Hi Carolyn, thanks for the videos.. just wondering about your insurance.. seems like its kinda of high around $600 / mo.. if you dont mind us asking.. what provider are you using? We're about to shop for new insurance ourselves. Thanks!
WE LOVE YOU! we are new at this. We haven't been brave enough to boondock but are learning from you so a great big heartfelt THANK YOU from me, my husband Jerry, our 3 little dogs, Cowboy, Rudy & Scruffy, without your videos we would of never known to enjoy freedom as you have.
You are very lucky being able to boondock I can't do nothing like this because I live over here in the uk you are right in what you say, life is very short when you compare it to the age of the earth what an awesome place, my candle has almost burnt out because I'm 74yrs old now, Caroline and Capone thankyou for sharing this Beautiful video with me
Hi Carolyn!! I give you All the credit in the world for doing this, wow, you are a very brave lady!! How do you handle any danger, tho I'm sure our creator watches over you!! You are fascinateingly creative and thoughtful and you are the shit!!! I am a native NYer, but live in NM and you remind me of myself at times especially when you talk to yourself, lol!! Give me a shout sometime, thanks girl!! Name is Lori!! Be careful and keep having fun!!!
Yes that country does put your life into prospective and it also beckons you back. When I first saw it it gave me a feeling of having been there before and that was were I belong. Jaw dropping Beauty at every turn in Nevada and Utah and for those who don't appreciate the beauty it is their lose. Thanks for the wonderful adventure
hey you wonderful friendlyThis is Billy Blue and Boo an update on my progressionof the newly purchased van this is to let you know about where I am and where I want to be. I am taking care of mechanical issues as well as cosmetic issues, sad to say that it is probably going to take a while. Love what you do and are doing. Keep on doin what you do I am another angel on your shoulder and that is what I am here for. God blesses you sweetheart. I am sent to help not only you but others out there that may be struggling. this is my calling and it is what I feel in my heart. I have so much more to give than the sum of what I have ... my heart teaches me that. I will follow the heart thank you for awakening that in me. I pray for your well being and hope that your travels and adventures are safe and fulfilling .
I talk to rocks too. And I geek out over them too. My favorite Rick right now is a 5 inch carnelian sphere with an actual cave that is like a womb of mother earth. We are stardust, and are made of the exact same thing, minerals, that those rocks are made of. Earth is our home!!! Our Mother and she loves us more than most people realize!! We could not live but for Rocks!!
LOVED your video!!! I watch videos like yours & sit in my house with my RV in storage waiting for spring! Ackkkk! In about 2 years we are going to go full time AFTER we pay off the bills. I CANT WAIT!!!
Like your videos, probably watched half or more so far. Off topic question? What equipment/accessories do you use for video? What previous experience have you had with video/photography? Just curious. Thanks
Peter, I had shot one video before my first youtube video you see here and it was a short one of my life on the John muir trail last year... learning as I go here.. i use a panasonic hc v770 camera that I borrowed from a friend, a tAkstar external mic and a tripod.
ty for watching
I have a topic for you. I am having a goal for truck camper. Solo with dog and don't mind keeping it simple ish, actually looking forward towards it. As of late I'm noticing "some" RV people are rather looking down their nose at those who want and do keep it simple. The big "riggers" / retired seniors. Do you find it to be something that happens on the road? Is it possible to avoid the tribes of those people who judge others? Do you think someone in truck camper will "not" fit in if at a typical RV event? Appreciate everything you do and the spirit you have. As always - <hugs>.
Beautiful scenery! It's funny, I have been to Las Vegas and probably like most people haven't seen the beauty that is right outside the city limits. Only the soulless neon money pit. Makes you wonder.
Oh, and before I forget again, Capone is a great dog name! :-)
Ok Carolyn, gotta say you and I must be cut out of the same "geek" stone because as you were panning over the rock I was thinking to myself "wow look at how the rocks are layered " too funny!!!! I am counting the days to get the hell outta this brick and mortar rat trap and have the privilege to share in the experiences that you share with all of us. This goes for the soon to be fulltimers and those that only dream about but at the same time a bit hesitant or just unable to take the leap, sometimes you just gotta wait until your inner Spirit whispers to you it's time........let's do this. Carolyn YOU are doing what you are suppose to be doing for YOUR life and that's all that matters............YOUR life.........you go girl!!!!!
It gets old after 6 months..... its fun to get out and live in the wild.. but not forever.... if you get sick or injured it is a big problem setting up and breaking camp ect... not a long term solution.... get sick of all the dirt and dust, worrying about water and dumping, and where to camp next after the 2 weeks limit is used up.... fun experience.. but just for a while....nice to have a home close to shopping and all the conveniences...you never hear about these full timers still at it after a year or so.....
20 years living on public lands moving every 2 weeks.... not for me...I bet eventually they start to restrict the permanently living on public lands...don't think they want people doing that for years.. my house is 3 blocks from tonto national forest.. we get too many people actually living there.. one guy was there for 7 months...they leave their trash and smell up the place with their dog and human waste... I think at some point its taking advantage of our public lands
Carolyn, you inspire me. I am a 56-year-old woman who is getting ready to do this. I was recently forced into an early retirement by a small physical disability. Once I pay off my debt and build a little cash cushion and save to purchase my rv, I will be doing what you do. You and Bob Wells have been such an inspiration. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and your courage. I hope to meet you one day.
so looking forward to doing the RV thing!
even though we purchased land in Nye County to set up permanent tiny home, we will be doing Quartsite vending & boondocking next yr!
you are my inspiration & I send your videos to my single or widowed friends who are scared to death about living in retirement in poverty. there are MANY frightened elderly women alone who appreciate your bravery !!
it is enlightening....& giv8ng them hope to live out their lives happy & free!!
keep up the good work!!
You are a great inspiration Carolyn....Love your video's and your words of wisdom....God Bless you and hope you have a blessed Christmas this year and many more....Take care and love the Lord as You love the existence of Jesus Christ as he will protect you if you only ask.....Be safe and God Bless
Carolyn's RV Life Hey Carolyn..still over here with Bob and crew..altho at times it's like being alone..lol. We're having a bonfire/cook out on Sat Christmas Eve..so that should be fun. After that I may find another spot for awhile..not that much to do here.
You are literally living my dream!!!!! I'm in college and honestly I plan on doing this someday. This is pure happiness. Society isn't happiness. Waking up everyday and being a slave to a company and yourself to luxury products isn't the way to happiness. I think a lot of people would enjoy doing this. But people won't admit to it because they will refer to you as "trailer trash" or "nuts". But who cares what they say. They don't know what happiness is. Perks to you! You are doing what many many many people dream about!! Love you so much for opening everyone's eyes and enjoy the traveling! DO NOT let anyone bring you down you are truely living the most wholesome life!!!!
Amazing to think that dinosaurs probably roamed over those very rocks. In real estate they always say that it's all about
"location, location, location" ... you have all of that - and more - every day! You are living a very blessed life. :-)
I live in the UK, in the North West of England, whilst we have RV's here they are for the most part pretty small (like my country), which you can drive from the very North of Scotland (John O'Groats) to the very South of England (Lands End) in a day. There is however a way that some people in England and Wales (for the most part) live a similar life though, they live on barges on the canals (which were the waterways used to transport goods before the age of the internal combustion engine), the barges are very well fitted out and look beautiful. In some places (in Wales for example at Llangollen) the barges are still pulled by horses.
Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful words, sense of humor and video of the awesome BLM land. I cannot wait to escape the rat race and experience the freeness of the open, beautiful land. You seem genuinely exhilarated. Happy Trails!!
Enjoy your videos but not the desert and don't care for rocks, love the woods and green. Enjoyed your video about questions, as for your situation as long as your not one who does that with out Gov. help I am all for you to do your thing. I have a question for you, did your marriage end before your RV days or before? Just wondering since we retire in 2017 and hope to spend about 2+ months at a time RVing around. We have a Hybrid Trailer that we tow and when opened up it has lots of room, just now when moving. Do you ever use RV campgrounds with hookups? My wife likes them the best but I know some places can get pricey. Here in So CAL $50 a night is cheap. So any comments would be cool.
Derick.. that is one of the best things I've ever read.. made me smile! Thank you so much. I'm happy you're enjoying being a part of my journey!! I wish you both lots of luck and success in chasing your RV LIfe!! - Carolyn
Dammit! You have us hooked on watching your videos, keeping us motivated, and enjoy seeing Capone, he seems like a wonderful dog and great traveling companion. We hope to cross paths when we finally hit the road for good. You rock! Peace & happy travels.
LOL@geeking over a rock....never stop appreciating mother earth and that is what you do! Thank you for sharing your home, life and views with all of us. Stay safe friend xox Wish I could send you a few of my candles.
I have been there MANY times. People used to set off fireworks there for many years until the nearby town of Boulder City stopped them just a couple years ago to try to force people to go to their paid event. Near Dry Lake are several other neat places. Don't know if your rig could make them all though. Enjoy.
At 8:14 I saw a profile of a face in the rock formation, like you might see in a cloud 😁 Thanks for the videos! Gives me hope of a brighter future for me. Ben the worst year of my 51 years. Married 31 years, divorced this year. You are spreading a little hope in this rat race world. Thanks & God bless.
Anthony - <smiles<!! I am glad my vids bring a little happiness and inspiration to your day. I am so sorry you are having a rough time.. I've been there. I Thank you very much for watching and sharing my adventure with me, I wish you happiness and peace ! - Carolyn
Thanks for sharing your awesome life. I hope to meet up with you one ☝️ day. I didn't know America had so much PEACE to share. I live in the rat racing city of NYC. Still working and filling addicted to the get over the hump lifestyle. Smh,😖😠😕these Rv videos give me hope. Keep doing what you do. Peace✌🏽️
Thank you for taking the time to make this awesome video... It sure was some pretty rocks and scenery... One day soon I'll be physically able to be back out on the road on three wheels again and seeing those sights first hand :)
Hahaha. Guess you're not a creationist :-) The rocks would only be 4k years old.
It never ceases to amaze me how few people actually realize their own insignificance in relation to nature. We (humans) think we can handle nature by using more technology just to find that nature will always win. Of course nobody in power would ever admit that.
I live in boulder city--your at dry lake where I go to shoot my cross bow. many thousands of solar panels surround the north side. wow--I could have possibly seen your rv the other day when I was there. have a nice xmas
