G. Edward Griffin (born November 7, 1931) is an American author, lecturer, and filmmaker. He is the author of "World Without Cancer" where he argues that cancer is a nutritional deficiency that can be cured by consuming amygdalin, a view regarded as quackery by the medical community. He is an HIV/AIDS denialist, supports the 9/11 Truth movement, and supports John F. Kennedy assassination conspiracy theories. He believes Noah's Ark is located in Turkey at the Durupınar site. [...] In 1974, Griffin wrote and self-published the book "World Without Cancer" and released it as a video; its second edition appeared in 1997. In the book and the video, Griffin asserts that cancer is a metabolic disease like a vitamin deficiency facilitated by the insufficient dietary consumption of laetrile. He contends that "eliminating cancer through a nondrug therapy has not been accepted because of the hidden economic and power agendas of those who dominate the medical establishment" and he wrote, "at the very top of the world's economic and political pyramid of power there is a grouping of financial, political, and industrial interests that, by the very nature of their goals, are the natural enemies of the nutritional approaches to health". Since the 1970s, the use of laetrile to treat cancer has been identified in the scientific literature as a canonical example of quackery and has never been shown to be effective in the treatment or prevention of cancer. Emanuel Landau, then a Project Director for the APHA, wrote a book review for the American Journal of Public Health, which noted that Griffin "accepts the 'conspiracy' theory ... that policy-makers in the medical, pharmaceutical, research and fund-raising organizations deliberately or unconsciously strive not to prevent or cure cancer in order to perpetuate their functions". Landau concludes that although World Without Cancer "is an emotional plea for the unrestricted use of the Laetrile as an anti-tumor agent, the scientific evidence to justify such a policy does not appear within it". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G._Edward_Griffin Subscribe to wocomoDOCS for more documentaries in full length: https://goo.gl/q5GXI6 Follow wocomo on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/wocomo/

To increase the number of Mississippians being screened for colorectal cancer, concerned organizations have come together to create a public service campaign featuring Dak Prescott, the former Mississippi State star quarterback and this year’s NFL Rookie of the Year for the Dallas Cowboys. As many Mississippians know, Dak’s mother died of colon cancer when he was just a sophomore in college. In these PSAs, Dak shares his story, in the hope of helping others to avoid the pain and loss that he, his mom, and his family endured. The PSA campaign was developed by the 70 x 2020 Initiative, a consortium of current and retired physicians, faculty at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and other concerned professionals and volunteers, with support from the American Cancer Society and the Mississippi State University Extension Service.

Webinar: Can AI Beat Cancer? Webinar Abstract: Finding effective treatments for cancer is fundamentally a high-dimensional probabilistic planning, search, and optimization problem, characterized by thousands of molecular subtypes, tens of thousands of plausible drug regimens, and a dearth of high quality data on clinical responses. These explosive combinatorics and the lack of data are overwhelming traditional approaches to clinical development, including the latest Bayesian adaptive trial designs and big data analytics. However, this is precisely the kind of knowledge-based planning and search problem that AI is uniquely designed to solve. Many organizations are developing relevant AI-based applications, from decision support and treatment planning to treatment validation and real time response monitoring. We will review these developments and describe a bold industry-wide initiative to integrate them for the immediate benefit of all cancer patients and their physicians, while radically improving the efficiency of clinical research and drug development. Hi, my name is Ayda Sanver and I’m a fundraising consultant, and I’m here to make this short video and share with you some tips today for fundraising. I wanted to talk about the most commonly asked question I get from friends and clients about asking others for donations, and the question I most often get is, “Ayda, what do I do? I’ve got to raise some money or collect some silent auction items for my favorite nonprofit, and I’m too shy to ask.. and asking is scary.” Well, guess what, asking IS scary! It’s scary for all of us. But, there’s two things I’m going to tell you up front before I give you the tips that will hopefully boost your confidence. First, if you don’t ask, the answer is always “no.” Do you understand? If you don’t ask, the answer is always going to be “no.” So, you have to take that leap of faith and make an ask. Second, when you do ask, and the answer is “no,” no isn’t fatal! Nobody died from hearing the word “no!” It just means you have to keep going and ask others. So, you need to have a way longer list of people and organizations to ask than your goal of success. So, with those two little ground rules in mind, hopefully that gives you a little bit of confidence. The next tip I’m going to give you to me is the simplest one. You already have the passion. You care about this cause. You care about it so much that you want to make a difference. Well, let that passion speak for you when you are talking to other people! How do you do that? You do that by telling them a story about someone you know, or someone the nonprofit has told you has been helped by their work – or it could be an animal rescue nonprofit, or a saving parks nonprofit.. find a good story. Usually, those stories are on the nonprofit’s web site, and if they are not, you can ask them to give you good stories. So, if you can tell a short, good story about the impact that organization made on one person, one animal, or one group of people, then you are half way there. Because, when you approach your friends or potential donors, you can tell that story from a place of heartfelt passion, and say, “I’d like to tell you a story about this great nonprofit and the work that they do. Do you have a minute?” Then, you start to tell the story… and then you make the “ask.” So, you already know you have the passion – you just need the words to make it happen, right? I have other tips like this on my website, and I have a free download, I look forward to hearing your feedback, and I look forward to speaking with you. As with you and everybody else that I work with – clients, friends, people that I coach – asking isn’t scary. It does take practice, and it takes some knowledge. Thank you for your time, I look forward to your feedback. Visit www.aydasanver.com for a free 30-minute coaching session!

Potassium Bromate is typically added to bread and other flours as maturing agent which promotes gluten development in doughs, making the bread stronger and more elastic. Commercial bakers use bromated flour because it yields dependable results and can stand up to bread hooks and other commercial baking tools. It is also used to render inferior flour with low protein levels more useable since these flours do not develop enough gluten on their own. Bromate is also considered a category 2B carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), meaning that it may be harmful when consumed. In theory, the substance is supposed to bake out of bread dough as it cooks, but if too much is added, or if the bread is not cooked long enough or not at a high enough temperature, then a residual amount will remain. Potassium Bromate has been banned from use in food products in Europe, as well as the United Kingdom in 1990, and Canada in 1994, and most other countries. It was banned in Sri Lanka in 2001 and China in 2005. It is also banned in Nigeria, Brazil and Peru. In the United States, it is not banned. In California a warning label is required when bromated flour is used. Some organizations such as the Center for Science in the Public Interest have lobbied the Food and Drug Administration to ban Potassium Bromate as a food additive in the United States. Instead, since 1991 the FDA has urged bakers to voluntarily stop using it.

Penn Medicine's "ImmunoRevolution" began over 20 years ago, when Carl June, MD, and his team began creating personalized immunotherapy treatments to reprogram the immune system to recognize and kill cancer cells. At the time, there were limited funding opportunities for novel ideas like these and our researchers relied on philanthropy to fuel innovation. Today, after years of hard work and tremendous support from amazing organizations and philanthropists, we have received FDA approval for the first-ever CAR T-cell therapy treatment. This is just the beginning, and it is already revolutionizing how the world treats cancer. It has even led to studies in diabetes, cardiology and Parkinson's -- and will eventually extend to many other diseases as well. Although the breakthrough has arrived, we still have a long way to go. We need more partners – more revolutionaries – to join the fight so that Penn's Abramson Cancer Center can design more treatments that put more patients' cancer into remission. Application of a Novel Cell Proliferation Biomarker in Cancer Drug Development: Immunoassay of Thymidine Kinase 1 in In-Vitro and In-Vivo Studies of Hematological and Solid Malignancies Presented at Drug Discovery 2018: https://www.labroots.com/virtual-event/drug-discovery-2018 Speaker: Martin Shaw - Business Development Manager at AroCell AB Between 1994-2015 he worked at EKF Diagnostics in Wales (formerly Argutus Medical) where he introduced and promoted a wide range of novel kidney and liver tests, including important biomarkers that are now being evaluated by the IMI (Innovative Medicines Initiative) and FDA as qualified for use in toxicological testing. He developed strong relationships with hospitals, clinical research organizations and pharmaceutical companies, including AstraZeneca, Sanofi Aventis, Pfizer, Novartis, Merck, Glaxo Smith Kline and Johnson and Johnson. From 1975-1992 Martin Shaw filled many technical and marketing roles at Pharmacia Diagnostics (now Thermo-Fisher). He and his coworkers developed and introduced the first commercial tests for neonatal hypothyroidism, celiac disease, and a range of novel biomarkers to monitor allergy and inflammation. Bringing testing close to the patient is important and Martin brings this experience from being Marketing Manager at Magnasense Technologies, Finland, where he introduced and promoted a novel point-of-care test system based on magnetically labelled antibodies. Martin has published several peer-reviewed articles on biomarkers and presented at many scientific congresses, including being guest speaker at the FDA. Application of a Novel Cell Proliferation Biomarker in Cancer Drug Development: Immunoassay of Thymidine Kinase 1 in In-Vitro and In-Vivo Studies of Hematological and Solid Malignancies There are many tumor biomarkers but, they mostly reflect tumor mass or past growth, when what is more important is to obtain an indication of future growth and therapy response. Proliferation biomarkers e.g. KI67, are mostly immunohistological biomarkers which limits their use. The ability to measure a proliferation biomarker in an easily available body fluid could reduce this problem and provide new opportunities for studying tumor growth and therapy response. Thymidine Kinase 1 (TK1) has the potential to be such as biomarker. This presentation will demonstrate how the immunoassay of TK1, using a unique monoclonal antibody directed against the TK 210 epitope (AroCell TK 210 ELISA) can provide new opportunities for the study of tumor growth, therapy response and in-vitro modelling of drug effects. Thymidine Kinase 1 (TK1) is a key enzyme in DNA synthesis and it is up-regulated in the S phase of cell growth. It is released into the extracellular medium and, eventually, the blood during cell turnover. TK1 enzyme activity has been used for many years as a biomarker for hematological malignancies but the complexity of the assay, plus the fact that much of serum TK1 is inactive has restricted its use, particularly for solid tumors. However, all TK1 forms express the TK 210 epitope. Earn PACE/CME Credits: 1. Make sure you’re a registered member of LabRoots: https://www.labroots.com/virtual-event/drug-discovery-2018 2. Bravehearts is currently supported by a growing number of women, including prominent personalities such as Abbygale Arenas-‐de Leon, who is the current president of the organization, Senator Loren Legarda, Pia Magalona, Ellen Tordesillas, Tessa Prieto-Valdes, Jeena Lopez, Maimai Davao, Joyette Jopson and Suzi Entrata. The organization has held successful seminars and projects with the help of its partner organizations and companies. One of its more prominent events is the biking event, The Tour of Hope (TTOH). The tour was introduced in the Philippines in 2008 through the collaboration of GlaxoSmithKline Philippines and the UP Cancer Institute Foundation's Cervical Cancer Prevention (CECAP) network program in strategic partnership with Team David's Salon, the first all woman sports team in the country. Since then, the Tour of Hope has become the largest anti-cervical cancer biking tour in the Philippines and has attracted varied supporters thru the years -- both from public and private sectors. TTOH has become Bravehearts' annual fund raising event and an opportunity to conduct lectures for cervical cancer prevention programs in the different municipalities/cities the tour passes. Just last year, TTOH was able to raise Php750, 000, and the fund was donated to CECAP where more than 200 cervical cancer vaccination was conducted for free to community health workers in selected provinces across the Philippines.

As the creator of memorable and successful charity events such as the California AIDSRide, in which participants biked 575-miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles over seven days, and the Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk, in which participants covered 55 miles over several days, Dan Pallotta has long been recognized as a trailblazer in philanthropic circles. He has raised hundreds of millions of dollars for various causes and brought huge amounts of publicity to any number of issues. In his groundbreaking new book, Uncharitable: How Restraints on Nonprofits Undermine Their Potential , Pallotta makes the case that the nonprofit sector needs to be deregulated so that it can directly harness the energy of capitalism and the profit motive in pursuit of philanthropy. Approximately nine minutes, this interview was conducted by Reason Foundation President David Nott and filmed and edited by Alex Manning.

On Wednesday, the fake charities Cancer Fund of America (CFA) and Cancer Support Services (CSS) were finally shut down. The charities were run by James Reynolds, Sr., were supposed to be using the majority of the over $75 million in donations they received to help cancer patients. But actually, according to a Georgia attorney, almost all of that money went to paying the staff, giving benefits to their friends and family, and holding events for donors. Mr. Reynolds is banned from working in any non profit organization going forward. He and his fake charitable organizations are required to pay out the $75,825,653 they received in donations. Most of that money will be gotten through shutting down the two fake charities. Only 3% of the money raised actually went to cancer patients. http://feeds.nbcnews.com/c/35002/f/663303/s/4e9d0c2b/sc/7/l/0L0Snbcnews0N0Cnews0Cus0Enews0Csham0Ecancer0Echarities0Eraked0E750Emillion0Eget0Eshut0Edown0En5480A86/story01.htm http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com

April 17, 2018 Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON — Canopy Growth Corporation ("Canopy Growth") or (“the Company”) (TSX: WEED) and Niagara College (“the College”) today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) to create new experience-based learning opportunities for college students and graduates. This valuable partnership will also support the increased workforce demand at Canopy Growth facilities across Canada and generate joint research and community engagement opportunities for the Niagara region, an area the Company has proudly called home since June 2014. Canopy Growth and Niagara College will work together to foster learning in this rapidly growing industry while also supporting graduates searching for job opportunities. Internship and co-op opportunities will be available for students in the College’s Commercial Cannabis Production, Horticultural Technician, Greenhouse Technician and Business programs, particularly at the Tweed Farms facility in Niagara-on-the-Lake, with additional placement opportunities available at Canopy Growth’s 13 other facilities across the country. Tweed Farms is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Canopy Growth and was the first greenhouse licensed in the sector under the MMPR/ACMPR. This partnership opens the door to applied research projects in business operations, plant sciences and greenhouse technology that will further the mission of both organizations. Canopy Growth and the College will also seek joint opportunities to educate the Niagara community on the emerging cannabis industry through participation in community events and consultations. “We’re proud to partner with such a progressive institution like Niagara College, who are leading the way in preparing their students for success in an rapidly expanding industry and build on the support the region has demonstrated since the time we acquired the site in 2014,” said Mark Zekulin, President, Canopy Growth. “As we continue our growth, it’s essential to find candidates and employees with industry-specific knowledge. We look forward to working with Niagara College to educate and invest in our future workforce as we build and define this exciting new industry.” In September 2018, Niagara College will launch its Commercial Cannabis Production Graduate Certificate Program, Canada’s first post-secondary credential in the production of commercial cannabis. Classes will be held at the College’s Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus in a state-of-the art, fully secure facility. Students will be trained in the cultivation and practices of cannabis production and will also possess the knowledge and skills to navigate the complex regulatory framework that governs the industry in Canada. “Niagara College prides itself on strong industry partnerships that allow us to offer our students exceptional hands-on learning opportunities. As an educational leader, we are always looking at emerging industries such as commercial cannabis production. We are expanding on our industry relationships to support new education and applied research opportunities across this rapidly growing industry.” said Dan Patterson, President, Niagara College. “Partnering with a world-leading organization like Canopy Growth will open up new career and development opportunities for our students and graduates and give them a head start in this very competitive market.” This announcement is timely as expansion efforts are well underway at Tweed Farms to bring the site from 350,000 sq. ft. to approximately 1,000,000 sq. ft. by renovating an existing 458,000 sq. ft. greenhouse on the adjacent property and building a brand new 212,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art greenhouse which has already been erected. The rapid expansion of production space speaks to the promise of this industry and to Canopy Growth Corporation’s commitment to the Niagara region. The recently signed MOU will be in effect for two years and is not legally binding on either partner. Here's to Future (Educational) Growth.

The National Breast Cancer Foundation is the leading community-funded organisation in Australia raising money for research into the prevention and cure of breast cancer. In total, since 1994, NBCF has awarded more than $127 million to around 430 Australian-based research projects to improve the health and well-being of those affected by breast cancer. We are very proud that the National Breast Cancer Foundation raises and grants funds exclusively for research, because we believe research is the most effective way to end breast cancer. We are also very proud of the fact that the National Breast Cancer Foundation has a commitment to funding research right across the spectrum – from understanding the fundamental basis of the disease to psychosocial research aimed at improving the quality of life for survivors. Our aspirational goal is to achieve zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030. With 42 Australians diagnosed each day and seven dying from the disease, there is still much to do.
