How to make Tsampa / Roasted barley flour: All you need is… Here’s what you will need to make it... 1Kg organic Barley or any amount. Coarse Salt Big pan/Large wok/Skillet Heavy Duty Professional blender/Coffe or Spice Blender. Optional: Wisk/Spatula/Wooden spoon or whatever you like… Step-by-step: 1. Heat the wok/pan to a very high heat with Coarse salt in it. 2. Once the pan/wok starts smoking, add the decent amount of barley. 3. Keep the pan/wok constantly moving using a tossing motion, until all of the barley is roasted. 4. Once the barley is roasted, strain the barley through a fine sift and separate the salt & roasted barley. 5. Put the coarse salt back onto the pan for your next batch/reuse. 6. Let the roasted barley to cool down completely. 7. Then the final grinding step: Pour the roasted barley in your Coffee /spice grinder (i use my Heavy duty professional blender as this is very easy and this gives me a nice, fine texture…will leave the link below). Important points: DO NOT allow anything to burn or sit in one place too long. so, Keep tossing the wok/pan. This will also helps barley to roast evenly.

The Tibetan garlic cure is an ancient medicinal recipe created by the Buddhist monks of Tibet in order to take advantage of the powerful properties of garlic. Not only is this purifying therapy effective for treating illnesses and losing weight healthily, but it’s also simple and inexpensive–anybody can make it. A lot of people know about the benefits of eating raw garlic daily, as it’s one of the most medicinal foods that exists. This cure will give you another way of enjoying the benefits of garlic in a short time. Unfortunately the recipe can not be repeated for five years. The recipe: When you are cleaning, cutting and crushing the garlic do not use or touch any metal. Use only tools made of wood, glass or porcelain. Wash and clean well 350 grams of garlic, then crush finely. Take 200 grams from the bottom where it is juicier, and place it in a jar. Pour 200ml, alcohol 75% or more. Seal and keep in a cold and dark place for 10 days. After that filtrate through a solid piece of cloth, put in a jar, seal and let it stay in a dark and cold place for another 3 days. The green color that takes the alcohol is completely normal due to certain active garlic ingredients. Check out your kitchen and see what is lurking there. Many people have some or all of these nine foods you should never eat again if you want to reduce the chance of an early death. Frozen Meals Preservatives, processed salt and hydrogenated oils are very common in most frozen meals. For that reason, it is better to avoid them and their extreme lack of nutrients. If you are opting for frozen meals, try Amy’s or Organic Bistro – two brands that try to create truly healthy varieties. White Bread Refined flour and white bread are stripped of nutrients and are hard to digest. They also have been bleached and can contain chlorine and bromide that were used for that process. Skip the white bread and go for whole grains that contain vitamins and minerals. White Rice Most nutrients have been stripped from the rice when it is white rice. Brown rice is processed differently, absorbed more slowly and provides a more even energy level. White rice, even the fortified variety, does not provide nearly the same amount of nutrients. Microwaveable Popcorn The corn kernals used for microwave popcorn is genetically modified, and then processed salt and preservatives are added to improve its flavor. Add to that the fact that a chemical called diacetyl can destroy the lungs, and that is found in microwaveable popcorn. It still takes caution and some label reading to make sure they are worth consuming and will be healthy alternatives. Soy Milk Almost all non-organic soy is genetically modified and has lost a significant amount of the benefits gained from consuming soy. Hexane is a toxic chemical that can cause birth defects, issues with reproduction and even cancer. Non-fermented soy is high in estrogen and interferes with the natural hormone balance as well. Margarine The common misconception that butter and saturated fats are bad, but the true danger comes with the hydrogenated trans-fat known as margarine. Used in numerous processed foods, margarine is something to avoid. If you want to skip the butter and animal-based fats, opt for coconut oil or olive oil. Diet anything Artificial sweeteners like aspartame and sucralose are known to cause endocrine disruption, neurological issues and gastrointestinal problems. These are ingredients in diet products, along with chemical flavoring agents. These chemicals replace natural fat and other elements removed to reduce calories. A better way to eat is to stick to whole foods and those high in fat that were grown the natural way. Mrs.Vahchef is very fond of cooking and her Recipes are very unique and fit for busy women specially working women Barley, a member of the grass family, is a major cereal grain. Barley grain is a staple in Tibetan cuisine. Soup prepared with barley and other vegetables is tasty and healthy. INGREDIENTS: Barley ½ cup Water 3 cups Butter ½ tsp Garlic(chopped) ¼ tsp French beans(chopped) 1 tsp Carrots(chopped) 1 tsp Cabbage(chopped) 1 tsp Green chillies 1-2 nos Salt To taste Coriander leaves(chopped) 1 tsp METHOD: 1. Soak barley in water and boil it, later separate water and barley. 2. Heat butter in a pan, add garlic, French beans, carrots, cabbage, green chillies, salt, cooked barley and saute it, cook vegetable until it is slightly cooked. 3. Add barley water and boil it. Once it come to slightly thick consistency, transfer into soup bowl by removing green chillies. 4. Now garnish with coriander leaves and serve it hot.

Drumstick or Moringa trees were traditionally planted near open wells. It has the ability to suck lot of water along with other toxins and store it in its trunk. Chances are that during karkada masam, the toxins would be released into its leaves. Which is why traditional seers and ayurvedic practioners would suggest not consuming moringa leaves during this time of the year. However, most moringa tree will shed the leaves during this period. Consume 50 ml of mixture every day on an empty stomach during 25 days. After that, make a break for 10 days. After the break you can repeat the 25-day treatment, if needed. As a preventive measure, you can repeat this process two times a year, every six months. With a goal of healing, continue this process until your health improves, but always take mandatory 10 days pause before you go on with the process.
