This is a video of the upper airway of a smoker. He has a cancer of the hypopharynx (throat) or more specifically a right pyriform cancer. It was staged as T2N2b (or Stage IV disease) He presented with enlarged neck lymph nodes. This was treated with radiotherapy and chemotherapy and he is now 3 years following treatment and free of any disease. He continues to smoke, unfortunately, as is aware that this increases his risk or cancer recurrence and also new cancers developing in the throat and lung!

Damion Smith is known for his deep, resonant voice. So when he lost is voice in June 2016, he decided to visit his doctor and he was diagnosed with laryngitis. But the medications didn’t work, and his voice was getting worse, so he went to an ear, nose and throat specialist (ENT). He found a growth on Damion's left vocal cord and took a biopsy. The biopsy revealed cancer and Damion was referred to MD Anderson where he was diagnosed with throat cancer – specifically, primary squamous cell carcinoma of glottis. After seven chemotherapy cycles and 35 days of radiation, Damion credits his doctors, nurses and staff for getting him through this tough journey, but also credits keeping a positive attitude. But it returned a couple of years later in an advanced stage. Her voice gradually disappeared. Though her voice box had to be removed, a prosthesis was implanted at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Atlanta. Doctors there told her she would talk again. I was so happy to hear that, said cancer survivors Joy Williams. It's just been a wonderful thing to happen that her voice is started coming back, said Marshall Williams, Joy's husband. Before long, Joy should be able to talk without touching her throat. As for her overall health, she remains cancer free.

Hi Everyone, This is my first time making a YouTube, I got a bit nervous & emotional but my intent is to give others HOPE, so please overlook my mistakes & delivery. My Story in brief: (Book to follow) Monday 16th December 2013 I had been complaining of a small niggling pain on my left side around my ribs for a few days but nothing too bad. I’d had an hour massage on the previous Friday so I thought that I was just feeling the after effects of that. As the days went on when I took a big deep breath I did have slight pain on my left side. So I got it checked out. On Thursday 19th December 2013 an ED Doctor found a mass on my left lung after a chest X-Ray this was quickly followed by CT with contrast. The ED Doctor came out & motioned for us to come into her office & sit down not saying a word. She opened the conversation with I’m so very sorry…..what?? I’m so very sorry. There appears to be a sizable mass in your left lung – what? What is it? Have you ever smoked? What? No? Never! The look on the Doctors face said it all. There seemed to be silence, just her looking at me & time seemed to be slowed down somehow. She kept saying sorry, sorry to give you this news so close to Christmas. What? She said she has contacted a Respiratory Registrar to come down to see me to book in for a biopsy of the mass. My head was spinning! I recall saying a number of times, what? No? What? I don’t smoke, I never have, what? Well we can remove it right? What? It’s like I could hear myself saying the same thing over & over but I couldn’t stop. But I’m so healthy. What? No? It really did feel like she was talking about someone else. It didn’t feel real. I was thinking to myself, it will be fine, Doctors will operate & take it out somehow, and it will be fine. But it wasn’t fine. After several attempts to biopsy the tumour, finally on Monday 13th January 2014 the Doctors were able to get a sample via a CT guided chest/lung biopsy through my back. The X-Ray taken 4 hours after to check the lung, showed a minor haemorrhage around the left lung mass & as a bonus they managed to give me a pneumothorax (partially collapsed lung). Wednesday 15th January we got the results, Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (adenocarcinoma) & a PET SCAN was booked to see if it had spread. As I was a non-smoker the Doctors were convinced that the lung would not be my primary. Friday 17th January 2014 – PET SCAN. The lung was the primary, 5cm mass, 2 lymph nodes in the chest & one in the base of the neck, fluid around my heart, and cancer in the pleura or lining of the lung. The Doctors told me as it had spread to the lining of my lung & lymph nodes they classified me as stage IV Terminal Lung Cancer with a prognosis of 6-9mth to live. Thursday 30th January 2014 1st chemo (5hrs) Thursday 6th February 2014 2nd Chemo (1hour) Friday 14th February 2014 we found out that the biopsy taken was EGFR positive mutation, so no more chemo, yah! Thursday 20th February 2014 start TARCEVA 150mg tablets (Erlotinib) Tuesday 25th February 2014 start juicing heaps of fresh cannabis leaves Wednesday 26th February 2014 my Husband cooked 1st batch of cannabis oil Sunday 20th April 2014 my Husband cooked 2nd batch of cannabis oil Tuesday 22nd April 2014 we received cannabis oil from an experienced Medical Cannabis activist that was prepared to help Tuesday 20th May 2014 we started experimenting with suppositories & eventually by mixing .5ml of organic coconut oil with .5ml cannabis oil in a 1ml syringe just straight up & in we call it ‘the backdoor method’. I believe that this was our break through & also with this method I experienced no ‘high’ & was able to have the full 1ml of cannabis oil per day as what was recommended for an aggressive cancer. A short talk about cancers that affect men and how early diagnosis saves lives. Professor Christopher Nutting, who runs the mouth and throat cancer unit at the Royal Marsden Hospital, was speaking at a star-studded fashion ball in support of a charity aimed at increasing cancer awareness among men. One For The Boys is chaired by Hollywood star Samuel L Jackson who has urged men to “Love The Glove” and make sure they have regular checks. The ball, at Camden’s Roundhouse, was attended by a host of celebrities who took to the catwalk in support of the cause – among them John Newman, Richard Roundtree, Luke Wilson, Taron Egerton, John Bishop, Ray Stevenson and Alice Cooper. Speaking from the catwalk himself, Professor Nutting pointed out that half the population will get cancer at some point in their lives and over 50% of those diagnosed with the disease can expect to be cured of it. But he said although cancer is more common in women, more men die from the disease. “Much of this is due to late diagnosis because of a lack of awareness of worrying symptoms and in men a tendency to shrug off symptoms as unimportant. Most men have a “cancer does not happen to us attitude”, Prof Nutting said. He added: “Did you know that even now in the UK 1 in 4 cases of cancer is not diagnosed until the patient reaches an Accident and Emergency Department with symptoms that have been present for weeks or months and that usually represent a very advanced cancer. “Early diagnosis definitely saves lives. “For example bowel cancer found early at Stage I has a 74% chance of long term cure, but this drops to only 6% if detected later at Stage IV. The same is true for many other common cancers such as prostate cancer, head and neck cancer and lung cancer which are major health risks for men.” Late diagnosis also means more aggressive treatment particularly with gruelling chemotherapy and radiation. “I specialise in mouth and throat cancer. A small cancer of your larynx (or voice box) can be cured with a 30 minute laser surgery operation, but if it grows to be large it may need 6 weeks of intensive chemotherapy and radiation to treat it.” For more information about Professor Nutting visit www.chrisnutting.com

CINCINNATI (Larry Davis) -- He never smoked a day in his life, but a long-time college football referee found himself battling throat cancer. Bobby Ables lost his voice, but he now has it back thanks to doctors at UC Health and the Barret Cancer Center. This ref and the doctors teamed up to toss a flag and throw cancer out of the game.Over the years, Bobby Ables has officiated some big college football games. The 2008 Ohio State/LSU National Championship game and last fall's big Ole Miss upset of Alabama are among them. He's discussed penalties with big name coaches like Alabama's Nick Saban. But on Monday, Ables, his wife and granddaughter returned to the UC Medical Center to say thanks to the doctors who gave him a voice in the fight against cancer."I live every day, wake up and feel blessed, said Ables.Diagnosed with throat cancer four years ago, the Arkansas resident elected to come to Cincinnati and UC Health for treatment."It was life or death, said Ables. I either go to a good place, have that done I cant speak highly enough of them.Bobby Ables has officiated some 500 football games in his career. He's spent the past 15 years as a division one field judge. Despite cancer, he has his voice back, thanks to local doctors.Since radiation did not work on his stage one cancer, doctors performed a laryngectomy, removing his voice box.All the structures are removed in their entirety, said Dr. Yash Patil. Then you take the trachea, and that is sewn to the skin, and so he is breathing only through his trachea.Ear, nose and throat doctor Yash Patil says that resulted in Ables being fitted with a voice prosthesis, allowing him to speak."He wears what's called a hands-free prosthesis, said Dr. Patil. It automatically senses when he is trying to speak and it shuts off that one-way valve and lets him speak."Most of the guys I work with, a lot of them dont even know that I breathe out of my neck, said Ables. They think everything is okay.Bobby Ables says a lot of people think he's just hoarse. Little do they know the battle he's waged to win the battle against cancer."I did not want this cancer to define who I am, said Ables. That in itself was my motivation" Bobby Ables never missed a game during his cancer fight. In addition, he even shot a hole-in-one three weeks after the operation.Follow Larry Davis on Twitter @larrydaviswkrc, and LIKE him on Facebook.Follow us on Twitter @Local12 and LIKE us on Facebook for updates!

In 2010 I accidentally stumbled upon the movie "Run from the Cure" on YouTube. I was very skeptical when I initially heard that cannabis could cure cancer. Like everyone, I assumed that if there was a cure for cancer it wouldn't be kept quiet. After countless hours of watching videos and reading through articles and studies I began to change my opinion. There was so much science behind cannabis and its effects on cancer I couldn't believe it. Since 1974 studies have shown that cannabis has anti-tumor effects. The results of the 1974 study, reported in an Aug. 18, 1974, Washington Post newspaper feature, were that cannabis's component, THC, "slowed the growth of lung cancers, breast cancers and a virus-induced leukemia in laboratory mice, and prolonged their lives by as much as 36 percent." In 1975 an article in the Journal of the National cancer institute titled "Antineoplastic Activity of Cannabinoids," they reported that "Lewis lung adenocarcinoma growth was retarded by the oral administration of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabinol (CBD). Mice treated for 20 consecutive days with THC and CBD had reduced primary tumor size." In 1998, a research team at Madrid's Complutense University Led by Dr. Manuel Guzman discovered that THC can selectively induce programmed cell death in brain tumor cells without negatively impacting surrounding healthy cells. They reported in the March 2002 issue of "Nature Medicine" they had destroyed incurable brain cancer tumors in rats by injecting them with THC. And in 2007 even Harvard Researchers found that compounds in cannabis cut the growth of lung cancer. There is also an organization called The SETH Group that showed compounds in cannabis can stop the growth of human glioblastoma multiforma (GBM) brain cancer cells. The SETH Group says "No chemotherapy can match this nontoxic anti-cancer action." Even last year in 2012 a pair of scientists at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco found THC stops metastasis in many kinds of aggressive cancer. Those are just a few of the studies done that show the effects of cannabis on cancer. Even after all of the research behind this it seemed that this treatment was being ignored. So over the next year and a half I began talking about this to pretty much anyone that would listen and found that like myself, most people had not heard anything about cannabis oil as a treatment for cancer. In November 2011 all of that talking finally reached the right person. I was contacted by a man who was looking for help. This man wishes to remain anonymous so I'll refer to him as Bob. Bob had stage 4 cancer in his stomach, throat and pancreas. Over the course of about 6-8 weeks from when Bob was diagnosed, he became so sick he could no longer eat and he lost over 50lbs. He was actually supposed to be dead before thanksgiving and when i first talked to him he was given about 2 weeks to live. Bob had been given radiation the month before he contacted me and he and his doctor were hopeful that would help. But instead of helping it seemed to make his cancer worse. So instead of trying to continue to help Bob, his doctor told him he was sorry but the cancer had spread too much and there was nothing left to do for him. Bob's doctor simply told him to go home and die. Click below to read the rest... - See more at: http://www.cureyourowncancer.org/lincolns-story-why-cyoc-started.html#sthash.cxJppMQy.dpuf

http://utahtexans.com/ Click on the link above for a free video guide to herbal remedies and supplements! Today I'm going to talk about the major throat cancer symptoms and ideas on preventing this health problem. Cancer is a very scary word because it can strike without warning, grow and kill almost like an assassin. The thing with throat cancer is that many of the symptoms do not 100% inform someone they have this medical problem. Sure everyone gets a sore throat at times, but how do you know if it's cancer? This is where you need professional help. The million dollar question is when do you seek medical help? My thought on this question is that a person should see a medical professional the second they feel they should. You know your body better than anywhere, so if something feels serious then there is no point hoping it will go away. It's best to see a professional, that way if there is a problem you can nip it in the bud right away and eliminate it. When problems are left unchecked they grow bigger and cause more damage. One of the most common symptoms of throat cancer would be a sore throat that does not get better in 1 or 2 weeks, even with medicine and antibiotics. Another sign would be an unusual swelling or lump in the neck. Sure, if you recently had an injury there that could make sense, but if it appears out of nowhere that is a cause of concern. If a person has difficulty swallowing then that could be a concern and indicator of cancer. Maybe hoarseness with a person's voice that doesn't improve within 1-2 weeks could be a symptom. Also, abnormal breathing, neck pain and weigh loss all could be indicators of throat cancer. The truth is that nobody 100% knows for certain what causes cancer. Sure smoking cigarettes isn't good for you as well as eating 50 donuts a day. One of the best things someone can do to not only prevent cancer, but stop it would be to take their vitamins. I know it sounds dumb, but many vitamins like the B ones have to do with improving cell health. Plus they play a big role in the immune system that can fight off a cancerous cell. Apart from these vitamins there are a lot of herbal remedies, which can work wonders. If you are interested in how herbal remedies and supplements can improve health I strongly recommend you check out a report and video guide I created. It talks about what someone should be looking for when buying herbs and supplements. Also, it talks about other alternative health strategies and what to take for skincare, fitness and even weight loss. Recently I was invited to speak at the Cancer Support Community Pasadena’s 25th Angel Gala, an annual fundraiser. In 2016, I had to have a laryngectomy, due to long-term radiation damage to my vocal cords and larynx. Last year at this time, I was in the middle of three months where I was unable to speak a single word. I remain eternally grateful for all the support, prayers and kind thoughts directed to me last year during my laryngectomy ordeal. But that ordeal is over! And I have a new voice, aided by a voice prosthesis. But the main reason for this post is to sing the praises of Cancer Support Community, a wonderful non-profit organization that provides free support groups and classes (fitness, meditation, nutrition, etc.) to cancer patients and their caregivers. When I was going through cancer treatment 19 years ago, my wife and I were regular participants at Cancer Support Community Pasadena, then known as the Wellness Community Foothills. For about two years, they helped us navigate through the emotional and physical minefields of cancer. While I’ve been cancer free since 1998, I’m still happy and honored to support Cancer Support Community Pasadena in any way I can. And who can turn down the opportunity to be introduced by the Los Angeles master of meteorology, KNBC’s Fritz Coleman? For more information on Cancer Support Community Pasadena, visit cscpasadena.org. But no matter where you are in the country, if you are a cancer patient or caregiver, there are many non-profit organizations that offer free support. I encourage you to seek them out. You’ll be happy you did.

Be aware, I drift into some odd areas. There's also water dripping from the faucet every so often. If you wonder why I'm typically always in the same area, I have no other tables and my setup is quite large. By the way, I'm saying "coats" not "goats." Goats would be a whole new level of disgusting.
