditis, but this will also work for patients who have hypothyroidism. In addition I go over how to correctly pick the right diet to allow for weight loss in this patient population. More information in the video and the full blog post can be found here: http://www.restartmed.com/weight-loss-naturethroid/ You can read more on my website here: https://www.restartmed.com/ This video is not intended to be used as medical advice. Could a change of diet Reverse Diabetes? Click here: http://www.theictm.org/big-diabetes-lie/?hop=jhopshop&lp=order We're fatter and unhealthier than ever - and one of the consequences is a soaring rate of type 2 diabetes. The condition affects nearly six million people in the US and UK and costs the NHS $10.5billion annually, an amount expected to double in the next five years. Yet it's now being claimed that with the right diet, thousands of patients could effectively "cure" themselves, without the need for drugs. Check out this video report Click here: http://www.theictm.org/big-diabetes-lie/?hop=jhopshop All doctors advise using diet to help lower blood sugar, but what makes the new claim so controversial is the idea that the right sort of diet can actually reverse diabetes, cutting out the need for drugs altogether. Type 2 diabetes is caused by the body becoming resistant to the hormone insulin, resulting in a gradual rise in blood glucose levels. People who are overweight and not physically active are more at risk, particularly those with lots of fat around the abdomen. Click here: http://www.theictm.org/big-diabetes-lie/?hop=jhopshop&lp=order Longer term, the condition can lead to greater risk of heart attacks, kidney damage, blindness and damage to blood vessels in the legs and feet, which may even have to be amputated. There are several drugs that boost insulin production - but when these stop working, patients have to inject themselves with the hormone itself. One of the leading proponents of the new dietary approach is Dr Fedon Lindberg, a Norwegian endocrinologist who has treated more than 18,000 diabetic patients in his four clinics in his home country. "My experience with type 2 diabetic patients is that a balanced low-glycaemic diet coupled with a healthy lifestyle can reverse the disease," he says. Click here: http://www.theictm.org/big-diabetes-lie/?hop=jhopshop&lp=order "We have had many patients coming to us who were injecting high doses of insulin, as many as 200 units daily, who have managed to quit insulin and come off medications for blood pressure and other conditions." One of his patients, Hannermor Hultqvist, a retired nurse, weighed 190 pounds and was injecting 150 units of insulin a day when she arrived at Dr Lindberg's Oslo clinic. "I'd had type 2 diabetes for ten years and I was following the official low fat diet advice," she says. "Within eight months of following Dr Lindberg's recommendations, I stopped taking insulin. Now I've lost 70 pounds and my blood sugar is normal. "When I first told my doctor about the clinic and said I would probably be able to stop having insulin injections, he said he would eat his hat if that ever happened. He never has, even though I have given him several serving suggestions!" Click here: http://www.theictm.org/big-diabetes-lie/?hop=jhopshop&lp=order

http://www.HypothyroidRevolution.org Hypothyroidism Natural Treatment - Tips For Improving Thyroid Health Hypothyroidism natural treatment options are being sought after by many people affected by hypothyroidism. This is mainly due to the side effects, costs and problems associated with traditional hypothyroidism treatment. In this article we will discuss how hypothyroidism works as well as some small things you can do to improve your overall thyroid health. http://www.HypothyroidRevolution.org Background on hypothyroidism: Hypothyroidism is a problem where the thyroid gland produces little thyroid hormone. This condition is an outcome of a dysfunction in the thyroid gland. While there are lots of reasons why the thyroid can become impaired, alternative hypothyroidism natural treatment options are showing people new ways to combat hypothyroidism. How hypothyroidism works: The thyroid is made up of two connected lobes near the front of the neck. The hormones produced by the thyroid gland control the body's metabolic rate. When the thyroid gland doesn't perform correctly, each and every organ with the entire body may be impacted. Hypothyroidism (otherwise known as an under-active thyroid) creates a general depression on the cellular systems which are needed for energy manufacturing. An under-active thyroid will cause the metabolic activities in these cells to go down. When this happens, metabolic wastes than filtrate in to the organs and this causes them to become sluggish. How hypothyroidism affects the body: Hypothyroidism will make a person constantly feel tired and low on power. As one's metabolic process slows down, weight gain and constipation normally occur. Other indicators of hypothyroidism are fatigue, lack of energy, inability to tolerate chilly temperatures, menstrual irregularities, depression, sluggish reflexes, hair loss, dry skin, brittle nails, and puffy eyes. Hypothyroidism natural treatment suggestions: What many people fail to realize is that their daily routine could be contributing to their poor thyroid health. Here is a list of some natural adjustments you can make to help combat hypothyroidism. Eliminate saturated fats from your diet. Reduce or eliminate your soy consumption. Soy is known to depress thyroid performance and can cause an enlargement of your thyroid gland. Alkalinize your body. This really is an efficient way of stopping thyroid dysfunction. Vitamin B3 has been proven to reduce thyroid hormone levels. Women must take into consideration a hormonal balancing plan with progesterone cream to revive a wholesome balance. Eat kelp and other sea vegetables that are large in iodine. Iodine is needed for making the thyroid hormone. Radishes can help keep thyroid hormones balanced. If depression is an issue, try St. John's Wort which is a natural mood elevator. Chronic constipation can be alleviated by including additional dietary fiber to your diet plan. Consider supplementing with zinc and selenium. Severe zinc or selenium deficiencies can trigger decreased thyroid hormone levels. Coconut oil stimulates the thyroid gland and may perhaps help these suffering from hypothyroidism. In the end, hypothyroidism natural treatment options are becoming more and more popular as people start to educate themselves on how hypothyroidism works. While the suggestions pointed out above are some small things you can do to combat hypothyroidism problems, there are also complete hypothyroidism natural treatment programs available that can produce fantastic results.
