I used to get migraine headaches and I found that going to the chiropractor and getting an adjustment helps relieve them. Now I get an adjustment fairly regular, like every month or so and no more migraines.
Unfortunately most pharmaceutical drugs actually cause migraine headaches cannabis however is a neuroprotectant and heals our brain not to mention it's not addictive.https://www.marijuanabreak.com/pharmaceutical-drugs-cannabis-can-replace
CArolyn; my granddaughter suffered with massive migraines and she heard about an amazing cure! It involved getting an ear pearcing in the main cartilage ( the thickest one ,more away from the outer edge).! I was dumbfounded , I was so happy for her! She asked the doctor before she had it done and he had never heard of it! That was about three years ago and she has only had one minor headache since then! THIS IS AN HONEST POST, NOT A JOKE OR PRANK! I hope you will investigate this I honestly sympathise with you! I THINK MY granddaughter inherited the headaches from me, her grandfather.I will pray for you, and keep you in my prayers " in Jesus name".
I just love you, Carolyn! No matter what the subject is you are so pleasant and sweet. I can feel your sweet heart. I realize this video isn't recent, but I hope you'll get to see my comment. It makes me feel good watching your videos & I appreciate you sharing the reality with us. I have been disabled from head & facial pain for over 14 yrs. I worked on software dev teams as a technical writer, instructional designer & training. I traveled all over the country with my work holding training seminars. Last time I was able too work was Jan 2003. The first decade I found ZERO pain relief - not even for 5 min. It was Hell, needless to say. Six head surgeries later I have no pain in the back of my head, but I havent had much relief anywhere else. So I can relate to you, big time! I hope the migraine episodes don't happen to you often. Take care & big hugs!
Amy, I see your message and my heart goes out to you. I can't imagine living in constant pain. I used to get 3 day migraines and that pushed me to my limits. (I do have them under control now) I am so sorry life has thrown this at you.
I hope you are able to find some peace..
thank you for writing.
You make me feel so much more comfortable in thinking about RVing. I am a widow and bored just being in this big house alone except for my dog and cats. I have retired three times, need something else to do. Lol. I suffer from Fibromyalgia and honestly my doctors are not enthused with my intentions to take off in a RV. But I can be just as miserable with chronic pain here in my house or out in the good old mountains and woods. I see that I can get my Lyrica in that pharmacy in Mexico. I love following you, I hope I can be as brave and adventurous as you are!!
Your vid's aren't placed in chronological order on YouTube, so I can't watch them in chronological order...I am looking forward to watching them all in their entirety, and then trying to arrange them in chronological order in my head! anyhow see you in the next vid!
Migraines suck! I hope it gets better. I love your spirit. I love your energy. I am amazed at how "up" you stay. You're a good example for all of us. Sometimes I just watch your old videos to see your smile. It brightens my day. I am serious. You have a killer smile :o)
No problem, The truth is the truth. Did you get my follow-up apology email for the bear spray email? I hope so... I have been so worried you would never answer an email from me again. I really, really do not try to give advice. I love to stay positive and it's good for my health to do so. You're very positive. The few video's I have seen where you talk about haters just saddens me to no end. I hope to meet you on the road someday, buy you a vegan dinner and tell you how much I have appreciated what you do. Toodaloo for now...
Carolyn. again, I KNOW what's causing the migraines..........I'm also in my 50s.......I lost all my 40s.....in bed w/ them......... I KNOW WHAT it is Carolyn. I hope to god you ask me so I can help you. Rita
So sorry You Were feeling Yucky with migraines. I'm so curious and concerned when Im' finally boondocking........I'm thinking it probably is harder to be sick full timing in an RV compared to being sick in the city living in a apart, ,condo or house ? Since I'm a big baby when I'm sick.
I've gotten migraines since I was a kid. Over the years, I've learned that if I take 3 Bayer aspirin at the first sign (blind spots, for me), and lie down, it will be gone in 30 minutes - works every time!
Carolyn ....so sorry about the migraine....I hv really bad ones also....I hv taken. every pill out there...etc. BUT WHAT WORKED IS. FIORICET.... PRESCRIPTION DRUN $4.00 AT WALMART....THATS THE GENERIC NAME... need more info let me know....Footlocker is a muscle relax we they used in the 50's Drs. don't like to use it . It is cheap in price....
I am not sure what became of your old computer. If you are still struggling to recover your old files the simplest solution would be to buy an external hard drive case (small 2.5" SATA I suspect). First take your hard drive out and bring it into your local Best Buy or Tiger Direct or local nerd shop so that you can get the right model. The pins on the hard drives changed over the years and not all cases support all forms. Anyway, that will change your laptop hard drive into another external USB drive and you shouldn't have any trouble getting the files off of it... unless the hard drive is shot - in which case your old computer probably is fine, just needed a new HD. Hope I didn't make that sound too complicated. It is actually pretty easy to do.
Carolyn. I lived with migraines for 27 years. All I could do was roll around on the floor, vomit and pray to the universe for death. My girlfriend diagnosed me with a sulfite sensitivity. I avoid sulfites and my migraines are gone now. I still get moderately bad headaches from having a bad back but there is muscle soreness associated with those headaches. The sulfite headaches were unbearable. If you have not done so already, you might want to keep a food journal. I assume you have already checked your eyes and your back for the cause of your migraines. good luck.
Matt, I'm glad you found your trigger and are now migraine free. Sulfites were one of the first triggers I identified too. I am also triggered by wheat, citrus, peanuts, sunflower seeds, preservatives, weather hormones and a few other I haven't identified yet, apparently. LOL. Thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts. Take care, Carolyn
I had bad migraines for years. Went to Chiropractor who used acupuncture, adjustments and elec. hooked up to the needles in my temples(which feel like a mild itch to me) They pulsed in time to the migraine, lol. Anyway, treatment got rid of them for me for good. I feel for you, remembering them. Do go get an adjustment if you can.
Lauralie, I've had great success with acupuncture and chiropractic for lots of things, but not migraines.. mine seem to be extra stubborn. :-(
So happy to read you found something that worked for you. They sure can affect your quality of life. - ty, carolyn
happy new year! Sorry for your troubles. And yes when it come to your health , REST. I know all to well about it having psoriatic arthritis , chronic pain. Just tell everyone caught up with you later and give yourself that time to rest. It took me a long time to learn that. My mom has rheumatoid arthritis and she kelp telling me Leslye you just have to learn to say no. And I still hate that I have to miss our on fun times but your body is telling you to take a time out. Hope you are feeling good now. I will keep you in my prayers. You and Capone.
I had horrendous migraines with the aura, blindspots, pain induced projectile vomiting, all the worst stuff. I learned that one treatment doctors use in an emergency room for migraines was IV magnesium so after using several different magnesium supplements over the years that have various levels of effectiveness and bowel effects I have found one that doesn't make me run to the bathroom and is very effective. It is called Advanced Magnesium and I get it from Amazon. I take from 2-4 capsules per day and an additional one if I'm going to consume something I know has triggered migraine in the past like chocolate, tea, coffee, sesame, cheese, nitrates or nitrites in meat, red wine, etc. and it prevents the item from giving me a migraine and the other capsules prevent the "I don't know what caused it this time" migraines. If I goof up and forget to take them and feel a migraine coming on I take a capsule or more right away as well as a dose of Migraspray a concentrated feverfew extract. If that doesn't work withing 20-30 minutes I do the same thing again and I don't remember the last time it didn't work the second time and it's been a very long time since I've had to do even the first dose at all. I haven't had a migraine in about 1 1/2 years now on the preventive routine. I hope this info helps.
About your computer is your date correct? If not it's your cmos battery it the size of a quarter and cheap to buy. check your pc model # and type cmos battery replacement. Not sure about what u mean about reset but try removing battery and power cord hold down the power button for about 30 sec. then plug in the power cord. Hope this helps but if you can explain to me the symptoms better then I may have a fix. Love the show
I used to get horrible migraines that would knock me out for a day or two. I gave up chemicals and soy and knock on wood I haven't had one since. Also dehydration causes a headache - but not like the migraines I got. A great tea for women is a tea called Yogi Women's formula tea which really helps you bounce back. It's what is called an adaptogen. Not spelling that right. God bless :)
Gee, Carolyn, you're there early and leaving already? I guess I won't be able to catch you, then; I don't expect to make it before the 15th.
About migraines, I get them also: One of my triggers is sunlight, so I always wear dark sunglasses when the sun is up. I've noticed that you don't, in your videos, at least, and you often face the sun so we can see your face, I suppose. That would kill me lol Another of my triggers is aromatics, especially synthetic (petroleum-based) perfumes, such as those in most laundry soaps and especially fabric softeners. It seems your body can take a certain amount of trigger chemicals and allergens (such as pollens and molds), but if there's one more thing on top of it--like fabric softeners in your clothing, or a smoker--then a migraine is one of the results. Some videos trigger a migraine, as well, especially if the camera moves a lot.
I hope you are well by now; I didn't see this video for a few days. Take care!
@David Sprague: Thank you so much for your prompt and considerate reply <3 Just so that you know- the David Sprague I knew many moons ago was just as kind as you seem to be He is/was/is a kind of genius or (amazing out of the box thinker), and I've always wondered how he survived in our some what crazy world today. Way ahead of his time, as I recall. I do believe that if you are 1/2 the young guy I once knew, you are 'one heck of a great person'! Thanks again David, and I wish you an incredibly Great 2017! Gee, I can't believe that you know of Texada Island...few do, so 'shush' hahaha ;)
@David Sprague ...Are you the David Sprague from long ago - school classmate on Texada island, B.C., Canada??? Please pardon my being so forward/rude, but I am so hoping it is you, after so many, many years! :)
[My sincere apologies to you Carolyn for taking this 'liberty' here, but I freaked when I saw my old friend's (I hope) somewhat rare name.] All the Best Wishes to You and Capone for a Wonderful, Safe but Exciting, 'Migraine's Be-Gone' Happy 2017. I truly enjoy your videos so much, and appreciate you making your efforts, even when not feeling well. Wow - You are really appreciated Girl! <3
Were you able to start your computer in safe mode ? If so its easier to save your stff and maybe fix the comuter. When your computer first starts try f8 or f10 several times and it will either come up and give you a boot option of an option to start in safe mode. Start it in safe mode and then go in and try to undo the last thing that you did ! You are very smart so I know you can do this. Also if you go back to Bob;s group you could probably download onto a flash drive the setup for windoows 10 onto a flash drive and then run it to restore or if its an upgrade then let it pgrade and it has saved several peoples computers programs and all that is on the drive. Other wise don't take it to a best buy they are a rip off ! Get a backu enclosure so that you can put yor old hard drive in so you can save your info onto your new computer if you go with a new computer ! If you need help let me know ! Good luck you will be fine !
With me, it is mainly Pork and Eggs that set me off with also having chocolate and cheese in one day. I recently had 2 migraines Saturday and Sunday 3 weeks ago, no idea why until I realised I had drunk Green Tea recommended to me. The Tannins in the oils causes irritation to arterial walls causing migraines, I found that out AFTERWARDS!
..Just come across your channel, a pleasant surprise as some like the Nomadic ex-criminal is contrived. The problem with your computer could be your optical hard drive giving up, the short disk. I replaced mine with a solid drive and the 5yr old computer is much better for it.
Hi Carolyn, I just found you a week ago and watched all of your videos. And then you "disappeared>" You wouldn't be the first woman who disappeared just when things were getting good. "And you won't be the last," he said proudly. Sorry you had a migraine but very happy to see you again.
In one of your entries, you told trolls that Karma about Karma. That's a great way to handle the problem, I think. Don't engage. Don't pay attention. Just keep doing what you are doing. - Mike W.
Praying for you and Matilda. I have no prescription drugs I take but it's good to know that you can go to Mexico so easily and get those because they're prohibitively expensive here in the United States wonder if it can happen from Laredo or from Del Rio? I can tell folks.
I can relate to your migraine headaches. I used to have them a lot. Any where from 2-4 a month. I went through the change of life and they just quit. I have not had one for years now. I used to take Migranol Nasal spray and it worked wonders. I had a wonderful New Years and hope and pray that yours is better real soon. Glad you were with friends when you were sick. Some times that helps just to know that friends are close. We are having beautiful weather in Colorado now but it is supposed to get real cold starting Wed. I really like the pictures of the places you travel to. Enjoy watching your dog plan. Looks like he is having fun as well. Must be time for computer problems. Mine is really growling and getting hot at times. Will have to take it in to see the tech. Well got to go so have a wonderful evening/day.
Happy New Year Carolyn, this might not help but a few years ago my wife and I both switched from Windows to linux and our machines love it and run so much better , will never go back to windows..anyways, stay warm and safe and hope this new year brings you peace and love..
you can pull the hard drive of any computer and get the connections to make it an external hard drive from Best Buy. I pulled my laptop hard rive got the enclolsure box and cord for less then 35 dollars
Really sucks having to deal with that kind of pain, my gf has them time o time and from what I seen there horrible. Glad you made it to Mexico and took advantage of the good prices there, aside from that hope all is well. :)
Happy New Year! I too suffer from migraines and sinus headaches, yayyyyyy! One thing you might want to try to keep as backup is naproxem sodium (Aleve or generic). They also now have the Motrin Ultra which is a combo of Naproxan and Naproxem sodium - that also works. I discovered this as my mom also has migraines and the Dr perscribed Naproxan 600 mg for her - so I though well Aleve is the cheap cousin, I wonder if that will do it? Sure enough it did, as long as you take is when the tingle starts. Sometimes you have to add a Tylenol.
As for the computer, I wish the solution would be as cheap as a bottle of Aleve. Mine cacked as well and so 1300 bucks later got new one (well new used one). Luckily it was the motherboard and I could just switch out the hard drive and all was good. Now I keep all my stuff on a separate drive. And as you say - 'lesson learned'. Hope your lesson wasn't as expensive as mine!
From my understanding, there are off gases coming from furniture and painted surfaces which can cause bad headaches. Because of all the dust and animal dander that's floating around too, maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to invest in a small air purifier or some plants to help clean your air. True plants may affect the humidity level in your RV, but you have to choose the lesser of two evils. Plants don't use electricity though and they also help with carbon monoxide. For many years I have suffered from sinus issues and the traditional meds hurt my stomach. I started cleaning the air, using a netty pot and dabbling in essential oils. Doing those things have helped me a lot. I mainly use peppermint, lavender, eucalyptus and tea tree. Some are not safe for pets though so do some research first. Hope that helps some. Safe travels!!!
Oh goodness... when it rains it pours. I feel your migraines. I suffer from. those. chronic fatigue syndrome fibromyalgia I had a botched surgery therefore I had a 12-hour surgery to save my life I suffer from permanent eye damage from that from the lack of blood flow to my brain I've got brain damage due to it I have chronic pain in my left side from the surgery it goes all the way down my left side with my nerves left leg left arm left shoulder I'm basically housebound so I love to live through you I want to go vegan but i crave meat.
I can really feel for you when it comes to migraines, and fibromyalgia. I used to get a migraine about once every six months up until a year and a half ago. Then I discovered a simple solution. Now whenever I feel a migraine coming, I drink a pint of water, with half a measured teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda stirred into it. Ten minutes later, no more migraine.
As for the fibromyalgia, I now take magnesium in liquid form every night, and that has reduced the pain level by about 90 percent.
Migraines and PC issues, oh my, what an antithetical combination. Cool you can maintain your openness and quirkiness is such an open forum. Hoping the trolls don't darken your doorstep. Weird how one can stumble on to a character that is so relatable.Good luck with your site, very entertaining.Happy trails
I am fortunate to not be alone right now.. Which, while it's challenging to let others help me, I'm grateful for. I am so used to handling everything alone. LOL.
However, when it rains it pours and now Matilda is acting up again.. :-( So I am happy I'm not dealing with it all alone this time!
Happy New Year - Carolyn
I had migraines for 20+ years with no help from Doctors other than taking the meds after I start seeing the aura! Day is already shot at that point and then the meds knock me out. Mine were mostly diet related I have found. ALL packaged food has MSG, so I stay away from that now. MSG is one of the biggest triggers. It is in all store bought soups, bbq sauce and salad dressings, flavored potato chips and cheesy powders on cheetos, and most other prepackaged foods. It hides under many different aliases. I also have problems with almonds (which I love), walnuts and dairy. I have found that if I keep intake to a minimum I can eat these occasionally, but not everyday . . . not even every week. MSG is a neurotoxin and is banned in some other countries.
Sara - I am constantly learning new triggers. It seems as soon as I discover one, new ones pop up. This time I think it was a gluten free vegan bread I made with sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds.. It's a constant learning curve! I learned MSG was a big one years ago and since I don't do much packaged food or any cheesy stuff, that one has been an easy one. Thak you so much for the info. I'm glad you were able to pinpoint your issues and stop your migraines!! Happy New year! - Carolyn
Joy - thank you for the sympathy! I am happy to hear yours were short lived.. I hope it stays that way for your sake. I've had them since my early 20s..
Thanks for writing and watching my vids. Happy New Year! - Carolyn
Hi Carolyn, sorry to hear about the migraine, I to suffer with chronic migraines, I take propranalol and imetrex. I get them anywhere 2-5 times a week.
I know your pain and wish you well, Happy New Year to you as well, take care
You are welcome, Carolyn! Thank you so kindly, good to know your feeling better! Very cool, sounds like you had a lot of fun! The center of Mexico is a great, high plateau, open to the north, with mountain chains on the east and west side and with ocean-front lowlands. JPilot :-)
I lived in an RV for 8 months than my dad put himself into hospital and died of bowel cancer, 7/8 weeks later he was gone! a long story short. Now in an apartment, getting re-established, I think I have a tad bought with Tinnitus ear, its ok doing some listening therapy to help it. I was going to mention, in Arizona, the air is a lot more dryer, and that might be contributing to your migraines? hungry, angry lonely tired, reminding yourself to keep healthy, try more water too. Take care. Best of traveling to you Carolyn!
Best regards, Cheryl
Shut off your wifi and unplug electric at night just one night and experience the difference. Wifi inhibits melatonin production as well as rem sleep. Also "ground" at night. Don't believe me blindly, do your research.
Happy New to you, too, Carolyn! You might want to try Exedrine Migraine (get it from any drugstore without a prescription), just for a backup. It actually works quite well as long as you take it before the nausea sets in (better than Advil Migraine). Take good care of yourself and Capone, and get well soon! btw, ginger is good for nausea, so it's good to snack on ginger snap cookies.
