How to Naturally Heal Conjuctivitis in Cats

01:58
This video documents the full restoration of a cat's health. It is not intended to provide medical advice. I sought veterinary advice as to what an orthodox approach might be. I did not want to pursue it as I knew it would only kill much of the friendly digestive flora he needs to digest and utilize nutrients from his food and would cover up the symptoms and drive the infection deeper into his body. So in the future when it returned, it would be even worse. The diagnosis was conjunctivitis caused by a respiratory infection. Based on this information, I designed a program to help the cat fully restore it's health using fasting on chicken broth, a quality diet and eye washes/ eye drops made out of homemade saline solution and herbs (Goldenseal and Eyebright) and a diluted raw garlic "condiment" I made and added to his food. The fasting helped to preserve as much of his energy as possible. It gave his stomach a rest from the work ordinarily required to digest food which is as much as 80 percent! Instead, the energy could be used for healing. So for two days he ate as much home prepared high calcium chicken broth as he wanted 3 or 4 times a day . Then I eased him on to a raw diet alternating with a quality canned food. The eyewash treatments and cleaning away the discharge were necessary 3-4x per day in the beginning. It was encouraging to see the discharge go from yellow and green to a darker brown color indicating the infection was lessening in severity. After a plateau was reached, I began adding to his food 1/16 of a teaspoon of "Raw Garlic Condiment" as per THE NATURAL CAT by Anitra Frazier which dramatically sped up the healing process by reducing inflammation and swelling in the eyes. The recipe is as follows: 1 Tablespoon filtered water; 1/4 t. pressed garlic clove; 1/8 t. combine.Store in a glass container in the fridge for several days. For eye washes make a saline solution from 1/8 t. sea salt added to 1/2 cup boiling water. Cool to room temperature before using. To administer, place the cat on the table or on a chair in front of you facing away from you Saturate part of a cotton ball with the solution. Lift the cat's jaw up and back so he is looking at the ceiling with one hand. With the other hand take the small piece of cotton ball you have saturated in the solution before hand between your thumb and forefinger and squeeze out the drops into the cat's eye at the corner near his nose. If the cat swallows afterwards, some of it got in. Congratulations. To make a Goldenseal solution add two drops of Goldenseal tincture to 1 T. saline solution. Or for an Eyebright solution, do the same with Eyebright in place of Goldenseal.. A great on-line reference I often use for health care using medicinal herbs is HerbalLegacy.com which contains all of the famous Dr. John Christopher's herbal formulas and notes. Looking back if the garlic had been introduced the third week rather than the third month, he probably would have healed 3x faster. After the garlic was added it was less than two weeks before his eyes were fully healed. (But I listened to the naysayers initially who said garlic was "bad for cats" for a long time and shouldn't have.)

How To Treat Cat Eye Infection

03:55
Eye health is important to the overall health of cats and should be assessed by cat owners on a regular basis. Knowing what to look for and how to act if you suspect an infection is important to preventing long-term problems with your cat's eyes. Early detection allows you to decide if you can manage the problem at home or if a trip to the vet is essential. If in doubt, always seek professional advice because some problems can be dangerous and could potentially cause a loss of vision or an eye. Welcome to Pets and Animals YouTube Channel. Apple Cider Vinegar can heal your dog or cat

04:45
Apple cider vinegar saved my pet, Sasha. This simple home remedy does wonders for cats and dogs. It cures stomach problems including runny stool, vomiting and urinary tract infections common among house pets. It also curbs those pesky hair balls and unnecessary vomiting. It does wonders with their immune system and their respiratory system, and aids their digestive track. It's also good for urinary tract infections or prevents crystals from forming in the urine, and it gets rid of those brown tear stains. In fact, it helped my cat who was near death get back on track. I really love this stuff. Less is more so please don't give your cat more than a recommended dose of 1/4 tsp diluted in 8 ozs. of water. They trust you, so don't hurt them. My cat, Sasha, had been sick for 3 weeks straight before I stumbled on this information. It really, really works. I thank God for it because I'm not sure if my cat would have survived. He lost a lot of weight while he was sick. He weighs 20 pounds and it was noticeable. Now, he's gained 80 percent of his weight back and he's not sick anymore. He got sick because I changed to high quality cat food, but he was too old to adjust to the change, so I had to switch him back. He is happy as a little clam now. He's birthday is in December. He will be 15 years old -- that's a major milestone for any cat. Sasha has since gone on to heaven, but he was 17 years old when he passed, and he had a fabulous quality of life before he passed. So, I could be the poster child for this stuff. What is the BEST NATURAL FLEA TREATMENT for Dogs & Cats

10:09
https://www.epicnaturalhealth.com/what-is-the-best-natural-flea-treatment-for-my-cat-or-dog/ What is the best natural flea treatment for dogs & Cats flea's bite will cause painful, itchy irritation in dogs and cats and people are not immune to flea bites as well. Fleas (like bedbugs) can reproduce pretty quickly, making your home quite uncomfortable. Most people want to Get rid of fleas as quickly as possible will ensure they don't spread from your pet (or yard) to people. The problem with many flea killers is that they contain nasty chemicals. commercial flea collars are often not popular especially when your kids and other family members play with the pet, they’re also being exposed to toxic pesticides and other chemicals. Here are some natural remedies to ensure that your pets, and your home, are itch-free! 1. Make your own non-toxic flea killer-with 1/2 cup of baking soda and 1/2 teaspoon of essential orange oil. Combine the oil and baking soda into a jar. Shake well to combine and then sprinkle your pet and rub the powder mixture into their skin. 2. make an anti flea shampoo - by using 1/2 cup of dog shampoo mixed with 1/2 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice and two cups of water. Wash your dog weekly to the kill the critters. Many natural flea sprays contain a citrus extract called D-limonene, which repels and kills these biting bugs. PUBLIC DOMAIN 3. Keep fleas away from your yard with landscaping The easiest way to get rid of fleas is to not get them in the first place. Deter fleas (and other annoying bugs) by choosing your landscaping wisely. Planting lemon balm, sage, catnip, mint, basil, and lemongrass throughout your garden and keeping pots of the same herbs near outside living areas. . Make your own flea color Keep your pup safe while he plays in the backyard by making your own flea collar from a bandana. Mix 3 to 5 drops of lavender oil with 1 to 3 tablespoons of water. Use an eye dropper to apply a few drops of the solution to the bandana and tie it loosely around your pet's neck Bathe Your Pets And Pet Bedding Each Week While bathing your pets may seem obvious, many people overlook the importance of proper pet hygiene to keep fleas and ticks at bay. Fleas are less attracted to clean pets, which is another reason why frequent bathing of your dog and cat is so important. Use a natural shampoo or peppermint shampoo, and add 2 cups of apple cider vinegar to the warm bath water, which will provide even more flea protection. And don’t neglect to clean your pets’ bedding! Washing their bedding regularly in hot water with a mild detergent will eliminate flea eggs and larvae. Use a Flea Comb Each Day Using a fine flea comb not only helps to prevent flea infestation, but also removes existing pests. Dead pet hair lands on mats, which provide the perfect hiding spot for ticks and a lush breeding ground for fleas. For the best results, comb your furry friends’ stomach, tail and face, which is where pests typically hang out in the largest numbers. Combing also provides you with the ability to find and remove any recent ticks Apple Cider Vinegar Flea Deterrents Another wonderful do-it-yourself natural flea repellent spray is made with apple cider vinegar which I mentioned earlier. It’s easy to prepare and poses no risk to your pets’ health. Simply mix equal parts apple cider vinegar and water. Add the mixture to a spray bottle and frequently spritz it on your dog or cat pet. It’s recommended that you also spray the mixture on their bedding. You can make this apple cider spray even more powerful by adding a few drops of essential oils that are distasteful to fleas, such as lemongrass, neem and catnip oil. The Flea-Busting Power of Coconut Oil Why is coconut oil such an effective flea repellent? It’s packed with lauric acid, which is coconut oil’s “secret ingredient” that deters both fleas and ticks. It’s also great for providing your cat or dog with healthy skin and coat! If your pet already has fleas, you can dip your hands in coconut oil and massage them deep into your pet’s coat, working all the way down to the skin. Next, take a fine flea comb and comb it through the fur. The coconut oil will cause the fleas to stick to the comb, and the rest will be repelled by the coconut oil and jump off! Brewer’s Yeast Both fleas and ticks have an aversion to the vitamin thiamine, which is abundant in brewer’s yeast. Thiamine is a member of the B vitamin group, and is a non-toxic way to repel fleas and ticks, and also boost your cat or dog’s immune system. How does it work? When your pet consumes brewer’s yeast, it ingests thiamine and later exudes it through its skin. Fleas are repelled by the taste and odor. Use 1mg per 5 lbs. of body weight in your pet’s food. You can also help keep fleas away from your dog or cat by rubbing brewer's ye Diatomaceous Earth is another popular natural flue treatment https://www.epicnaturalhealth.com/what-is-the-best-natural-flea-treatment-for-my-cat-or-dog/

How To Diagnose And Treat Bulging Eye In Cats

06:03
A bulging or swollen eye in cats can have a variety of immediate and long-term causes, but it is important to seek immediate veterinary care for your cat if you notice a bulging eye. Your cat’s veterinarian will examine the cat for signs of traumatic injury, foreign bodies, or infection. Bring the cat to the vet for diagnostic tests and treatment as soon as possible. Antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, and corticosteroid eye drops can treat a bulging eye caused by infection. Surgery might be required to repair cases of traumatic injury or to correct congenital defects. For chronic, or long-term, conditions, consult the vet about the best disease management options. How to clean your cat's eyes | Tear stain remover for cats and kittens | Pet Care Corner

07:29
Taking care of flat-faced cats or kittens can be a little tough as you always need to clean their eyes. Even if they don't have eye infections, they would regularly have eye discharge and you might find them sometimes with eyes shut especially when they are younger. In this video, I'm going to show you what I use for my kittens and cats whenever they have eye infections and how I clean their face to remove stains using a safe disinfectant that is cheap and effective. Gentadrops eye drops can be bought at https://www.facebook.com/mystic.cattery For the tear stain remover, you can mix your eye solution by getting borax powder here: http://ho.lazada.com.ph/SHNF2E?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.lazada.com.ph%2Fcyleina-organic-borax-powder-8020942.html%3Fff%3D1%26offer_id%3D%7Boffer_id%7D%26affiliate_id%3D%7Baffiliate_id%7D%26offer_name%3D%7Boffer_name%7D%26affiliate_name%3D%7Baffiliate_name%7D%26transaction_id%3D%7Btransaction_id%7D http://ho.lazada.com.ph/SHNF2E?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.lazada.com.ph%2Fborax-all-purpose-environmentally-friendly-natural-cleaner-ampdeodorizer-250g-x-2-packs-12476728.html%3Fff%3D1%26offer_id%3D%7Boffer_id%7D%26affiliate_id%3D%7Baffiliate_id%7D%26offer_name%3D%7Boffer_name%7D%26affiliate_name%3D%7Baffiliate_name%7D%26transaction_id%3D%7Btransaction_id%7D Mix is 1 (borax) to 3 (water) boil the borax powder until there's no more solid particles and let it cool before applying on your cat's face to clean the stains. This can also be used to clean external parasites. Just spray it all over the body and you can be sure to see dead parasites if ever they are infested. If you are interested in available on of the kittens, please visit http://www.facebook.com/mystic.cattery Currently, there are four baby kittens available for me homes and they are all so lovely and pretty. Eye Infection and Ulcer in a Cat's Eye

Applying eye ointment to a cat's eye. Also valid for dogs and rabbits.

01:04
Treating conjunctivitis in a dog, cat or rabbit means giving eye ointment. It's not easy but everyone can learn. TRANSCRIPT: So putting eye medication into an eye. It's quite difficult. The best way to do it is not to put it directly on the eye but put it into a fold by pulling the lower eyelid down. Now this eye here we can pull the fold down but the best way is to put one finger above the eye to tension the upper eyelid a bit and then pull down and you make that nice little, you probably see that little red fold there, and holding the nozzle sideways we're going to squirt a blob across ways into that fold. So finger on the top, thumb pull down the fold until it rolls out and then blob like that into that fold, not directly on the eye. And then you rub the lower eyelid so it goes across the surface. He's been very good about that And he's done. The trick also is notice I used the nozzle sideways so I didn't poke directly on the eye if he jumps forward it won't hurt him if it's held sideways, but remember the trick: Perhaps I can't do it again. I think he's a bit tired of it now. Pull up the upper eyelid Roll down the lower eyelid and put it on that fold you just created there. Thank you.

How To Treat Feline Glaucoma

04:40
Glaucoma is a condition where the pressure within the eye, known as intraocular pressure or IOP, rises to damaging levels. The increased pressure compresses the optic nerve, which impairs vision and stretches and enlarges the eye. This is a painful condition that can be difficult to control, so early identification and treatment is essential if the cat's sight is to be saved. Glaucoma is incurable, but some of the pain and clinical signs may be relieved by the use of eyedrops containing dorzolamide and/or timolol, which reduce intraocular pressure, and steroids, which treat inflammation, if inflammation has caused the glaucoma. A cat has swollen conjunctiva in the left eye

04:06
Educate, Engage, Entertain. Is it possible to do all these 3 in veterinary practice? A swollen left eye in a domestic shorthair cat. EDUCATE. A thorough physical examination includes opening the eyelids, using a torchlight to check for foreign bodies and corneal ulcers. The 2nd part of the external eye examination should be the fluorescein eye stain test. This involved the use of fluorescein eye drops to confirm the absence or presence of ulcers as was done in this case (Educate). Green corneal surface indicates corneal injuries or abrasions. ENGAGE. The two lady owners used their smartphones' torchlight to shine onto the left eye (engage the customer). Explain the fluorescein eye stain test (educate the customer). The vet visit seemed enjoyable for the two ladies when one of the owner's smartphone's torchlight app malfunctioned (entertain the customer). The vet may use his own torchlight app to be efficient and productive, but there would be no "memorable torchlight malfunction" as in this case. I gave the cat an anti-inflammatory injection and he should recover the next day. E-collars to prevent eye rubbing are not practical in some cats and is not necessary in this case. Intern Clara Chua did an excellent videography by closing up the relevant area of examination of the cat in the Toa Payoh Vets' consultation room. This makes the video fun to watch rather than a boring documentary on "how to examine the injured eye of a cat". More vet educational videos are at www.toapayohvets.com/videos.htm

How To Treat Watery Eyes In Cats

07:43
Watery eyes in your cat are generally a symptom of another condition rather than a disease in itself. In other words, if your cat suddenly develops watery eyes, it's likely caused by something like an infection, allergies, or a scratch to the eye. If you notice any problems with your cat’s eye, see a veterinarian immediately to determine a course of treatment. Welcome to Pets and Animals YouTube Channel.
