CCTV Shows Police Take Down Of Female Cancer Patient Hannah Cohen After Problems With TSA
Memphis, TN - A Memphis International Airport security video shows the confrontation between security personnel and Hannah Cohen, a St. Jude Children's Research Hospital patient, that led Cohen to file a federal lawsuit. The incident happened on June 30, 2015, when Cohen, 19, and her mother, Shirley, went through security at the Memphis airport. The women were traveling back to their Chattanooga home following treatment at the Memphis-based hospital. The video, obtained by The Commercial Appeal, shows Cohen speaking with several security agents. When one of the agents tries to detain her, Cohen tries to punch the agent, who then slams her to the floor. She then struggles to break free as the agent tries to handcuff her. According to the lawsuit, an alarm went off when Hannah went through the security screening. She was described as being impaired from radiation treatment and the removal of a brain tumor. The aggressive cancer treatment left the teen with limited ability to talk, walk, stand, see and hear. "(She) became disoriented and confused by the warning alarm and the actions of the personnel manning the security checkpoint to try to search her person because of her disability. The security personnel failed to recognize that she was confused because of her obvious disability and was unable to cooperate with the search," the lawsuit said.

Following Bloody Scuffle, Disabled Teen Sues TSA And Memphis Airport
19 year old Hannah Cohen is suing TSA agents after an incident in which the disabled patient was involved in a bloody scuffle at the Memphis airport. Cohen was flying home to Chattanooga on June 30th 2015 after receiving treatment at Memphis-based St. Jude, when she was injured and then arrested by security workers at an airport checkpoint. Attorneys say Cohen has an impairment from radiation and removal of a brain tumor, and is limited in her ability to talk, walk, stand, see and hear - and was disoriented by the alarm and the security workers' attempts to search her. Hannah's mother, Shirley Cohen, said she tried to tell TSA agents about her daughter's disability, but was kept away by police: "She's trying to get away from them but in the next instant, one of them had her down on the ground and hit her head on the floor. There was blood everywhere." http://www.cbsnews.com/news/disabled-teen-sues-tsa-memphis-airport-after-bloody-scuffle/ http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com

Racial divide in surviving breast cancer
There is a shocking race gap when it comes to surviving breast cancer, and research shows it is getting worse. SAN DIEGO - There is a shocking racial divide when it comes to surviving breast cancer, and recent research shows it is getting worse. Although African-American women are much less likely to be diagnosed with breast cancer, when they are, they are much more likely to die from it. This holds true nationwide, but many cities in California have much higher-than-average mortality rates for African-American women. Cancer Survivor Killed in Hit and Run
A man in Memphis, Tennessee tragically passed away on the same street he lived on, after being hit by a vehicle. A man in Memphis, Tennessee tragically passed away on the same street he lived on, after being hit by a vehicle. What makes the ordeal nearly unbearable is the fact that the victim battled and subsequently overcame numerous types of cancer. 59-year-old Curtis Echols had been walking home on a Saturday evening when a car careened off the road and struck a fence prior to fatally hitting Echols. The victim was left on the sidewalk for dead. His shoes, feeding tube and cane were right beside him. According to a witness, there were four female occupants in the Chevy Malibu that struck Echols. The driver started the car after the accident and fled from the scene. Police immediately launched an investigation into the accident. They soon learned the car belonged to a 25-year-old female who had lent it out to friends prior to the incident. 21-year-old Curteria Leuellyn has been identified as the driver. She is now facing charges of vehicular homicide. Despite the arrest, friends, family and neighbors of Echols are absolutely devastated at the man they admired and loved so much. Prior to his untimely death, Ethols successfully fought prostate, throat and tongue cancer.
