Resistant starch is a type of starch that isn’t fully broken down and absorbed, but rather turned into short-chain fatty acids by intestinal bacteria. This may lead to some unique health benefits. You can get the most from resistant starch, by choosing whole, unprocessed sources of carbohydrates such as whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and beans/legumes. Not all resistant starches are the same. There are 4 different types. The classification is not that simple, though, as several different types of resistant starch can co-exist in the same food. Depending on how foods are prepared, the amount of resistant starch changes. For example, allowing a banana to ripen will degrade the resistant starches and turn them into regular starches. Resistant starch is associated with many of the health benefits attributed to dietary fiber, such as the reduction of type II diabetes risk, the production of short-chain fatty acid in the colon, the increase of calcium absorption and the reduction of inflammatory bowel disease. One of the main reasons why resistant starch improves health, is that it feeds the friendly bacteria in the intestine. Several studies show that soluble fiber supplements can contribute to weight loss, primarily by increasing feelings of fullness and reducing appetite. It looks like resistant starch has the same effect. Adding resistant starch to meals increases feelings of fullness and makes people eat fewer calories. A study was performed to Evaluate the resistant starch content of cooked beans. This study determined the changes in the amount and type of resistant starch in legumes over increasing amounts of cooking time in a high heat, high moisture environment. After an hour of cooking, pinto beans were found to be the best source of RS for all freshly cooked beans. A substantial percent increase in RS was found in beans allowed to cool for 24 h as a result of retrogradation. Both processed products contained more RS than their freshly cooked counterparts. In order to maximize dietary consumption of RS, a cooling period for cooked legumes is advisable. There are two ways to add resistant starches to your diet, either get them from foods, or supplement with them. Several commonly consumed foods are high in resistant starch. This includes raw potatoes, cooked and then cooled potatoes, green bananas, various legumes, cashews and raw oats. You can also add resistant starch to your diet without adding any digestible carbohydrates. For this purpose, many people have recommended and are getting good results with (Bob's Red Mill) Raw Potato Starch. Raw potato starch contains about 8 grams of resistant starch per tablespoon and almost no usable carbohydrate. It is also not that expensive. It tastes kind of bland and you can add it to your diet in various ways, by sprinkling it on your food, mixing it in water, putting it in smoothies, etc. Four tablespoons of raw potato starch should provide 32 grams of resistant starch. It is important to start slowly and work your way up, because too much, too soon can cause flatulence and discomfort. It may take time (2-4 weeks) for the production of short-chain fatty acids to increase and to notice all the benefits, so be patient. Excessive hunger, especially sugar cravings, is a hallmark sign of type 2 diabetes http://tiny.cc/superstarchmiracle because your body is constantly trying to maintain adequate blood sugar levels. I'll bet your doctor even gave you a piece of his mind when you were diagnosed with diabetes… You're eating too much! You need more self-control. You swore you'd lose weight, and you did for a while. Your blood sugar probably came down, too. But then...even though you were eating less, you gained all your weight back and then some...making your blood sugar inch up again. So they upped your medication dose and urged you to "stop eating so much"... But you weren’t to blame! It's your doctor who probably packed those extra pounds under your belt, because mainstream diabetes treatments nearly always make you FATTER! It should come as no surprise that eating all the time (especially the wrong foods), increases your risk of gaining weight and suffering from additional problems related to excess body fatness. But don’t worry – there’s more good news: Diabetes-artery-narrowing, This super starch has consistently been shown to increase satiety after a meal and reduce cravings for more food so that you don’t feel like eating everything in sight. Not only does this amazing starch LOWER blood sugar and insulin and help you more satisfied after a meal, it also lowers the amount of dangerous cholesterol and triglycerides floating around in your blood. It also reduces fat storage. When you tally up all these diabetes-fighting health benefits, then super starch certainly is one of the most amazing foods that you’ve NEVER heard about….until now! http://tiny.cc/superstarchmiracle The cold, hard truth is this: Big Pharma’s diabetes drugs are incapable of ending your diabetes. If anything, they’ll kill you faster than doing nothing at all. So what now? If the drugs won’t save you are you DOOMED? Hardly! There are millions of diabetics all around the world that have reversed everything from hardened arteries and high blood pressure to complete congestive heart failure…without drugs, in mere weeks! How? Some have incorporated natural remedies like bitter melon, which according to a 2009 study published in the Journal of Phytomedicine. was far superior to the diabetes medication Avandia in the management of diabetes and its complications. Others have cleaned up their diet and started exercising more – both massively important and effective at completely reversing diabetes. In fact, did you know that exercise alone has the exact same effect as insulin? Indeed. Just like insulin, it increases the movement of the GLUT-4 transporter to the cell membrane where it is able to “open the door”, allowing blood sugar to enter each of your cells – leaving your blood sugar at a much happier level as a result. Amazing stuff! But this could be the real kicker… http://tiny.cc/superstarchmiracle Super Starch the miracle treatment for type 2 diabetes, super starch, diabetes cure, reverse diabetes, diabetes diet, foods that lower blood sugar, resistant starch, defeating diabetes, type 2 diabetes treatment, what is the treatment for type 2 diabetes, new type 2 diabetes treatment,

This Mark's Daily Apple blog post podcast is an episode of the Primal Blueprint Podcast. You can find the Primal Blueprint Podcast on iTunes, and all other Primal Blueprint Podcast episodes on the Primal Blueprint YouTube channel. A few years back, I briefly covered a throwaway Yahoo! article about how “carbs will make you lose weight” because so many readers had emailed about it. It turned out that the “carbs” in the article were resistant starch, a type of carbohydrate that our digestive enzymes cannot break down. I’ll admit now, with regret, that I didn’t look as deeply into the matter as I might have. I didn’t dismiss resistant starch, but I did downplay its importance, characterizing it as “just another type of prebiotic” – important but not necessary so long as you were eating other fermentable fibers. While technically true, we’re fast learning that resistant starch may be a special type of prebiotic with a special place in the human diet. (This Mark's Daily Apple article was written by Mark Sisson, and is narrated by Brock Armstrong)

How Any Man or Woman OVER 35 Can Shrink & Incinerate Stubborn Fat Cells in 12 Minutes FLAT: http://gl12.net/ytresistantstarchreport Discover The Amazing Benefits of “Resistant Starches” Inside this video, I'm going to uncover six rarely talked about high-carb foods that can help you control your blood sugar, improve your gut bacteria, which is 80% of your immune system, control your appetite, improve insulin sensitivity, and help you burn more belly fat. So most people think that you need to avoid carbs like the plague if you want to lose weight. And this is simply not the case, especially with this particular group of starches called resistant starches. So these are starches that actually escape or pass through digestion and go directly to the large intestine and they act like fiber. And research has shown that people who add 15 to 30 grams of resistant starches into their diet daily for a period of four weeks had a 33% to 50% greater improvement in their insulin sensitivity. So this allows your body to burn more fat and it also wards off type two diabetes. So the six best ones to add to your diet are: 1. Raw oats, not cooked oats. So I recommend you grind them up, you put them in a protein shake. 2. Cooled potatoes or rice. So white rice that's been cooled like sushi or potatoes that have been boiled or baked and then cooled down contain a lot of resistance starches. 3. Unripe bananas. Remember, as a banana ripens, the sugar content increases. So unripe bananas contain a ton of resistant starch, but as it ripens and turns brown and spotted, that resistant starch actually converts to sugars. 4. Chilled or cooled pasta. Yay! You can enjoy your pasta without getting fat. Just make sure you monitor your portion control and you have to make sure it's cooled. 5. Chilled or cooled lentils. 6. White beans. So there you have it. Six high-carb foods that you can add to your diet to get a ton of benefits without worrying about storing more belly fat. Now, as a gift for watching this, I want to give you instant access to a free report called the "Over 40 Stubborn Fat Sequence." I designed this report because I saw that people over 35 years old were struggling to lose belly fat because of their current hormonal condition. So if you're in your 40s, 50s, or 60s, you must move differently than younger people. And it really only takes you 12 minutes a day, and I'm going to show you exactly how to do it. Thanks for watching this and keep going strong.

Cooling Some Foods After Cooking Increases Their Resistant Starch Not all carbs are created equal. From sugars to starches to fiber, different carbs have different effects on your health. Resistant starch is a carb that is also considered a type of fiber. Increasing your intake of resistant starch can be beneficial for the bacteria in your intestines as well as for your cells. Interestingly, research has shown that the way you prepare common foods like potatoes, rice and pasta may change their resistant starch content. What Is Resistant Starch? Starches are made up of long chains of glucose. Glucose is the main building block of carbs. It is also a major source of energy for the cells in your body. Starches are common carbs found in grains, potatoes, beans, corn and many other foods. However, not all starches are processed the same way inside the body. Normal starches are broken down into glucose and absorbed. This is why your blood glucose, or blood sugar, increases after eating. Why Is It Good for You? Resistant starch provides several important health benefits. Since it is not digested by the cells of your small intestine, it is available for the bacteria in the large intestine to use. Resistant starch is a prebiotic, meaning it is a substance that provides “food” for the good bacteria in your intestines. Click Here to Subscribe: http://Bit.ly/ThomasVid Website: http://ThomasDeLauer.com Carb Science: Good Starch vs. Bad Starch- Thomas DeLauer… So you know that not all carbs are created equal, right? We always talk about that. But did you know that not all starches are created equal too? So in this video, I want to break down how different starches from different carbohydrate sources respond inside your body and may cause these additional casualties that you didn't quite know about before. If you haven't already, make sure you hit the subscribe button so that you can see all the three to five videos that I'm posting per week ranging from the topics of fasting, ketosis, general health, and just about everything under the sun relating to wellness. Also, make sure you turn on those notifications. So let's start digging into the science right now. So, when we're looking at starches, we really have to look at just two things. There's really only two major components that we have to focus on and they're two different polysaccharides. One is known as amylose and one is known as amylopectin. Now obviously there are different polysaccharides but these are the two that we want to focus on because they're the main culprits when it comes down to whether a starch is good or whether a starch is bad. So let's go ahead and let's focus on amylose first. You see, amylose is what is known as a straight chain polysaccharide. What does that mean? It means that the glucose molecules, the actual carb molecules are in a simple, straight chain. What does this mean? It means that there's not a whole lot of surface area to be able to digest. So believe it or not, this kind of starch takes a longer time to break down because it has less surface area. So what ends up happening is it sits in the small intestine for a little bit, it gets broken down into slightly smaller chunks, and then eventually broken down into short chain fatty acids. I know, you heard me right. Literally a carbohydrate, a starch, goes into the gut and actually gets converted into a very fast-absorbing fat. I know, it's kind of crazy and it sounds bad but if you hear me out throughout the entire video, I will make sure that you understand that it's actually a good thing. So what this means is it's actually a resistant starch. A resistant starch is what we want, even though it sounds bad again. Resistant kinda sounds bad, but it means that it resists the urge to crazily spike our blood sugar. It resists the urge to spike our insulin. This resistance in this context is actually a good thing. So now let's talk about the other side of the coin. We're talking about amylopectin. Amylopectin in contrast to amylose is a highly branched molecule. What does that mean? Well remember how I said that the amylose has a long simple chain, just a straight chain that has very little surface area? Well, amylopectin has a lot of little branches, meaning it has a lot of surface area. I want you to visualize this for a second. You have just a simple straight tree branch. Think about the surface area that is on one single line. Now think about the surface area that is on something that has tons and tons of little branches and twigs. You got multiple branches upon branches. Think of the surface area that you have to travel. That means that you have a lot more absorbency, and again, first thought, this sounds good. We want to absorb our carbs, but the thing is, we don't want to absorb our carbs this fast unless mind you you know exactly what you're doing or you're trying to break a fast and strategically do something. We don't want to be constantly spiking our blood sugar or spiking our insulin. So these highly branched molecules end up having a very high molecular weight, which means that it has a higher impact on our bodies. Now the interesting thing, we don't have just carbs that have just amylose or just amylopectin. All starches have both. It's just a ratio of the two that we have to focus on. Sometimes, starches have more amylopectin than they do amylose, and sometimes, starches have more amylose than they do amylopectin. It’s this ratio that ultimately determines the glycemic index and how we actually respond to a given carbohydrate. So, by now you've probably realized that the amylopectin isn't necessarily a good thing and there's some research to back that up. There was a study that was published in the Journal of Nutrition that was quite basic. They took test subjects and for 16 weeks they had them eat a high amylopectin diet. They had them eat starches that were very high in amylopectin, and what they measured after 16 weeks were a couple of things, but mainly, they looked at their insulin levels. Well, test subjects ended up having a 50% increase in insulin, but guess what? It doesn't stop there. They ended up having a 50% increase in insulin resistance too. Do you know what insulin resistance is? That's diabetes.

This video was taken from the Joe Rogan Experience podcast # 1037, featuring Chris Kresser. The clip is about resistant starch. Some food naturally contain resistant starch, and some starch is converted into resistant starch by cooking, then cooling. I have tried the cooked and cooked potato diet myself, and did not get the normal insulin spike typically associated with potatoes. This video is the long version of my previous potato diet video.

Beans are the very best source of resistant fiber. Although the types of beans and preparation methods cause varying amounts of resistant starch (canned beans are more glycemic), in general, the starch in beans is about evenly divided between slowly digested starch and resistant starch. Note, though, that taking products such as Beano to increase digestibility of beans will also increase the digestibility of resistant starch and enhance its caloric absorption. Resistant starch can help you lose weight overnight Free Business Mastery course http://www.ameerrosic.com/vip Resistant starch is a type of starch that isn't fully broken down and absorbed, but rather turned into short-chain fatty acids by intestinal bacteria. This may lead to some unique health benefits. To get the most from resistant starch, choose whole, unprocessed sources of carbohydrate such as whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and beans/legumes. What makes a starch "resistant"? All starches are composed of two types of polysaccharides: amylose and amylopectin. Amylopectin is highly branched, leaving more surface area available for digestion. It's broken down quickly, which means it produces a larger rise in blood sugar (glucose) and subsequently, a large rise in insulin. Amylose is a straight chain, which limits the amount of surface area exposed for digestion. This predominates in RS. Foods high in amylose are digested more slowly. They're less likely to spike blood glucose or insulin. Resistant starch can help you lose weight overnight In This Episode, You Will Learn: What is Resistant Starch? Where do you get it? If you want control diabetes click the link below to get more detail http://ohmyhealth.us/diabetes-control Diabetes control: 5 Foods That Lower Blood Sugars In Diabetics Maintaining low blood sugar levels can be difficult for diabetic patients. While a low carb diet appears to be useful on the whole, there are also many foods shown to help. Either by lowering blood sugars and/or improving insulin sensitivity. This articles looks at 10 of the best foods and supplements for lowering blood sugars, based on current research. Just know they should never be used in place of your diabetes medication, but rather alongside. 1. Resistant Starch Lowers Sugars After Meals Resistant starch can lower sugar levels Starches are long chains of glucose (sugar) found in oats, grains, bananas, potatoes and various other foods. Some varieties pass through digestion unchanged and are not absorbed as sugar into the blood. These are known as resistant starch. Many studies show resistant starch can greatly improve insulin sensitivity. That is, how well the body can move sugar out of the blood and into cells for energy. This is why it’s so useful for lowering blood sugar levels after meals (1, 2). The effect is so great that having resistant starch at lunch will reduce blood sugar spikes at dinner, known as the “second meal effect” (3). Problem is many foods high in resistant starch, such as potatoes, are also high in digestible carbs that can spike blood sugar. Therefore resistant starch in supplement form – without the extra carbs – is recommended. 2. Ceylon Cinnamon Cinnamon has been used for its medicinal properties since Ancient Egypt and China. Several cinnamon compounds appear to prevent the absorption of sugar into the bloodstream, minimising blood sugar spikes. It may also dramatically improve insulin sensitivity (4, 5). In a recent clinical trial, 25 poorly-controlled type 2 diabetics received either 1 gram per day of cinnamon or placebo (dummy supplement) for 12 weeks. Fasting blood sugar levels in the cinnamon group dropped by 10% after 6 weeks and 17% after 12 weeks compared to placebo (6). cinnamon-powder-on-fasting-glucose Effect of 1 g cinnamon powder on fasting blood glucose. **Highly significant difference from baseline The HbA1c (3-month marker of blood sugar levels) also began to decrease by 8% after 12 weeks, although it did not reach statistical significance. Note that not all clinical trials have found cinnamon to be effective, so it’s by no means a “miracle” treatment (7). The recommended dose is 1-6 grams daily, from ceylon rather than cassia. 3. Raspberries and Strawberries 4. Cashews and Almonds 5. Green Tea music provide by Nocopysounds Itro & Tobu - Cloud 9 [NCS Release] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtKbiyyVZks

These are apple cider vinegar, cinnamon and whey potato starch. These three have amazing capacity to reduce the blood sugar. Apple:-Meals that have carbohydrates contain more likely to have increase the sugar level. But I we take apple cider vinegar with cheese than following morning sugar level be very less. It is used as remedies from long times and very effective. It is prepared from apple juice Cinnamon:- Cinnamon has amazing capacity of treating diabetes. It is used as species in different part of world for several years. If we take 2 table of spoon before sugar test then results of test will be excellent and sugar count will be very low. But according to some studies the regular use of cinnamon is harmful for liver. So it is advised to use it in small amounts for shorter period. Whey Potato Starch:-According to one study ,the insulin response was better in cases whey potato starch was include in diet than when it was not include in diet. After lunch the blood glucose response was significantly reduced under curve after whey ingestion. So it can be concluded the addition whey to meals with rapidly digested and absorbed carbohydrates stimulates insulin release .When amount of insulin in blood is increased then sugar level in blood comes down and insulin act as key to cells which allowed sugar intake from blood and use it as energy source. So after above facts we can say that these are very healthy and natural treatment of diabetes.

Everyone loves white rice. Make them waist-friendly by removing starch from cooked rice. Reduced calories!! Any dieter's choice! A healthy substitute to steamed rice. Ingredients: Rice: 1 cup (washed and soaked for 30 minutes) Water : 4 cups Lemon juice (1 tsp) Salt (1 tsp)( optional) Method: 1. Set water to boil at medium heat. 2. Strain the soaked rice and transfer to boiling water. 3. Add salt and stir. 4. Cover with a lid that has a vent for steam to escape, or else cover with a lid partially and reduce heat to between low and medium. 5. After 5 minutes, check rice grains for doneness by crushing 2-3 grains between your fingertips. 6. If rice is soft as per your liking, add 1 tsp strained lemon juice, and stir it in. Switch off the heat. (Continue boiling for a few more minutes, if rice is not soft) 7. Strain the rice in a colander (sieve). 8. Let all starchy water drain away. Discard the water. 9. Enjoy the de-starched rice with a nutritious curry, yogurt or veggies. Note: De-starching rice reduces the calorie-intake, because you are not going to eat the calories that would have come from the starch. This makes de-starched rice a favorite with those who are looking for weight-loss. Though this may wash off a few nutrients as well from the rice. Make sure to compensate for the nutrient loss by eating a nutritious curry/veggies/ yogurt with the rice.
