Take Dr. Berg's Body Type Quiz: http://bit.ly/BodyTypeQuiz Dr. Eric Berg talks about Sugar and diabetes. Sugar increases insulin which lowers the sugar in the blood and puts it in storage as fat. Sugar stimulates hunger and you carve for more food. 40 % of all heart diseases are related to excess sugar. Keeping your blood sugar levels in control is a primary objective for a healthy body. The current recommendations for carbohydrates based on the American Diabetes Associations is 45-60 grams of carbohydrates PER MEAL!!!!! not per day, per meal. http://www.diabetes.org/food-and-fitn... blood sugar problems can be improved if the right foods are eaten, but overall sugars and carbs must be reduced. Eating SWEET POTATOES Good for DIABETICS? Can Sweet Potatoes Raise Diabetic Patients Glucose?

12:51
HOW/Are SWEET Potatoes GOOD for Diabetics? http://bit.ly/2zjSPM6 15 REASONS Why Sweet POTATOES Are Perfect for Diabetics. If you don't eat sweet potatoes very often, or only at holiday time when they're smothered in melted marshmallow goo and baked until they're unrecognizable, you're missing out on one of nature's truly perfect foods. They're low in calories http://bit.ly/2CxoCb2, high in fiber http://bit.ly/2BtqFhb, great for diabetics and people who are carbohydrate sensitive http://bit.ly/2kEuacD, and packed with vitamins and minerals. So good for you is the humble sweet potato that Nutrition Action Health Letter once rated it the number one healthiest vegetable. Because it's so delectable and versatile, the sweet potato is one of my favorite foods. It's too bad that many of us only eat sweet potatoes in dishes with a great deal of added sugar and fat. Not only are these preparations not very healthful, they often fail to show off the best qualities of this truly versatile vegetable. According to Janice Bohac, PhD, a research geneticist and sweet potato breeder at the USDA Agricultural Research Service's Vegetable Laboratory in Charleston, SC, sweet potatoes contain a high-quality protein, similar to that found in eggs, and are packed with nutrients, including high levels of carotenoids (especially beta-carotene), copper, vitamins C and E, and fiber. What's more, sweet potatoes are much lower on the glycemic index scale than white potatoes. That means that even carbohydrate-sensitive people and diabetics can include these good carbs in their diets. Dr. Bohac is discovering and developing new varieties of sweet potatoes that I hope will expand the limited choices now available to most of us. These range from very sweet, moist ones to drier, lighter-fleshed varieties that make excellent stand-ins for white potatoes."You can survive on sweet potatoes during periods of starvation," says Dr. Bohac. "They're a far more complete food than rice." Under a grant from the McKnight Foundation in Minnesota, Dr. Bohac is now working with researchers in Uganda to develop improved sweet potato varieties with more beta-carotene and resistance to devastating pests. Simply Delicious Recipes In general, bake moist, orange-fleshed varieties at about 400 degrees F for 40 to 50 minutes (prick first with a fork). They need no added sugar. Drier types can be microwaved for 5 to 10 minutes on high, depending on their size; prick with a fork before cooking. Or, cut them up, and pan-fry them in a little olive oil. Mashed sweets. You can roast or boil peeled sweet potatoes until they're tender, then mash them as you would white potatoes. Season with chopped garlic that you've sauteed quickly in a bit of olive oil. Roasted sweets. I peel and cube sweet potatoes, toss them in olive oil, salt, and pepper, spread them in a baking pan (don't crowd!), and roast them at 450 degrees F. Stir every 10 minutes until they're nicely browned. Bottom line: Eat sweet potatoes more often, and experiment with new ways of preparing them. sweet potato health benefits, how much sugar does a sweet potato have, sweet potato benefits, benefits of sweet potatoes, diabetic sweet potato recipes, best potatoes for diabetics, sweet potato diabetes cure, diabetes management, diabetic sweet potato casserole, diabetes cure, sweet potatoes for diabetics, diabetic diet, diabetes diet, sweet potatoes, type 2 diabetes, are sweet potatoes good for diabetics, health benefits of sweet potatoes, sweet potato, yams and diabetes, sweet potatoes for diabetics, diabetes, nutrition, health benefits, diabetic alternative., sweet potato benefits 😍😍😍😍😍 Like, Share and Subscribe Our Channel if you think these video is informative and helpful. Type 2 Diabetes Diet

06:14
Learn how to destroy diabetes: http://theictmstore.org When I recently read the American Diabetes Association's 2013 Standards of Medical Care for Type 2 Diabetes, I found many extremely alarming guidelines. Foremost is the complete over-reliance on the pharmaceutical management of diabetes and its complications, along with a complete absence of recommendations for use of critical nutritional support. The major shortcoming of pharmaceutical interventions in Type 2 diabetes is that they don't impact the progression of the disease, and in many cases actually accelerate the underlying disease process and increase mortality. Yet this approach is the only one offered by conventional medicine. The key issue that's not addressed by the ADA or other conventional medical groups dealing with diabetes is that drugs are only biochemical band-aids. There is one fundamental truth that is rarely explained to the patient: Type 2 diabetes in almost every case is a disease caused by diet and lifestyle. Findings from the U.S. government’s Third National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES III) clearly support this statement. Of individuals with type 2 diabetes, 69% did not exercise at all or did not engage in regular exercise; 62% ate fewer than five servings of fruits and vegetables per day; and 82% were either overweight or obese. Among patients with pre-diabetes, a minimum of 150 minutes a week of physical activity similar in intensity to brisk walking was associated with a 58% reduced risk of developing diabetes. This study, the Diabetes Prevention Program, also looked at early drug therapy with metformin as a possible prevention strategy. The metformin reduced the risk by 31%. In other words, walking was nearly twice as effective! Natural Approaches to Type 2 Diabetes Diet alone can often be effective as the sole factor in treating and reversing Type 2. Other lifestyle factors and supplements are important, but treatment of Type 2 begins with diet. There is considerable evidence from clinical trials that a diet low in refined carbohydrates is emerging as the most scientifically proven approach, especially when considering not only its effect on blood glucose levels, but also the effects it exerts in reducing the sequelae of diabetes, such as high cholesterol levels, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and other complications. The treatment of diabetes with natural medicine also involves trying to achieve ideal blood glucose control and metabolic targets, as well as reducing the risk of the complications of diabetes by focusing on the following four areas: Providing optimal nutrient status. Reducing after-meal elevations in blood glucose levels. Improving insulin function and sensitivity. Preventing nutritional and oxidative stress. One of the centerpiece supplements for Type 2 diabetes is highly viscous dietary fiber products. A good high-potency multiple vitamin and mineral formula is also a must and should provide 200 to 400 mcg of chromium – a key mineral in the proper utilization of insulin. Other considerations include: Alpha lipoic acid (400 to 600 mg), which not only helps improve insulin action, but also helps prevent and reverse diabetic nerve disease. Flavonoid-rich extracts like bilberry, grape seed, or pine bark, which are extremely important in protecting against the long-term complications of diabetes. Onions and garlic, which have demonstrated blood-sugar-lowering action in several studies and help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. The oral administration of mulberry extract, cinnamon extract, or extracts of Gymnema sylvestre, which have all been shown to produce very good results in improving blood sugar control. Before you swallow everything the American Diabetes Association recommends in terms of medications for your Type 2 diabetes, do yourself a favor and learn more about natural approaches that include a healthy diet, superfoods for diabetes, exercise, and nutritional supplements.

The citrate from potassium citrate helps to breakdown and prevent stones and in the case of uric acid - you need potassium citrate because it can alkalize an overly acid situation. This helps also in the transformation from glucose metabolism to fat (ketone) metabolism. B-vitamins - are also necessary - for this use nutritional yeast. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PJ3IPMI Vitamins - I recommend raw wheat grass juice powder (lemon) For those people who have insulin resistance or diabetes, I recommend Insulin & Glucose support. The ADA does not recommend a high carb diet, however, Dr. Berg talks about the worst advice for a diabetes. The treatment and solution continue and keep diabetes alive. The dietary recommendations from the ADA of 60% of your diet being carbohydrates keep the blood sugars high, which is the opposite thing you need to do. Then when a person takes medication, they have to prevent low blood sugars (hypoglycemia) by giving you sugar pills, which merely continues diabetes. Because high insulin also causes high blood pressure and high cholesterol, dieuretics and beta blockers are used both increasing the risk of insulin resistance not to mention taking statins, which also increase risk of diabetes, which then has a higher risk of causing heart disease. Diabetes is a disease of high sugar, so why would anyone want to increase the sugar or create insulin resistances that increases insulin. They’re telling you how to get diabetes—not avoid it. Everyone from the American Diabetes Assoc to the Food Pyramid. They’re all off. You cannot eat sugar to get rid of diabetes—no matter what they say!!! Let me tell you just how wrong the world and the very deadly cycle in conventional medicine that is causing not curing diabetes. 7 Recommended Supplements on a Keto and Intermittent Fasting Plan

Minerals 2. B1 (in conversion from sugar to fat burning) 3. B3 (to remove fat and cholesterol from the liver) 4. B5 (in the conversion from sugar to fat burning); helps in the keto adaption and prevent ketogenic fatigue, flu, and rash. 5. Vitamin A (improves insulin resistance) 6. Vitamin D (improves insulin resistance) 7. Choline - to help a fatty liver Virgin Cod Liver oil helps provide vitamin D and A equally. Nutritional Yeast provides B vitamins, Electrolyte Powder helps provide minerals. Hey guys, we are going to talk about the 7 recommended supplements on a Ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting plan. The first one I am going to recommend is minerals. You want to potassium, magnesium, sodium and calcium those were electrolytes, and then trace minerals. Because minerals helps reduce insulin resistance and it puts you into fat burning a lot better. Plus, these minerals are alkaline which offset some of the uric acid buildup that comes from the ketogenic diet to lessen the chance to get a gout or the uric acid kidney stones. Number 2 vitamin B1, this is essential in the adaptation of sugar burning into fat burning, and it is also great to relieve stress. Vitamin B3 is really good for lowering cholesterol that is coming out of the fat cells or liver and it is also good to support the liver in general. Vitamin B5 is another key B vitamin that is essential in the adaptation to fat burning. If you are deficient in B5 and B1, you may notice more fatigue, keto flu and keto rash, any of those symptoms. Number 5, vitamin A which is also essential in dealing with insulin resistance and you would get vitamin A in cod liver oil, grass-fed cheese, grass-fed liver and egg yolks. No. 6 vitamin D and I recommend vitamin D3 version, this is really good for insulin resistance and improving that. It is also in cod liver oil, egg yolk. In fact if you consume cod liver oil, you get a 50/50 split of vitamin A and vitamin D so you could kill 2 birds at 1 stone. No. 7 choline which is essential of getting the fat off the liver. I recommend doing electrolyte powder for the minerals. I recommend nutritional yeast for B1, B3, B5 and it even has choline. I have a version that has non-fortified, it is in a tablet form with added B12. You have electrolyte powder, nutritional yeast, and cod liver oil and if you really have fatty liver you could have choline in addition to the choline that is in nutritional yeast to strip off the fat from the liver. POTASSIUM: The MOST Important Electrolyte - MUST WATCH!

Your heart, your fluid, your energy, your nutrients in and out of the cell is dependent on the sodium and potassium pump. However, potassium is the most difficult to get from the diet. High levels of cortisol (stress), insulin, sugar, diuretics, excessive salt, surgery, all can deplete potassium. However, you need between 7-10 cups of salad or veggies to get your daily requirement of 4700mg. Hey guys, Dr. Berg here. I want to do a video on the most important electrolyte. Let me explain what an electrolyte is, if you ever take salt and put it in the water and dissolve it, the sodium and chloride disconnect and they become two separate minerals and that fluid is very electrically conductive. Basically electrolytes have to do with minerals that help conduct electricity in the body. They help with a lot of different things. As far as the electrolytes, it will be like potassium, sodium, magnesium, calcium, chlorides, and all those minerals. Potassium out of all the electrolytes is the one that we need in a very large quantities. Why is that? Why do we need potassium in a large amount? I am talking 4,700 mg to 6,000 mg every single day and that is equivalent to 7 to 10+ cups of salad or vegetables every single day. Let’s go dig further into exactly to why we need potassium. There are something in the body called sodium-potassium pump. It is built in a little protein connected to an enzyme, it forms a whole enzyme in the surface of your cells and you will have between 8,000 to 30million of this little tiny pumps and they are little generators that generate electricity to allow things to go through the cell so it take a lot of energy, in fact the energy of 1/3 of your diet goes to running those pumps. You also have another pump in the stomach called the hydrogen potassium ATPas, it is basically another pump that is built with a potassium that allows you to create stomach acid to help you digest. This pumps are also in the muscles, nervous systems and the pumps in the nervous system used about 60% of your body’s chloric intake of energy. In other words, these pumps are really critically important in exchanging nutrition, glucose, amino acids and other minerals to allow them to transport in other cell. Potassium is essential for building the pumps to allow these functions right here, they charge the cell electrically, so your cells have a certain voltage to allow things to work and go in and out of the cell to create different energy. In fact your energy that you have that controls your metabolism is controlled partly by these little pump. So it charges the cell electrically, it gives you energy. It helps the muscle contracts and relax because it allows calcium to go into the cell as well. It controls the transport of calcium. For more info: https://draxe.com/l-glutamine-benefits-side-effects-dosage/?utm_campaign=Youtube-Dec-2014&utm_medium=social&utm_source=youtube&utm_term=lglutamine In today’s video I’m going to talk about the benefits of L- glutamine powder. L-glutamine is an amino acid that has many benefits for the human body. Some of the many benefits of L-glutamine are assisting in burning fat, losing weight, gaining muscle, and repairing your gut. There are a lot of people who suffer from leaky gut, and the number one amino acid your gut needs to help heal and repair leaky gut is L-glutamine. To supplement, I recommend 2-5 grams twice daily. L-glutamine is great for people who want to avoid losing muscle and stay in shape, people with cancer who don’t want their muscle to waste away, and people who suffer with diseases such as IBS. For more on L-glutamine benefits, you can check out my article here: http://draxe.com/l-glutamine-benefits-side-effects-dosage/ *This content is strictly the opinion of Dr. Josh Axe, and is for informational and educational purposes only. Understanding the importance of Nutrition for Seniors
Nutrition & Aging | Aging Matters | NPT Reports

28:34
Of the diseases that can affect how we age, malnutrition is not an obvious one. However, researchers say more and more older adults are malnourished, including people who may look healthy or who may even be overweight. The documentary "Nutrition and Aging" examines the hidden epidemic of malnutrition and undernutrition among older adults in the United States. National reports consistently show that Tennessee is among the worst states when it comes to percentage of adults age 60 and older who face the threat of hunger or lack access to quality food, what is known as “food insecurity.” Aging presents other challenges to maintaining a balanced diet, including changes to how bodies process foods and nutrients, how our digestive system works, and how foods taste. Some older people develop difficulty swallowing; others are not able to shop for or prepare meals, while others find the cost of groceries to be a deterrent. The result of these numerous factors is that one in four older adults has some form of malnutrition. Learn more at: https://goo.gl/6iNMfV

Why Are Children Developing Diabetes at Such an Alarming Rate

03:21
Take Dr. Berg's Free Keto Mini-Course: http://pxlme.me/-i717vtY Dr. Berg talks about why children are getting diabetes at such an alarming rate. From 2000 to 2009, diabetes type 1 increased at 21%, and in type 2 increased 30%. This video is my opinion and meant to give the consumer new data to research and come up with their own conclusions about the cause and effect relationship between diabetes and it's cause. If someone tells you that this video is untrue and there is no possibility this could happen - simply ask them, "then causes diabetes 1 in children - why the sudden increase?" This is where it breaks down. They will tell you, we don't know. Then ask them, "then why are you so sure that there is no connection between vaccinations, GMO foods, etc. and diabetes - and see what they say. Our children have without a doubt experienced way more vaccinations and GMO foods than most parents ever had. What Causes Diabetes: 1. Vaccinations 2. Alloxan 3. Mother who has insulin resistance 4. Muscle matters: Dr Brendan Egan at TEDxUCD

13:58
Dr Brendan Egan is a University College Dublin (UCD) lecturer in sport and exercise science in the UCD School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Population Science, whose TEDxUCD 2014 talk is entitled 'Muscle Matters'. On the sporting front, Brendan has represented Co. Sligo in Gaelic football at Senior inter-county level since 2003. In his TEDxUCD 2014 talk Brendan explains the importance of maintaining muscle mass as we age. Modern science has led to automation which means that we are predisposed to being physically inactive and in his talk Brendan outlines the risks to our health of this development. Furthermore, better medicines are leading to greater longevity and as the global population is getting older, the long term impact on health care provision is a huge challenge to be addressed. Brendan in his talk focuses on Sarcopenia, a disease involving age related wasting of muscle, and talks about the connections with other diseases, including cancer and diabetes, and he encourages us to change our lifestyles now in order to keep our muscles strong as we age. Dr Brendan Egan is a lecturer in sport and exercise science in the UCD School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Population Science covering modules in sports nutrition, exercise prescription and molecular exercise physiology. His current research interests concern the nutritional enhancement of sports performance and the molecular regulation of skeletal muscle function and adaptation in exercise, health and disease. Brendan graduated with a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Limerick in 2003, before graduating from Loughborough University with distinction from the MSc in Sport and Exercise Nutrition programme. He returned to Ireland in late 2004 to commence doctoral studies under the supervision of Dr Donal O'Gorman at Dublin City University. The focus of this research was on skeletal muscle adaptation to exercise and in particular the continuity between acute molecular responses to individual bouts of exercise and the adaptations in skeletal muscle induced by exercise training. He was awarded his PhD in 2008, before moving on to the prestigious Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden. There he completed his post-doctoral training in Professor Juleen Zierath's Integrative Physiology group at the Department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery. Here his research, using animal and in-vitro cell systems, focused on the transcriptional regulation of skeletal muscle insulin resistance in Type 2 diabetes by small, non-coding RNAs. He joined the faculty at UCD in 2011. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. LIFE SAVING BODY TRANSFORMATION - A TRUE INSPIRATION

03:50
If you believe this story can inspire and help change someone's life, I encourage you to please SHARE it! This transformation is one of epic proportions and a life-saving change. This man, a single widowed father raising his three sons went through life never looking for glory or praise, always living in deep commitment and always providing for those dear and close. I decided to take him on as my "client" as I was concerned by the unhealthy physical and psychological trends that were occurring. Committing to a transformation requires reshaping your whole person. Not only are you bettering yourself when you decide to make these changes, but you are making a meaningful difference in the lives of those around you. Dino was a smoker for 30+ years and lost both his parents and wife at a very young age. Aside from all of the external stressors in his life; his health, or lack there of, was bringing him down. With extremely high blood pressure and cholesterol, weighing in at over 300 lbs, he was soon diagnosed with Type II Diabetes. The doctors were concerned and his family was distraught. Habits are hard to break and almost become unconscious thoughts based on previous experience. Engaging in an alternative behavior and developing self-discipline and self-awareness will assist in gaining the will power to overcome an unhealthy and dangerous habit. He once told me he was inspired by my own transformation, and was a follower and enormous supporter of Fusaro Fitness. He was ready to make a change and listened without hesitation. Taking the time to further understand nutrition, tracking macronutrients, and correct training and nutrition protocols he was on board. With no access to anything but a small gym at work, his lunch break soon became "gym time." Sacrifices had to be made, but with a goal and a vision in mind, no excuses were acceptable. Continuing to track his progress and focus on small improvements, he was dropping weight and seeing results. Him and I were both on the same level of understanding, where mediocrity was simply unacceptable. Everyone wants to achieve their dreams but unfortunately in this "success-driven" world, the vast majority of people aren't willing to put in the necessary work to attain greatness. Currently, at 54 years old he is weighing in at 180lbs down from over 300. His blood work is excellent and he is off many of his prescribed medications. He is also smoke free for years now. This was all done without surgery, special pills, powder or supplements. It was done with a combination of hard work, dedication and consistency. Remember that success will never come easily, nor will it come automatically. What separates the great from the rest is not just a reoccurring dream but how they deal with the inevitable difficulties in life. Let's stop throwing this phrase "I Can't" around, because what the majority of us mean is "I won't" or "I am too afraid to try." Repeating, "I can't" is a good way to reinforce that message in your mind and make you truly believe it. The use of this negative language can be self-prophesying and we can bypass that by putting positive affirmations into our mind. It is perfectly fine to not want to do something, but more important to acknowledge the fact that if you wanted to do something YOU CAN. By saying "I can't" we remove any responsibility and convince ourselves we are powerless, but saying "I won't" implies that if we wanted to we could, but we choose not to. 'Won't" is more empowering so when we realize we are not the victim and come to terms that we DO have control over our lives, we will feel a huge sense of relief. Remember, We Are Limitless! Potassium & Blood Pressure: MUST WATCH!

Become a Heath Coach: https://www.drberg.com/health-coach See if you qualify for a scholarship for our training: https://www.drberg.com/strategy-consult Take Dr. Berg's Advanced Evaluation Quiz: http://bit.ly/EvalQuiz Your report will then be sent via email analyzing 104 potential symptoms, giving you a much deeper insight into the cause-effect relationship of your body issues. It's free and very enlightening. Dr. Berg takes about the relationship between insulin resistance, potassium and blood pressure. Blood pressure is a potassium deficiency, not a a sodium excess. However, if someone has a problem with insulin, potassium is even more deficient. Potassium is controlled by insulin. When there is insulin resistance, potassium becomes deficient. By spiking potassium in a pre-diabetic or a diabetic state, the need for insulin can reduce. Insulin and Weight loss ➠ How to Control & Lower Insulin Resistance Levels Fat Loss Diabetes Leptin

08:31
Everything you need to know about Insulin and Weight Loss. In this video I reveal how to control and lower insulin resistance. Lower your insulin levels and battle diabetes with diet and exercise. 🔥 FREE 6 Week Challenge: https://gravitytransformation.com Fat Loss Calculator: http://gravitytransformation.com/macro-calculator/ Insulin and weight loss. What exactly makes these two so dependent on each other? If you dig through a little bit of fat loss research you'll see right away that insulin is very closely connected with burning fat and losing weight. In fact without reducing insulin there is almost no way we can burn a substantial amount of fat no matter how hard we exercise and diet. And even though most people have heard about insulin spikes not being good for weight loss the average person doesn't truly understand why. Well my hope is that today I can explain this in a way that anybody can understand. It all starts with you eating food. When you eat food the chewed up food particles get broken down further in your stomach into very small parts and then they pass through your intestines at which point your body absorbs and breaks down those nutrients and calories again and dumps them into your bloodstream. These broken down nutrients can't just jump into the cells that need them for their daily functions without some help. That's where insulin comes in. Insulin is a hormone secreted by your pancreas and it gets released into your bloodstream when your body senses that blood sugar has increased. Very high blood sugar levels are not good for you and your body knows this. So insulin acts as a bridge between your cells and the sugar found floating around in your blood. Without insulin your blood sugar would be very high because your body wouldn't be able to get that sugar into the cells. This is actually pretty much what type 2 diabetes is. When people are insulin resistant which means that insulin isn't doing its job they usually wind up being labeled as a type 2 diabetic which means that they need an external source of insulin for example either a shot or a pill to get their blood sugar down. So what does all of this have to do with fat loss and weight loss. Well whether you eat pasta brown rice or drink a can of soda all of it will eventually be broken down and it will be blood sugar floating around in your bloodstream. The only difference is that whole high-fiber carbs like brown rice will take a lot longer to digest which means that the sugar will be released into your bloodstream slowly while the can of soda will pretty much be released all at once. When it's released into your bloodstream slowly you give your body a chance to actually use it overtime so you won't require quite as much insulin which leads to less of it being stored as fat. Before insulin starts storing blood glucose into fat cells it will first store as much of it as possible into your liver for later use. The liver can only hold a limited amount of blood sugar and then the excess starts to get dumped off into your muscle cells. Now your muscle cells can hold more of this glucose then your liver can however it also has its limit. By building more muscle you're going to be able to increase this limit and use more of the blood sugar for your muscles rather than storing it as fat, however again even the most muscular person on the planet is going to have a limit of how much of this blood glucose can actually be used by the muscles. Once that limit is reached we hit a point called spillover where the sugar that came from mostly carbohydrates in your diet will begin to be stored in fat cells in order to lower the sugar found in your blood stream to normal levels. So insulin is an anabolic hormone that causes weight gain and growth. The opposite hormone to insulin is a catabolic hormone known as glucagon which is released when blood sugar drops too low. Glucagon just like insulin goes in and acts as a bridge between the stored energy in your cells and your bloodstream. Except it has the inverse effect. So it pulls energy from your cells and dumps it into the bloodstream. Before your body will start pulling fat from fat cells for energy it will first pull that stored glucose from your liver and your muscle cells. This is why so many low carb diets work. When you don't have that many carbs it's easy for your body to use up the carbs stored in your muscles and your liver and then proceed straight to burning fat for energy. This is the same reason why ketogenic diets work. Except an added benefit to ketogenic diets is that your body becomes more efficient at using fat for energy which means more fat will burnt.

diabetes click website : http://diabetescure30day.pagedemo.co/ dietitian diabetes treatment at home in 30 days diet instructions Treatment of diabetes at home quickly and efficiently Diabetes means your blood glucose, or blood sugar, levels are too high. If you can't control your diabetes with wise food choices and physical activity, you may need diabetes medicines. The kind of medicine you take depends on your type of diabetes, your schedule, and your other health conditions. With type 1 diabetes, your pancreas does not make insulin. Insulin is a hormone that helps glucose get into your cells to give them energy. Without insulin, too much glucose stays in your blood. If you have type 1 diabetes, you will need to take insulin. Type 2 diabetes, the most common type, can start when the body doesn't use insulin as it should. If your body can't keep up with the need for insulin, you may need to take pills. Along with meal planning and physical activity, diabetes pills help people with type 2 diabetes or gestational diabetes keep their blood glucose levels on target. Several kinds of pills are available. Each works in a different way. Many people take two or three kinds of pills. Some people take combination pills. Combination pills contain two kinds of diabetes medicine in one tablet. Dietary Supplements Video – Brigham and Women’s Hospital

03:34
JoAnn Manson, MD, DrPH, Chief, Division of Preventive Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, discusses the need for dietary supplements. The main purpose of dietary supplements is to treat deficiencies of vitamins and minerals or to prevent such deficiencies. For people who are concerned that they may not have an adequate diet, it's very reasonable to take a multivitamin or to take relatively low doses of different nutrients. Megadose supplementation, very high dose supplementation of any vitamin, mineral, or other nutrient, is not recommended due to the health risks. Groups that will benefit from dietary supplementation include women of reproductive age and pregnant women. Folic acid is extremely important in preventing neural tube defects and other birth defects so these groups should be encouraged to take a supplement of a folic acid. Also, calcium and vitamin D supplementation may be helpful for bone health, especially in older individuals who are at higher risk of osteoporosis and osteoporotic fracture or people who have lactose intolerance and tend to get very low intake of calcium or vitamin D-fortified foods. There are also some individuals, especially older people, who may have deficiencies of vitamin B-12 and could benefit from supplementation. It’s important to select a high quality supplement. There are a couple of things that will indicate whether a supplement has a high level of quality control. One is looking for the GMP label which stands for Good Manufacturing Practices. The other is USP, which stands for United States Pharmacopeial Convention. These labels will indicate that the supplement has been certified in some way in terms of quality control, that it has gone through a certain audit in terms of the good manufacturing practices, and that it's been tested for contents and for quality control. It’s recommended you speak with your physician before taking any dietary supplement.
