Upload Your Before & After Here: https://www.drberg.com/add-client-suc... Take Dr. Berg's Advanced Evaluation Quiz: http://bit.ly/EvalQuiz Your report will then be sent via email analyzing 104 potential symptoms, giving you a much deeper insight into the cause-effect relationship of your body issues. It's free and very enlightening. Dr. Berg explains what statins are and what the pros and cons are. Find out what the risks are of taking this medication and why it is prescribed in the first place. Among the risks of statins, it blocks the enzymes that produce cholesterol. Why is that important? It's because your body makes cholesterol naturally everyday for vital functioning of your body. Without it, your body will start to break down. It's one thing to lower your cholesterol in your diet so you have the normal levels of cholesterol, but it's completely different to make your body stop producing it altogether. Dr. Berg explains the natural way to lower your cholesterol and how to go about it the right way. Thanks Dr. for being preventative to serious complications. Warning labels read - will weaken muscles. Only the heart is a muscle ( I learned that in high school ) so why weaken the heart to prevent a heart attack. I threw this stuff away but the proper disposal as told from the drug store is.... in a toxic waste dump !! Very nice environmentally friendly way to have a sudden heart attack. I learned digestive enzymes with lipase, dandelion, D-limonene mixed with orange juice, artichoke extract, moringa and theobromine.

Statins are dangerous, but the Dr.'s don't tell you that. I had spasms so bad, it knocked me out of bed. I have a family history of Diabetes. I also have a family of heart disease, but the people in my family that died young brothers 45 & 55. Smoked, Drank, never watched what they ate. My youngest brother just turned 83 yesterday. He led a different life. We are far apart in age, but I live like he does. I get so sick of these pushy Dr.'s and Insurance company. Get this, I take synthroid and sometimes I forget it. In the last two years I have collected a months worth of pills. I had to fill the RX anyway because Pharmacy will get points taken away if I don't fill it on time. Thanks to Obama this is one of many examples of how he ruined our healthcare system. THe insurance hold it against Dr.'s if they don't give you a million immunizations. I refuse it all, and if they don't like it too bad. This is my body not theirs.

If cholesterol acts as a band aid to heal a lesion then why doesn't heel it, rather than creating a clogged artery?

My internist is challenging me to show her that I can lower my cholesterol and LDL by following your advice. (I have lost 32 pounds in the past 4 months, so I'm going to do this). Then she says she will drop my dosage of Lipitor. This will be huge for me because I have Familial Hypercholestorolemia. Listening in, Dr. Thanks.

What would you advise someone who has previously had a sroke due to blockage as far as staying on a statin?
David A (1 month ago)
My father was coerced, forced and intimidated into taking Statins, i fought against the tide, but the doctors persisted, and as I warned, the drug weakened him, gave him debilitating back pain, muscle loss, and many of the listed side effects, and within 2 years he had a fall, went to the hospital for an x ray (nothing broken) and caught a case of MRSA which killed him. This is not atypical, it is almost as if the "healthcare" (really disease management and extortion) industry wants to depopulate elderly and get them off Social Security and Medicare faster with these inane policies and drugs that enrich the powerful special interest groups.

One otherstory. I went on a weeks golf trip. One of the guys forgot to pack his statins, he paniced. On the trip was a Family Dr who was a Statin sceptic. He told him, stopping for a week will do no harm, in fact, a break from the drug may be a benifit. By the fourth day the guy noticed that several "health problems" seemed to be improving. When he got home he cut his statin dose in half and finally stopped taking them.

I play play sports aggressively in my 60's, and tore a tendon 4 days after starting Crestor 5mg. No idea how I tore it, never tore a tendon before. Could Crestor be the cause, so soon after starting??

It’s the combination of diet, exercise and low dose statins to keep hereditary cholesterol down. People who are fit, healthy & slim can still have high cholesterol. I think it’s important to note that statins are designed for hereditary cholesterol. Don’t disregard that.
M F (2 months ago)
Irresponsible at best..... be aware that if you have a FH of high cholesterol and heart attack, you NEED statins. For your own safety....regardless of what is being passed for gospel here..... Feeling better by stopping statins is great, but dying before your time isn’t.

Following the links and reading the amount of Studies and the Myth is still used to deceive us shows the MONEY is huge. I got the advice about 5 years ago and just stopped the Stalin I was on and all of the symptoms are gone (took about a year) Now 66 off all meds, reversed the symptoms of Type 2 Diabetes using Keto to restore my health and feeling great after the first 65 pounds are gone. I do really enjoy the videos and the links with the research behind your talks. God Bless you and your family and friends

What do you think about high triglycerides? ie. 1000+ untreated. I'm sure the problem is too many carbs in my diet, but treated, that number drops to about 200.

And Yeah So What (3 months ago)
I was given 1000 mg Simcor after having 4 by-passes. I didn’t start taking it until 2weeks after surgery and I felt great until I got on statins. For 7 years I felt like a zombie, lost all the muscle in my body, had joint pain and severe fatigue. Also my memory was getting so bad my son asked why I was repeating myself, my blood pressure went up so high I was put on meds for that. I couldn’t take anymore. I was 52 when this started and I felt the doctor stole 8 years of my life, whether it be from incompetence or bc of the big pharma Co. After seeing videos like yours I had the confidence to get off statins. I feel so much better but still have memory loss and problems with my muscles. Thank you for getting this important message out. I have 2 brother-in-laws who recently died from heart disease and was on statins. This is the same thing I was going thru. I knew I would be the next one to die and started watching videos and learning as much as I could. Thank You for your help. The video was informative. BTW when my cholesterol got to 160, he wanted to get it down to 130. This cardiologist is considered the best in the area. I don’t know what’s going on but I find all of this unbelievable and quite scary! I am no longer going to a cardiologist.

I've read that if doing the Keto diet (which I've been doing for several months now) it will NOT look normal on the lab tests. I caretake a fellow who has (very necessarily) lost significant weight on the diet, but has been taking the statins throughout. He is about to get lab work done and I'm afraid his numbers will alert the doctor to prescribe him even more statins! The Dr. has already given us the story that had his own father taken statins as instructed years ago, he would be alive today. How do we shop around for a no pro statin Dr.! Can we safely just get off the statins on our own while continuing the Keto diet? Thank you so much!
Manny Radzky (3 months ago)
Thank you dr. Took Crestor for a year. Felt like sh-t. This was 4 years ago. Took myself off even after my cardiologist not to. Did keto, and have never felt better in my life. Carbs and sugar are the problem. Not healthy fats.

Dr Who (4 months ago)
Hey guys, Doc. I need a little feedback here. My bloods show that my cholesterol is high; LDL is 5.6 & total is 8.6. Though not medically tested, myself and a couple of different MD's have concluded that the issue is hereditary. My diet is good, and I am a life long athlete, now aged 55. I have never been overwieght and though heavy, 87kg's and 180cm, I am of a muscular disposition. Today the MD suggests I take statins, I have refused due to my own research and understanding of the pro's/con's, but if the high level is hereditary, I cannot see a way of reduction through diet. Any views, thoughts or feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Hey all, my cholesterol is high than recommended but my diet is good, I am told the cholesterol issue is inherited so cannot be controlled with diet. Needless to say, my Dr is making every effort to start me on Statins but I have refused to take them. Any advise for me considering diet might not be the answer?

Barb Zylema (6 months ago)
I don't understand. If doctors take an oath to "Do no harm", then why are they prescribing all these statins when I know that they are aware of all these side effects? I have just recently been told that my LDL is too high and my doctor wanted to put me on a statin and I told her that I wouldn't take it. I had informed her before we discussed my numbers that I am on a Ketogenic diet and I am not about to change how I eat. I also requested that she order an NMR lipoprofile test so that I can determine what My LDL's look like.

My total cholesterol was 325 ... my Dr was annoyed that I went off statin. My trygliceride was 59 and HDL was 109. Started keto 5/16/18
Tamara Penner (3 months ago)
Thank you Barb for mentioning this....I'm about to take my labs and have been doing Keto for 6 months. Never felt better...Am at maintenance weight, gut issues have completely gone away as well as gout from too much protein. I know this new Dr. will think there is something horribly wrong, but I have watched hundreds of videos now and researched and feel doing Keto is an extremely beneficial diet for me. If the Dr. tells me I need some kind of drug, I will just stop going...unless something 'otherwise' crops up. Have never been a person for drugs or just believing what I'm told!

There may or may not be value to what you are professing. However, I have known several chiropractors and would not trust them. I have taken a statin for probably 20+ years and am in excellent health at 69 years old. The vast majority of medical doctors do not share your beliefs and they make nothing in prescribing statins.

TOOK MYSELF OFF STATIN'S LAST YEAR AND WONT TAKE THEM AGAIN!!! ONE LARGE APPLE PER DAY ONE MEDIUM BEET AND TWO MEDIUM CARROTS AND GRAPEFRUIT JUICE HELPS LOWER LDL NATURALLY..... EAT THEM RAW IF YOU CAN SLICE THEM FINE BUT CLEAN THEM GOOD FIRST NEVER PEEL THE APPLE , BEET, OR CARROTS ... YOU CAN PAR BOIL THEM BUT BETTER TO SLICE THEM THIN AND EAT RAW --- I DRINK AT LEAST 10 OZ OF GRAPEFRUIT JUICE PER DAY... GRAPEFRUIT JUICE HAS SAME ENZYME THAT IS IN STATIN'S AND YOUR LIVER ----- THAT IS WHY THE ITEMS I MENTION HELPS,

60yo male, statins for over 15 years. I now lost over 50lb with LCHF IF diet over 4mths, not taken statins since. Feeling great and have dropped all meds including Alendronic acid (Fosamax), omeprazole and daily aspirin. I've had two bloods done over the last 30 days and my total cholesterol was 313, HDL 27. Triglycerides were 752 but did come down to 310 after my weight leveled out some. Cholesterol hardly improved over the 30 days. My situation is that my doctor advised to go back on statins because my risk factor was 25% at my age compared to 10% average. I am at a loss at the moment, I must admit that I am confused to say the least, I was hoping that my cholesterol would improve on the LCHF diet, I don't want to let it put a dampener on it.. thank you Dr.Berg

I really want to quit taking stains but my doctor says that since I had a heart attack 16 yrs ago I can never stop taking them. My current numbers are total cholesterol 221, HDL 111, LDL 96, triglycerides 70, A1C 5.0. Does your 1% decrease still apply to me? Or, is my chance of another heart attack significantly greater since I previously had one? It somewhat scares my to go against my doctor's emphatic advice but I also worry about the potential damages from taking these drugs.

Thank you so much Dr Burg for the time and interest you put into trying to help us get this problem sorted. I did have a mini heart attrack because I didn't get relief from chest pain for a few hours in November 4. '17. I did have to have a third stent put in which was very very painful getting in. Thank you.
ReverendRusty (10 months ago)
If you're trying life style and diet changes to control cholesterol, shouldn't you get off statins first? Otherwise the doctor is likely to insist it's the statin and not the diet, and to be truthful it will be hard to tell. (BTW I got off statins because it caused all sorts of cognitive problems for me.)

I know a lot of people feel awful taking statins but I really didn't have any of those side effects but the more I read and heard about what it was doing inside my body I took myself off. Most doctors are just repeating what they learned or read or been told by their pharmacy reps, we have to be our own advocate and do our own research. Hey Dr. berg My Dad actually died from taking a Statin to lower his blood pressure he got what they called polymyositis / muscles weakness only it robbed his body of all its muscle and died at 67. When i got high blood pressure a few years ago at 50 I switched my diet to pretty much a straight up Vegan only I eat meat a few times a month to keep a healthy flora in the gut and its different enzymes. In one year my blood pressure went from 88 over 167 as my normal running pressure to 85 over 150 the following year this year its at 85 over 139. Maybe next year it will be at 85 over 129 , I will know soon enough. Im at 15% body fat was at 20%

Mofo Outdoors - Systolic lower than diastolic is to say - at the very least very unusual - what does your doctor think?☺☺☺ Joking aside the higher number (systolic) is said to be OVER the lower number (diastolic). You obviously have it the wrong way round. To help remember D stands for "diastolic and down". S stands for "systolic and sealing" (sealing sounds like ceiling which is OVER head). That's how I remember which is which. Hope it helps.

Don't know what to say. Glad you made this video, just that it is too late for me. It also needs to have a big Warning sign with it saying "Statin Drugs Destroy Lives". I was a very active hard working 10 hrs a day father and husband who also helped others on the weekends. I had a mild heart attack and had 3 stents put in. I was recovering very well and went back to work with a prescription for Lipitor and Coumadin to supposedly help with my hereditary cholesterol. The day I went back to work they had to call an ambulance to take me to the hospital as I was too weak to walk to the lunchroom from my workspace. Ended up that I had internal bleeding from the blood thinner. So after I got back to cardio rehab and put all I could into getting back in shape to work again as my job was very strenuous and I needed my strength to return as they said it would. My progress started going down instead of up. My speed and reps just couldn't match what I was doing before the incident at work. I was still on Lipitor. Then, when just walking on the sidewalk one evening I just faceplanted into the concrete. My legs didn't have the strength to pick my feet up. My wife and a friend helped me and my bloodied face into the car to take me home. We saw my doctor, cardiologist, and then a rheumatologist. Blood tests showed something wrong with the CK levels and certain proteins in my blood. They stopped the Lipitor but I wasn't getting any better. A nerve velocity test was done and then I was sent for a muscle biopsy of my right quadricep at UofM hospital. Findings came back confirmed what my surgeon had thought. I have Inclusion Body Myositis! There is no cure at this time. It was caused by the Lipitor. I am now not able to touch the top of my head or walk very far. I need help getting dressed, and sometimes getting out of bed. My jaws get tired easily when chewing. I lost my job, my way of life and all the wonderful things I used to do outdoors. Again, I plead with you to post more on the Statin drug issue and put large warnings about it! Thank you for your time and support. By the way, I was 50yrs old when this all started and am now 54.

neurons are protected by cholesterol. The cholesterol is the insulation around the brain cells.

THANKS for reminding us. I wish more people would study instead of just blindly following Drs. orders!
