If you've ever been in charge of ordering custom printed t-shirts, you know it can take a lot of work! From designing a logo, to finding a printer and even choosing which t-shirt to have the design printed on, the process can either make or break the experience for you! As the founder of an online custom t-shirt company, Coedmonkey.com, Bill Svoboda gives a few pointers to help you not only decide on the right shirt, but choose one that will represent your brand... making people want to wear and talk about it well-past your event. In 2004 Bill Svoboda started Coed Monkey, an online custom t-shirt company out of his dorm room because of an order-gone-bad. Who knew that ten years later it would turn into a million dollar business with clients ranging from Silicon Valley startups to college residence halls, and everyone in between? But he's not the normal t-shirt salesman peddling one-time use t-shirts that begin on your back and end in the trash can. Instead, he has created a company that is focused on two things... soft fabric and tailored fits. Bill always says, "you don't need to advertise a good party," so he takes pride knowing that his company is helping canvas the world with custom printed shirts that people actually want to wear, sparking conversations. Beyond t-shirts, Bill is also passionate about coffee, supporting local businesses (especially restaurants), finding good deals on name brand clothes and late night trips to the salad bar at Whole Foods. Click here to SUBSCRIBE to the official This Old House YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=thisoldhouse Steps: 1. When using computerized equipment, begin by designing the finished piece using a 3D CAD program. 2. A laser printer is often used for etching metal and glass, but it can also be used for making a physical model using plywood. 3. A 3D printer can prototype smaller sections of the design, like where two joints come together and how stock hardware interfaces with the 3D model. 4. A water jet uses a high-pressure stream of water mixed with garnet to cut the aluminum legs and base, including countersinks, mortises, and tenons. 5. A CNC router can mill the wood top using several different cutter heads. 6. The final assembly takes place by hand. Resources: Tom visited Autodesk at Pier 9 (https://www.autodesk.com/pier-9). Digital Payments Ballroom, Serena Hotel Digital payments create a compelling value proposition that will significantly contribute to the growth of African economies. They make payments efficient, faster and more transparent. In the Vision 2020, Rwanda set out to become a knowledge-based economy. Further, in the EDPRS plans that set specific targets to have at least 90% of Rwandan adults with access to formal financial services by 2017 (up from 47% in 2012) and an inclusive and cashlite economy. In the last 3 years the Government of Rwanda in partnership with financial institutions have worked to build a strong foundation for electronic payments resulting in the country now being part of global interoperable payment systems. Mobile money services are growing financial inclusion and electronic payments swiftly as evidenced by the number of users and the total volumes in mobile transactions. As a result more Rwandans are financially included. Additionally, POSs have grown from 40 in 2012 to over 1,000 today adding to the increase in electronic payments steadily. There are over 4.5 millions mobile payments subscribers; over 13,000 mobile money agents; over 500 bank branches + over 1000 bank agents and over 350 ATMs that giving more Rwandans have more access to places to digitize and access their monies. In 2013, Rwanda became the first country in the world to achieve interoperable mobile payments with the launch of mVISA – the world’s first mobile interoperable mobile payments platform that allows banks to reach underserved and unbanked populations. Despite all these achievements, cash transactions continue to dominate the economy. The increased access points of agents, ATMs and branches, while increasing the places to digitize cash are also increasing more cash in our economy hence retarding the country’s cashlite goals; placing a huge burden on our treasury and on our Central bank to continue printing cash, which is very expensive. With a great foundation laid we have the achievable task to bring more Rwandans into the formal financial sector and fast track our economic transformation/development by growing digital payments. This session will discuss the challenges hindering the adoption and growth of digital payments; the opportunities we have and specific initiatives that can be undertaken to achieve a digitized economy to make Rwanda SMART. Moderator: Gavin Krugel, Vice President for emerging market Digital – CEMEA, Visa Inc. Speakers: • Pitchette Kampeta Sayinzoga, Permanent Secretary/Secretary to the Treasury, Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, Rep. of Rwanda • Nick Meakin, Director, Urwego Opportunity Bank, Rwanda • Ebenezer Asante, CEO, MTN Rwanda • Yan Kwizera, Country Manager, Kaymu Ltd

http://socialcommerceblueprint.com Who has the best prepaid cell plans in the US? Is it Solavei, Straight Talk, or Metro PCS? H2O Wireless or Boost Mobile? Find the best value for prepaid wireless here! The Best prepaid cellular plans reviewed Who has the Best Prepaid Cellular Plan in the US? Focus on the Following when choosing your prepaid cellular carrier. 1. Coverage - Verizon and AT&T have countless commercials focused on coverage everywhere, all the time. That's simply not reality. Every cellular carrier has good coverage, almost everywhere. Focus on where you live, where you travel most often, and don't sweat the 1 time a year you travel into the boonies! 2. Data Plan - One of the big advantages of prepaid cellular plans is that they have a set cost for talk, text, and data. But how much data and how fast? Nearly all prepaid cellular carriers limit you on data transfer, and speed. It could be "Unlimited" data, but at 2G speeds. 3. Price - If you don't use your phone much, you may not need an Unlimited plan. My Mom uses a $30 plan and it works fine for her. Depending on your needs, how much Data you use, read the fine print to make sure you're actually getting the most you can for your money. 4. Customer Service - Prepaid Cellular companies don't have a lot of customer service issues at all. Today prepaid cellular customers typically buy phones on Craigslist or Ebay, swap SIM cards out, and keep on truckin. Cellular Phone service is a commodity now and it shouldn't be a hassle. Here's my list of the Top 10 Prepaid Cellular Companies in the US with a Focus on their Unlimited Plans, Data Speeds, and Monthly Cost: 1. Solavei Wireless - For $49 a Month you get Unlimited Talk, Text, and 4 GB Monthly of 4G Data with no overage charges. If you go over 4GB, you simply slow down to 3G speeds. They also pay you for referrals to other customers, and give you a free income generating business simply by being a customer. They use the T-Mobile Nationwide Network so the coverage is great for me. They only have one Unlimited Everything plan, but with the ability to eliminate your phone bill or make extra income, it totally works for me! 2. Straight Talk - Walmart sells Straight Talk and they typically utilize the T-Mobile Network when possible. It's only $45 a month for Unlimited Talk, Text and Data though it isn't clear on how much 4G transfer you get monthly. I believe it's 1 GB monthly of 4G, then it goes to 3G or 2G speeds. Very good price and value, but they don't pay referrals like Solavei for the exact same thing. 3. H2O Wireless - H2O Wireless uses the AT&T Network so their coverage is extremely good for both voice and data. Their prepaid unlimited rate plan has 2 GB of Data for $60 per month, which is pretty solid for the coverage they offer. 4. Virgin Mobile - The Virgin Mobile prepaid plans are some of the most diverse in the industry. They use the Sprint Network so coverage is pretty good Nationally. Their $55 Unlimited Plan has 2.5 GB of Transfer at 3/4G Speeds per month, and many other plans from $30-45 a month depending on what you need. 5. Simple Mobile - Simple Mobile has 3 "Simple" Prepaid cellular plans that use the T-Mobile network as well. Their best plan is $50 for Unlimited Talk, Text, and 4G Data. Simple Mobile is one of the best prepaid cellular plans for value you will find. 6. Metro PCS - I'm not a huge fan of their Coverage, but in their Metro markets they offer a decent value. Their $40 Unlimited Talk & Text Plan has 500 MB of data (not a lot), $50 Plan has 2.5 GB of Data, and $60 is Unlimited Data. 7. Boost Mobile - Boost uses the Sprint and Nextel wireless network so coverage is decent. Their Android Unlimited plan includes 2.5 GB of Full-Speed Data transfer (very limited 4G coverage area) and is $55 per month. 8. Cricket Wireless - Cricket Wireless uses the Sprint Network and their own for coverage in most cases though I'm not a huge fan. They have two Unlimited Talk, Text, and Data Plans for $50 with 1 GB of Full Speed Data, and $60 for 2.5 GB Full Speed. 9. Page Plus - Page Plus uses the Verizon Network so coverage is excellent in rural markets. However, Verizon is stingy with their prepaid offerings and the speeds are only 2G. Their $55 Unlimited Plan includes 2 GB of Data, which is "ok" but I wouldn't recommend them at all in most metro markets. 10. Net 10 - Net 10 uses both AT&T & T-Mobile for GSM, and Verizon, Alltel, and US Cellular for CDMA coverage so that is a plus. The Unlimited price is $50 but for what? Website is the worst in the prepaid cellular industry. The value of an insurance broker is evident when a small business owner has his or her back against the wall. A week or longer without trade is often a disaster and SME owners often need emergency assistance to get their business back up and running. Which is why NIBATV has demonstrated the essential support a broker can deliver when a business owner’s livelihood is threatened. MBE Print owner Charles Batt was in shock one morning when he found his printing business in the heart of Parramatta covered in soot from a fire that broke out in the café next door. With vital equipment covered in soot, Batt immediately thought he would be out of business for at least a week. With the stress and realisation his livelihood was under threat Batt turned to his broker, who immediately started turning the situation around.

In this episode we’re joined by Dr. Jaim Nulman. He’s the Chief Technology Officer and EVP of Products at Nano Dimension, a leading additive electronics provider which trades on the NASDAQ under ticker NNDM. Dr. Nulman, who was appointed earlier this year, is a proven influencer and innovator with more than 30 years of expertise in working with companies from startups to Fortune 500 enterprises. He served as Vice President of Applied Materials, where he spent 15 years in several product divisions and corporate positions. He drove the successful commercialization of one of Applied Materials' semiconductor manufacturing products with impressive market penetration of $1 billion in less than five years. Nano Dimension is a leading additive manufacturing technology company. They are disrupting, reshaping and defining the future of how smart products are made. With its unique 3D printing technologies, Nano Dimension is targeting the growing demand for smart products such as sensors, 3D antennas and other electronics circuitry that require increasingly sophisticated features and rely on printed electronics circuitry. Nano Dimension elevates industry 4.0 by making additive manufacturing complete with 3D printing of smart products and 3D printed electronics. Numbers don’t lie. The overall market predictions for 3D printing are very attractive for the foreseeable future. According to Market and Markets, the industry is expected to have a $32.78 billion value by the year 2023, with an annual growth rate of 25.76 percent between 2018 and then. This growth is attributed to the factors such as the ease of development of customized products, ability to reduce overall manufacturing costs, and government investments in the 3D printing projects for the development and deployment of the technology. The current market trends in 3D printing indicate there will be a growing need for innovative solutions like the Dragonfly 2020 and DragonFly 2020 Pro 3D printers. Nano’s patented 3D printing technology is therefore well positioned to grab market share and build value for shareholders. In this video, we give you some detailed instructions on how to make an easy raspberry pi powered home smart mirror. A smart mirror displays applications so that you can check the weather, local news, etc. while you are getting ready in the morning. It's also modular, so you can easy move it around or hang it on the wall if you like. We've created a basic application that you can run on the smart mirror, but it's totally customizable if you want to write some of your own code. SIGN UP FOR TWIST EPISODES MAILING LIST: http://bit.ly/twistemail Airtable Co-founder Howie Liu raises $52m Series B for his smart spreadsheets, launches “Blocks” customizable apps to supercharge database insights, shares lessons as a 2nd-time founder & vision for the ultimate workflow. Show Notes: 02:15 - Jason introduces Howie Liu, co-founder and CEO of Airtable. Howie says his team doesn’t think of Airtable as a productivity company but as a platform that powers creators. Jason lists some of the investors that have contributed $62M to date. 04:34 - Howie describes how different users employ Airtable, as he finds this more useful for prospective users than any single-sentence pitch. The platform includes a database, task management, pipeline visualization, more. It’s used by farmers to manage livestock, by media companies to manage their content-planning workflows, more. 07:11 - Howie explains that Airtable inherits the best aspects of spreadsheets, which are optimized for number crunching, but enables users to build custom solutions depending on applications. They can attach files, integrate tasks with calendars, more. 10:33 - Howie covers competition, noting there is no direct equivalent to Airtable. Google Sheets and Excel are the most obvious competitors, but they don’t really compare when it comes to features. Howie says Airtable’s solution is 10 times better for many use cases. In some cases, Airtable provides control and customizations that custom software solutions do not. 15:03 - Jason asks how Howie became so interested in spreadsheets and improving them. Howie says he’s not excited by the spreadsheet itself, but by what people can do with them, including building custom workflows. 17:28 - Howie demonstrates Airtable, explaining the layout and detailing the features not found in other spreadsheet apps. His demonstration table is an events management project by a music festival company. He explains how Airtable can share and pull data so projects always access a canonical source of, for example, current staff (all projects referencing the staff Airtable stay up to date). 22:34 - Howie breaks down pricing: for self-serve: $10 per user per month for the Plus plan, $20 per user per month for the Pro plan (both tiers paid a year in advance); for enterprise: $60 per user per month. The enterprise plan adds expanded usage limits, additional administrative control, the ability to use the company’s authentication system so IT can provision users without creating new accounts, etc. 23:36 - Jason laments missing the chance to invest in Airtable’s early rounds. Howie describes the simple state of the app at the time of Series A. He says the team has been unhappy with the company’s valuation at each funding stage and still feels Airtable is undervalued due to the total addressable market and the company’s path to reach it. 28:08 - Jason thanks sponsor LinkedIn. TWiST listeners can get $100 in advertising credits by visiting https://linkedin.com/thisweekinstartups. 31:28 - Jason speaks about investors who spend too much time away from work and Jason and Howie recall their working vacations. 34:32 - Howie explains nonprofit Samasource, which works to create jobs in areas that need economic development. Samasource will, for example, outsource american digitization projects to computer labs in Uganda. 35:57: Howie talks about the importance of the free version of Airtable in terms of educating the public on the product. 37:49: Howie explains Blocks, which are apps that run on top of Airtable. Currently, only Blocks developed by Airtable are available. Eventually, the platform will be open to third-party developers. Howie demonstrates a Maps Block, which uses data from Airtable to auto-generate maps (can display locations of events, more). Blocks are embeddable and display up-to-date data. 44:29 - Howie covers a Block for designing custom print layouts that use database information and a Block that uses Google’s Cloud Vision API to label and describe images. He confirms Zappier and IFTTT integration. Users cannot email data directly to Airtable yet, but Zappier integration makes that possible. 53:17 - Howie explains Blocks that will enable Airtable to automatically send emails and SMS. For example, to remind an employee of the next day’s work schedule. 54:12 Jason asks about the marketing strategy for a product that can be difficult to grasp for the uninitiated. Howie says word of mouth has been significant in Airtable’s success. Users who are enthusiastic about practical applications ultimately draw contacts and coworkers in. 57:16: Howie explains why the Airtable app store is currently limited to Airtable-built apps: in part to establish a standard of quality. Ultimately plans to split revenue with third-party developers. More: http://thisweekinstartups.com

Why do we turn to nonprofits, NGOs and governments to solve society's biggest problems? Michael Porter admits he's biased, as a business school professor, but he wants you to hear his case for letting business try to solve massive problems like climate change and access to water. Why? Because when business solves a problem, it makes a profit -- which lets that solution grow. When you hear the word "drone," you probably think of something either very useful or very scary. But could they have aesthetic value? Autonomous systems expert Raffaello D'Andrea develops flying machines, and his latest projects are pushing the boundaries of autonomous flight — from a flying wing that can hover and recover from disturbance to an eight-propeller craft that's ambivalent to orientation ... to a swarm of tiny coordinated micro-quadcopters. Prepare to be dazzled by a dreamy, swirling array of flying machines as they dance like fireflies above the TED stage. The Business Model Canvas - 9 Steps to Creating a Successful Business Model - Startup Tips The Business Model Canvas, is a strategic management and entrepreneurial tool. It allows you to describe, design, challenge, invent, and pivot your business model. The Business Model Canvas is comprised of 9 key segments: The left hand section of the Business Model Canvas is the Infrastructure section and comprises three key areas: Key Activities: The most important activities in executing a company's value proposition. Key Resources: The resources that are necessary to create value for the customer. Partner Network: In order to optimize operations and reduce risks of a business model, organization usually cultivate buyer-supplier relationships so they can focus on their core activity. The middle section of the canvas describes the business offering and is the value proposition delivered to different customer segments. Value Propositions: The collection of products and services a business offers to meet the needs of its customers. According to Osterwalder, (2004), a company's value proposition is what distinguishes itself from its competitors. The value proposition provides value through various elements such as newness, performance, customization, "getting the job done", design, brand/status, price, cost reduction, risk reduction, accessibility, and convenience/usability. The value propositions may be: Quantitative – price and efficiency Qualitative – overall customer experience and outcome The right hand side of the Business Model Canvas describes the customers, the channels through which you deliver services and and the relationships you have with your customers. Customer Segments: To build an effective business model, a company must identify which customers it tries to serve. Various sets of customers can be segmented based on the different needs and attributes to ensure appropriate implementation of corporate strategy meets the characteristics of selected group of clients. Channels: A company can deliver its value proposition to its targeted customers through different channels. Effective channels will distribute a company’s value proposition in ways that are fast, efficient and cost effective. An organization can reach its clients either through its own channels (store front), partner channels (major distributors), or a combination of both. Customer Relationships: To ensure the survival and success of any businesses, companies must identify the type of relationship they want to create with their customer segments. The bottom section of the canvas describes the finances. Cost Structure: This describes the most important monetary consequences while operating under different business models. A company's DOC. Revenue Streams: The way a company makes income from each customer segment. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIypuA7lS-FsVG6cMlNCK2w?sub_confirmation=1 Check out some of our other videos Compensation claims - how long should it take https://youtu.be/NuxfrgSTg78 LLC vs S Corp https://youtu.be/4xNCnf9hitw Minizing tax https://youtu.be/ybSnFb6rx6Y How to fund a startup https://youtu.be/ctzDb59sw5M Kickstarter success Ep 1 https://youtu.be/2EG78JNZ7nA Kickstarter success Ep 2 https://youtu.be/ZMlq5CmUNz8 How to pitch to investors with Guy Kawasaki https://youtu.be/-epR-uGlv4M If you are interested in sustainability issues then check this video out The Sustainable Business Model Canvas https://youtu.be/gVimMEI2u2w

LeEco Super3 Max65, Super3 X65 and Super3 X55 Smart TVs First Impressions All of the LeEco Super TVs support 4K video, and are smart televisions, running on LeEco’s eUI 5.5 interface, layered over Android Lollipop. It is worth noting that the OS isn’t actually Android TV, but a fork of Android, using eUI. While the Max65 and X65 cost Rs. 1,49,790 and Rs. 99,790 respectively, it is the X55 that really makes a difference. The 55-inch 4K TV costs Rs. 59,790, making it one of the cheapest smart TVs in the market. At least on first impressions, the X55 has the potential to be a true game changer in the Indian market. It’s smart, and most importantly, the UI is extremely fast. Considering the fact that none of the Smart TV OSs have support for a lot of apps, eUI’s speed is a big factor in why the LeEco Super3 X55 seems so good. The TVs run on a 1.4GHz Cortex A17 SoC, and the seamlessness of the OS is something that is missing from Smart TVs, even at Rs. 60,000. There are lots of ways to make money online, but in this video I'm going to give you my top 3 "BEST" ways to do it. Why do I need to include "BEST" in quotations? Because best can be defined in many different ways. For some, it means the fastest way to make money online. For others, it's what makes you the most money. My definition of best has 3 qualifiers: ✔️Digital Product (so that it can be created and sold/distributed again and again without the hassle of creating actual physical products, shipping, returns, etc.) ✔️Recurring Income (so that you can continued to get paid over and over again from the same customers) ✔️Scalable (so that it can grow with your business) The three examples I give that meet all these qualifiers (in different ways) + a mistake that I personally made with each (so you don't make the same mistake, too): 👉1.
