Drinking whisky with steak at the same time is filthy. Wait till you’ve finished eating!

I will respectfully disagree with him on the wood. A fine Ghana Teak wood is the hardiest and most aesthetically pleasing wood available for ones shop.

I prefer cedar.

"Almost lost the ability to change a lightbulb" Might i intredouch you to Belgium. Where we try to make our entire house on our own. I think the inability to do a lot of work in your house yourself is more a American thing. Or atleast the youth. i think you would like it here :p

Nick offerman is a betamale and a poser
oxnard_flossifer (3 months ago)
I would like to see Nick Offerman go to a slaughterhouse and kill all the cows that day to prove what he says about the value of getting one's hands dirty, and that he values the life of the animal he eats as much as the trees that make the wood for his shop.
Brian OSullivan (3 months ago)
Give the man credit. He’s an incredibly intelligent man with great knowledge and passion in diverse fields. Nick would be someone that I’d like to have a conservation with. I feel that I would be richer just by learning from him.

I love how we get lessons about manhood from a person who does not believe men should be able to defend themselves. Is this the European edition of how to be a man?

that steak !

Steak. . Rare. . Whisky... Irish . . . . !
Jonathan Strange (3 months ago)
I kept waiting for Nick to pick up that steak and slap those orange glasses off his face with it! Guy with orange glasses asking the man with the mustache if he had a favorite wood. Does anyone else catch the irony?
Keith (3 months ago)
He played a gay character on Will and Grace. No man would ever do that. He's just a liberal whose found a niche that he plays well. Fake
billy no (4 months ago)
The white oak tree is my favorite tree as well. For lack of a better way of saying it. It's the most tree looking of all the trees around here.

Can not help this because as much as I used to like Megan Mullally, have sort of gone off the boil with her recent W & G II persona, I just can't see why people like this guy. No matter where I see him he has exactly, and only, one face he uses (something similar to a dead fish) to express whatever he supposed to be reacting to--I simply do NOT get it. Nothing funny. Nothing clever...just nothing.

I see why he keeps facial hair now... When he shaves he looks like Charlie sheens much worse off uncle, paco esteves.

"the most noble of woods"? LOL So wood can be noble now? I sure hope his whole schtick is tongue in cheek and an act, because if someone is actually like this it is fucking sad. I totally agree with some of his points about no one building or making anything anymore and being soft consumers, but this whole "manhood" schtick of his is fucking lame and if it's real, it is fucking arrogant and snobby. Fuck you are your made up rules about what a man is, like what you like and don't act like it's what anyone else should be to be anything.

Why would they choose a weak dandy in yellow glasses to conduct this interview? The host is a pathetic excuse for a man.
harveyvid (7 months ago)
Is it wrong to want to be him?
Josphelli hsilak (7 months ago)
Eating meat and drinking scotch hardly makes a man as proven by the host and his yellow framed glasses.
Sophia R (7 months ago)
I don't think he was acting when he played Ron.
Dwendele (7 months ago)
I was really surprised that Nick got the carnivore thing wrong. We are omnivores. We eat everything. When he says carnivore, he insinuates that ALL he eats is meat. No potatoes? On the subject of wood, I'd love to know what TYPE of Oak is his favorite. I like Red Oak. It's beautiful and amazingly strong. I've heard him talk about Live Oak. Very cool wood, but you're somewhat limited as its a shorter tree, with huge twisty branches and even the trunk tends to twist and bend.

My favorite wood would be a tie between hickory and mulberry. The properties of oak is nice but I just don't like it's grain. Hickory and mulberry are both much harder than oak anyway. I also totally agree that people have really lost the whole build it your self skills. People thought I was crazy when I said I was going to build my own cabinets. I thought it was not even close to the most difficult things I've done and it only cost me $1800. My cabinets are now all solid wood with plywood where needed. The place that I got a quote from wanted $10000 for cabinets not built to my specifications and not using plywood where needed. They were going to make the boxed out of particle board. I stood up and said "fine I'll build it myself". I've renovated everything in my house, built a sun room, a shed, a deck, and a 2.5 car enclosed garage with a green house on it's roof.

fitting that American white oak is his favorite wood, since it's used to make the barrels to age is favorite whiskey. (along with most other whiskies)
Mandy Olsen (7 months ago)
My dream man
Charlie Rakowsky (7 months ago)
Lagavulin is pretty mediocre compared to the other Islay whiskies and the quality continues to diminish every year. A real man knows to drink Laphroig quarter cask for that ultimate peat fix.
Chips O'Tool (7 months ago)
Offernan is a liberal. Swanson would punch his lights out. And what right does a man in yellow glasses have to discuss masculinity?
Oliver Wilson (7 months ago)

Nick Offerman needs to do a Teddy Roosevelt documentary. Seriously dude
Dangerosu (9 months ago)
Fun fact (and awesome coincidence): Lagavulin Scotch is aged in OAK barrels. That is why it's so good. It actually absorbs some of the fragrance of the oak.
Chuck Deuce (9 months ago)
How does anyone take the guy serious with those stupid glasses
michael LaManna (9 months ago)
I’m surprised he didn’t comment on how American white oak is also the wood that ages whisk(e)y
