I say it's not,” said Jim Scianno, owner of Purple Lotus Kava Bar in downtown West Palm Beach back in 2012. "This is the devil drug, that's how Ian put it,” said Linda Mautner. She blames kratom for her son's death this summer. Ian Mautner was 20 years old the July day he jumped off an overpass, into traffic on I-95.

Hi, this is Larry Hobbs @ FatNews.com. http://fatnews.com/ https://twitter.com/fatnews People taking trazodone for depression were 5-times more likely to commit suicide over 5 years Research shows that antidepressants increase the risk of suicide. People given a diagnosis of depression who were taking trazodone (Oleptro) were 5-times more likely to commit suicide over the next five (5) years compared to people given a diagnosis of depression who were taking no antidepressants according to a recent analysis. Subjects Subjects: 238,963 patients from 687 medical practices who were diagnosed with depression Subjects included were 238,963 patients from 687 medical practices who were diagnosed with depression from 1 January 2000 to 31 July 2011. A total of 88,272 patients were excluded from the study cohort because they had schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or other psychoses or had been prescribed lithium or antimanic drugs and/or had been prescribed an antidepressant before the study entry date aged less than 20, or more than 36 months before the recorded date of depression. Suicide rates highest during first month Suicide rates highest during first month on drug and first month after stopping drug Suicide rates tended to be highest in the first 28 days after starting treatment and remained increased in the first 28 days after stopping treatment. “The results of this study indicate that patients taking antidepressant drugs should be carefully monitored, especially during early treatment with antidepressants and when stopping treatment,” the authors of the paper concluded. Calculation The calculation used was Hazard Ratio of 2.00 for trazodone divided by 0.39 for those taking no antidepressants equals 5.1 times the risk of suicide. 4 IMPORTANT steps to follow: 1. Make sure that the supplement is made in the USA or Europe. 2. Make sure that it has DHA docosahexaenoic acid in it. It is an expensive but important ingredient and cheap, low quality manufacturers avoid it. 3. Certified certified and CERTIFIED always use certified food supplements - it is your quality guarantee. 4. You know that high quality fish is expensive. Quality fish oil capsules should cost at least 35-40$ per bottle (50-60 caps.). If that would put you to an uncomfortable situation financially please look for another supplement. Brands I trust and recommend to my patients and friends/family. 1. http://www.healthyware.com - I've been buying their supplements for my family for years and I must say they always deliver what they promise - quality. The only unpleasant problem with them is that due to their popularity they are often out of stock. Their official website is http://www.healthyware.com Omega three fish oil is healthy choice for everyone. Nonetheless fish oil minor side effects can happen if you take it in too high applications. One of the most typical side-effects is that fishy belch that leaves a particularly upsetting taste in one's mouth. Even, in small dosages, this fishy belch can happen. The nice news is this is fixable. When you purchase the proper quality omega3 supplement, you need to get that upsetting belching or fish breadth. Another possible complication is bleeding. Higher doses can end up in nose bruising and bleeds. This is due to the fact that this particular product can forestall the blood from clots. Taking the incorrect sort of fish oil, specifically cod liver oil, can cause over consuming of A vitamin. Vitamin is an exceedingly full of cod liver oil. Taking an excessive amount of may cause liver damage, dry skin and headaches. So once more, it's very important the best quality of omega 3 fish oil be used. Diarrhea is an additional possible consequence of over intake of this particular supplement. One of the most important concern about using this particular supplement may be the pollutants that could be inside a capsule. This amount of fishes live in polluted waters, those contaminants are moved through the fish towards the omega-3 fatty acids capsule. Then when you are taking a capsule, you might be eating dangerous pollutants like mercury and lead which can do serious damage to your fitness But again, by consuming the right quality product, it'll be unnecessary to fret about consuming these pollutants. Why? Because they will not be in it. It would've been removed by the processing. Cod liver oil sadly isn't of the right quality. Bottom line, be careful about what type of fish you obtain your fish oil from and your dosages. Taking about 6 a day is counseled for getting the wonderful health benefits and not one of the minor side effects. fish oil side effect fish oil side effects side effects fish oil fish oil side effects acne fish oil side effects bleeding fish oil side effects bloating fish oil side effects children benefits of fish oil capsules best fish oil capsules carlson fish oil capsules eskimo 3 fish oil capsules fish oil capsules fish oil capsules 1000 mg fish oil capsules 1000mg fish oil capsules 1200 mg fish oil capsules 1400 mg fish oil capsules 2000 fish oil capsules acne fish oil capsules and weight loss fish oil capsules benefits fish oil capsules burpless fish oil capsules calories fish oil side effects constipation fish oil side effects depression fish oil side effects diarrhea fish oil side effects dogs fish oil side effects fish oil dosage fish oil side effects fish oil supplements fish oil side effects gas fish oil side effects headache fish oil side effects in dogs fish oil side effects in men best fish oil carlson fish oil fish oil fish oil (omega 3) side effects fish oil 1000mg fish oil and cholesterol fish oil benefits fish oil benefits and side effects fish oil capsules fish oil capsules damage your liver fish oil depression fish oil dosage fish oil dosage for dogs fish oil for dogs fish oil for kids fish oil capsules fish oil health benefits fish oil liquid

Welcome back 1. The recurrent episodes of wellness followed by transient worsening of the problems are mainly due to the stroke. As the vessels in the brain could be having atherosclerotic (fat deposition in the arteries) plaques, the blood supply in these vessels will be minimal. During some occasions these vessels will become completely blocked and reduces the blood supply to the target area. This block is usually bypassed either by formation of collateral circulation or relieved by increase in the blood pressure. Hence, you pass through some unpleasant episodes during this phase. Even though, you are on blood thinners and anti-lipid medicines, it may not be effective in relieving the old blocks. 2. Any issues with the eye, the pain is perceived over the back of the head, also known as occipital area. This is nothing to do with trigeminal neuralgia. In the latter condition, an individual will present with burning sensation over one side of the face along with difficulty in chewing. 3. Ringing in the ear could be an early indication of narrowing of the blood vessels in the brain. At present, the ringing could be secondary to the edema in the auditory area. 4. The disequilibrium is chiefly due to stroke in the brain stem which may involve the vestibular area. The only way to overcome this is to perform vestibular rehabilitation exercises. 5. The reason behind lack of sleep could be anxiety and this gets worsened post stroke. Taking trazadone for a long duration could have caused addiction for this drug. Your doctor can suggest the best way to recover from this and request him to switch over to some other safer alternatives. 6. Discomfort following sleep is because of the side effects of the medicine Trazadone. 7. Stem cells have shown some promising results, but, it's still in its infancy. For more details regarding this, contact Dr. Steven Cramer, clinical director of the Stem Cell Research Center at the University of California, Irvine. He is the pioneer in the stem cell research and has met with success in his endeavors. 8. I have examined the videos thoroughly. I'm extremely sorry for the position you are in. I do understand your concern. Post stroke, you had developed dysarthria (slurring of speech). Dysarthria is caused by the damage to the brain. As a result of this injury, there is weakness or paralysis in the muscles controlling mouth and facial movements or the respiratory system. Also, the pathways for language comprehension or production are disrupted or destroyed. For most people, this means damage to the left hemisphere of the brain. To conclude, I would suggest you the following: 1. Try consulting Dr. Steven Cramer regarding stem cell therapy. Stem cell therapy can alleviate most of your symptoms without medicines. 2. Speech rehabilitation is required to make your speech normal. Hence, you need to consult a speech language pathologist (SLP). 3. Relaxation techniques such as meditation and gentle physical exercises can reduce the episodes of discomfort. Also, vestibular rehabilitation exercises can reduce the equilibrium. 4. Finally, discuss with your doctor regarding the decrease in the number of medicines such as Trazodone and other anti-depressants. Check out regarding usage of melatonin capsules for the sleep related issues; this is a safe alternative for Trazadone.

Serotonin is a chemical produced by the body that enables brain cells and other nervous system cells to communicate with one another. Too little serotonin in the brain is thought to play a role in depression. Too much, however, can lead to excessive nerve cell activity, causing a potentially deadly collection of symptoms known as serotonin syndrome. Serotonin syndrome symptoms often begin within hours of taking a new medication that affects serotonin levels or excessively increasing the dose of one you are already taking. Symptoms may include: Confusion Agitation or restlessness Dilated pupils Headache Changes in blood pressure and/or temperature Nausea and/or vomiting Diarrhea Rapid heart rate Tremor Loss of muscle coordination or twitching muscles Shivering and goose bumps Heavy sweating In severe cases, serotonin syndrome can be life threatening. If you experience any of these symptoms, you or someone with you should seek medical attention immediately: High fever Seizures Irregular heartbeat Unconsciousness Serotonin syndrome can occur if you are taking medications, particularly antidepressants that affect the body's level of serotonin. The greatest risk of serotonin syndrome occurs if you are taking two or more drugs and/or supplements together that influence serotonin. The condition is more likely to occur when you first start a medicine or increase the dose. The most commonly prescribed class of antidepressants, which work by increasing serotonin, are the serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs).These include citalopram (Celexa), escitalopram (Lexapro), fluoxetine (Prozac), fluvoxamine (Luvox), paroxetine (Paxil), and sertraline (Zoloft). Other prescription and over-the-counter drugs that can raise serotonin levels alone or in combination to cause serotonin syndrome include: Serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs), a class of antidepressants including desvenlafaxine (Khedezla), desvenlafaxine succinate (Pristiq), duloxetine (Cymbalta), levomilnacipran (Fetzima), and venlafaxine (Effexor). Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), a class of antidepressants including isocarboxazid (Marplan), phenelzine (Nardil), tranylcypromine (Parnate), and transdermal selegiline (EMSAM) Buspirone (BuSpar), a drug used to treat anxiety disorders Desyrel ( Trazodone ), a drug prescribed for depression or insomnia Migraine treatments such as almotriptan (Axert), Amerge (naratriptan), rizatriptan (Maxalt), sumatriptan (Imitrex), and zolmitriptan (Zomig) Certain pain medications, including fentanyl (Sublimaze, Fentora), fentanyl citrate (Actiq), meperidine (Demerol), pentazocine (Talwin), and tramadol (Ultram) Dextromethorphan , a cough suppressant found in many over-the-counter and prescription cough medicines or cold medicines Certain medications prescribed for nausea, such as granisetron (Kytril), metoclopramide (Reglan), and ondansetron (Zofran) Antidepressants that affect multiple serotonin receptors, such as vortioxetine (Trintellix -formerly Brintellix) and vilazodone (Viibryd) Some illegal drugs, such as LSD and cocaine, and dietary supplements, including St. John's wort and ginseng, can also lead to serotonin syndrome when combined with antidepressants that affect serotonin. The FDA recently asked drug manufacturers to include warning labels on their products to let patients know about the potential risk of serotonin syndrome. If you are uncertain about drugs you take or have been prescribed, check the label or speak with your doctor. Don't stop any medication before talking to your doctor. Serotonin Syndrome Diagnosis There is no single test to diagnose serotonin syndrome. Your health care provider will ask about your medical history, including medication, supplement, and recreational drug use, and perform a physical exam. Other conditions may cause symptoms that are similar to serotonin syndrome. Lab tests to exclude other causes of symptoms may be ordered. Serotonin Syndrome Treatments People with serotonin syndrome are typically hospitalized for observation and treatment of symptoms. For example, benzodiazepines are given to treat agitation and/or seizures. Intravenous fluids are given to maintain hydration. Removing the drug responsible for the serotonin syndrome is critical. Hydration by intravenous (IV) fluids) is also common. In severe cases, a medication called cyproheptadine (Periactin) that blocks serotonin production may be used.

Mirtazapine, sold under the brand name Remeron among others, is an atypical antidepressant which is used primarily in the treatment of depression. In addition to its antidepressant properties, mirtazapine has anxiolytic, sedative, antiemetic, and appetite stimulant effects and is sometimes used in the treatment of anxiety disorders, insomnia, nausea and vomiting, and to produce weight gain when desirable. It is taken by mouth. The drug acts as an antagonist of certain adrenergic and serotonin receptors, and is also a strong antihistamine. It is sometimes described as a noradrenergic and specific serotonergic antidepressant , although the actual evidence in support of this label has been regarded as poor. When it comes to finding a dog pain killer that works, what about giving your dog gabapentin? Is it a true pain killer and replacement for the more commonly used non-steroidal anti-inflammatory pain killers like rimadyl? Or is it like tramadol which works well in people but not in dogs? Get your free copy of my pain monitoring chart to make sure your pet is as comfortable as possible: https://ourpetshealth.com/pain-monitoring-chart-for-dogs Gabapentin is a human drug that is used to treat some seizures and nerve related pain. We don't know exactly how gabapentin works, although it appears to reduce the release of excitatory neurotransmitters. If a pain signal is blocked from reaching the brain then the result will be a reduction in pain. Gabapentin acts on the nerves themselves unlike some other pain killers like the non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs). Neuropathic pain is essentially pain that is generated by the nerves themselves and results in 2 main conditions. The first of these is known as hyperalgesia which is an increased sensitivity to pain. The second condition is allodynia and is where something that is not normally painful becomes painful. The good news is that this pain wind up is reversible, although it can take several months. Our standard pain killers in dogs and cats, the NSAIDs, will help with this. Gabapentin though can also be used to help your dog or cat become pain free faster, or where our non-steroidals are not enough by themselves. Gabapentin may well also play a useful role in helping keep our pets comfortable after surgery or injury but should probably not be used by itself. Gabapentin is a very safe drug with few side effects to be concerned about. The most common side effects of gabapentin in dogs and cats are sedation and wobbliness. Some animals may also develop vomiting. The biggest danger with giving gabapentin is using a human liquid formulation that contains xylitol.
