This video has some examples of different visuals you could use to help explain the plan of salvation to investigators. Some of these visuals include: drawing it out on paper or a dry erase pad and using wood or cutout visuals. This video also shows how to use each of the different visuals to help your investigators learn (for example, mixing up the cut-outs and having the investigator put them back together after explaining it to them). Life is hard. Teaching youth and adults to keep their heads up despite adversity can be hard too. This simple object lesson is an easy illustration of how to see yourself as our Father in Heaven sees you. This video demonstrates and idea I mentioned in my podcast with Kurt Francom from Leading LDS. This is a GREAT object lesson that I borrowed from Bro. Jason Bohannon. It is about the plan of salvation, repentance, baptism in Jesus name and being filled with the Holy Ghost. The full article for this lesson and many other object lessons and resources for Apostolics can be found at www.apostolicsundayschool.com.

This is a simple paper tear object lesson that shares the basics of the gospel. One thing I like about this routine is that every time you perform it, you are teaching your audience to be able to use it, too. This is not original with me. In fact, I'm sure the basic tear is older than I am. There are a lot of variations on it. If I recall correctly, I was shown this basic routine by Doc Haley in a lecture back in the '80's. http://www.BradBrownMagic.com http://facebook.com/bradbrownmagic

The penny represents us. The red water (cause it's the only food coloring we had) covering the penny represents our sins and how we can be covered in sins. The candle represents Jesus (I'm going to get a white one before Sunday). The light represents the life of Christ. Within a few seconds, the flame will consume all the oxygen in the glass and be extinguished. It creates a vacuum that draws the water up inside the glass. On the cross Jesus gave up his life (the flame went out) so that he could take our sins on Himself and we could be free.

As part of our efforts to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the youth of our Mormon congregation had fun putting together a short message of what we believe as Mormons. As stated by the Apostle Paul in 1st Corinthians "They that Preach the gospel, Live the Gospel; so Run that ye may obtain." #PreachLiveRun

Faith is something we've all probably taught on before but likely, with not a ton of success. AKA: The kids only half pay attention. Take the idea I mention here and give it a whirl. I think you'll love the results. For more of this ridiculousness click here: http://betterbibleteachers.com/2014/11/how-to-explain-faith-to-sunday-school-kids/

Which road are you on today? The Bible speaks about two roads, the broad way and the narrow way in Mathew 7: 13-14. The Bible says most people will choose the broad way. The broad way leads to destruction. We know based on the Bible that if we choose the broad way it will take us to hell. The Bible says so in Revelation 21:8. The Bible says because of man's sin we cannot go to heaven. Romans 3:23 says all men are sinners. Because of that sin it must be paid for. Romans 5:12 tells us where that sin came from. Sin is bad things we do, etc. lying, stealing, cheating, cursing, killing, disobeying our parents, thinking bad things. we could go on and on. The Bible says we do these things because we are a sinner. Everyone of us have sin and are born into sin. Because there's no sin in heaven we can't go there if we have sin in our heart. If God made an exception we would be bringing sin into heaven and that's just not going to happen. One of the great things besides Jesus Christ being there, is there's no sin ever in heaven. Its perfect. The devil will lie to you and try to make you think there's another way to heaven other than what the Bible tells us. He does this because he hates you and wants you to go to hell. Don't listen to the lies of satan because he's not your friend. He is definitely your enemy. The Bible tells us in John 3:16 that God loves us and wants us to go to heaven. That's why he sent Jesus down from heaven to die on the cross for our sin. He didn't die for his sin. He died for ours. Jesus is perfect and has no sin. He didn't stay dead tho. The Bible tells us after 3 days he rose again. Jesus loves you so much he was willing to lay down his life for your sin so you could go to heaven. He doesn't want you to die and go to hell. There is a real hell, just like there's a real heaven. The Bible says in Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the Lord shall be save. That means if you realize you are a sinner and ask Jesus to come in your heart and take away your sin the Bible says he will! That's the greatest news ever given. The greatest gift ever given is Jesus! He is God's Son. There's no other way to heaven apart from him. If there had been, he wouldn't have died for us. There's not, so don't be fooled in believing you can go to heaven by being a good person. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. You can never be good enough to wipe away your sin. You can't go to church enough to wipe it away. You can't be baptized and wash away your sin. You could be baptized a hundred times and still die with the sin in your heart. If baptism could wash away your sin, Jesus wouldn't have died for your sin, he would've just said be baptized. That's a lie from the devil and a trick! Baptism is what we do to show Jesus lives in our heart. It is to be done only after asking Jesus to take away our sin, never instead of. Romans 10:9 tells us how to be saved is to simply ask Jesus to forgive us of our sin and take us to heaven. The moment you do, he will live in your heart forever and you can know you have heaven as your home. The Bible says in John 3:36 says, He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life: but the wrath of God abideth on him. I would encourage you right now to simply pray and tell Jesus you know you are a sinner and you are sorry for your sin. Ask him to come into your heart and take you to heaven. When Jesus comes in he will never leave you or forsake you. If you live to be a hundred years old he will still be with you and when you die you can know you're going to heaven.

http://www.ifindsermons.com Object lesson using books or albums to show that when you try to build a staircase to heaven with your own good works it will collapse. So the only way to get to heaven is by God's grace through faith in Jesus. Ephesians 2:8 For it is by God's grace that you have been saved through faith. It is not the result of your own efforts, but God's gift, so that no one can boast about it. (TEV)

Here's a simple game that you can use when you teach a lesson that includes the topic of 'SIN'. It can be used when teaching a number of Bible stories. All you need is a target and some feather darts. I learned this game idea from Christian Education Publications (CEP) Connect. Check out the CEP website here: https://www.cepstore.com.au. Music: 'Once we were dead in sin' written, arranged and produced by Bruce Wheatley. For more games ideas check out this games playlist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtpKcnhUbR4&list=PLvEb8AA7B8J-jzgtbdMeGFMvnP_zE6ss2 For more object lesson ideas, check out this playlist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GG6GBhLRRwE&list=PLvEb8AA7B8J_lGuRWrGM3HxqaoFiTHb49 For many more free ministry ideas, subscribe to my channel. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJtwux8JyjcqxlUvGRpQhCw #childrensministry #kidmin #christianeducation #whatissin #objectlessonforkids #sundayschoolideas #gameideasforkids I like to play the game at the beginning of the lesson, so I get a bunch of kids up the front and I challenge them to try to hit the bullseye every single time and get a perfect score. And it’s no easy feat as you can see. So I start with the game and then I go into the Bible story. It could be about Adam and Eve, it could be about Moses, it could be about Zaccheaus, it could be about the people of Israel. Any sort of Bible story. And then when you get into the topic of sin, I’ll say, Now, what did they do wrong that got God wasn’t happy with and we will talk about that. And then I’ll refer to the game. And say, Hey, did anyone get a perfect score of 7 and hit the target perfectly? No? Nobody did? Did you know that the Hebrew word for ‘sin’ actually means to miss the mark? To miss the bullseye. So in archery, when you miss that, it means you’ve sinned. It’s the same way in the Bible. And then I’ll ask the question, Did anyones dart not even hit the target and fall short? Yes, Did you know that in the Bible, it says, that “All of us have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory”. That means all of us are imperfect – none of us are perfect like God. Everyone does wrong things like, Lying, disobeying, hurting others and being selfish. And then I refer back to the bible story and we talk about that some more. And sometimes I like to give a little personal reflection. I might say something like this… You know, I know people who do not believe that they sin. They may something like, ‘Oh ya, that was just a mistake when I lied to the teacher. Oh, that was a mistake when I kicked that girl at playtime. Oh, that was just a mistake when I took that pencil’. And you know they may never see a need to believe in Jesus because they don’t feel like they need to be forgiven because they don’t see that they do anything wrong - They just make “mistakes”. But… for people like me, I know I do wrong, I know I am a sinner, I know I miss the mark and I’m not perfect. And you know what, I need forgiveness. I need forgiveness of the people I have wronged and I need forgiveness from God. And I am so glad that a Sunday school teacher told me many years ago when I was just 11, that Jesus came and that he died to pay for all the wrong things I would every say, that I would ever do and that I would ever think. All the times that I miss the mark. Jesus paid for that. And you know what, that’s really good news. The other thing is, by believing in Jesus I get something really special and that is the Holy Spirit. And the Holy Spirit is what helps me to choose to not do the things that are wrong, to choose to not sin but to choose things that are good and to choose things that are right. And you know what? That’s good news for sinners like me and there’s millions of us around the world who know that we are sinners and we need Jesus and we need God. I could then follow the lesson up by showing a clip from my playlist on the topic of sin. And if you liked this idea, can you give it a thumbs up and let me know? And if you would like more ideas or games ideas or object lessons you can check out my playlists there as well. Thanks again for watching! And may God bless you as you teach the next generation about Jesus.

Francis Chan teaches about the sinful condition of mankind, and God's willingness to punish sin in spite of His love for us. Doctrine Knowing the Truth and Acting On It What are the essential beliefs of Christianity? And how should a healthy understanding of doctrinal issues—like The Trinity, the Church, sin and salvation—impact the way we live and act toward God and others? We will all face times where our faith will be challenged either by other people or by difficult circumstances. That's why it's critical that we have a foundational knowledge of the core beliefs of Christianity and a willing heart to obey God. In these seven dynamic sessions, students share real-life stories about their own struggles with living out the essentials of their faith on a daily basis. And Francis Chan provides powerful teaching from Scripture and helps teens understand the core of our Christian faith. Francis Chan Bio: Francis Chan is the founder of Cornerstone Church in Simi Valley, where he served as the pastor for 16 years. Francis is a nationally recognized speaker focusing mostly on college-aged adults and pastors. He's committed to teach directly from the words of Scripture and is passionate about seeing the next generation of American Christians display a much deeper love for Jesus and their neighbors. In April 2010, Francis stepped down to pursue ministry that God laid on his heart and continues as a non-staff elder of the Cornerstone Church. He is the author of New York Times best-selling book, Crazy Love as well as Forgotten God and three children's books. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Master's College and a Master of Divinity degree from Master's Seminary. He is also the Founder of Eternity Bible College and serves on the board of directors for Children's Hunger Fund and World Impact. Francis lives in Northern California with his wife, Lisa, and their five children.
