I liked his teaching style until all the grammatical errors ,which for me , made me question the effectiveness of his teachings as a whole. Come on English teacher, you are the one who is not supposed make those mistakes and the one to catch those errors when “we “(students) make them.🙁
I must PASS a reading comprehension EXAM for a job.
It's a 59minute test 59 questions.
Yes. I've taken the test before, twice even. No success in passing the first part, which is READING COMPREHENSION. Yes. I really need this job. HELP
*As a professor of education and the mother of a 3 ½ year old daughter, I can say on two fronts that this Learn-to-read program is priceless in the development of early literacy [Check Details Here ==**https://www.facebook.com/Teach-Your-Child-To-Read-731975013638587/app/208195102528120** ]. The creator of this very program knows its pedagogy.*

Same with me. I'm struggling with English Comprhension a lot.
But I got tips for you that I summarize while I'm dealing with it.
1. Read like you know how they are speaking.
There is hidden intonation while you are reading. Sometimes as non native we could not find the intonation. Or our intonation are different wiith them. Like me, as asian, my Intonation are different with western people. In English they have no "Intonation" in their words. Only the sign at the end of their sentences. Like "?" "!" etc.
This hidden intonation is important. It makes you getting easier to absorb the meaning. Altough it's hard.
If you can find how the writer "speaking or talking" in his written passage, you would understand it quickly.
2. Beware their synonyms, idioms and Prepositions
The English speaker ALWAYS use different words for the same meaning in their culture. And most of the time they use prepositions which is, as a non native, really hard to understand because we don't know their culture and their custom. Like "Look down" means disrespect or "look up" for respect. This prepositions most of the time give the non native obstacles because it makes us translate the real word first and suddenly we do not know the meaning
Awlays pay attention to this
I got more tips, but I think that are the most important one.
I'm 53 and going back to college. One regret is that I was never a book reader. My comprehension is bad, and I'm in the process of improving it. After watching this, I think I will improve dramatically. Thank you James!!!
