S2. Ep 27. My road trip west continues as I drive through Lincoln County New Mexico and learn some of the local history including Billy The Kid and a local war. I also find an amazing cheap rv camping spot on a dirt road in the national forest that I have almost all to myself!

I am from Oregon, but currently live IN Carrizozo! Come back so I can meet you!😉😁 I love watching your videos! If you would have gone straight over the tracks keeping the 4 winds restaurant to your right, you would have hit Capitan (smokey bear home) in 20 min (normal car drive time) and Lincoln (Billy's town) in 35 minutes 😁😁😁 that was my husband's shop with the old cars and my Jeep I am now going to start prepping to camp in (because of you)....love another female who is a good motivater! I am in my 40's as well. Almost to 45 actually. (Ft Bliss was my last duty station in 13 years in the Army ❤🇺🇸
I love to look at snow and seeing the white on the pine tree's and roof tops is pretty. I don't like to be out in it anymore, not since about the age of 40. I have no need to go play in it anymore lol. Capone still has a lot of energy, like my girl at 13 years does too. Then one day soon before I know it, it all catches up and they age almost over night and gone. Not enough time to be with our pets.
I have been watching your videos and hope to run into you someday when we, (DH and I) set out on the road. I thank you for taking on subjects that are very important to us and thanks for clueing us in on RV Jedeye. you take care and keep on doing what you do.
After watching your videos and seeing how you point your camera and the beautiful places you visit I can assure you I would buy a photography book of your travels if you ever decided to go that route. You shine even behind the camera.
Love this video Carolyn, I love small towns!!! I would like to request a town for you to check out, and do some research on, in Arizona ! My Home town was Sierra Vista, Az. We moved there in 1960 , there was not one stop light in town. Now it is quite a city ! I have no desire to return there, it is too big for me now, if I did move back to Az. We live in Indiana now, and I am About to retire. The Town I would like to see you travel through is WILLCOX , Ariz. This poor town is going to become a ghost town if something isn't done about water usage. It is a really cool place ! If you get a chance please go there and share your experience and video it for us Fans of yours .... Thank You !
I like the scenery there, almost makes me think of home, though I'm nowhere near there. I kept looking for Capone in the background when you was waiting for him to come in view of the camera. LoI! I thought you had a wild pony coming from behind when he came out running. I'm glad to see how well he's doing in his hips. He's the best pony around there! Those horses were beautiful, it's something to see wild horses like that! That's something I've never seen, or I don't think I have? It would be hard to tell because of how well they looked. Be safe, take care, see ya soon as possible!
You were walking like I do. Glad you said that it was the mono-pod! I get a new right hip in 2 weeks. I hope to finish fixing up the camper while off work. Then it will be lots of camping and BACKPACKING! Be Happy, Be Free, Be KIND!
First time commenter and I must say your videos are not only informative but entertaining too. I'll be 62 in October and plan to retire and want to purchase a 24' class C. I currently motorcycle camp and love it. Its just getting up off that ground is getting a little tough now, LOL. I'm taking my motorcycle and my cat Sam (also follow Nomatic Fanatic too). I want to be on the road by spring and hope to see you on my travels. Stay safe and continue your journey knowing that you are an inspiration to many.
I was a military brat too. I maxed out at 16 different schools before high school. I also had some really bad shit happen to me as a child, and i too repressed the memories until adulthood. The hardest part is that no one truly believes me. And i suffer from PTSD because of it. I probably should have sent this in a PM but I do NOT want to hide ANYMORE. Thank you for providing me a place to feel safe enough to share.
Carolyn do you think your early childhood (nomadic) has anything to do with your lifestyle now? I know for me, I have a hard time settling in and staying put. SO envious!! $6 a night? wow! My fiance & I are contemplating a life on the road. If you come through CO. let me know, would love to meet you!
Have you been to Iceland? I went to Iceland on a solo trip after I quit my job last year and Iceland was beautiful. The vacation to Iceland was cathartic. I drove all over Iceland, I hiked, visited small towns, lots of hiking, lots of waterfalls, hot springs, and open land.
Oh my what a gorgeous CG. Couldn't see snow flakes but plan on staying at 3 rivers. This is My kind of scenery. Thank you so much Carolyn. Enjoyed the ride and always learn from your videos. Safe travels my friend. Jp
I love this video! The country side is beautiful and I enjoyed the excitement in your voice! I could tell that you were very happy in this video! So keep doing what you are doing your excitement is spreading! Also how do you find all of these cool out of the way places?
Another great video Love where you take us on your adventures CAn't wait to get out there myself You are such an inspiration I have fallen in love with so many different places I didn't know existed. Thank you so much for bringing them alive for us
After watching you take your trip through the south eastern states and and watching you try to enjoy yourself. all I could think of was the time I put in while in the Navy, 3 years in Mississippi and nothing but yearning for the west. I came up with a saying for myself that goes "you can take the person out of the west but you can never take the west out of the person" So now I can sure see this happy transformation in you since you are back in the west. Oh and I'm from central Idaho. thanks for the videos.
A great video Carolyn. It was fun to see you so happy. The views of the mountains were lovely. You will want to mark that spot for a return trip. If you had a bunch of gas and plenty of food for a couple of days I think about 3 to 4 inches of snow would be great.
Great video. I see you had trouble with auto focus. Kept focusing on the rain drops on the windshield then back to scenery when the wipers cleared them away. I too have battled with auto focus. I usually shut it off on my Pro DSLR cameras and forced it to focus on what I wanted. Anyways great video. Looking forward to the day I can hit the road. Take care.
Carolyn, I was watching you with the horses and eating ice cream...then, well, Mr. Horse took a dump... life is so unpredictable. hahaha. I agree that the horses are beautiful. It's fun touring with you, especially when housebound and living alone. You are such fun and I adore Capone.
Yes, lovestwolaugh, technology brings us together, without having to leave the house. Carolyn and others take me to places I've never been and I don't even have to chip in for the gas, lol, but I would gladly do so and even buy snacks and drinks. God bless you too!!
With 2- 12V. lead acid batteries our RV furnace runs all night with no need of charging them with our generator but if we run the holding tank heaters too we can only go 6 hours before needing to charge them.
I know your videos are behind, but I stayed at the petroglyph camp last week! So cool and friendly campers there. Though seeing your spot makes me kinda wish I went further into the forest. Can’t wait to see your white sands video, another awesome place I got to see during my first few weeks on the road. Loving it!
