Herbal viagra effects: ‘natural’ viagra use could lead to extremely low blood pressure - TomoNews

WASHINGTON — While herbal viagra claims to be purely herbal, ingredients vary per brand and are often unlisted. The FDA has warned against using these herbal supplements, as they are not subject to the same standards as prescription drugs. According to the Mayo Clinic, viagra is a prescription medication that uses Sildenafil to stimulate an erection by increasing blood flow to the penis. Herbal or natural alternatives to viagra purportedly do the same, but often have unlisted ingredients. The British National Health Service warns that some brands, such as 'Jia Yi Jian', include prescription-only drugs Taladafil, used for erectile dysfunction, and Sibutramine, which is used to treat obesity. This brand of herbal viagra uses double the maximum dosage of Taladafil and four times the allowed amount of Sibutramine. The danger in using herbal viagra is that unlike regular viagra, the increase in blood flow applies to other body parts as well, not just the penis. This can lead to a rapid drop in blood pressure, even restricting blood flow to vital organs, especially when taken with heart disease medication, anti-depressants, or alcohol, reports the Los Angeles Times. Compared to viagra, which sells for more than $40 for one pill, a 30-capsule bottle of herbal viagra costs much less. Herbal viagra can also be bought without a prescription, either over the counter or online. ------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to TomoUSA, where we animate the most entertaining news from ‘MURRICA.
