I envy you because I had plans to do something like the RV life . I saved my money and was waiting for my younger son to turn 18 then my Mom got sick and the economy slowed , I had to change jobs ,and then lost that job because of my eye sight (cataracts) ( left eye is the worst one . right is slowly getting there . On disability until I get them fixed .) (I'm only 50 . ) Been dealing with them since I was 42 ) Then I lost my house and moved in with my Mom and then she passed away and then the only thing I had left was my backyard storage shed so I moved into that . Long story short , I am still dreaming of doing that life I'm just off track for now . Living a life of being free is the way to be 😀 .

Don't laugh, but I have always wanted to own a bit of Joshua Tree land that can be seen from the road, and decorate all the trees with lit Christmas lights. Wouldn't that be pretty when you drive through at night? :)
Beautiful sunset and landskap in your bakground ,love to se Capone he is afine Dog. you are lukky to have him. Thank you for a fine video..Best of all to you bouth, from. Dk. 💐🎀💐🎀💐🎀. 🐕🎀💐🎀💐🎀💐Thank you. 💖🌷💖🌷💖

Wow!!! If there were no came movements one would think some shots were actually paintings!! Capone should be stopped from driving!! Lol He is a survivor indeed:-) xO

I love your videos and your story and seeing your adventures unfold (I've gone back to the beginning and am catching up bit by bit) My only wish is that you'd leave the captions up a little longer, between taking in what your saying (in other videos) and the views....in just don't have time to read them. My only complaint. (I promise I'm one of those nice people!) I am looking forward to doing what you do. 😆💖

Very sweet! You are so brave, if I sat on that ground, I'd be fearing snakes and scorpions. But watching your vids makes me want to be there! You are so inspiring Carolyn, your vids allow me to see and feel the great outdoors, it brings me peace... I've just recently stumbled onto your channel and I'm going through all of your vids to catch up. Thank you so much for allowing me to escape with you and Capone, it brings me peace and joy! Many Blessings and Merry Christmas 🎄

In some of the shots there are lights in the distance -- are those fellow boondockers or is that like a town or housing development? Also, how often do you go grocery shopping?
Carolyn's RV Life (1 year ago)
Tiffany - i was above a town in this location. So the lights were a city.. pretty nice views. I drive into town and go to a grocery store to do my shopping. Thank you for watching! - Carolyn

Small suggestion 4 you if you get this message: Take a drive up the 95 toward Lee Canyon And Mt Charleston ...keep driving northbound on 95 toward Indian Springs after you go past Lee Canyon Turn off more toward Indian Springs ...on thé left, there's a place called "Cold Creek"...Google it...there's fresh ice water coming out of the mountain up there in streams and a small lake...about 50 head of wild horses live there Burros and also Elk and Deer ...Bighorn Sheep too... There's a community way up there consisting of off grid cabins ...beautiful up there ...plenty of fresh water for you ...Capone and your rig too...☺ Cold Creek...that's what it's called... also there's a place just outside West of Vegas on Charleston blvd...called 1) Red Rock 2) Bonnie Springs Ranch 3) Howard Hughes..Ranch too is there... 4) Calico Canyon is beautiful this time of year too...go there too... Bonnie Springs even has a petting zoo & restaurant there.☺ and an old Wild West Show a small train and a Wild Wild West town to go see also ... Google It and you will see 4 yourself what I'm trying to explain ☺ If you like that kind of thing, that is...?? enjoy ..Cold Creek.. it's a very remote place off the beaten path only people born there 50 years ago type locals know about... ☺God Bless

First, I'm a loyal subscriber -- with the "Rule-of-250" there is no reason you can't achieve 100,000 subscribers shortly -- we can do this! As a 10-year RV-er on the Mexico International border, you are a train wreck that I can't take my eyes off. I'm not going to detail (warn or preach) what you'll encounter on your individual/personal journey, but this vid I can't ignore -- Capone. You most likely will lose Capone to rattlesnakes -- I've gone through numerous personal loses, i.e. Missy, Lucas, Coyote, Deogy, etc. -- rattlesnakes don't like humans anymore than humans like them. Snakes quiver at the mention of "Cars"! They hate us, and our pets -- which is natural. Dogs protect us humans, which is natural. Be mindful of your environment and Capone. Be careful, good luck, and best wishes.

Always a good idea to be back at the camp/rv before the sun goes down. It can get pretty dark there. :) I've been out a couple times and looking forward to out there again in an RV and no time limits.
Liz Ludchak (1 year ago)
Beautiful views! I can just imagine sitting out there next to a campfire watching the sun set, having some laughs. Right now I am making dinner and yelling at kids so it seems a long way away! LOL
Carolyn's RV Life (1 year ago)
Oh no... LOL. Glad I can provide you an escape and a dream! LOL. Someday... :-) Good luck!
Noonie57 (1 year ago)
So sweet. Capone is a doll, and the shots are gorgeous. I heard you say you travel a lot, do you like to go east to the woods and water as well as the desert?
Carolyn's RV Life (1 year ago)
The Noonie - I LOVE it all! I thrive on new experiences and exploring.. so while the mountains are my favorite, I do enjoy it all! Thanks for asking!

I loved this video! I am an orthodox Jewish woman and your video shows the magnificense of our L-rd's many creations! And living in a nomadic way is close to the way in which our L-rd created we humans to live, minimalistic and separate from worldly persuations, so it appeals to me very much. Capone acts like a good snuggle bug and being 11 1/2 he has many more years to come. My Chow chow lived to be 20 years old before he died, and we miss him so much! I would be concerned (I'm sure you already watch him close regarding this) about snake bites to Capone cause dogs are so curious. Anyway, I LOVE your videos, thank you, and please give us more!

stevendaniels123 I see caravan parks over here in East Anglia, but I don't see many driving down the roads.
Linda Robinson (1 year ago)
Thank you for this, I'm so glad Capone has found a loving home and owner, he is a lovely dog. Thank you also for describing the trees etc. I live in the UK and its great to see this beautiful vast place.
Kowalski (1 year ago)
Awesome! Thanks Carolyn. Since you're in Mojave, you're close to Los Padres National Forest...clean air, nice sights and close to the beach. Stay safe.
I couldn't hear the audio, but I loved the view.
Blueman Chicago (1 year ago)
Dear Carolyn, how much do you have to be on-guard for desert snakes? Are they something to worry about, especially with Capone?
Blueman Chicago (1 year ago)
I heard of the 'green mohave.'.....just wondering?
Carolyn's RV Life (1 year ago)
Haven't seen any. I don't really worry about it .....
LovingAtlanta (1 year ago)
Those views were stunningly breathtaking & priceless. Those views are the ultimate lesson in letting go. No matter how we try, it doesn't last and we are forced to be present to enjoy it for as long as it lasts and then we have to let go with nothing remaining but our memories. 💞
Carolyn's RV Life (1 year ago)
beautifully stated. thank you for adding a level of wisdom to this vid!

Awww 🤗💞👍 Beautiful video. Thanks.

Retired and Inspired (1 year ago)
I lived in the high desert for 17 years near Mojave before moving here in the Willamette Valley. Snow in the winter of course is not that unusual there. Joshua trees also grow in Israel BTW. The beauty of living in the high desert is .... the every changing beauty. It is never the same 2 days in a row. and 60 MPH roads around town. I watched your video to warm up. You left Oregon just in time to miss the Arctic blast!!!
Carolyn's RV Life (1 year ago)
Hmmm. The sources I read said they only grow in the Mojave desert.. Interesting..thank you! glad to know I got out of Oregon in time! Thanks!

Carolyn's RV Life (1 year ago)
It wasn't cold.. I had treats in my hand! :-p

Just unfortunate to always see a sky full of chemtrails. They need to stop doing that to us. Nice desert! Nice doggie!
Carolyn's RV Life (1 year ago)
Oh.. yeah.. it's annoying when you're out in the back-country backpacking and you hear planes fly overhead ever few hours (Yosemite is in a flight path). Ty and WOOF!
CK H (1 year ago)
WARNING Due to the frequency of human-bear encounters the BC Fish and Wildlife Branch is advising hikers, hunters, fishermen and any “persons” that use the out of doors in a recreational or work-related function to take extra precautions while in the field. We advise the outdoorsmen to wear small noisy bells on clothing so as to give advance warning to any that might be close by so you don't take them by surprise. We also advise anyone using the out-of-doors to carry Pepper Spray with him in the case of an encounter with a bear. Outdoors-men should always be on the lookout for fresh bear activity nearby and be able to tell the difference between black bear feces and grizzly bear feces. Black bear feces is smaller and will contain lots of berries and squirrel fur. Grizzly bear feces will have lots of tiny bells in it and smell like pepper.

Daniel Hawkins (1 year ago)
the "mohave desert" is a hideous place,...to be experienced once. (I was homeless in Nevada,....absolutely nothing lives there,....full of dead "melted dogs" (because they don't decompose,...they petrify)
Daniel Hawkins (1 year ago)
Carolyn's RV Life well it is more prevalent outside Large metropolitan areas,...(like vegas)
Carolyn's RV Life (1 year ago)
Of all the time I've spent in the desert -weeks now, I've never experienced that.. interesting perspective.
Start The Rebellion (1 year ago)
Yes, dead dogs would be quite sad, but the Mojave desert is very big and holds a lot of beauty and serenity for some of us. I've never been to Death Valley though... and I've never been homeless in the desert, but I can appreciate that perspective.
Daniel Hawkins (1 year ago)
Start The Rebellion yea,...it's a little different outside of N.Vegas,...domestic dogs escape,..and Quickly succumb to dehydration,...(most people never see all the dead dogs, because they simply don't "walk around the desert aimlessly),...also,..it looks worst than is is,because many corpses are very old.
Start The Rebellion (1 year ago)
Wow Daniel, that's very graphic. My experiences of it have been quite different. I guess it's all a matter of perspective.
Aethelwulf Freawine (1 year ago)
Beautiful video Carolyn! Interesting to see the open spaces, but I'm more of a forest and waters denizen. - michigan
Earl Ismyname (1 year ago)
This is not sustainable way of life when you wreck your vehicle or should the cost to repair surpass your means, rupture a disc in your back, break a leg, get shot whatever.... This is very dangerous to live on the streets in areas unknown, a matter of time before you run in other transients that are willing to harm or kill for simple possessions or pleasure. I get the hobo thing, I romanticized about that earlier in life and as a child too, but this is not a way of life that will last very long. How many people have lived on the road doing this for more than 10 years and in what mental state have they degraded themselves to? I think moving to Alaska or some far away from people place in the states or Canada would make better sense than putting yourself at risk. Going at it solo though would require much more skills that a road map and your nearest grocery store. When you find yourself in a compromising situation and your life or physical/mental health is at risk....it will be too late to undo what the other person has in mind for you or your circumstance has delivered. If you had a child you would not risk your safety over the thrills of an adventure or whatever you may be running from in life, I would think you would want to remain near to stay a part of their life. Fun right now, 5 years down the road........10 transmissions later and a few assaults and you will find that a nice road trip and a safe place to return to a better solution to your needs of running away. A home doesn't cost 320K either unless you have to live in California suburbia. I've enjoyed the few videos I watch, but I think you will need good luck to succeed in this endeavor. I don't believe in good luck though, I believe it takes more, much more.

Just my 2 cents worth of info. I have 2 dogs, a Shar Pei that turned 14 last month. Hubby says his days are numbered, I'm not listening, but Buster has slowed down a LOT! Then Logan is a Boston Terrier that is 12 1/2. Some days he thinks he is still a puppy. LOL Our youngest son's name is Joshua. I have always wanted to see the Joshua trees! Have a Class A, 4 yrs old now. But our 2 youngest grandchildren, 2 1/2 and 10 months are keeping us close to home! We keep then while their parents work. I think more than the parents keep them. LOL Looking to be on the road soon. Maybe the other grandma will retire and take her turn at keeping them a while. LOL

Carolyn, if you were trying to talk in the video, I couldn't hear it over the music, sorry. I hope Capone lives a long and healthy life.
Carolyn's RV Life (1 year ago)
Thank you. but I was actually trying to cover the talking with the sound track.. didn't know how to do it completely. I thought the parts that came through worked.. so i left it. still learning how to edit and using free software..i should probably upgrade now. Looks like I have a new job. lol

Capone is a wonderful dog. He looks scary to a certain degree too so that is good for you. Hopefully, though, he is not too friendly if a thief were to invade your RV... I'd hate to hear that Capone helped the thieves carry the TV's out of the RV... some dogs are too friendly that way.. tee hee. lol. What a wonderful area that you were traveling through.. the ski is amazingly beautiful.
