Arthritis Drug Celebrex May Help Treat Depression

00:57
Researchers have found that the arthritis drug, often marketed as Celebrex, can help make anti-depression medication more effective. According to the study presented at the Fifth International Congress on Psychiatry and the Neurosciences in Athens, Greece, scientists say that pairing Celebrex with other drugs resulted in faster and more dramatic drops in depression scores in patients with bipolar disorder. The study's authors say the results suggest that the arthritis drug should be considered as an anti-depression treatment. Researchers also say that this combination helped patients recover faster. Usually anti-depressants could take 4-6 weeks to take effect. But with the new drug combination, patients reported seeing benefits to their treatment within the first week. http://www.upi.com/Health_News/2016/11/11/Arthritis-drug-Celebrex-may-help-treat-depression-researchers-say/8191478892349/ http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com

Breaking News - Why you should never take aspirin with other painkillers

05:05
Some over-the-counter pain relievers are safer for your organs than others - but those benefits could be derailed when combined with aspirin, a major new study shows. For more than a decade, Cleveland Clinic scientists have been working on the biggest ever investigation into the specific risks associated with the most commonly-used pain pills. One strand of that investigation, published today, confirms that the millions of patients who take daily NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) for arthritis should beware taking aspirin, which many take to lower heart risks in old age. They found that one NSAID, celecoxib, is safer than others on all fronts - but even still, when combined with aspirin the risk of heart attacks, anemia, bleeding stomach, and kidney complications sky-rocketed.While the findings are crucial information for doctors prescribing these medications, for many it merely emphasizes the catch-22 situation: for elderly people with chronic pain, it can often feel like a guessing game picking which risks to prioritize.'NSAIDS are some of the most widely used drugs in the world with more than 100 million prescriptions issued annually in the United States,' said Dr Steve Nissen, MD, chairman of Cardiovascular Medicine at Cleveland Clinic, and the study's principle investigator.'Past studies have reported conflicting results regarding using NSAIDs together with aspirin, but we know that many patients do combine the medications, so it was vital to understand the risks and differences among the drugs.'The 10-year PRECISION trial (Prospective Randomized Evaluation of Celecoxib Integrated Safety versus Ibuprofen or Naproxen) studied 24,000 arthritis patients who were taking either celecoxib, naproxen or ibuprofen for chronic pain. All of them had pre-existing heart disease or a higher risk of heart disease.Of those, 11,000 were also taking aspirin for other ailments.Specifically, the study found that celecoxib (Celebrex), which is widely prescribed for arthritis and menstrual pain, has fewer risks to the heart, kidney and digestive tract than ibuprofen and naproxen. However, when combined with aspiring its risks for the heart increase by six percent.Ibuprofen, meanwhile, was deemed riskiest for the kidneys when combined with aspirin. The combination increased the risk of all issues by 7.1 percent, including harm to the digestive tract and the heart.Naproxen was similar in its damaging effects to celecoxib, but was more damaging than others to the digestive tract.First author Dr Grant Reed, MD, an interventional cardiology fellow at Cleveland Clinic, said: 'The outcomes of this study could lead to changes in clinical practice.'If a patient is not on aspirin, these results suggest that in many cases, celecoxib may be the NSAID of choice.'Our findings underscore how important it is that physicians counsel their patients when starting them on an NSAID and consider the potential effects of use together with aspirin.' Celebrex Safety Data Surprises Heart Experts

02:51
What is the safest anti-inflammatory drug? Is there one? Next Celebrex Safety Data Surprises Heart Experts But today, Dr. Steven Nissen, chairman of the department of cardiovascular medicine at Cleveland Clinic’s Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart & Vascular Institute and colleagues reported findings of a major 10-year study which found no such problems with Celebrex, offering reassurance to millions of patients and potentially changing the way doctors approach treating arthritis pain. For the study involving 24,081 heart patients and people at an increased risk for cardiovascular disease, the researchers compared celecoxib with the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs Naproxyn and Ibuprofen and found celecoxib no more dangerous to the heart than the two NSAIDs, which have been prescribed for decades. Celebrex was even safer when it came to certain side effects, like serious gastrointestinal problems. Nissen said it’s important for the public to understand that the researchers weren’t studying the occasional use of these drugs — instead they focused on patients with osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis who take the drugs every day to control pain. Nissen said it was “very striking” that when it came to side effects, there was about a 50 percent lower risk of having a serious gastrointestinal complication from Celebrex compared to ibuprofen or naproxen. “Celebrex, unlike the other agents, does not have anti-platelet effects so is safer to combine with other blood thinners and can be taken peri-operatively — and even before the operation without increasing bleeding — to reduce post-operative pain, and also does not block the potent anti-platelet effects of aspirin. Comment: surprise… surprise.

NATURAL PAINKILLERS: Best Natural Painkiller for All Natural Pain Relief!

07:42
Although most of you are familiar with over-the-counter drugs, little is known about natural painkillers which actually improve gut health and still have the same powerful anti-inflammatory properties. Painkillers such as ibuprofen and aspirin are great for headaches, menstrual cramps, and other pains. However, these same drugs have the capacity of damaging your gastric mucosa, which is the mucosal layer lining the stomach. Although you may not hear about this on a daily basis, studies have shown that these over-the-counter drugs can even cause gastric lesions, which means big damage to your digestive system. This effect is more common than we’d like to believe, and studies have shown these adverse effects to occur in up to 91% of aspirin users and 33% of ibuprofen users – and they may even occur without you realizing, or be a major underlying contributor to your digestive issues! The goal is not to scare you, but rather to educate you that there are many natural pain relief alternatives to these non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). In addition to causing gastrointestinal damage, these synthetic, pharmaceutical painkillers can ultimately lead to the onset of symptoms in all parts of your body. So what is this magical natural pain relief I’m talking about? Curcumin is a common natural painkiller which has been shown to have both strong and effective anti-inflammatory and pain relieving properties. On a molecular level, it is recognized that curcumin acts nearly identically to aspirin. This means that this natural painkiller is an ideal substitute for everything from menstrual cramps to headaches! In addition, it has been shown that curcumin can regulate the immune system, all while encouraging the detoxification of our bodies – without adverse effects - which is much more than we can say about non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs! So, if I’ve sparked your interest in the super-powers of curcumin, I’m sure you’re wondering how you can get more curcumin in your life! There are two simple ways which I would like to present to you: either by consuming it in its natural form (through turmeric) or by taking a curcumin extract in supplement form. The latter is much more potent and has shown to be highly more effective for pain relief, immune regulation and detoxification properties If you decide to go au naturel and take it through turmeric, you should note that bioavailability of curcumin is very low. In other words, even the right dosage may not the doing the proper job, as the biological availability of curcumin is very low within your body. However, by eating curcumin in combination with both fat and black pepper, you can actually increase the bioavailability of it in your body. Another thing to note is that turmeric stains everything bright orange – so please be careful. I’ve ruined many, many clothing articles trying to use turmeric, and finally I switched to the better way: supplementation. Supplementation, in my opinion, is both more portable and practical: an all-natural curcumin extract designed for pain relief. This is much more effective, and, if you are going with a trusted supplement, they will often include black pepper and/or fat already, to make the supplement even more powerful. The advised therapeutic dosage is 700 – 1400mg 1-2x daily to not only achieve all-natural pain relief, but also to achieve the benefits for your immune system, detoxification, and even contribute to the prevention of chronic illness. Overall, if you’re prone to suffering from headaches, menstrual cramps or other types of pains, as a nutritional scientist, I recommend using a high-grade curcumin supplement to maximize the effects. Below, I’ve linked my scientific recommendations for curcumin, which I also use in practice: BEST CURCUMIN SUPPLEMENT (USA): http://factvsfitness.com/shop/curcumin-500-bioperine-60-vcaps/ BEST CURCUMIN SUPPLEMENT (UK & EUROPE): http://amzn.to/2qds3ip Health begins in the gut, Anita Tee MSc Personalized Nutrition, BSc Human Biology To improve gut health with a scientist on your side, keep up with me on: Twitter: https://twitter.com/factvsfitness Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/factvsfitness/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/factvsfitness/ My website: http://factvsfitness.com

Early Rheumatoid Arthritis: Clinical Guideline for Diagnosis and Management

01:09:21
Rheumatoid arthritis affects 1 in 100 Australians. It is a major cause of disability and psychological distress due to its chronic, painful and disabling character. Rheumatoid arthritis, an inflammatory autoimmune disease, is the second most common type of arthritis after osteoarthritis. The disease is more common amongst women and in the older age groups. Untreated rheumatoid arthritis can result in joint damage and deformities. The disease impacts on activities of daily living, capacity to work, and family life. Early diagnosis and medical intervention are critical to limiting structural damage and improving health outcomes. The Clinical Guideline for Diagnosis and Management of Early Rheumatoid Arthritis presents recommendations to assist and support clinical judgement of GPs in managing patients with rheumatoid arthritis. This program, in line with the Guideline, focuses on diagnosis, early management, and coordination of multidisciplinary care needs for people with rheumatoid arthritis. Pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions are reviewed. The Clinical Guideline recognises the need for every patient with rheumatoid arthritis to have a thorough assessment of their individual needs; access to a range of health professionals; and a comprehensive care plan. This program is one of four in the Musculoskeletal Guideline Series. The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) has developed national musculoskeletal clinical guidelines for general practitioners and other primary care health professionals for osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis and osteoporosis. Painkiller heart danger

A painkiller used by millions of people can increase the risk of a heart attack or a stroke. According to new research which is the first of its kind, patients who use diclofenac are 40% more likely to suffer from cardiovascular diseases than those who don't. It's the most commonly prescribed non-steroidal anti-inflammatary drug in Britain last year. 17 million prescriptions were made in 2010 for patients suffering from arthritis, back pain, gout, headache and flu. Hull York Medical School and the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences in Canada carried out the research. They examined 51 international studies into the impact of a range of the same drugs on more than 2.7 million people. Lead reserach Dr Patricia McGettigan said: "At high doses, the increase in risk was almost doubled. An alternative, naproxen, prescribed only half as often, was not associated with increased risk at any dose."

Systemic Enzymes Successfully used for Inflammation

01:46
http://www.takebackyourhealth.com http://www.TakeBackYourHealth.com http://www.takebackyourhealth.com/cardio-zyme.html Natural Anti-Inflammatory Enzymes are the first line of defense against inflammation. Inflammation is a reaction by the immune system to an irritation. Lets say you have an injured right knee. The immune system, sensing the irritation in the knee, creates a protein chain called a Circulating Immune Complex (CIC for short), tagged specifically for that right knee. This CIC floats down to the right knee and causes pain, redness and swelling the classic earmarks for inflammation. This, at first, is a beneficial reaction; it warns us that a part of ourselves is hurt and needs attention. But, inflammation is self-perpetuating, it creates an irritation that in response, and the body makes CICs. Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Celebrex, Viox and the rest of the Non Steroidial Anti Inflammatory Drugs all work by keeping the body from making all the CICs. This ignores the fact that some CICs are vital to life, like those that maintain the lining of the intestine and those that keep the kidneys functioning. Not to mention the fact that they, along with acetaminophen, are highly toxic to the liver. Every year 20,000 Americans die from these over the counter drugs and another 100,000 will wind up in the hospital with liver damage, kidney damage or bleeding intestines from the side effects of these drugs. Systemic enzymes, on the other hand, are perfectly safe and free of dangerous side effects. They have no LD-50, or toxic dose. Best of all, systemic enzymes can tell the difference between the good CICs and the bad ones. This is due to the fact that hydrolytic enzymes are lock and key mechanisms and their teeth will only fit over the bad CICs. So instead of preventing the creation of all CICs, systemic enzymes just eat the bad ones and in so doing, lower inflammation everywhere. http://www.takebackyourhealth.com/faq.html

Tylenol is poison & can KILL you (Russia Today)

03:34
Google The Tylenol murders (Ped Infect Dis J 1995 jul;14(7): 588-94)again why? We all know that NSAIDS like tylenol and iboprofen are implicated. Another one (Infect Med 16 (5):307, 1999 noted severe Group A beta-hemolytic strap in children who had had antipyretic medication. MMWR, May 15, 1998, Vol 47 No 18 listed chickenpox cases too.But these parents don't appear to have been asked about Nonsteroid anti-inflammatories, or - tylenol. Pediatrics Vol 103, No 4, April 1999, pg 783+ again noted the association of ibuprofen with serious complications - and elsewhere in the same issue. Acta Paediatri Jpn 1994 Aug;36(4):375-8 shows that administration of any antipyretic drugs in children with infectious diseases worsens their illnesses. Why? Because it appears that anti-pyretics down- regulate the immune response. This is only natural, since the reason for a fever is to switch on certain cytokines, and push the immune system up from the fourth gear to the tenth (prely as an imagery picture, here), to help deal with the problem. There is very clear evidence that tylenol creates an ineffective immune system in some children, and as Ped Infect Dis 1996:15: 355-53 points out about the immune system in general - not in particular to Tylenot - "an ineffective immune response to certain organisms can result in life-threatening infection." Better yet, a Journal called Family Practice, Volume 13, No 2, 1996 stated: "Paracetamol prescribing is reaching epidemic proportions and the potential dangers of hepatotoxicity and the inhibition of the immune response in children are discussed." He goes on to say: "Despite our lack of knowledge about its therapeutic mechanism, it has been claimed to be a safe frug, especially for children...there is mounting evidence that paracetamil is not the benign drug that it was formally thought to be... We would question the whole rational of prescribing the drug in near epidemic proportions...there is little concern about its use in the short term as an ANALGESIC, there is considerable controversy over its use as an antipyretic...paracetamol may decrease antibody response to infection and increase morbidity and mortality in severe infections....too many parents and health workers think that fever is bad and needs to be suppressed by paracetamio, when indeed, moderate fever may improve the immune response." In another earlier study in the Lancet March 9, 1991 pg 591 it was stated "Studies have clearly shown that fever helps laboratory animals to survive an infection whereas antipyresis increases mortality (death). Moreover, there is considerable in-vitro evidence that a variety of human immunological defences function better at febrile temperatures than at normal ones." It is a natural thing to say that if your child was vaccinated against chickenpox, they won't get it (....? maybe) so you then wouldn't have to worry about the use of tylenol. tylenol should never be used in any case of infectious disease, for several reasons - first, it suppresses the immune system. Second it makes most children sleepy. Third - the combination of those two factors can mask critical symptoms which would alert a parent to a problem, so that as in the case of many if not most of the recent chickenpox cases - by the time they get to hospital, the situation is very severe indeed. Do you think then, in the light of the literature, all parents should be warned that while they can use Tylenol, or paracetamol as as ANALGESIC - or pain relief, that they should never use it for infectious diseases?

http://bit.ly/2t7ssXB 100% Money Back Guarantee Turmeric, the main spice in curry, is possibly the most powerful herb on the planet at fighting and possibly reversing disease. It has so many curative properties that presently there have been over 6000 articles published proving the benefits of turmeric and one of famous therapeutic compounds curcumin. This puts turmeric as one of the most often mentioned medicinal herbs in all of science and the next most popular studied herbs include garlic, cinnamon, ginseng, ginger. Of the studies referencing curcumin, one of the most interesting finding is that when turmeric is compared to accepted medicine its benefits equal that of many pharmaceutical medications.  A good number of studies have reported that using curcumin is more beneficial than certain prescription drugs. Turmuric (Curcumin) Benefits Anti-inflammatory The most powerful aspect of curcumin has to be its ability to control inflammation.  A journal published results of a study that evaluated various anti-inflammatory compounds and found that aspirin and ibuprofen are least effective, and curcumin, is among the most effective anti-inflammatory in the world.  This information should have reached all household in the world after the study was done because inflammation puts people at risk for just about every illness process known to man. Diseases today such as cancer, arthritis, high cholesterol and chronic pain can be the result of inflammation. Painkiller One of the more accepted properties of curcumin is its ability to manage pain. Take severe burns. Usually, burn victims are treated with dangerous opioids and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories. Even so, because of its anti-inflammatory abilities, U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research suggests that, curcumin should be used to treat burn victims instead of those conventional medications. The tendency should becoming clear by now. Therapeutic use of turmeric and other curcumin-rich plants are displacing formal medical treatments and proving it’s a true natural painkiller. Arthritis management  Because curcumin is known for its anti-inflammatory and pain reduction characteristics, a study was conducted on 45 rheumatoid arthritis patients to analyze the benefits of curcumin in turmeric to arthritis drugs, that put people at risk of developing leaky gut and heart disease. The study split these volunteers into three groups: curcumin treatment, diclofenac sodium , and a combination of the two. The results were eye-opening: The curcumin group showed the highest percentage of improvement in overall [Disease Activity Score] scores and these scores were significantly better than the patients in the diclofenac sodium group. More importantly, curcumin treatment was found to be safe and did not relate with any adverse events. Our study provides the first evidence for the safety and superiority of curcumin treatment in patients with active RA, and highlights the need for future large-scale trials to validate these findings in patients with RA and other arthritic conditions.
