Lactitol is a sugar alcohol used as a replacement bulk sweetener for low calorie foods with approximately 40% of the sweetness of sugar. It is also used medically as a laxative. Lactitol, an unabsorbed sugar with defined laxative threshold and superior taste properties has been suggested as an alternative to lactulose. The side effects of lactitol include flatulence, bloating, abdominal cramps, or diarrhea. The side effects of lactitol include flatulence, bloating, abdominal cramps, or diarrhea. The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Lactitol Monohydrate are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Abdominal distension, Flatulence, Nausea, Vomiting, Dyspepsia, Cramps, Epigastric pain, Abdominal discomfort, Anal pruritus, dyspepsia. Lactitol is contraindicated in patients with galactosemia, iatrogenic hypersensitivity, intestinal obstruction and abdominal pain or bleeding. Ispaghula husk is the seed coats of the plant Plantago ovata Forssk. The husk is obtained by powdering the seed coats. Ispaghula husk is generally used for the treatment of habitual constipation (constipation not caused by a physical change to an organ) and as a stool softener to reduce pain while motion (as in anal fissures, hemorrhoids and after surgery to the anus or rectum). It can be used in people requiring more dietary fiber, such as patients with irritable bowel syndrome who are suffering from constipation or in combination with diet in patients with hypercholesterolemia (high blood cholesterol levels). Ispaghula husk should be taken with plenty of liquid. It should be taken during the day at least half an hour to one hour before or after taking other medicines and not immediately before bedtime. It should only be used in adults and children over the age of 12 years. Side effects have been reported with ispaghula husk medicines, including flatulence and abdominal distension (swelling of the belly). There is a risk of a build-up of hard, dry stool, particularly if Ispaghula husk is swallowed without enough liquid. Allergic reactions including rhinitis (runny nose), conjunctivitis (reddening and inflammation of the white of the eye), bronchospasm (excessive and prolonged contraction of the airway muscles) and anaphylaxis (severe allergic reaction) may also occur. Laxatives (of any kind) should be used in children only when deemed absolutely necessary and only under medical supervision. #onlinemedicine,#medicine,#ayurveda,#ayurved ,#Ayurvedic

Well, if you can relate to the above situations, you probably are suffering from lactose intolerance. Nutritionists all over the world recommend a glass of milk every day for all age groups. But what if you are unable to digest milk or any of its products? What if you are unable to enjoy the benefits of milk? Well, fret not. This post talks about the natural remedies for lactose intolerance. 1. Broccoli: Belonging to the family of cabbages, broccoli has been recognized as the nutritional powerhouse. It flourishes mostly during the winter months and contains phytonutrients that protect you from life threatening diseases. For consumption, broccoli can be added to a salad or stir fried with other veggies. 2. Spinach: Known as one of the most nutritious flowering plants all over the world, spinach happens to be more than a healthful choice. It is indeed the secret to a fit lifestyle. Spinach contains vitamins and minerals in abundance that fortify your physique with ample nourishment. For consumption, they can be added to salads, soups and wraps. 3. Orange: The well-known orange is a citrus fruit that grows in the first two months of the year. It is quite similar to lemon and tangerine, although the benefits imparted come in plenty. Orange contains Vitamin C that is an excellent choice for all who are lactose intolerant. 4. Sardines: Sardines are a wonderful source of calcium, something that often lacks in the diet of a lactose intolerant person. Since you can’t drink milk, you can make up for it through sardines. Other sources of calcium are nuts, beans, green vegetables, tofu and dried apricots. 5. Chocolate Milk: One of the best home remedies for lactose intolerance is intake of chocolate milk. It is always a better idea to drink chocolate milk instead of plain milk. The calcium found in chocolate milk can be absorbed better than regular milk. You will also be able to tolerate the flavour. Is it IBS or is it SIBO? What the hell do you do?

07:42
healthisgeek.co FB Group: http://healthgeeks.co/healthgeeksbadasscommunity IBS is a worthless diagnosis, you may have SIBO symptoms this is what you need to do. Last night I had to take my girlfriend’s mom to the hospital she was having terrible stomach pains. “I feel like my intestines are twisting,” she told me. We walk into the ER, her BP is high at 190/100, they gave her some medication and told her to drink the contrast for the CT. Blood work was fine, and no obstructions are found, discharged her with a diagnosis of IBS. Here are the symptoms associated, bloating, heartburn /GERD, constipation/ diarrhea, and abdominal pains. These are similar to SIBO symptoms. Here’s the perfect storm clusterfuck that usually proceeds these symptoms. Heavy dose of antibiotics Use of PPI (acid-suppressing medication) Have symptoms of slow thyroid Previous history of constipation What The Hell is SIBO and how to tell it to GTFO. Here comes the new kid on the block SIBO (small intestine bacteria overgrowth). We all have good bacteria and bad bacteria in us, typically it’s kept in a nice balance. However certain situations can cause bad bacteria to translocate (aka move) to the small intestine. For example, if you are not a regular pooper that backup can allow the bacteria that’s normally found in the lower colon to move back to the small intestine. Anytime you eat food for that bacteria you bloat like you are 9 months pregnant. After eating those translocated bacteria give off gas, you have only two opening on where it can come out. 1st Lower esophagus sphincter (LES) the tube that connects to your stomach, when that opens you can get heartburn. 2nd is your butt and have farts for days. HERE’S WHAT TO DO GI Doctor for SIBO GI Doctor: Ask for Hydrogen Breath Test more specifically: Lactulose Breath Test (LBT) May need to use an antibiotic drug called Rifaximin and or Neomycin, one or both may be used to help the symptoms and clear out the offending bacteria. Alternative medicine for SIBO Alternative Doc: Apex Energetics K-64 GI SYNERGY (a “natural” alternative to an antibiotic) Also worth a try is Allicin from garlic can be used as another natural antibiotic You can try Huperzine A this helps to move the bowels, it is an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor. This what I talked about in my blog article “Why does coffee make me poop?” and can help your memory. You and SIBO You should do: LOW FODMAP Diet is the best for you since bacteria feed on sugars and carbohydrates. Make sure you are pooping, at home you can help to stimulate gut movement via the Vagus Nerve. To help this brain & gut connection try these: Chewing gum Singing loudly Press on the back of your tongue when brushing and gag a bit Gargle water hard These are tips from Dr. Kharrazian book Why is my brain not working?

Is The Stool Test Key To Determing Levels of Good Bacteria?

04:15
Greetings. Eric Bakker, naturopath. Thanks for coming back. We're still talking about stool testing. The question now is: Is the comprehensive stool analysis, is it a key to determining the levels of good bacteria? Or are there other alternative tests available? Well, there are a lot of different tests you can do, but the comprehensive stool analysis is the best test, and I'll explain to you why it's the best. The other test you can do for the determination of bacteria in your digestive system is a breath test. There are other kinds of tests, which are more complicated and more expensive, which can be performed under surgery. For example, biopsies could be taken, but I believe that the comprehensive stool analysis is the least invasive, most comprehensive test that you'll ever do for the gut. And it's the test that you want to do if you want to determine not just the bacteria, but as I mentioned before, it also will determine parasites, yeasts, it will determine good bacteria like Lactobacillus, and Bifidus bacteria, and E. coli. It will determine imbalanced bacteria, or potentially dysbiotic bacteria, and there's a whole raft of those. So these are potentially good bacteria that are turning bad, just like some people. You've got good people in society and they turn bad, and some people turn really ugly, really bad. You know? And some people are like parasites, aren't they? They just suck the blood out of you, basically. So we don't want parasites in the gut, because they perform no useful function. We want bacteria like we want good people out there in society. We want good bacteria in our gut, because the good tend to overpower and keep the bad guys in check. So the great thing about the stool test is it shows you the balance of the bacteria, and it also quantifies. It gives you a number, like a count. So if we, for example, determine you've got Lactobacillus in your tummy, we want to work out: Have you got one plus, two plus, three plus, or four plus? Have you got the full house? Are all the aces there when you're playing poker? Or you only got one ace in your hand, you know? How strong is your deck? And you'll determine that with a stool test, but you won't determine that with a breath test. The breath test doesn't quantify the bacteria. It just shows you the presence of bacteria that create certain types of gases. So it won't even name the bacteria or quantify them, but for example, the two main gases we look for with small intestinal bacterial overgrowth are methane and hydrogen. And those gases can be produced in abundance with certain types of bacteria, so if we get a big hydrogen spike on a test, we know, for example, you've got bacteria that are prone to producing that gas, but we don't know what their species are or their count. The stool test, however, will reveal all. It will show you what type of bacteria, and how much are there, but the stool test shows you a lot more than that. If you want to know more, look at some of my other videos on stool testing. You're going to be looking at inflammatory markers. You're going to be looking at immunological markers. You're going to be looking at digestive parameters. You're going to be looking at the short chain fatty acid panel, which is basically going to show you how healthy the large intestine is in particular. So the sheer breadth and amount of information you get is quite staggering with a comprehensive stool analysis. And that report, in the hands of an experienced clinician, can give you more information than you probably ever though you would get from the gut. So if you've had a digestive problem for a long time, and you really want to find out what the heck is wrong with your tummy, and you're sick of going to doctor, to doctor, to doctor, with everybody giving you antibiotics, or happy pills, or sleeping pills, or naturopathic pills, or whatever pills they give you, if you're sick to the back teeth of that and you're getting no answers, you need to do the stool test. All right? It's so important to do it, to finally discover what's going on in your tummy. So remember, the comprehensive stool analysis is the key to determining not just bacteria, but a whole range of different types of things that we're going to uncover that can help you uncover your health problem that might have been puzzling you for years. Think about it. Thanks for tuning in, and thanks for asking me these questions that I can give replies to.

A nurse said to give my 10 month old miralax to help her constipation. Is that safe?

01:39
You mentioned that you have a little ten-month-old who's had chronic constipation issues and the doctor's office recommended Miralax. Miralax is a very normal treatment option for chronic constipation and studies have shown that it's actually 95% effective. It's used in infants all the way up to adults. There have been a lot of studies to test the safety of Miralax on children that are less than 24 months. In all the studies that have been done so far, there are no adverse effects reported, meaning that Miralax has been proven to be safe. If you have any questions about it, don't hesitate to ask your baby's pediatrician about it. In addition to medication, there are other things you can do to help with chronic constipation. Make sure that your baby is well hydrated. A sign of hydration is that she's having at least six wet diapers a day and she should either be drinking formula or breast milk until she's a year of age. Most babies between 8-12 months of age are drinking a bottle or nursing 4-6 times a day. After a solid feeding at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and then snacks in the morning and afternoon, and then before bedtime. So that's typical for a baby her age. You can also increase the fiber intake of her diet by feeding her high-fiber foods. If you have more specific questions about the constipation, again, don't hesitate to talk with your doctor. But if you have any other questions for me in the future, feel free to ask them on our Facebook page at facebook.com/intermountainmoms and recommend us to your friends and family, too.

Lactose Intolerance Test Or How To Find Out Food Sensitivities

03:54
A Hydrogen Breath Test or do it my way! Do you need a test to see if you are lactose intolerant!? Or, can you just give up the dairy and see how your body digests the other substances? I gave up the dairy and my body is digesting things just fine! There are common food sensitivities to things like soy, corn products and lactose. I have been having symptoms that I didn't used to have! Bloating, gas and my food just didn't digest the way it used to. Finally I gave up milk products and it took a few weeks to a month for my body to begin to digest the way it used to. Possibly a cleans is in order. I'm using some food grade diatomaceous earth in water in the mornings, and then clear water through the day. In the later day I resume some epsom salts in my water, which I have every day, to keep my heart beat regular and to keep restless leg syndrome away! ~~~Nancy www.yourhealthandtechfriend.org/ Related article: Related video: A product for you to see! lactose intolerance, hydrogen breath test, symptoms of gas bloating, bad digestion, lactose intolerance, food sensitivities, nancy gurish, nancygurish, your health and tech friend, yourhealthandtechfriend,a cosmetologist who is interested in staying healthy through natural means,

Eczema Cream Can Reduce the Inflammation

01:22
http://www.VanishEczema.net In this video, I am going to give you a tip for how to get rid of eczema the natural way. This is for people seeking a natural eczema treatment. The medical profession will almost always point you in the direction of pharmaceuticals or smelly creams. However, unless your eczema has become very severe, there is no need to resort to potentially dangerous chemical drugs. If you are an eczema sufferer who does not have a particularly serious condition, it is possible that you can minimize the effects of eczema to an acceptable level with some practical home-based treatments. Given that eczema is a condition that is characterized by dry skin, it is logical that anything that reduces your dry skin is an effective way of dealing with your problem. For this reason, you should always bathe for as short a time as possible, while also reducing the amount of soap that you use during the bathing process. It will probably be more effective to use a natural moisturizing oil like tea tree oil in your bath because this will help to keep your skin moist and supple. Once you get out of the bath, it is essential that you try to retain as much moisture in your skin as possible, applying natural moisturizers such as olive or tea tree oil to all the dry areas of your skin. Try to do this within three minutes of getting out of your bath, because by doing so, you ensure that you are applying moisturizer to skin that is still moist and therefore flexible. The primary advantages of using either olive or tea tree oil as a moisturizer is that both of these substances are easy to get hold of. As with all aspects of dealing with eczema, while these particular moisturizers are highly effective for most people, they may not work for you. Consequently, you might like to consider some alternative moisturizers made from completely natural substances. I hope you found this little tip helpful. I have many other remedies for eczema that are all natural and safe for your body. They will allow you to take this even further, and get faster results. The link in the description will tell you all about how to speed up the process of beating eczema naturally. For those wanting to learn how to get rid of eczema, this is a perfect eczema treatment.

Stomach bacteria: Titanium micromotors deliver antibiotic without proton pump inhibitors - TomoNews

01:25
SAN DIEGO — Researchers at the University of California San Diego have developed micromotors loaded with antibiotics that can treat stomach infections without the use of proton pump inhibitors, a substance used to suppress gastric acid production. Drugs used to treat bacterial infections and other diseases in the stomach are normally taken with proton pump inhibitors. However, the substance can cause adverse side effects such as diarrhea and fatigue or even depression when taken over longer period of in high doses. "It's a one-step treatment with these micromotors, combining acid neutralization with therapeutic action," said Berta Esteban-Fernández de Ávila, a postdoctoral scholar at UC San Diego and a co-first author of the study. According to the study, each micromotor has a magnesium core coated with a layer of titanium dioxide, antibiotic and an outer layer of chitosan, which is a polymer that enables the motors to stick to the stomach wall. The size of each micromotor is about half the width of human hair. Once inside the stomach, the magnesium core reacts with gastric acid which generates a stream of hydrogen microbubbles. The microbubbles propel the vehicles inside the stomach, as well as temporarily increase the pH level to a desired level to release the cargo of antibiotics. The micromotors can be dissolved by gastric acid without leaving harmful residues. The study was published in the journal Nature Communications. ------------------------------------------------------------- Go to https://www.patreon.com/tomonews and become a Patron now TomoNews is now on Patreon and we've got some cool perks for our hardcore fans. With both camps citing conflicting studies, the truth about dairy is confusing to say the least. In today's society, these factors are often unavoidable in our lives, and leaky gut is becoming more problematic. Establishing what foods irritate the gut is important to personalizing a diet. Keep a food journal that notes daily meals and any symptoms, such as bloating and fatigue. Remove common problem ingredients one at a time for two weeks, and then reintroduce them back into your diet and note any changes. Dairy, gluten, soy, and sugar are four top culprits that irritate the lining and should be initially removed individually. Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and NSAIDs (ibuprophen, Advil, etc) when first determining irritants. Overtime, alcohol and caffeine may be consumed in small quantities, and NSAIDs taken sparingly, depending on the individual. Ensure that there is no candida overgrowth, parasites, or other microorganisms in the body, as any of these conditions will prevent the gut from healing itself. Any flavorings, artificial and natural, come from unknown sources that may irritate the gut. They, along with processed foods and artificial sweeteners, should be completely avoided. Any leaky gut diet will benefit from homemade, whole foods. Not only are whole foods rich in vitamins and minerals, but they contain natural enzymes to help the body break down nutrients. Include high-fiber and essential fatty acids (EFAs). Nuts cover both fiber and EFAs. Unprocessed oils, such as olive, coconut, and flax have EFAs, while legumes, berries, and vegetables such as sweet potatoes (yams) are rich in fiber. However, everyone is different: those with autoimmune diseases may want to avoid nuts and seeds, while grains and legumes may worsen symptoms for some. Many leaky gut patients are deficient in vitamins and minerals, and the following supplements can reestablish a healthy body: • Whole-food multivitamins will help fill in nutritional gaps. Avoid as many USP–synthetic–derived vitamins as possible. • Glutamine, an amino acid which supports healthy immune and digestive function, will feed cells that makeup the small intestinal lining. • Probiotics will colonize healthy bacteria in the gut and ensure proper function as the leaks are repaired. Individuals may notice that if they take probiotics, particularly acidophilus, they may become bloated, develop rashes, or feel sick. Not only are these symptoms of leaky gut, but the person may wish to wait on adding probiotics into their daily regimen until they have found food irritants and have been dieting well for at least a couple of weeks. Stress should be kept under control to help the body digest food and heal. Even one minute of meditation can calm your mind and relax your body. After irritant foods are found and a good diet is maintained, most people notice leaky gut improvement after six weeks, however several months may be needed for some.
