I loved this video (I'm trying to view all your older videos as I'm a new sub. Big job lol) this video made me feel so happy. We adopted 2 senior dogs and one of them is terrified of thunder too
Brenda Gillespie (2 months ago)
Hi Carolyn, So understand about dogs being afraid of storms. We have a Jack Russell who is so scared. She will try and take down any dog no matter's the size (she is a scrapper) but storms make Lucy a puddle of mess when a storm comes through. I know it breaks your heart. God love your Capone. Keep on Keeping on and traveling mercies to you and Capone B. Darlene

What is the name of that guitar pickin music you are playing in the middle of the video when you are cutting the wood to cook your meal ??? I also like the music at the end of the video .
pa777billy (6 months ago)
I give up ! The more I tried , the further away I got . I have a request . Can you do some more cozy rain videos with you & Capone inside the RV snug & warm while you drink some hot coffee & give us one of you lectures about life & living while we listen to the rain hitting the roof ?
pa777billy (6 months ago)
I will try again .
pa777billy (6 months ago)
I looked up those names and nothing even close to that music I heard came up.. That music in the middle of the video was a small band ,but boy did it sound good .
Carolyn's RV Life (6 months ago)
It's all in the video description and/or at the end of the video

Being that I do Bigfoot research in Ky, I'd like to thank you for the clue about Little Lick. It's in the area of where I've done lots of research and had what I believe to be Bigfoot activity. Don't worry, I don't harass them. I just camp and observe, and if they want to interact that's fine. Love your videos and lifestyle. Don't know that I'll ever give up traditional living, but you certainly make it look inviting. Enjoy!!!

Tofu doesn't have a flavor. It can taste like whatever you want. I don't know how you do it? Glad you're healthy and happy with it though!
Elaine Broskie (7 months ago)
Beautiful intense storm. Giant hug to Capone! Fun fire and breakfast.
P. Kelly (7 months ago)
This is one of my favorite videos of yours Carolyn! So happy and relaxing. Today I finished paying off my old debts, repairing my credit and pretty soon will be the big RV show in Ft. Worth, when I'll likely get my 25 ft class C. Hopefully next year I'll see you at RTR!✌️
Carolyn's RV Life (7 months ago)
congrats on paying off the old debts!! That's so great! Good luck getting the RV and hitting the road for the RTR next year!
Steve Brettell (7 months ago)
Try lying diagonally in the hammock and you can lie almost flat which makes sleeping a lot more comfortable.
Harry Wolfgang (7 months ago)
Nice relaxing 😌 relaxing 👍🙏❤️

I have had mixed results with storm tolerance, my 1st mutt dog (chow chow/gsd mix) was kind of a weirdo when we'd get very nice super cells and tornado sirens, hail, 60+ mph wind, etc. Generation 2-3 of the dogs (a great pyrenees mix, GSD respectively) have not given a crap about the weather besides being good about coming to their humans or good cover when there is lightning and they're not already in good cover. I need to research that before generation 3 gets old and generation 4 arrives and not leave it up to luck. I guess it helps that I get them as puppies in the Spring which is good severe weather season in my region of the South so some of their earliest long term memories are of getting pounded by supercells and derechos, we don't freak out so they don't freak out. The cats have not cared either, for some reason all of my cats have been pretty big and lean killing machines. Utterly fearless except veterinarian office. It's currently deer and duck season in my region of the South, you should be aware of the hunting seasons in the Southern states you travel in and wear orange vests on your person and on Capone and any future dogs should you continue doing this RVing thing if you don't want to get .243, .270, .30, or worse entry wounds out of ~nowhere this time of year in the middle of nowhere bits of the South.

I was watching your Dudley visitor video, I  had seen it a few hours ago, and it came up again, so I was just  watching it again, then after about 5 minutes, a commercial came on, but instead of returning to that video, YouTube switched me to your Camping  in Ky , posted on 11/2/17 . I can  see how  this  might make  your views go down.  I don't  get to  watch everyday, but  I look forward to your  free videos.   ;)

What a beautiful campsite and National Park, reminded me of a State Park on the coast out here in CA.. I and friends stayed a weekend at one year!!! Fog and all is so beautiful!!!!
Vhonda Shannan (8 months ago)
The trees haven't started turning colors there yet. It looks so pretty here in Iowa with the red and yellow trees and the harvest going on. Awe, Capone doesn't like being reprimanded....he is sensitive. What a good boy! They say bears smell to high heaven as well as big cats. I bet Capone can smell them and is on alert. Man, that is beautiful and well maintained park. Capone doesn't like hearing God dump the tater wagon, does he? It's loud! Bless his heart. You should totally do Survivor, you could be a millionaire.
Chris Germana (8 months ago)
Love the birdies! My dog barks with the thunder. The sound of rain is awesome.Home sweet Home and so quite.I love your allegiance!Hammock looks fun and comfy.
Irene Roberts (8 months ago)

Thefrugalgal (8 months ago)
Hello! Your information on a vegan diet has got me interested in making some changes to my own diet. Can you recommend a brand of nutritional yeast that has a cheesy taste? I would be purchasing it from Amazon. Thanks!
Thefrugalgal (8 months ago)
Carolyn's RV Life I've read that some nutritional yeasts have more of a nutty flavor. THANK YOU for your reply. I want to make some of that tofu scamble I have bought the organic tofu now i need to buy the yeast. I live in an area where yhey do not carry it, is there anbrand you prefer I can order from amazon? I was looking at Sari? Brand since it is unfortified.
Carolyn's RV Life (8 months ago)
the cheesy taste IS the nutritional yeast itself,.
Steve Brettell (8 months ago)
Sleep diagonally in the hammock, and you can be flatter

Looks like a beautiful spot. Definitely worth a stop the next time I have a few days to spend in Kentucky.

poor capone thunder sucks
Carolyn Tolliver (8 months ago)
P.S. - Are you familiar with Nomadland by Jessica Bruder? Bob W is interviewed extensively, among others. Well written, very thoughtful, colorful and considerate of so many who changed their lifestyles and why, since the Recession of 2008.
Carolyn Tolliver (8 months ago)
What a kid you are, so funny with the hammock!
Lana Hallock (8 months ago)
I love rocking chairs - the hammock would be a light weight rocker that would fit in my motor home for travel. Really wowzer video.
Lana Hallock (8 months ago)
Shut the door would help your dog. I have been comforting my lab through thunder & fireworks & he is less & less frightened. Also you can wrap a blanket snug around the dog. I always say "it's OK just a noisy storm" or "noisy neighbors" for fireworks. I don't baby him I just comfort him. He & I get on his end of the bed & snuggle through it. Your breakfast looks delicious. Wowzer video.

Love nooch (nutritional yeast)! I buy bulk nooch and bulk does NOT have B12 but does have the other B's which are naturally occurring in nutritional yeast. If you buy some commercial nutritional yeasts they may add B12 supplement but do please check because that's not always the case. LOVE nooch <3
Shirley Brooks (8 months ago)
Ahh, poor capone, I have a Labrador that shakes like that too with a rain storm. I hug her and hold her tight. didn't know you shouldn't. love watching you. I plan on going on the road with my labs and husband. we have 6 dogs. they help me feel safe.
Robin Q (8 months ago)
love your videos, love capone.  we had thunder so loud and long the other nite i thought it was a plane going to hit our house.  my pup didn't even wake up.  lol

Does the hammock have a mosquito net attached? Does it zip closed?
Glenda Hernandez (8 months ago)
TRY LAYING ON IT ON AN ANGLE SO THERE'S LESS CURVE IN YOUR SPINE

I'm glad you've found an appreciation for hammocks! I love them.

I love our hammocks too. So easy to put up and so relaxing.
Jude W (8 months ago)
Some does get static electricity shocks from storms as well as being afraid of the noise of thunder storms. Link to more on why dogs are frightened during storms. My one dog is while my other dog was not. https://www.rover.com/blog/dogs-thunderstorms-and-static/. Nice video thanks!
Blonnie Jenn (8 months ago)
I need to try your meal, as I need good protein sources. This video was lovely. Trying to talk my husband into doing what you are doing! :)

You do rock that hammock. But can you compete with this cutie? https://youtu.be/UUxBzV_aq8E Beautiful campground
Carolyn's RV Life (8 months ago)
can I compete with a donkey? Probably not
Rich R (8 months ago)
you don't need trees all the time . . . tie it to a sign post, chain link fence, . . . or Matilda!
Carolyn's RV Life (8 months ago)
I tend to avoid signs and fences... thank you though
Lois Ashley (8 months ago)
Check out Noah's Ark while in KY. Really impressive even if you are not religious
Leshia Gambrel (8 months ago)
Hey Carolyn, lol! You're somewhere close to me at this point. Not that I'm trying to stalk you. But that rain you got came over me too. Nice sharing it with ya! You know, here In Knox co Ky we just had the Daniel Boone Festival. They have rides and carnival type atmosphere. Not probably big like you may have seen other places but still pretty full. I hope you can catch it first few days of oct . next time, it happens Each year. We used to make quilts in school for the windows in town at festival times. And many kids made replicas of past history forts and so on. It seemed even more authentic when I was a child. They dressed in the clothes of that period. My daughter was in Girl Scouts when she was young, well I dressed like the women back then, I had the long dress, my shawl, and a bun hair doo. My daughter had a dress made by her great great aunt, it had a bonnet and everything. If you ever come see the festival, dress like back In Daniel Boone's time. So fun to do.

I beg to differ. Enjoy that burger and fries
Dianne Rodriguez (8 months ago)
I love hearing the rain coming down. It’s so peaceful.
doecreekgirl1 (8 months ago)
TFS! This vid made me homesick. Bears, big mtn cats, wolves are back and active, coyotes & small cats never left the area around and in DB Nat'l Forest. Heavy cold ky rain in summer is the best shower, we'd run for bathing suits & soap. Loved the sun coming up thru the trees with morning mist still in air, beautifuul
Armanda Lebron (8 months ago)
try black salt on your tofu, it tastes like eggs. Amazon sells it
The Leguminator (8 months ago)
Yes on the black salt --- I also like it in tofu 'egg salad'
Armanda Lebron (8 months ago)
I am also a vegan but I do miss some of the tastes of the past. The tofu crumbled with the black salt and spinach tastes as if I had real eggs. I saw some of the vegan packaged products in the store you went to shop, they are not so tasty or healthy. You have such freedom that i would enjoy having but family and 5 great grandkids keeps me grounded here in Boston. Take care and be healthy. give Capone a pat for me
Carolyn's RV Life (8 months ago)
I'll check it out. thank you.
Marianne Brown (8 months ago)
That thunderstorm made me homesick for the Midwest where I grew up (not missing snowy winters, though!)
Kathy Adam (8 months ago)
I must say you have wonderful values morals etc. thank you for this. We need more of this in our world.
Yvette Rankin-Hill (8 months ago)
Very nice.. it is lovely in KY. Great hammock - you look like you are having fun. Nice rainstorm. I don't think you're going to leave the south anytime soon :)

Rita B (8 months ago)
That hammock seems to have brought out the child in you!!!! Loved it.

Kathy Adam (8 months ago)
Love your campground. What a beautiful area to settle down. Capone is just the best dog/friend you could have. I love seeing him in all your filming. Those eyes melt my heart. XXXOOO
Todd Ramsay (8 months ago)
If you tie a rope between the trees about 2 ft above where you tied the hammock, you can hang a tarp over it in case of rain. It is a good makeshift tent and keeps you off the griund.
LuminesenceAlpha (8 months ago)
Hello Carolyn, I am a vegan-friendly! Great video with the hammock it brought the inner child out in all of us....yes indeed vegans eat great. <3
Kyle Higgins (8 months ago)
I always loved camping in the rain (but not in a tent!), poor Capone-he's not a scaredy boy... thunder is not fun! Always love a fire too! That hammock is the bomb!
KYWalker (8 months ago)
I recently saw a driveable camper for sale at So. Williamson Kentucky about 4 hrs from Somerset. I live about an hour from where I saw it and about 3 hrs from Somerset. I have ask a friend to get me a pic and phone number this weekend and if it sounds like something you are looking for I will send you more information. It looked like a recent model and nice looking, we have a pull trailer so I don't know much about the drive kind. If I get the info and pic, I will let you know, my friend is attending a craft fair there at the mall this weekend. I love your channel and so thankful you are sharing Kentucky in a good light. So often people put us down and make fun of our accent, we are just plain folk. God Bless your travels. Darlene Walker email address is: kybulfrogg@hotmail.com

Kentucky is gorgeous..just there. Loved the camping site. Matilda looks real cosy.
Rhonda Weber (8 months ago)
I always thought Matilda looked cozy. I think it would be hard to give up the space that you have - it seems just right. Ooooo, you made me hungry for a tofu scramble. That hammock looked really nice! TFS!
Triatic Nomadics (8 months ago)
Wow! The major reason I'm heading out in my rv this month! Breathtaking!

I am at 3:47, and I just feel compelled to stop and tell you that the incredible joy you are getting through the beauty of daybreak just fills my soul with happiness! Literally, your joy is my joy. I don't think I have ever had that experience before..and it feels really good. I am also surprised with all the amazing places you have travelled and all the beauty you have seen that you are not immune to the simple wonders of nature. Like, you see this so often one would think you would be more jaded. That is very much a credit to you.
What lovely shots of Kentucky....it caused my wife, Pamela and I to want to visit in our motorhome. Pamela said it would be great to go see the Kentucky Derby! Maybe we will get a group of RVer's to commune there.
Rod Palmer (8 months ago)
You can enjoy your hammock almost everywhere without the need for a pair of trees. If you have an anchor point fitted to the rear of the RV, as long as you can reverse up to a tree ( leaving a 8 foot gap or what's required for your particular version), you've got it made in the shade!!
Sharon Havener (8 months ago)

Rose Gold Wings - (8 months ago)
Hi Carolyn! I watched a 4min Buzz feed video just for you! :) That area is Gorgeous! Awe poor Capone! I've had dogs scared of rain & fireworks. But my dogs now, it does not phase them! I just feel awful when I see a dog shaking! I understand, it's hard not to comfort them! I absolutely Love your Hammock! 😊 Oh & Matilda looks super cozy! 😊
C Dub's Journey (8 months ago)
She's a butterfly ;-). Cool hammock & the color you have is perfect for camping.
Love hammocks. My grandfather's nirvana. He would sleep in our hammock on the screen porch when he'd come to visit from NYC when I was a child. His escape from the noise and loved being with nature on our 45 acres of country bliss. I bet he's up there in heaven right now taking a nap among the trees.
dianna2911 (8 months ago)
I love that hammock!! That is awesome. I think I'd like the subtle, forest colors best as well. What a beautiful place to stay!
Janet Marshall (8 months ago)
Great video! I think it’s the first time I have seen the “living area” in Matilda. SOOO comfy!!! Hearing the sound of rain really made me want to be out in the woods, too. That has ALWAYS been one of my favorite places to be, and experience. You ARE really good at being a kid, which I think should be a goal we have as we get older. Why not? Keep up the good work!
Deborah Newman (8 months ago)
I hope you got a still shot of the sun coming through the trees. that was BEAUTIFUL!
Old Griz (8 months ago)
Keep a can of pumpkin on hand for Capone when he is feeling ill. Works great.
Carolyn's RV Life (8 months ago)
That's what he's been eating. And he decided he doesn't like it anymore. LOL
strocat25 (8 months ago)
you wanna see beauty.. travel to south east KY. I'm in pikeville.. If you look up a place called The breaks state park.. its known as the grand canyon of the south and is one of the most beautiful places ive ever seen. you're about 2-2.5 hours from there
What a beautiful morning! I have a hammock too. Not that brand, I love mine. I’ve even set it up in the woods & took a nap. I am best when I’m one with nature too.
Janice Peck (8 months ago)
Love hammic! And the area your camped. Im open to your reviews ,bring them on This ol gal likes the new good stuff.. appreciate it too. Safe journeys Carolyn.
Dreaming Big SC (8 months ago)
I love those hammocks. We own at least four from different companies and if you lay slightly diagonal on them they make very comfortable beds. We've slept in them outside on nice nights.
Jim H. (8 months ago)
Sign of our times: "Tree hugger" is often used as a disparaging remark, as if appreciating trees and nature were a bad thing. :(
Carolyn's RV Life (8 months ago)
Yes Jim, I agree. It is sad..
Linda Bartlett (8 months ago)
Hi Caroline. Have you thought about a weather comforter for Capone? They are available for sale, but you could make up something which what you have. My last dog was extrememly fearful of stormy weather. So, instead of purchasing, I threw some of my recently worn heavy clothing, like jeans or a jacket, over him and it would calm him right down so he could sleep. I'm not sure if having my scent present helped or not, but it didn't hurt either!
Pamela Bell (8 months ago)
I have the same the Company plants a tree for every hammock sold and my fur baby takes a nap with me in it - it is a hoot with him he loves it
merlee38 (8 months ago)
you have the perfect life. I'm jealous. I had a dog just like capone she was my best friend. I miss her so much. always the most loyal friend ever.
cathy s (8 months ago)
Capone needs a weighted vest for storms! My daughter sleeps with a weighted blanket to help her sleep. Others use weighted vests or blankets for anxiety~ You might consider it.
LvnLivinFree (8 months ago)
Love the fog in the trees, wow, didnt know it could get so low! It is just gorgeous there, sun is beautiful peeking through the trees, Capone looks happy :)
Joan Hazelgrove (8 months ago)
Your hair and complexion look so softer and healthier since you have been in the East. Maybe due to less harsh sun of the desert and more shade and humidity of the woods.
Carolyn's RV Life (8 months ago)
Yes, the humidity does wonders for the complexion.
Jamilea Samms (8 months ago)
Carolyn's RV Life if you ever make it to sw washington state you welcome to stay on my land I have lots of beautiful old growth trees up in the mountains pretty forest
Kathleen Rojas (8 months ago)
Poor capone😕
Joan Hazelgrove (8 months ago)
My dog, Max, is large and the same brown color as deer. I have bought him a bright orange net jacket for when we go camping in the woods. It is just netting, so they are not hot on the dog. They are cheap and you can get one at pet stores or amazon. It could save Capone's life.
Bobalua Piper (8 months ago)
Looks like a fun place. like the hammock
