World Without Cancer - The Story of Vitamin B17 by G. Edward Griffin (1974)
G. Edward Griffin (born November 7, 1931) is an American author, lecturer, and filmmaker. He is the author of "World Without Cancer" where he argues that cancer is a nutritional deficiency that can be cured by consuming amygdalin, a view regarded as quackery by the medical community. He is an HIV/AIDS denialist, supports the 9/11 Truth movement, and supports John F. Kennedy assassination conspiracy theories. He believes Noah's Ark is located in Turkey at the Durupınar site. [...] In 1974, Griffin wrote and self-published the book "World Without Cancer" and released it as a video; its second edition appeared in 1997. In the book and the video, Griffin asserts that cancer is a metabolic disease like a vitamin deficiency facilitated by the insufficient dietary consumption of laetrile. He contends that "eliminating cancer through a nondrug therapy has not been accepted because of the hidden economic and power agendas of those who dominate the medical establishment" and he wrote, "at the very top of the world's economic and political pyramid of power there is a grouping of financial, political, and industrial interests that, by the very nature of their goals, are the natural enemies of the nutritional approaches to health". Since the 1970s, the use of laetrile to treat cancer has been identified in the scientific literature as a canonical example of quackery and has never been shown to be effective in the treatment or prevention of cancer. Emanuel Landau, then a Project Director for the APHA, wrote a book review for the American Journal of Public Health, which noted that Griffin "accepts the 'conspiracy' theory ... that policy-makers in the medical, pharmaceutical, research and fund-raising organizations deliberately or unconsciously strive not to prevent or cure cancer in order to perpetuate their functions". Landau concludes that although World Without Cancer "is an emotional plea for the unrestricted use of the Laetrile as an anti-tumor agent, the scientific evidence to justify such a policy does not appear within it". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G._Edward_Griffin Subscribe to wocomoDOCS for more documentaries in full length: https://goo.gl/q5GXI6 Follow wocomo on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/wocomo/

What is enterprise resilience?
Learn more at PwC.com - http://pwc.to/214XmHU Achieving rewards today requires taking greater risks that come from places and at times when you don’t expect them. Building and sustaining a resilient business is a commercial imperative – so your organisation isn’t left vulnerable. Enterprise resilience is like your corporate immune system. If it’s in good shape and something strikes, you can shrug it off. Organisations that enhance their immune system are able to endure challenges and bounce back more quickly. A strong immune system will also make your organisation fittest to jump furthest, most flexible to evolve, and able to see and seize opportunities ahead of competitors.

About the National Breast Cancer Foundation
The National Breast Cancer Foundation is the leading community-funded organisation in Australia raising money for research into the prevention and cure of breast cancer. In total, since 1994, NBCF has awarded more than $127 million to around 430 Australian-based research projects to improve the health and well-being of those affected by breast cancer. We are very proud that the National Breast Cancer Foundation raises and grants funds exclusively for research, because we believe research is the most effective way to end breast cancer. We are also very proud of the fact that the National Breast Cancer Foundation has a commitment to funding research right across the spectrum – from understanding the fundamental basis of the disease to psychosocial research aimed at improving the quality of life for survivors. Our aspirational goal is to achieve zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030. With 42 Australians diagnosed each day and seven dying from the disease, there is still much to do.

In these PSAs, Dak shares his story, in the hope of helping others to avoid the pain and loss that he, his mom, and his family endured. April 17, 2018 Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON — Canopy Growth Corporation ("Canopy Growth") or (“the Company”) (TSX: WEED) and Niagara College (“the College”) today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) to create new experience-based learning opportunities for college students and graduates. This valuable partnership will also support the increased workforce demand at Canopy Growth facilities across Canada and generate joint research and community engagement opportunities for the Niagara region, an area the Company has proudly called home since June 2014. Canopy Growth and Niagara College will work together to foster learning in this rapidly growing industry while also supporting graduates searching for job opportunities. Internship and co-op opportunities will be available for students in the College’s Commercial Cannabis Production, Horticultural Technician, Greenhouse Technician and Business programs, particularly at the Tweed Farms facility in Niagara-on-the-Lake, with additional placement opportunities available at Canopy Growth’s 13 other facilities across the country. Tweed Farms is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Canopy Growth and was the first greenhouse licensed in the sector under the MMPR/ACMPR. This partnership opens the door to applied research projects in business operations, plant sciences and greenhouse technology that will further the mission of both organizations. Canopy Growth and the College will also seek joint opportunities to educate the Niagara community on the emerging cannabis industry through participation in community events and consultations. “We’re proud to partner with such a progressive institution like Niagara College, who are leading the way in preparing their students for success in an rapidly expanding industry and build on the support the region has demonstrated since the time we acquired the site in 2014,” said Mark Zekulin, President, Canopy Growth. “As we continue our growth, it’s essential to find candidates and employees with industry-specific knowledge. We look forward to working with Niagara College to educate and invest in our future workforce as we build and define this exciting new industry.” In September 2018, Niagara College will launch its Commercial Cannabis Production Graduate Certificate Program, Canada’s first post-secondary credential in the production of commercial cannabis. Classes will be held at the College’s Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus in a state-of-the art, fully secure facility. Students will be trained in the cultivation and practices of cannabis production and will also possess the knowledge and skills to navigate the complex regulatory framework that governs the industry in Canada. “Niagara College prides itself on strong industry partnerships that allow us to offer our students exceptional hands-on learning opportunities. As an educational leader, we are always looking at emerging industries such as commercial cannabis production. We are expanding on our industry relationships to support new education and applied research opportunities across this rapidly growing industry.” said Dan Patterson, President, Niagara College. “Partnering with a world-leading organization like Canopy Growth will open up new career and development opportunities for our students and graduates and give them a head start in this very competitive market.” This announcement is timely as expansion efforts are well underway at Tweed Farms to bring the site from 350,000 sq. ft. to approximately 1,000,000 sq. ft. by renovating an existing 458,000 sq. ft. greenhouse on the adjacent property and building a brand new 212,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art greenhouse which has already been erected. The rapid expansion of production space speaks to the promise of this industry and to Canopy Growth Corporation’s commitment to the Niagara region. The recently signed MOU will be in effect for two years and is not legally binding on either partner. Here's to Future (Educational) Growth.

d-LIVER Commercial Opportunities
The goal of the d-LIVER project is to provide safe and cost-effective systems for continuous, context-aware, multi-parametric monitoring of both patient and Bio Artificial Liver (BAL) system parameters in order to: enhance the quality of medical treatment and management; improve the quality of life for patients; reduce the incidence and duration of hospitalization and consequently reduce the health economic burden of chronic liver disease. d-LIVER will facilitate improved treatment whilst enabling patients to spend more time at home under constant, albeit remote, medical supervision. We are now seeking contact to commercial organizations that will help us move the developed components and systems into commercial products and into the medical market place. www.d-liver.eu The d-LIVER project received funding from the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7/2007-2013) under grant agreement no. 287596

We are happy to announce this will be one of our annual campaigns that will surely get bigger and better… As you are aware Breast Cancer is one of the leading causes of Cancer among women. There are many government and private organizations who work together for spreading awareness among the general public regarding breast cancer. There are two different types of breast cancer, known as Ductal and Lobular. Ductal cancer starts at the ducts or openings which bring the milk to the nipples and lobular cancer starts at the lobules which produce the milk. Although there are many different causes of breast cancer, the most common ones are exposure to radiation and harmful synthetic chemicals and in some cases it may be caused by surgical silicone implants. There are certain women who are more susceptible to certain forms of breast cancer due to their genotype or genetic makeup. Breast cancer generally spreads much faster in these women. Also women are hundred times more likely to get breast cancer than men and women who have undergone hormone replacement therapy with estrogen are far more likely to get breast cancer than other women. Family histories of breast cancer, obesity, multiple child birth, having late menopause or early menstrual cycle are also risk factors for breast cancer. As you probably may know already, it is the spreading of the cancer which kills the patient and not the cancer cells themselves. Cancer cells are weak and their cellular processes are anaerobic, which means they do not rely upon oxygen for providing energy. Also cancer cells cannot form a tumor on their own. Cancer cells just sit upon healthy tissue and absorb all the vital nutrients thus causing slow and multiple cellular death in those vital organs or tissue. The presence of cancer cells in a human body is carcinoma and the spreading of cancer cells is termed as metastases. When metastases occur throughout the body then it is more dangerous for the body and the patient is likely to collapse more easily. The best way to detect a breast cancer is through a routine mammogram. If the affected women experience unnatural lumps or painful swellings then it is time to consult with their doctor and then opt for a mammogram. A mammogram certainly helps in the early detection of the malady and the earlier breast cancer is detected the better it is for the patient. In conventional medicine the standard regimen is to treat cancer with chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. Chemotherapy consists of using synthetic or semi synthetic chemical or biological agents for the killing fast growing cells. Since cancer a cell are all fast growing anaerobic cells, chemotherapy targets and kills these cells. Radiation therapy uses radioisotopes such Cobalt 60 to provide radioactive rays to the cancer cells and kill them slowly. Surgery, of course, is the surgical removal of cancer affected tissue or organ. In breast cancer surgery is often the last option, which results in the complete removal of one or both the breasts to stop the spreading of cancer. Private companies are now teaming up with nationally renowned agencies such as American Cancer Society to spread awareness about breast cancer among the general public. Even after decades of awareness campaigns breast cancer is still the leading cause of cancer among women. L’avant Garde Hair had recently launched a big awareness campaign which elicited a lot of good response from the public. They also launched a buy 2 get 1 free sales promotion for the interested public and a good percentage of the sales proceeds were contributed as donation to the Susan G. Komen-Connecticut.

I had a black dog, his name was depression
At its worst, depression can be a frightening, debilitating condition. Millions of people around the world live with depression. Many of these individuals and their families are afraid to talk about their struggles, and don't know where to turn for help. However, depression is largely preventable and treatable. Recognizing depression and seeking help is the first and most critical towards recovery. In collaboration with WHO to mark World Mental Health Day, writer and illustrator Matthew Johnstone tells the story of overcoming the "black dog of depression". Application of Novel Proliferation Biomarker in Cancer Drug Development...
Application of a Novel Cell Proliferation Biomarker in Cancer Drug Development: Immunoassay of Thymidine Kinase 1 in In-Vitro and In-Vivo Studies of Hematological and Solid Malignancies Presented at Drug Discovery 2018: https://www.labroots.com/virtual-event/drug-discovery-2018 Speaker: Martin Shaw - Business Development Manager at AroCell AB Between 1994-2015 he worked at EKF Diagnostics in Wales (formerly Argutus Medical) where he introduced and promoted a wide range of novel kidney and liver tests, including important biomarkers that are now being evaluated by the IMI (Innovative Medicines Initiative) and FDA as qualified for use in toxicological testing. He developed strong relationships with hospitals, clinical research organizations and pharmaceutical companies, including AstraZeneca, Sanofi Aventis, Pfizer, Novartis, Merck, Glaxo Smith Kline and Johnson and Johnson. From 1975-1992 Martin Shaw filled many technical and marketing roles at Pharmacia Diagnostics (now Thermo-Fisher). He and his coworkers developed and introduced the first commercial tests for neonatal hypothyroidism, celiac disease, and a range of novel biomarkers to monitor allergy and inflammation. Bringing testing close to the patient is important and Martin brings this experience from being Marketing Manager at Magnasense Technologies, Finland, where he introduced and promoted a novel point-of-care test system based on magnetically labelled antibodies. Martin has published several peer-reviewed articles on biomarkers and presented at many scientific congresses, including being guest speaker at the FDA. Application of a Novel Cell Proliferation Biomarker in Cancer Drug Development: Immunoassay of Thymidine Kinase 1 in In-Vitro and In-Vivo Studies of Hematological and Solid Malignancies There are many tumor biomarkers but, they mostly reflect tumor mass or past growth, when what is more important is to obtain an indication of future growth and therapy response. Proliferation biomarkers e.g. KI67, are mostly immunohistological biomarkers which limits their use. The ability to measure a proliferation biomarker in an easily available body fluid could reduce this problem and provide new opportunities for studying tumor growth and therapy response. Thymidine Kinase 1 (TK1) has the potential to be such as biomarker. This presentation will demonstrate how the immunoassay of TK1, using a unique monoclonal antibody directed against the TK 210 epitope (AroCell TK 210 ELISA) can provide new opportunities for the study of tumor growth, therapy response and in-vitro modelling of drug effects. Thymidine Kinase 1 (TK1) is a key enzyme in DNA synthesis and it is up-regulated in the S phase of cell growth. It is released into the extracellular medium and, eventually, the blood during cell turnover. TK1 enzyme activity has been used for many years as a biomarker for hematological malignancies but the complexity of the assay, plus the fact that much of serum TK1 is inactive has restricted its use, particularly for solid tumors. However, all TK1 forms express the TK 210 epitope. Earn PACE/CME Credits: 1. Make sure you’re a registered member of LabRoots: https://www.labroots.com/virtual-event/drug-discovery-2018 2. BinkeezLove {the message} in Chicago
North Grafton, Mass.) January 14, 2014 -- Sammy's Superheroes a 501(c)3 non-profit from Columbus, Nebraska has partnered with Binkeez for Comfort (BFC) and Peach's Neet Feet (PNF) to gift forward 20 blankets a month to pediatric oncology patients. The collaboration of organizations has been titled The Message, with the purpose that together they can provide comfort, kindness & awareness. Included with the Sammy Superheroes Binkeez blanket will be a PNF color-your-heart away pillowcase, a children's book and educational information. The blending of these 3 non-profits started with a pair of shoes. Madison Steiner, founder of PNF reflects on what painting personalized shoes for children means. "As I am sitting and painting a pair shoes, I realize they aren't "just another pair of shoes to paint" but much, much more. All of the shoes we paint become more than just an average pair of shoes. A small, blank canvas is just the start of something gigantic; a journey of unique compassion and blind kindness; a shoelace, weaving in and out of each eyelet, each time connecting tired souls, tying an awkwardly beautiful bow of family and community at the top. They aren't really magic, no, but souls that fill them are nothing less than fearless sparks of hope and gumption...just have to believe in it." Sammy Nahorny was 4 years old in July of 2012 when he was diagnosed with Stage IV High-Risk Neuroblastoma. His treatment for the disease brought him to Boston Children's Hospital. Sammy had a pair of shoes painted by PNF. When Steiner learned that Sammy was inpatient at BCH, she reached out to Susan Posterro the founder of BFC so that a Binkeez blanket could be given to him. Posterro did not meet Sammy or his family, because they were in isolation, but dropped off the blanket at a nursing station. This blanket has been a source of comfort for Sammy throughout his on-going fight against cancer, the number one cause of death by disease in children. Sammy's Superheroes was founded to bring awareness to the realities of childhood cancer and to raise funds for life-saving research. As Sammy continues his battle, the Sammy's Superheroes organization is working to raise awareness of all childhood cancers. Throughout Sammy's journey with cancer there have been a few special organizations that have provided the Nahorny family with gifts of love and comfort. Two of those organizations were Binkeez for Comfort and Peach's Neet Feet. By partnering with them, Sammy's Superheroes will be able to reach out to other families who are devastated by the news that their child has cancer while providing them comfort and hope for cures. For more information about Binkeez for Comfort, to request a Binkeez for a loved one, or to make a donation, visit www.binkeezforcomfort.org. For more information about this story, contact Jennifer at jen@binkeezforcomfort.org. # # # Binkeez for Comfort ("BFC") makes and delivers blankets and other items with the intention of bringing comfort to individuals experiencing health issues, particularly children in hospitals and hospice facilities in the United States of America. These blankets (and other items) are either delivered in person or through the mail based upon the request of the recipient (or recipient's caregivers). Blankets are made primarily by the BFC volunteer base. Making and delivering blankets is the primary focus of BFC. BFC is funded through personal donations, fundraising activities and grants.
