So cool that you were that close to were we live (Elizabethtown) near Ft. Knox. Something cool in North Carolina that you may not have been aware. During Spring/Autumn time frame near Whiteside Mountain near Cashiers N.C. called "The Shadow of The Bear" the setting sun creates a natural pheonomenon. You can watch this on YouTube.....it is so cool to watch. People park along the roadside with camera in hand. Keep on Keeping on and traveling mercies for you and Capone. Peace B. Darlene

I admire you and you seem to be a very beautiful person 😊👋 oh I would recommend outside cameras on your camper that you get a 360 degree view and I understand the Serenity of nature you enjoy so much a loan

I love thunderstorms too. They're soothing to me. Rain on the roof of my motorhome is a lullaby to me.
JoAnne Pepe (3 months ago)
I think no one who hates you is important enough to l worry about. Some folks just get off on being an online bully. They're just creepos. Life is too short to waste time with them. I love your videos. Yours is the only YouTube channel I watch consistently. I do enjoy your outlook on life. Keep it up

I missed this one in November...so I'll say thanks for the fall colors and tips about weekends. Also, the thoughts and reflections on the 2016 RTR and upcoming 2017 RTR were interesting to me since I'm intending on making it to the 2018 RTR.

"Amateur hour"! That's what you mean. Those weekend partiers. Those people who walk through other people's campsites are inconsiderate. To say the least.

You are such an inspiration. I'm gleaning so much information from your videos...which I will need when I make my transition into a new life. (Hopefully within the next year or so). There wasn't anything that I didn't love about this video. The fall color, the still lake, the awesome thunderstorm...and that fog! And I could feel the intrusion of those people, right to my core. That's because you make people feel like they are actually right there with you..on an adventure. I usually write down my fav places from your videos, in my (pre) travel journal. Thank you for letting me see the places I want to visit, or not...lol.. before I even get in my vehicle.

Question,,, It looks like Checking out of the rat race is definitely feasible and freeing. What would checking back in look like? I know If I sold my bay area home I would never be able to buy it back.

I remember when you went last year.Wow,didn't realize i had been watching that long.I always liked hiking alone best.I just couldn't enjoy it if the people i was with talked nonstop

The ugly people ; the trouble making people; ; the mess making , loud people ! I am finding that it is almost impossible to get rid of & be away from them . The are real downers . Maybe it is better to be like my ex-husband , a gregarious person who always liked having people around and deep into our personal business . People like him don't suffer the way loners do . Please know that when you talk about things like this I really , really know how you feel .

I've always felt that there is an abundance of beautiful places in Kentucky and I like the State. I've yet to visit the Ozark Range in Missouri, but I have spent time in the Ozarks of Arkansas and there too exist stunning places that are, IMHO, well worthy of a visit!

Water... a magnet for morons LOL. Water certainly attracts many people and unfortunately, they attract the rowdy, and if you're lucky, the majority are respectful folks that just want to enjoy the great outdoors. Keep up the great work and thank you for taking us along. Oh, check the air filter on the generator, but I think if you have a bolt under the carb/fuel bowl there is probably a little water in there, and draining that might make the generator less temperamental.

Oh my gosh you were about 30 miles from me!!! I would have loved to actually gotten to meet you! I watch your videos all the time! Hoping that some day soon we will be able to spend lots of time traveling, boon-docking, seeing the country. But for now I live that part of my life through you :). Love your open mindedness, your bravery, “be kind” attitude! I wish you peace, health and safety on your travels! Have fun!!! ...... we are talking about attending the RTR even though we haven’t gotten a RV just yet. Gotta start somewhere 😄

Absolutely beautiful camping spot! Loved the storm too! My husband and I moved to Louisville back in the summer and have been getting to know this area. This spot is on our list for sure. As for being a single woman in the woods with a bunch of men with guns (hunters :-) lol), you were probably very safe. They seem to be a quiet respectable group of folks. Safe and happy travels West.

Oh I absolutely love a storm! That was a good one! I hope you enjoyed Missouri and I really hope you made it to Eminence. It's in the Ozarks. There is free camping right on the Current river at a place called Jerk tail landing. It's absolutely beautiful and plenty of solitude during the week and in the fall. There might be a canoe or two go by every so often but they just keep on their way. It's one of my most cherished camping spots. You can google it and it says unconfirmed. That cracks me up! It's off hwy 19. If your heading toward Eminence it's on your left but the sign is on the right and you really gotta watch for it. Anyway, if you ever get back that way again, it's worth the 7 mile drive down the road to the river!

I can not understand why anyone would or could hate you just from your videos. I find them informative and entertaining as hell. I am jealous, you are living my dream. But I could never hate you. I feel like you are family, sometimes. Like a distant cousin who likes to live free. Don't let the schmucks get you down! Happy Trails Miss Carolyn.

Hello again from rural New Hampshire. I am going to be hitting the road full time in April \May. I bought a 1989 Fleetwood Southwind off Craigslist for $300. Entering a campsite that is occupied is rude and disrespectful. Where I live hunters, lots of them and I live in an open carry state. No problems. Please if you find yourself near Bridgeport Texas stop into and visit CARE Rescue, remarkable people there that are a sanctuary for animals. BigCatDerek on YouTube. Thank you. Be healthy well rested and safe. Peace

People that hate you are jealous of your freedom and your brains, remember that. Love you! I love watching your videos cuz I feel like I'm traveling with you. I'd live for me an my husband to explore our state fl.

When you first headed into the South, you sounded rather nervous about what you would run into. By the time you finished, you sounded like you really enjoyed being the the southeast. As a native Alabamian now in Dallas who does a lot of nomadic traveling, I'm glad that you enjoyed your time in the South....

Shoot, I missed another one. Why is it half the time I click on a link for a video of yours now it is unavailable? Is that because of the Youtube demonetizing videos thing? Sucks that you can't send some kind of reminder out when the video becomes available again. I find myself missing videos when they're available for watching now. It's pretty obvious Youtube has jumped the shark. May I suggest Vimeo instead?
Carolyn's RV Life (8 months ago)
Yes... the demonitized it.. sorry for the inconvenience.. It's not even about the money, it's principle. I feel like they're just messing with us and it's pissing me off! sorry. and yes, it does suck I can't put a message up saying to come back.

For some reason, I was unable to comment under the video where this comment belongs. I did like the video and am leaving my comment here since I can't put it there! ;-) I have asked fellow follower's whom are also Facebook friends what they like about watching your video's. The answer is that you are living the dream that they want to live but for some reason or another are unable to. Through watching your video's, they are being able to live their dream if only through their eye's watching you! #Capone

I was just watching your last video. Got to the giveaway part and got the error that the video was unavailable. Texted my Internet connection and all good. Very strange.

I enjoy your videos and respect the chances you're taking but don't be such an anti-social miserable person. There was what appeared to be children enjoying the beautiful natural playground and you come off as the grumpy old lady that wants to chase them away.

Breathtaking views! Wow on the people walking into your camp uninvited, very rude! I hope your time at the RTR goes well and people will respect your privacy.
dechinta (8 months ago)
Lots of people hate me. I had a guy on YT who called me a f_____g b___h and a c__t because I am disabled and own a dog. He said if I couldn't afford solar panels, I sure couldn't afford a dog. Whoa! Call me the b word and the c word all you want, but don't tell me I don't deserve a dog! I thought 99% of the population liked me, but after joining Facebook and YouTube and by occasionally mentioning my political beliefs, I have discovered I am downright hated by many people. Those poor souls! I wish I could be at RTR and see you! Although I will probably never meet you irl (but never say never!), I think you are awesome! I think my Audie Ned would have a grand play date with Capone, although I think he would probably get on Capone's last nerve. LOL I have panic attacks just going in Wal-Mart, so I probably would freak out at RTR, even though I think many of my "tribe" would be there. Keep on truckin'! We love you! To heck with the people who are too stupid to not love you! <3
Carolyn's RV Life (8 months ago)
And thank you for the kind words.
Carolyn's RV Life (8 months ago)
I'm sorry you get all that too.. Yeah, people can be cruel.. :-(
nancy strickland (8 months ago)
I agree with you about people just knocking on my door. Another thing I have noticed is people taping you tube videos and putting a camera in someone's face without asking the people. THAT WOULD DRIVE ME CRAZY! Sometimes people just don't want to be on a video. love your work. Peace and safe travels.
Carolyn's RV Life (8 months ago)
nancy, Yes, I always ask permission before i put anyone's face on video.. that is rude. and thank you for the compliment
tx2sturgis (8 months ago)
Wait, did you just tell 47 thousand Youtubers no video recording? Huh?
tx2sturgis (8 months ago)
Oh...I wasn't referring to rights or laws, just standard practice for most people....you are a celebrity now...a public figure in a public place putting on a public seminar. I think you should revel in it and maybe promote a few products and enjoy the revenue and the exposure. Just a thought.
Carolyn's RV Life (8 months ago)
Also, if I'm in public and specifically say, "I do not want to be recorded", wouldn't that give me the right to NOT be recorded? I'm not arguing either, but that thought just came to me. I wonder what the laws are about that. It seems if I declare that you don't have permission to record me, that should be binding.
Carolyn's RV Life (8 months ago)
Also, a point of clarification, it may be a public place, but Cheap RV Living is having to get permits for the event. Therefore the event, while on public land is a Cheap RV Living event and therefor subject to certain rules.
Carolyn's RV Life (8 months ago)
I would hope that if we state our preferences up front people would respect that. If they don't, they will be asked to turn off the camera and if they still refuse then I guess I can choose to stop the class.
tx2sturgis (8 months ago)
In a public place how would you enforce that? Not arguing...just sayin...
Carrie Fay (8 months ago)
Carolyn! Super excited to hear your RTR plans. I hope my girlfriend and I bump into you! we both thought it was hilarious to hear your reaction to people in your camp, i think we both UGH'd very loudly - we would have reacted the exact same. We are too introverted for our own good, also it's just etiquette! Very disrespectful when people do that sh*t. Totally agree with your need for privacy and alone time, makes sense that you won't be hanging around the RTR the whole time. It'll be our first time, so we will see how we do with all the people ;)
Carolyn's RV Life (8 months ago)
Carrie, I hope to see you both there! thanks for the comment and best to you both
Jonathan Box (8 months ago)
Hey Carolyn, I really like your videos and I'm a big fan of yours so when I make this statement please don't be offended by it. One of the main reasons people in the South don't like you referring to the old South as the "East Coast" is because when people hear of the East Coast they think of New England and the North which are the Yankee states. It has nothing to do with anyone being racist, it's just a way of life. I don't personally have a problem with someone from the North, but a lot of people in the South do.
Jonathan Box (8 months ago)
You're very welcome
Carolyn's RV Life (8 months ago)
And honestly, that makes a lot of sense to me. More sense than anyone has made on the subject - thank you!!
Carolyn's RV Life (8 months ago)
Jonathan, I hear you and I thank you for bringing this to my attention in a kind and respectful way. all the best, C
Sally Savage (8 months ago)
What a beautiful camping spot - how rude of those people to invade your space! That was great that you outlined your boundaries for the RTR. I'm like you in the way that I really value my privacy. I can see where the crowds would be totally overwhelming for you (and other introverts). It's difficult for me to understand people who don't respect other peoples space! Happy travels!
