So for the beams ,you used 10' 2x6 and not 8' as stated in the plans??

No offense taken, technically the long top horizontal pieces really depend on how wide you feel you need the space to be for your wedding... so look at the plans and decide the amount of space you want and go with that length! I promise it works. I actually just got some beautiful wedding photos back from a reader this week who used the plans (and my sister in law used this one too!). For the wedding, you might want to consider adding some bottom braces along the sides, that touch the ground- and run parallel to the ground, that extend past the Front and back 1-2 feet in front and back for added stability, since you won’t be attaching it to a deck or concrete foundation... I hope that makes sense!

Remodelaholic don't get me wrong,I live the idea.actually I am using it to build one for my wedding coming up..I just noticed that on the dimensions for the top it had a total span of 120 inches but the plans stated I needed two 96 inch 2x6's for the beams..that was all I was just asking...I didn't mean to offend anyone or the plans.. awesome build.just wanted to make sure I'm doing it accordingly.☺️

Not sure where he mentioned 10’, I’ll have to rewatch the video... but just stick with the plans sometimes as we are talking and building you say a wrong dimension- which is actually why we “try” to avoid exacts in a lot of building plan tutorials- so that people can follow the plans.

We have a link in the description (but for some reason it didn’t actually hyper- link). Here is the blog post, there are free printable building plans there! We have another arbor linked there as well, so be sure to check that out too!! https://www.remodelaholic.com/build-garden-arbor-budget-friendly-lumber/

No one else noticed their intro n ending were at Disneyland?! Plus I didn't see that guy use a level once lol, but still a sweet video
Remodelaholic (9 months ago)
Titan StormCrow yep! We love Disneyland! Technically this is a project we’ve had up on our deck for the last four years and we were taking it down to put in a different pergola... so you’re right he may not have been as careful putting it back together because all the screw holes already existed...
