Which AA batteries do you use? Are they powerful enough? To see the full review with test results either watch the video or go to the full review page at ATP: http://www.all-things-photography.com/energizer-lithium-aa-battery-review/ In this review, I test the Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA Batteries against their powerful counterparts: • Energizer Eco Advanced AA batteries (£1.24 each) • Duracell Ultra Power AA Batteries (£1.16 each) ...and a set of ultra cheap Wilko Functional AA Batteries (£1 for 12 or 0.08p each) just for fun. I have heard great things about the Lithium AA batteries but have always used either the Duracell Ultra Powers or Energizer rechargeable batteries in my speedlights and gadgets. I have also read that the Lithium batteries have a tendency to overheat during excessive use with power hungry gadgets like the Canon 580EX II speedlight... ...so I fired close to 1000 strobes at full power with the 580EX II to see if I could blow it up or set fire to it, but which battery performed the best and lasted the longest? To see the full review with test results either watch the video or go to the full review page at ATP: http://www.all-things-photography.com/energizer-lithium-aa-battery-review/ Equipment used: • Canon 580EX II • Energizer Ultimate AA Lithium batteries • Duracell Ultra Power AA LR6 batteries • Wilko Functional AA batteries The results were surprising to me and all I will say is stay away from the Wilko Functional batteries unless you are powering a sheet of tissue paper or similar.

Capacity test and comparison of AA alkaline batteries. Which of those single use (non-rechargeable) batteries lasts the longest? I compared brands like Duracell, GP, Varta, Energizer and also a cheap K-Classic battery from Kaufland supermarket. None of the batteries says anything about its mAh capacity, it's always just "super long lasting", so I made a test using my battery analyzer. The result was quite surprising! This is my homemade battery analyzer: http://danyk.cz/avr_aku_en.html You can support me on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/DiodeGoneWild

New Generation Varta Lithium Batteries Varta lithium batteries are the chemical sources of current, where lithium metal - one of the most chemically active metals - is used as the anode. This metal has the greatest electrochemical potential and provides the greatest energy thickness. At the same time the high activity of the lithium metal significantly complicates the production processes. The requirements with respect to the current source tightness in this case are also extemely high. All of this ultimately impacts the cost of these power elements. If compared to the saline and alkaline batteries, the lithium current sources have a number of important advantages. Their main benefit is the high specific energy thickness. So, at dimensions equal to those of their counterparts, lithium components have the greatest energy content, and are thus able to support longer operation. Another important feature is the long storage period, which reaches 10, and in some cases, even 15 years! This is possible thanks to the extremely low charge currents. The typical self-discharge current normally decreases the rated capacity by a maximum of 1% per year. This means that the element's charge would theoretically only drop by 10% in 10 years. These power elements provide reliable supply of power for devices requiring a lot of energy for operation. Such devices include, for example, digital cameras, players, metal detectors, flashlights, etc. Lithium batteries work up to 7 times longer than their alkaline counterparts in devices with high energy consumption. They have virtually the same capacity at low and high discharge currents. The AAA capacity is 1,100 milliampere-hours, the AA capacity -- 2,900 milliampere-hours. Lithium batteries are also light weight -- 33% lighter than the alkaline ones. They work under extremely high and low temperatures, and contain no hazardous components, like mercury or lead.

This video shows a set of 4 rechargeable AA batteries they cost £8.19, they are the biggest capacity rechargeable Duracell do at 2500 mAh (milliamp Hour), they are a chemistry called NiMH (nickel metal hydride), Link to Duracell's website, these cells hold 80% of their capacity for 12 months, https://www.duracell.co.uk/product/ultra-rechargeable-ultra-aa/ Why do i choose Duracell ?, I am happy with the performance and the price, I have used a set of 2450mAh ones for 5 years and i am happy with the quality, this new set are the 2500mAh versions, the old ones still have most of their capacity, The new set of 4 are branded Duracell Ultra which means is marketing speak for longer lasting, After 5 years of use they should have the old set should have 2450 mAh, i used the Liitokala 500 to test the capacity and i got, 2301 mAh, 2303 mAh, 2354 mAh 2406 mAh, I used the old set of 4 Duracell 2450 mAh in 2's as the my old camera used to use batteries in 2's maybe this is why there is a slight difference, I will test this new set for capacity and let you know what the 2500mAh start with, Don't forget that these cells are only 1.2 volts unlike normal alkaline cells which are 1.5 volts, I found some information about the capacities of the normal Duracell alkaline batteries, Pluspower AA = 1947 mAh, Ultra Power AA = 2288 mAh, I have tried Uniross in the past they went upto 2700 mAh, but the batteries did not hold their charge, this is a problem with NiMH, I have looked and Uniross now do a 2600 mAh as their maximum battery capacity, The old type of Uniross don't hold their charge so to use them with high drain devices like digital cameras, i would have to charge them just before i used them, Uniross do a Hybrio version now which holds 85% of it's charge, but they are only 2400mAh capacity, There is also Eneloop which are more expensive than these Duracell, the Eneloop Pro are £12.79 for 2500 mAh and they hold 85% of their charge, So I would not risk your money with any other brand, look into Duracell, Uniross & Eneloop avoid very cheap brands they are a waste of money, Buying from these links it is up to you to check that you are happy to buy from this seller, I am not linked to them in anyway i do not get any money from them when you buy, This is the guy i bought from, this ebayer is a UK seller with UK stock, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-x-Duracell-AA-2500-mAh-Rechargeable-ULTRA-Batteries-NiMH-HR6-MN1500-Duralock-/290944987100?hash=item43bdac2fdc:g:VysAAOSwxu5ZEuiy To check the other batteries available from the same seller i bought from see link below, he has most of the other popular brands not just Duracell, https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/m.html?_sop=15&_ssn=gogreenuk&_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=aa+rechargeable&_blrs=spell_check Then i would definitely recommend getting a peak detect charger as they fill the battery as full as it can be filled, the cheap and basic chargers are not really up to the job, they are cheap for a reason, they are not intelligent chargers, Look at the Liitokala Engineer 500 or the Techno Line BL 700, Both are chargers that hold 4 batteries, Liitokala link, make sure you buy one with the correct plug for your country, ask the seller before you buy, this will also recharge Li-ion batteries as well, and it will also tell you the true capacity of your cell by draining it and re filling it, for around £17.00 it is a bargain, I have done a review of this charge on my channel, they are from China though this is why they are cheap, https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=liitokala+500&_sop=15 Link to the Liitokala charger video, it is long but their is a lot this charger can do, https://youtu.be/wv3jZhcwgcI Techno Line BL 700 link, UK stock, it does not seem to have any more features than when i bought mine, it will only charge AA & AAA, and it is quite expensive at £31.99, http://www.batterylogic.co.uk/technoline/technoline-BL700.asp I have used the Techno Line for 9 years as shown in the video, So why did I choose the Duracell brand for my rechargeable needs, the brand alone sells it for me, would Duracell make rubbish when all their adverts promote the long life of their alkaline batteries ?, the pack also states made in Japan, well known for making the best quality batteries, I have also used a set for around 4 to 5 years and only now are they starting to get hot, but i did charge them at 500 mAh and i never cycle them so that has took some life out of them, I don't cycle them as my digital camera only uses 20% of the capacity of these cells, below 80% the camera says the batteries are empty and it won't switch the camera on, i now have 2 sets so there is always a charged set available, Weight per cell of the new 2500 mAh = 2 are 30 grams or 1.1 Oz, 2 are 31 grams or 1.1 Oz, The older set of 4 with 2450 mAh= all 4 are 29 grams or 1 Oz each, The size of both sets is 50mm long x 14mm diameter.

The video shows the extremely good quality from Varta rechargeable batteries. The used cell (1,2 V NiMh) was already used for 2 days in a LED circuit but had so much energy storage capacity that it could easily make the filament from a 12 Volt lamp glow for a long time after this. Even when I shortcutted the battery it did not loose much charge, so I could not get this cell exhausted in an easy or normal way, like other (cheap, cheaper or other brand) NiMh cells. By the way: this test is a good quality test for 1,2 V small rechargeable cells. Use a 6 Volt bicycle lamp for 0-800 mA-hour cells and a 12 V (5 Watt) lamp for all 1,2 cells with a capacity above 800 mA-hour. When the filament keeps glowing for a long time the quality from the cell is good. Of course charge the cell first and keep watching the temperature! Disconnect the cell when it gets hot and/or use a resistor or lamp with a higher Ohms resistance when the cell or wiring gets hot. By the way: I had the same good experiences with other (types of) rechargeable cells from Varta, they "always" work and keep their energy well stored.

A test and teardown on the BTY AA 3000 battery. This is advertised as a high capacity rechargeable Ni-MH cell at a super low cost. Very common on ebay and other deal sites. But does the BTY offer a respectable performance for an AA cell, or is it a waste of money?

Varta Battery Charger Varta Charger is designed to charge two or four 2A or 3A batteries. The charger is supplied in a set with four 2A batteries with the capacity of 2,100 milliamperes/hour each. The device can be used with cadmium-nickel or nickel-metal-hydride batteries. The charging time is 7-12 hours depending on the capacitance and battery type. The charger comes with an inbuilt battery overheat protection and two LED indicators which guarantee full protection. Insert the 2A and 3A batteries into the front part of the charger considering the polarity. The reverse side of the device has slots for one or two more batteries. Plug the device into the socket. The green LED will come on, which means that the charging process has started. The LED located on the left indicates the charge process for the batteries mounted in the front part of the charger, while that on the right - for those in the reverse side. When the charging process is complete, the charger automatically disconnects, and the LED goes out. It is generally preferred that two or four batteries are charged in the device simultaneously. When the batteries are fully charged, remove them from the charger case.

I show how to replace solder tab rechargeable batteries in some very useful consumer products that would otherwise end up in a landfill. I use more common and cheaper none solder tab reachable batteries and show how to safely and effectively solder on the tabs. First up was the solder tab type AA 1.2v Ni-Cd in my beard trimmer. I know, not the most attractive thing a man wants to see in his bathroom. Then I repair my programmable Christmas tree light timer which needed a coin cell 1.2v Ni-MH with PCB mounting tabs.

Comparing batteries against each other, This was just a fun project to do. I only did the test once and it did not go the way I thought it would, took a bit of time. their are many type of batteries out there I chose the batteries that i did because of convenience, Energizer,Duracell, Fusion, Rayovac, Thunder bolt, EverReady gold, Panasonic and sunbeam Alkaline, this was fun and surprising, you may not like the outcome. I will do this again when I have time.

Varta Digital USB ChargerVarta Digital USB Charger is designed to charge batteries using a mains socket, a USB port or a car adapter.Insert up to 4 AA or AAA rechargeable batteries into the battery compartment. It is possible to charge AA and AAA batteries at the same time. Each battery is charged and controlled independently. Connect the power supply to the device and plug it into a mains socket. The device comes with a USB cable and a car adapter. If you are using a standard USB port on your PC, attach the cable to the DC socket of the charging device and plug it into the USB port. If you decided to use the charger in your car, connect the car adapter to the device and plug it into the cigarette lighter receptacle. Green LEDs will turn on indicating that charging has begun. It will take about 2 hours to charge 2 batteries and 4 hours to charge 4 batteries. The exact charge time depends on the battery's rated capacity and charge level. The automatic state-of-charge control function prevents overcharging. When a battery is fully charged the corresponding green LED will start blinking. The charger will then turn on the trickle charge mode. The LED doesn't work if an error occurs (as in case of bipolarity or if batteries are damaged).

Today I will be looking at batteries. More specifically, batteries that I will be using in my "emergency" charger. I have 2 energizer rechargeables with a charger that is charging 4 duracell rechargeable batteries. Back to my filming area, we see 2 Panasonic evoltas taped together (I have 2 more like that) and finally a 3v lithium battery pack from duracell. This one is the last one I will use (or not even use) even though it is the one that will last longest.

Here's the link to these AmazonBasics batteries on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MH4QM1S/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B00MH4QM1S&linkCode=as2&tag=beaureviawes-20 Incredibly good bang for your buck Video side-by-side comparison with what Costco sells. Both are brand new batteries. You'll see Amazon has the slight edge in terms of the power you get when it's under load. Also considering that Amazon is much cheaper. ★ ☆ Original review from Beau Chevassus, Knok Studio (Media for non-profits), http://www.knok.org (Seattle nonprofit) Knok.org From Beau Chevassus: http://smile.amazon.com/gp/profile/A1IJUCICSBF7LA

Varta UNIVERSAL CHARGERVarta UNIVERSAL CHARGER is designed for charging AA, AAA, C, D and 9 V batteries. Charge time ranges from 4 to 13 hours. The exact charge time depends on the battery's rated capacity and charge level. You can insert two to four batteries, sizes AA, AAA, C, and D, or up to two 9 V batteries into the battery compartment. You can't charge other battery types in the same channel with a 9 V battery. However, if only one channel is occupied by a 9 V battery, the other one can be used for charging two AA, AAA, C or D batteries. Make sure that all batteries are inserted correctly. They must touch both contacts and polarity must be observed. Plug the charging device into a mains socket with the help of the power supply. The red LEDs will be on indicating that charging is in process. Each LED indicates that one pair of batteries is being charged. An independent LED indicates charging of a 9 V battery. When charging is finished, the LEDs will turn green. We advise you to leave the batteries in the charging device. The trickle charge mode will always keep them fully charged and ready. If you are replacing batteries in a device put the discharged ones into the charger immediately. In this way they will be ready next time you need to use them.

The new GYRFalcon All88 battery charger is an 8-bay charger with the ability to charge multiple types of batteries at once. Lithium-ion, NiMH & NiCD batteries are all compatible with the "All88". Charging currents can reach a full 1A. Each charging slot has its own digital display window. I'm not 100% certain if the All88 has had its full release yet. When I have confirmed that, I'll update this description. Visit http://lightsngear.com for reviews of flashlights and chargers. If you would like more information about the All-88, you mail email their sales department at email@example.com
