Wow no seatbelt again I know you’re a do what you want when you want type of person but it would be nice for the first responders to find a person buckled in and alive after a truck runs you off the road and into a simple ditch versus searching through the bushes for a lifeless body flipped out the window and got smashed by their RV or hit one of the large moose that dart out in front of RVs quite often in Alaska The freedom of no braw and the freedom of no seatbelt are not quite the same at least do us all a favor and have a note somewhere in your RV So we know what we can do with your body after we find you dead with Capone Licking your cold face. Go ahead blow this off as just another troll.
Bird, a troll?? No, I don't take unsolicited advice as trolling. I take it as unsolicited advice from a person I've never met and don't know from Adam.
But the first responders in the world thank you for considering their feelings over my freedom of choice
So good to see someone as excited as I am about the north country! Stewart/Hyder is an amazing area. By now you may have already passed by our place on the Cassiar Highway. It is the last part of the BC side of the border before entering the Yukon. Not there at the moment otherwise I'd stand out on the road and invite you in!
Perhaps the sign discouraging larger rigs from traveling on it to the glacier is because of permafrost under the gravel roadway and it gets soft in warmer weather? Anyway, so happy for you and excited that you share this with us!
My sister took me on a 14-night cruise last fall to Alaska. We took the seaplane ride and it is more amazing in the plane. I hope you will take a ride. Not sure what you will do with Capone, but maybe he can stay in the shop. Enjoy! I am smiling with you!
Thanks Carolyn. Really enjoy you sharing the history of places you visit. Be safe. ((Hugs)) ♥️🐶
Anyone here followed the Alaska bush family that lived up there and a few others? Alaska sure is beautiful but, I know I would not want to be there during winter, otherwise would love to visit.
It's so GOOD to see you with a BIG smile!! So HAPPY!!!! & all I can say is WOW!!!! BEAUTIFUL!!!! WE'RE IN ALASKA!!!! Glad you made it!!! Thanks for the video/views!! I know it's BEAUTIFUL on video's But you just gotta be there to really enjoy it!!! DEFINATELY on OUR Bucket list when we start. I Just CAN'T WAIT TIL WE DO!!! LOVE YOU & CAPONE!!! BIG HUGS to you both!!!!!
Oh, how I want to do what you’re doing!! Life and those circumstances keep me from that lifestyle for now. Maybe someday when my son is grown and I can convince my husband to do this way of life with me...
Love it! A sign stating may someplace may not be recommended for an RV is a dare for Carolyn LOL! And a classic Carolyn moment...."Let's go check it out just a little ways..." and drives on forever! HA! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for taking us on your wonderful adventure!!!!! I am really glad to see you so happy!!!!! The views are absolutely amazing and I am in awe of all that you are showing us!!! Thanks again!!!
The beauty brought me to tears. I'm so happy for you. Love the beautiful smile on your face. To catch the sea plane upon arrival was amazing. The quaint buildings with wooden signs, buntings was so amazing. I'm tickled pink over this trip. What amazingly beautiful scenery. Oh, lol Lol about CAPONE checking out the new camera. That shot is worth a million. Thank you.
WOW WOW WOW!!!! 1st. I don’t ever think I have seen you SO happy and it just made me so excited for you !!!! 2cd. I just LOVE that little town with the great BIG view .... I mean that is some kind of beautiful !!!! And 3rd. Capone and his sniffy nose was just so precious. 🐕🐾 he is such a sweetie and I can’t even tell you how happy I am for you... and I just hope every day is as great for you as this one. I can’t thank you enough for taking us along!! 🌸🐻
Good thing you turned around. Although the road was good for a while, when you start up the Salmon Glacier it is one lane road and extremely rough. We were a little concerned just driving our pickup to the top.
"I might never return" - yea, that's what I was thinking. It'd be interesting to over winter there. SE Alaska isn't as cold as further north. Ever consider the Alaska ferry? I guess it stops at little islands and you used to be able to get on and off.
You know how they say, you start looking like your dog, there was a frame of your video right after mail call and it cut to you and Capone in the RV and you both had the biggest grins on both your faces and you too looked too much alike! Awesome! Safe Travels!
Your smile was great it would have been even bigger if you had gone all the way to the glacier or done the bear walk at fish creek. You can see all of Alaska at Hyder except for Denali of course. Seeing your happy face brings back good memories. M
Carolyn, you are making me homesick, I grew up in Ketchikan until I was 9 years old and I remember it well enough that I feel actually homesick for what you are seeing. I hope to get back someday, but enjoy for me in the meantime.
The reason they prohibit large vehicles on that road is to keep it nice, big heavy vehicles do tend to tear up the surface and leave ruts making it hard to maintain and not nice for small vehicles. Just something to think about.
Really enjoying your videos, I found you while doing some research for my own series of renovating a School Bus to work to retire & let your company pay for the travels. I will work till I die like so many others but at least it's remote work. Series is "MrBoogie Takes the Bus to Work". I don't buy a lot of stuff from videos but did buy your book & found some great tips in there. Still getting my series going but have to say your editing on this video is great adding a lot more travel scenes along with the narration. Great job. Still working on the Branding for YouTube but here is a link if you want to take a look & give me some pointers, already know the intro needs work: https://youtu.be/M_7-7DK-Bx4 Enjoy Alaska & be safe!
