One can survive without food for 40 days, but one’s health will gradually deteriorate without water after 2 days depending on temperature and amount of body water loss. It is well known fact that drinking plenty of water is good for health but how and when is also important for maximum benefit. Drinking water at correct timing will maximize its effectiveness on the human body. Correct timing for Drinking Water: Drink two glasses of water after waking up. This will help to activate the internal organs. Drink one glass of water 30 minutes before meals. This helps in digestion. Drink one glass of water before taking a bath. This helps to lower your blood pressure. Drink one glass of water before bedtime. This helps to avoid stroke or heart attack. Drink one glass of water before workouts. This helps to arm you against dehydration during an indoor or outdoor workout. Drink water after workouts. This helps to replace fluids lost by sweating and physical labor. Drinking water each day before or after going out in public can help to prevent certain types of viruses, or lessen their severity. Right ways to Drink Water: Prefer to drink water in glass rather than by bottle directly. Avoid too much water at a time. Don’t fill your stomach with all water. Drink more and more water when you are ill. Make a habit of taking water with you anywhere you go in bottle or any other container you like. If you are allowed to take water with your medication, do so. Water helps to dissolve the medication and spread it throughout your digestive organs for rapid absorption. कभी भी खड़े होकर पानी नहीं पीना चाहिए। इससे आपके घुटनों पर जोर पड़ता है और अर्थराइटिस होने का खतरा रहता है।फ्रिज का बेहद ठंडा पानी पीने से बचना चाहिए। इसलिए पाचन क्रिया मंद होती है। कुछ लोगों को ज्यादा ठंडा पानी पीने की आदत होती है।ज्यादा ठंडा पानी गुर्दे खराब कर देता है। पानी का एक-एक घूंट धीरे-धीरे पीना चाहिए। खाने के बाद मुंह और गले को साफ़ करने के लिए 1 या 2 घूंट गर्म या गुनगुना पानी लिया जा सकता है । खाना खाने के बाद पानी पीने के लिए कम से कम एक घंटे का अंतर होना जरूरी होता है। अगर आप खाने के तुरंत बाद पानी पीते है तो आपको कई परेशानियों का सामना करना पड़ सकता है। आयुर्वेद के अनुसार भोजन के बाद पानी पीना जहर के सामान है।
