But matpat can u do a theory of how fast you have to dodge a deadly blue shell because in the actuall mario kart game you can dodge it by mushrooms, golden mushrooms, horns , super star power, bullet bills, or etc Can u do a theory on that???
3:45 I get the effect you're going for, but, if you simplify the numbers, you would see that Ganon actually would have just a quarter of Captain Falcon's. For them to have the same impulse, Ganon needs to 'punch' for 4 seconds. Unless there's some actual math involved that I have yet to learn, if so, please inform me
Blue Shells never destroy the karts, their tires, their clothy gliders. Every kart remains intact even after the average of 2 shells per match hitting 1st place.
Also the Mario World has magic so when talking about magical items like exploding blue shells aren't fully explainable with normal physics and math. When you bring magic into the fold logic goes out of the window because magic in Mario games never follows a consistent set of rules.
Nintendo is smart. This magic is very similar to Disney magic in that it can achieve almost anything and it's like that on purpose because it in turn allows Mario to do whatever Nintendo needs him to do for a story plot without having too much depth or explanation.
The impact and the explosion is going to kill you but MAT left out one details. The fire is blue right, so it would be som were around 1600 degrees Celsius or 3000 degrees Fahrenheit which is all most as hot as a (£¥$%*#&) cremation oven. Last word every on who gets hit by the blue shell should not be alive
A physics nit-pick:
When Matpat talks about the angle of the impact, he discounts the impact of the vertical aspect of the hit, which would drastically increase friction with the road. So you don't have to double the force.
I don't know relevant coefficients of friction for the road, but they're probably high enough that a significant force pressing down on the cart would meaningfully slow it even IF it weren't also angled to directly oppose the vector of motion.
