if he stole that much meat over a 9 year period that's over 2,500 in meat per week! how much does the Texas Government waste of Taxpayer money on a pound of damn meat???? I could buy enough meat to fill a huge bed of a truck with $2,500.. what kind of meat are Juvenile Delinquents getting fed? maybe we should all do crimes to go eat that go too!

Waitaminute. If a "Sheriff" does not order food at all and pockets the money, it is "OK". But if an employee takes the food he goes to prison for 50 YEARS??! Equal opportunity, I say.

Damn. Typical Valley(Brownsville) mentality, no checks and balances and for 9 years on taxpayers dollars to run his side business.  Give him credit though for exploiting a loophole in the system as he took advantage of it for 9 years; says something about how things are run at this facility.
