After a tense night anchored on a lee shore we up'd anchor and sailed to Gaios. There we found a quaint village, went for beautiful walks in the olive groves and even got the bikes out. We thought we'd found treasure on the sea bed (which would have paid for the extortionate mooring fees!) but it turned out to be just a bag of shells. TRANSCRIPT: The Beaufort scale tonight is a force 9. It's 55 miles per hour winds. Okay it's 4 o'clock in the morning. I think we're through the worst of it now. One of the buildings I was using as a transit switch its lights out at about half past three which completely confused me so I had a bit of a panic. The anchor chain seems to have held The wind's changed direction a bit so the swell's not so bad. So I think we're gonna be all right. So I think a cup of tea and get my sleeping bag. I'll stay on deck for now. Might as well see the rest of the night out on deck. Everybody sleep alright last night? No! It was really stormy and I could hear the wave.. really big waves splashing on my cabin. So the next day the weather calmed a bit so he could go around the corner and we went into a little inlet called Gaios on the same island of Paxos. It's really pretty. We went stern to. We had a few problems getting the anchor down and we had to sort of do it again because it wasn't holding again. We were really relieved we didn't go there the night before because it wouldn't have been good the night before; it was better to stay where we were. But it was a lovely town and we got the bikes out. My oldest daughter went cycling with dad. We've come to a new place and we're looking around to see if there are any good shops or cafes. And now we're going along the sea because over there is a dead end and a place where the ferries come in and out. And it's quite a nice path.. like a winding path. It was a really nice place to stay for a few days. We went for a walk in the olive groves right to the top of the hill and the kids loved that. We just talk as we do it; it was good to get our legs working and good to spend time with them. Yeah we even found a handbag at the bottom of the sea so my middle son dove down to try and retrieve it and we couldn't wait to see what was inside - we thought there might be some money and some treasure but when we opened it up it turned out that was just a whole bunch of shells. The other thing about that place in Gaios - it was a town quay so we we only really expected to pay about 10 euros but the authorities came around and we got charged about 35 euros. It was really expensive and it's not something we can afford to pay every night because we're on a budget. Yeah we're leaving Paxos and going to Parga again. Paxos was really quaint. There were lovely squares and little alleyways we are cycling down. We had a few traumas like the washing machine flooded the boat. Right just got the washing machine going and oh yeah and our anchor wouldn't bike as well - that was pretty bad - and we got charged loads of money it was like 35 euros for one night which we can't afford to pay that. So luckily she didn't come round the next night so we've got two nights for 35 euros which was a bit better. So we had a lovely walk up the hill and a lovely two days actually - two days of good home schooling as well kids have really enjoyed it haven't you kids? No! We're going to Parga which is over there somewhere. The kids are more confident on the boat - they want to move around the boat a bit more so we've kind of got the lifejackets out and the lifelines so they can clip on they can move about the boat quite comfortably. As we've been going along I've been trying to fix the kiddie netting on which just makes it extra safe really on the boat. We're still trying to work out what safety measures we're gonna use really. Yeah that's probably a whole blog in itself. When we anchor down we've got dinghy that gets us to shore and back and the dinghy has been repaired. There was quite a few things wrong with it. Some of those things repair but not everything could be repaired so it still leaks quite a bit; we have to keep pumping it out. It's not the most reliable dinghy at the moment - it'll be nice one day maybe to replace it.
Many new players will be confused by the J2M2, expecting it to be an agile dogfighter like the A6Ms, Ki-43s and to a lesser extent Ki-61s and Ki-45s. Chevron is putting a plan to drill for oil in the Beaufort Sea in Canada's Arctic on hold indefinitely because of what it called "economic uncertainty in the industry" as oil prices fall. In a letter to Canada's National Energy Board on Wednesday, the company withdrew from a hearing on Arctic drilling rules because it has walked away from plans to drill 155 miles northwest of Tuktoyaktuk, Northwest Territories. The drilling project is the largest yet put on hold after oil prices dropped by nearly half over the last six months, even as a long list of oil companies cut their budgets for 2015 because of the price drop. http://news.yahoo.com/chevron-cancels-canadian-arctic-drilling-oil-prices-slide-230049484--finance.html http://www.wochit.com

Reuters reports that as oil flows into the Gulf of Mexico at an unthinkable rate, BP is urging Canada to drop regulations in their country for offshore drilling. Exasperated Canadian legislators grilled the head of BPs Canadian unit last week, concerned about the risks of the company's plans to drill in Arctic waters after the catastrophic Gulf spill.

Energy giant Total has warned against drilling for crude oil in Arctic waters, according to a report in British newspaper the Financial Times. Total's chief executive, Christophe de Margerie, said damage caused by a potential oil spill in such an environmentally sensitive area would be disastrous. A 2008 study by the US Geological Survey found the Arctic Ocean contains more than a fifth of the world's unexploited, recoverable oil and gas resources.VIDEOGRAPHIC

Arctic offshore drilling by Royal Dutch Shell PLC drew protests on two continents this year. A more modest proposal, however, for extracting petroleum where polar bears roam has moved forward with much less attention. While Shell proposed exploratory wells in the Chukchi Sea about 80 miles off Alaska's northwest coast, a Texas oil company wants to build a gravel island as a platform for five or more extraction wells that could tap oil 6 miles from shore in the Beaufort Sea. A successful well would mean the first petroleum production in federal Arctic waters. The U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management is deciding how to assess the environmental effect of a production plan for the Liberty Project by Hilcorp Alaska LLC. The company is a subsidiary of Houston-based Hilcorp Energy Co. http://hosted2.ap.org/APDEFAULT/386c25518f464186bf7a2ac026580ce7/Article_2015-12-13-US-Arctic-Offshore-Drilling-Beaufort-Sea/id-f121398e9a5549aa8cdfba0a2793d7c0 http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com

Energy in America: EPA Rules Force Shell to Abandon Oil Drilling Plans By Dan Springer Published April 25, 2011 | FoxNews.com Shell Oil Company has announced it must scrap efforts to drill for oil this summer in the Arctic Ocean off the northern coast of Alaska. The decision comes following a ruling by the EPA's Environmental Appeals Board to withhold critical air permits. The move has angered some in Congress and triggered a flurry of legislation aimed at stripping the EPA of its oil drilling oversight. Shell has spent five years and nearly $4 billion dollars on plans to explore for oil in the Beaufort and Chukchi Seas. The leases alone cost $2.2 billion. Shell Vice President Pete Slaiby says obtaining similar air permits for a drilling operation in the Gulf of Mexico would take about 45 days. He's especially frustrated over the appeal board's suggestion that the Arctic drill would somehow be hazardous for the people who live in the area. "We think the issues were really not major," Slaiby said, "and clearly not impactful for the communities we work in." The closest village to where Shell proposed to drill is Kaktovik, Alaska. It is one of the most remote places in the United States. According to the latest census, the population is 245 and nearly all of the residents are Alaska natives. The village, which is 1 square mile, sits right along the shores of the Beaufort Sea, 70 miles away from the proposed off-shore drill site. The EPA's appeals board ruled that Shell had not taken into consideration emissions from an ice-breaking vessel when calculating overall greenhouse gas emissions from the project. Environmental groups were thrilled by the ruling. "What the modeling showed was in communities like Kaktovik, Shell's drilling would increase air pollution levels close to air quality standards," said Eric Grafe, Earthjustice's lead attorney on the case. Earthjustice was joined by Center for Biological Diversity and the Alaska Wilderness League in challenging the air permits. At stake is an estimated 27 billion barrels of oil. That's how much the U. S. Geological Survey believes is in the U.S. portion of the Arctic Ocean. For perspective, that represents two and a half times more oil than has flowed down the Trans Alaska pipeline throughout its 30-year history. That pipeline is getting dangerously low on oil. At 660,000 barrels a day, it's carrying only one-third its capacity. Production on the North Slope of Alaska is declining at a rate of about 7 percent a year. If the volume gets much lower, pipeline officials say they will have to shut it down. Alaska officials are blasting the Environmental Protection Agency. "It's driving investment and production overseas," said Alaska's DNR Commissioner Dan Sullivan. "That doesn't help the United States in any way, shape or form." The EPA did not return repeated calls and e-mails. The Environmental Appeals Board has four members: Edward Reich, Charles Sheehan, Kathie Stein and Anna Wolgast. All are registered Democrats and Kathie Stein was an activist attorney for the Environmental Defense Fund. Members are appointed by the EPA administrator. Alaska's Republican senator thinks it's time to make some changes. "EPA has demonstrated that they're not competent to handle the process," said Sen. Lisa Murkowski. "So if they're not competent to handle it, they need to get out of the way." Murkowski supported budget amendments that would have stripped the EPA of its oversight role in Arctic offshore drilling. The Interior Department issues air permits to oil companies working in the Gulf of Mexico. Interview conducted by Eileen Hurst. William Phillips joined the U.S. Army in 1963 at the age of 18, with the goal of having a career in the military. He attended basic training at Fort Jackson, SC which lasted for 12 weeks. He then went to Fort Gordon, GA for Advanced Infantry Training and upon his graduation he went immediately to Jump School. Jump School consisted mainly of practicing jumps and techniques. He also went to Ranger School and Special Warfare School before going over to Vietnam. In these schools he learned techniques in communications and intelligence gathering, along with other Special Forces skills. He was part of the 5th Special Forces Group with a base in Danang, however much of his time was spent as part of small team of both Americans and Vietnamese soldiers that ran reconnaissance missions in Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, and up and down the Ho Chi Minh Trail, as part of the Special Operations Group. His first assignment on this team was as a radio man, and then after six to seven missions he was made team leader. Phillips describes what the missions were like, what their basic objectives were, and the outcome of some of those missions. After a year in Vietnam, he was transferred to the 8th Special Forces in Panama, where the duties of the Special Forces team were more typical than they had been in Vietnam. There he was part of teams that would go into South America and teach indigenous people warfare techniques among other assignments. After a year in Panama, Phillips volunteered for an additional year of service in Vietnam. He was sent back to the same unit, and assigned the same sort of missions, although he notes that the Tet Offensive changed the missions somewhat. His unit was very a dangerous unit to be a part of, they had a 130% casualty rate, 20% were killed in action, and Phillips himself was wounded five times. He again volunteered for a third tour in Vietnam, and he did not return to the United States until 1970. Although he had intended to make a career in the military, he instead decided to leave so that he could marry. He was discharged in 1971, and went to college on the GI Bill. Phillips also discusses daily life and the PTSD that he suffered from.

Mr. David McGuinty (Ottawa South, Lib.): Mr. Speaker, two years ago the Conservatives decided to expedite the approval of exploration permits for BP and Imperial Oil in the Beaufort Sea. They did so without establishing an integrated management plan for the region, knowing very well that the permits were for fragile areas that would be impossible to clean in the event of a spill, because of the frozen waters, for one thing. Why is the Prime Minister deliberately endangering the fragile environment of the Canadian Arctic, when we know that the risks involved are enormous? Hon. Christian Paradis (Minister of Natural Resources, CPC): Mr. Speaker, these allegations are completely false. The government has been clear from the beginning. We expect Canadian authorities to apply Canada's strict environmental standards, including our strict safety regime for offshore drilling. I want to be very clear here. We will not proceed in any way if we are not absolutely certain that the environment and the safety of our workers will be respected, period. And Canadians can expect nothing less. Mr. David McGuinty (Ottawa South, Lib.): Mr. Speaker, BP gave assurances that it could handle a disaster 30 times larger than the spill in the Gulf of Mexico. A virtually identical rig and drilling system is set to be used off the coast of Newfoundland. If a spill were to occur, it would take 11 days just to get a ship to the site, with no guarantees a suitable rig could be found to drill a relief well. The government claims it has standards that are more stringent than in the United States. If that is the case, why is the only emergency preparedness plan in place provided by Chevron? Where is the government's plan? Hon. Christian Paradis (Minister of Natural Resources, CPC): Mr. Speaker, I heard a lot of "ifs" in the question. Canadian regulations require operators to employ the best technology, equipment and training techniques available. We will not accept any weakening of those requirements. Let me be clear. No drilling will proceed unless we are convinced of the safety of the environment and the workers, period. Canadians expect nothing less.

The federal government is moving ahead with plans to grant new offshore oil-exploration licences in Canada's Arctic, despite the U.S. government's expanding freeze on offshore drilling in the wake of the Gulf Coast spill. President Barack Obama said BP has been told to try a different procedure to stop the oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico now that the "top kill" effort has failed. Ensco PLC has dropped plans to buy Scorpion Offshore, the offshore contract drilling company said Friday.

***Spoilers up to early chapter 5.*** One of my favorite fights in the game so far simply because it is actually a challenge. This is one particular successful instance of a fight with it that I did to fill out Zenobia's Affinity Chart. (believe me there were many unsuccessful attempts) Some things that make this fight more difficult that usual: 1) Azure is over water. Most of your HP pots will probably fall into the water, so one source of healing is severely diminished. 2) There are level 70+ piranhas on either side, and if you aggro one during the fight you're screwed. 3) Azure gets fairly rapid HP regen. 4) Once Azure gets enraged, its AOE attacks become incredibly dangerous, and it gets an AOE that causes blowback. If your team can't take the AOE attacks, then you need to kill the thing BEFORE it hits half health. 5) CPU AI is dumb and can enter the water, making them useless for the time they're in it. I actually was fortunate in this particular instance of the fight mostly because Rex and Nia ended up in a location where AOE focused on me (Morag) wouldn't affect them as much. Usually what you would want to do is nuke the Azure with a full burst chain before it gets enraged; otherwise bad things start to happen... Re. the chain attack at the very end: I take some time making decisions because I was planning out how to make Zenobia get the final hit (cause Zenobia does busted damage). Also, just a minor fun fact, but I'm pretty sure Morag and Nia can win by themselves cause Morag is a dodge tank (I've had her tank by herself against this thing for ~3 minutes before....). It would just take a potentially looong time. ©Nintendo/MONOLITHSOFT

In recent decades, developments in software and hardware technologies have created dramatic shifts in design, manufacturing and research. Software technologies have facilitated automated process and new solutions for complex problems. Computation has also become a platform for creativity through generative art and design. New hardware platforms and digital fabrication technologies have similarly transformed manufacturing, offering more efficient production and mass customization. Such advances have helped catalyzed the maker-movement, democratizing design and maker culture. This influx of new capabilities to design, compute and fabricate like never before, has sparked a renewed interest in material performance. We are now witnessing significant advances in active matter, 3D/4D Printing, materials science, synthetic biology, DNA nanotechnology and soft robotics, which have led to the convergence of software, hardware and material technologies and the growing field of programmable materials. This conference was about the emerging field of active matter and programmable materials that bridges the worlds of art, science, engineering and design, demonstrating new perspectives for computation, transformation and dynamic material applications. If over the past few decades we have experienced a software revolution, and more recently, a hardware revolution, this conference aims to discuss the premises, challenges and innovations brought by today’s materials revolution. We can now sense, compute, and actuate with materials alone, just as we could with software and hardware platforms previously. How does this shift influence materials research, and how does it shape the future of design, arts, and industrial applications? What tools and design processes do we need to advance, augment and invent new materials today? What are the key roles that industry, government, academic and public institutions can play in catalyzing the field of programmable materials? This two-day conference consisted of a range of talks and lively discussion from leading researchers in materials science, art & design, synthetic biology and soft-robotics along with leaders from government, public institutions and industry.

This unique was really tough! I'll go over my strategy. First you have to realize that this opponent can resist topple, has access to stench, and spike damage as well. In equipment I had something to weaken its resistance to break for Nia which allowed me to topple it a lot more and some spike resistance on Rex only. I knew the spike damage would still be a lot so my plan was to get a lot of elemental orbs and finish him with a strong chain attack. Sealing stench was my first priority and after that I just managed to line up topple/launch with lvl 3 combos for max damage to finish him with a chain attack.
